HOW TO PASS VALUE TO STORED PROCEDURE through page

Hi
I want to create generate next number on base of type. I have created stored procedure with passing  three value input. If I am passing value manually through page then next number is generating. But I don't to pass value manually, I have to assign value internally as per database record.
Sameh Nassar: Create PL/SQL Function And Call It From Your ADF Application
I did same thing in my application,It is working,Output like that
Value = INV
Result= 26400080
Now I have to assign value TRANSCATION  TYPE through bean class or  assign another textbox value. I did in my program in the following ways
   <af:inputText value="INV"
                                                          label="#{bindings.p_transaction_type.hints.label}"
                                                          required="#{bindings.p_transaction_type.hints.mandatory}"
                                                          columns="#{bindings.p_transaction_type.hints.displayWidth}"
                                                          maximumLength="#{bindings.p_transaction_type.hints.precision}"
                                                          shortDesc="#{bindings.p_transaction_type.hints.tooltip}"
                                                          id="it16" binding="#{InvoiceJobOrderBean.transacation_type}"
                                                          partialTriggers="it16">
                                                <f:validator binding="#{bindings.p_transaction_type.validator}"/>
                                            </af:inputText>
then  I got the following error.
<MethodExpressionActionListener> <processAction> Received 'javax.faces.event.AbortProcessingException' when invoking action listener '#{bindings.generateNextNumber.execute}' for component 'cb2'
<MethodExpressionActionListener> <processAction> javax.faces.event.AbortProcessingException: ADFv: Abort processing exception.

  • How to pass values of the prompt through Action Link - URL in 11g

    Hi All,
    I am in OBIEE 11g v6.
    Let's say, I have two dashbaord pages P1 and P2.
    P1 page contains
    1. Prompt PR1 - containing a single column EmpName
    2. Report R1
    P2 page contains
    1. Prompt PR2 - containing a single column EmpName (same column as in PR1)
    2. Report R2
    Requirement :
    Let's say a user select a value = David from the EmpName column in prompt PR1. In the Report R1, on one the measure columns 'Sales', I am using an action link - Navigate to URL ( I can't use Navigate to BI Content for some reasons). In the URL, I am giving the URL to page P2. Can I pass the selected value (which is David) to the EmpName column of the Prompt PR2 of Page P2 so that Report R2 is automatically limited by David when I land on that page through the URL?
    Few things to consider are, I can't use EmpName column in my report R1 on page P1, I just want to pass the value of a common column from one prompt on Page1 to another prompt on Page2. Is that possible. Can anybody please help?
    Thanks,
    Ronny

    Hmm can you give a try one more time with
    Add EmpName name and hide it on report R1 on page P1
    and set EmpName as Is Prompted on report R2 on page P2 and with my earlier steps should work.
    Other option is read this doc once that helps you how to pass value thru url.
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21043_01/bi.1111/e16364/apiwebintegrate.htm#z1005224

    @EmailAddress nvarchar(50),
    /******tblLink_OrderProduct******/

    @ProductFK int,
    @FittingDate date,
    @FittingTime Time
    As
    DECLARE @CustomerFK int;
    DECLARE @OrderFK int;
    Begin TRANSACTION
    SET NOCOUNT ON
    INSERT INTO [TyreSanner].[dbo].[Customer](Forename, Surname, HouseNo, CustAddress, Town, Postcode, ContactNo, EmailAddress)
    VALUES (@Forename,@Surname,@HouseNo,@CustAddress,@Town,@Postcode,@ContactNo,@EmailAddress)
    Set @CustomerFK = SCOPE_IDENTITY()
    INSERT INTO [TyreSanner].[dbo].[Order] (CustomerFK)
    VALUES (@CustomerFK)
    SET @OrderFK = SCOPE_IDENTITY()
    INSERT INTO [TyreSanner].[dbo].[Link_OrderProduct](OrderFK, ProductFK, ProductQuantity, TotalProductSaleCost, FittingDate, FittingTime)
    VALUES
    (@OrderFK, @ProductFK, @ProductQuantity, @TotalProductSaleCost, @FittingDate, @FittingTime)
    COMMIT TRANSACTION

    Hi brucey54,
    There’re several ways to capture the value from a Stored Procedure. In you scenario, I would suggest 2 options, by an output parameter or by a table variable.
    By an output Parameter, you need to make a little bit modification on your code as below:
    USE [TyreSanner]
    GO
    ALTER PROCEDURE [dbo].[AddCustomerDetails]
    @Forename nvarchar(50),
    @FittingDate date,
    @FittingTime Time,
    @OrderFK int output
    As
    DECLARE @CustomerFK int;
    --DECLARE @OrderFK int;
    Run the following code, Then @OrderFKvalue holds the value you’d like.
    DECLARE @OrderFKvalue int;
    EXEC AddCustomerDetails(your parameters,@OrderFKvalue output)
    Anyway if you don’t like to add one more parameter, you can get the value by a table variable as well. Please append “SELECT @OrderFK;” to your Procedure as below:
    USE [TyreSanner]
    GO
    ALTER PROCEDURE [dbo].[AddCustomerDetails]
    SET @OrderFK = SCOPE_IDENTITY()
    INSERT INTO [TyreSanner].[dbo].[Link_OrderProduct](OrderFK, ProductFK, ProductQuantity, TotalProductSaleCost, FittingDate, FittingTime)
    VALUES
    (@OrderFK, @ProductFK, @ProductQuantity, @TotalProductSaleCost, @FittingDate, @FittingTime);
    SELECT @OrderFK;
    Then you can call the Stored Procedure as below:
    DECLARE @T TABLE (OrderFK INT);
    INSERT @T EXEC AddCustomerDetails(your parameters) ;
    SELECT OrderFK FROM @T;
    There’re more options to achieve your requirement, please see the below link:

    I want to pass an array thru a JDBC to a stored
    procedure
    how can i pass a java variable string array to the
    store procedure using JDBC.
    here is my package for array:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE TABLE_TYPES
    AS
    TYPE tString IS TABLE OF VARCHAR2(10) INDEX BY
    Y BINARY_INTEGER;
    END;
    There are two ways to pass in Arrays to stored procedures in Oracle:
    1. Define an Oracle TYPE outside a package and then use oracle.sql.ARRAY and oracle.sql.ArrayDescriptor to explain to the driver how the array is structured. This is what Avi has shown how to do.
    2. You can also pass in INDEX BY arrays of VARCHAR2 or NUMBER, provided they are indexed by BINARY_INTEGER. This is what you appear to want. In order to do this you'll probably need the 10g JDBC driver and code that uses the 'setPlsqlIndexTable' method of 'OraclePreparedStatement' to bind your array.
    Be careful about the values you pass into the 'setPlsqlIndexTable' method. You have to specify in advance how much data you expect to get back and how long each row is. The driver allocates memory based on these numbers. You code also needs to cope with arrays that have null elements.
    I work for a company that makes a JDBC code generator. A list of common situations we've encountered when working with Index By tables can be found here:

  • Pass values to stored procedure parameters

    I have a stored procedure in MS SQL 2005 that has a datetime parameter.  I want to be able to use the stored procedure but I only want to pass a date value and assume all times for this date.
    When i add the stored procedure to the report it automatically creates the parameters and I don't know how to bypass them.
    Is it possible to create a date type parameter and then pass it to the stored procedure parameter?

    Hi Johua,
    Yes, you can create a date type parameter and pass it to a stored proc that accepts a datetime parameter.
    This will, however, need a container type of a report.
    1) Create a new report and also create a date parameter in this report
    2) Insert the original report as a subreport in, perhaps, the report header/footer section
    3) Create a formula with this piece of code:
         datetime({?Date},time(0,0,0));
    4) Link this formula with the subreport's stored proc parameter

  • Passing Values to Stored Procedure for "IN" Clause

    Hello All:
    I am trying to pass values to a stored procedure to use in an IN clause, and getting an "ORA-01722: invalid number".
    I believe this has something to do with how .Net handles strings and how I am trying to pass it to my stored procedure.
    The values I know need to be IN (2, 1) for the stored procedure to work, and I built a routine that creates a string value to pass in the format "2, 1", but I believe because this value is defined as a string in the .Net code, the leading and trailing apostrophe characters are causing the problem in the stored procedure.
    I have in my .Net code the following:
    oCommand.Parameters.Add("groupID_", OracleDbType.Varchar2).Value = GroupID;
    Where GroupID is defined as a string character, and has values of the following: 2, 1, but due to how .net handles it, it passes as "2, 1".
    So of course, inside my stored procedure,
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE PAYSOL.sp_ProjectsManAppAndFundRpt(
    p_Cursor1 OUT SYS_REFCURSOR,
    p_Cursor2 OUT SYS_REFCURSOR,
    p_Cursor3 OUT SYS_REFCURSOR,
    p_Cursor4 OUT SYS_REFCURSOR,
    p_Cursor5 OUT SYS_REFCURSOR,
    groupID_ IN VARCHAR2)
    where I am defining the groupID_ parameter as a VARCHAR2, it is keeping the apostrophes, causing problems when I use it in my IN clause:
    AND S.GroupID IN (groupID_)
    What do I need to do to pass this value correctly? Is there something I can do inside the stored procedure to strip those characters, or do I need to pass it differently, or completely alter how I am handling this? I don't know the right path to head down, so wanted to seek some help.
    Thanks
    Andy

    IN Clauses and parameterized queries can be tricky beasts; so while logically it makes sense to do what you want (it does not do so in databases!)
    you can handle this problem in a few ways:
    1) anonymous sql (don't recommend)
    2) a user defined type and function as such
    --see  http://asktom.oracle.com/pls/asktom/f?p=100:11:0::::P11_QUESTION_ID:210612357425
    --create a table of numbers ,create a function to split the "where" into a table
    --then return the data
    CREATE OR REPLACE type numberTableType as table      of number;
    create or replace function in_number(  p_string in varchar2 ) return numberTableType  AS
            l_string        long default p_string || ',';
            l_data          numberTableType := numberTableType();
            l_number        number ;
            N               NUMBER;
        BEGIN
          loop
              exit when l_string is null;
              n := instr( l_string, ',' );
             l_data.extend;
             begin --is user inputs a non-numeric value  skip the value
                l_number := cast(ltrim( rtrim( substr( l_string, 1, n-1 ) ) )  as number);
                l_data(l_data.count) := l_number ;
                EXCEPTION
                        WHEN VALUE_ERROR THEN
                            l_number := 0;
                        WHEN OTHERS THEN
                            raise ;
             end ;
             l_string := substr( l_string, n+1 );
        end loop;
        RETURN L_DATA;
      END in_number;
    --then your code
    AND S.GroupID IN (select column_value from table(in_number(groupID_))3) actually, just look at this blog posting! it does a better job at this than I am!

  • How to pass values at runtime in JDBC - XI - File scenario

    Hi friends,
    In my scenario, data is coming from R/3 and i need to filter records from oracle database based on this data. There are 4 database tables that need to be queried using 2 select statements. The resultset after the execution of query will be mapped to the target flat file structure.
    here are my queries:
    1) Can I avoid BPM as data needs to be collected from the two database calls which involves two sender JDBC adapter instances with only one target structure?
    2) Can I use stored procedure in this scenario? If yes, than how to pass values to stored procedure at runtime via sender JDBC adapter.
    Thanks and regards,
    Nitin aggarwal.

    Hi Nitin,
    "..So i want to know if i can write multiple select statements in the stored procedure.."
    Read the below line that is mentioned in the SAP help documentation fro Sender JDBC adapter:-
    <i>Specify an SQL EXECUTE statement to execute a stored procedure, which contains exactly one SELECT statement.</i>
    I dont think it can be achieved...but there must be some workaround for this. You can probably use a join statement.
    Read this, again from the documentation:-
    <i>The expression must correspond to the SQL variant supported by the relevant JDBC driver. It can also contain table JOINs.</i>

  • How to pass values to Oracle store procedure in Crystal Report

    Hi all,
    I am newbie on passing values to stored procedure parameters. I created a Crystal Report using the Crystal Report wiward with PULL method and data come from Oracle stored procedure. In an ASP.NET page, I have stored two values in Session and need to pass them as input parameters to Oracle stored procedure to print the report. In Crystal reports 2010 once you connect to a stored-procedure as data source, it automatically creates the parameter fields with Crytal Report Viewer. Please show me how I pass values to store procedure at runtime automatically.
            'Set the parametter value
            myReport.SetParameterValue("@P_COURSE", "CoursetNo")
            myReport.SetParameterValue("@P_CLASS", "ClassNo")
        End Sub
    I tried to apply above codes from Brian Bischof book but display the error from the following lines:
            myReport.SetParameterValue("@P_COURSE", "CoursetNo")
            myReport.SetParameterValue("@P_CLASS", "ClassNo")
    I also enclosed my code. Any experts, please let me know anything wrongs on my code . I tried several methods that searching via google, but did not solve my issues. Thanks.

    Hi,
    Thank you for your response. Here are the detailed code and error as following:
    Please show what I am missing in my below VB.NET codes:

            Class = Session.Item("ClassNumber"))
            Dim myReport As New CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument

            myReport.SetParameterValue("@P_COURSE", "Course")
            myReport.SetParameterValue("@P_CLASS", "Class")
        End Sub
    =================================================================================
    I put a break point to debug but display the error at the following lines:
            myReport.SetParameterValue("@P_COURSE", "Course")
            myReport.SetParameterValue("@P_CLASS", "Class")
    Eventhough, if I set a specific value to Course=1000 and Class = math and still receive the error:
    Invalid index. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8002000B (DISP_E_BADINDEX))
    I tried several sources from Google search but it is not working. I really appreciate any detailed code either in C# or VB.NET to solve my issues. Thanks in advance.

  • How to execute oracle stored procedure through php as externally?

    hi...
    i am searching for the way that how to execute oracle stored procedure through web service, i am using php and mysql, i have some stored procedures in oracale database, i want to execute them, from php, means the database will be remain mysql, and the stored procedures of oracle will be executed externally...
    Kind regards,
    Wilayat.

    Ok, so first of all this is a kind of strange question. Since Oracle and MYSQL can happily live side by side.
    Make sure you have the oracle client (instant or regular ) installed and OCI_8 is set up and working correctly in PHP. If it is, when you run the phpinfo() routine you will see oci_8 on there. IF PHP connects just fine from the command line yet apache wont connect check permissions and things like the LD_Library Path.
    Then in php, right along with your MySQL statements run Oracle Statements eg:
    <?php
    $OraDB = oci_connect(name,pass,tnsname);
    $MySQLdb = mysql_connect([parms]);
    $oraQueryText = "begin sp_some_proc([some parms]); end;" ;
    $mysqlQuery = " Some mysql Query";
    $oraQuery = oci_parse($OraDB,$oraQueryText );
    oci_execute($oraQuery);
    mysql_execute([parms]);
    ?>
    Use the standard fetch code to get data from either of them.
    If you cannot and I mean absolutely cannot get an admin to link in OCI_8 then you still have recourse although it will be tedious as hell. PHP allows you to exec calls to the OS. You still MUST make sure the Oracle Client is installed and that sqlplus runs from the command line. You will more then likely have to have a shell script written to do this as well, but maybe not as I have never tried it with the exception of capturing the return value of sqlplus and you will have to dig into sqlplus to get it to send its results to a file you can then parse with php.
    Good Luck!

    FROM [INPUTS];
    RETURN
    END
    and i am trying to get the return value from execute sql task and shown below
    and i am taking my returnn value to result set variable

    You need to have either OUTPUT parameters or use RETURN statement to return a value in stored procedures. RETURN can only return integer values whereas OUTPUT parameters can be of any type
    First modify your procedure to define return value or OUTPUT parameter based on requirement
    for details see
    http://www.sqlteam.com/article/stored-procedures-returning-data
    Once that is done in SSIS call sp from Execute SQL Task and in parameter mapping tabe shown above add required parameters and map them to variables created in SSIS and select Direction as Output or Return Value based on what option you used in your
    procedure.

  • Unable to pass parameter in oracle procedure through unix shell script

    Hi Experts,
    I have oracle procedure where in I have to pass the value of procedure parameter through unix script.
    Follwoing is the sample procedure which i tried to exceute from the unix.
    Procedure:
    create or replace procedure OWNER.PRC_TESTING_OWNER(OWNER IN VARCHAR2) AS
    sql_stmt varchar2(1000) := NULL;
    v_count number := 0;
    v_owner varchar2(100) := owner;
    begin
    sql_stmt:='select count(1) from '||v_owner||'.EMP@infodb where rownum<=10';
    execute immediate sql_stmt into v_count;
    DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(sql_stmt);
    DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(v_count);
    END;The script which I used is:
    Unix
    #!/bin/ksh
    parm=$1
    echo start
    sqlplus -s scott@DEV/tiger <<EOF >>result_1.txt
    set serveroutput on;
    select '$parm' from dual;
    exec owner.PRC_TESTING_OWNER('$parm');
    EOFThe script is working fine that is i am able to pass to parameter value through unix shell script. :)
    But if I want to pass the value of the owner in cursor , I am unable to pass this value through unix.
    Following the procedure which i am trying to implement.
    create or replace procedure OWNER.PRC_TESTING_OWNER(OWNER IN VARCHAR2) IS
    v_owner varchar2(100) := owner;
    CURSOR main_cur IS
      select
      i.ROWID  rid ,
      emp_name,
      deptid
      from v_owner.employee;
    CURSOR subset_cur(c_deptid NUMBER ) IS
        SELECT *
          FROM v_owner.DEPT d
          where  d.dept_id=c_deptid;
    --##main loop
    FOR i IN main_cur LOOP
          FOR j IN subset_cur(i.deptid) LOOP
    BEGIN
    insert into v_owner.RESULT_TABLE
    END;
    END LOOP;
    END LOOP;How can i pass parameter value of the stored procedure through unix script(that is "owner" in this case), when these parameter value is
    used in cursor? :(
    Can anybody help me regarding the same?
    Thanks in Advance !! :D

    It's not the parameter in the cursor that is the problem, it's that you are trying to use static SQL for something that won't be known until run time (the owner of the table).
    You would need to use something like ...
    declare
       l_owner        varchar2(30) := 'SCOTT';
       l_ref_cursor   sys_refcursor;
       type l_ename_tab is table of scott.emp.ename%type;
       l_ename_array  l_ename_tab;
    begin
       open l_ref_cursor for
          'select ename
          from ' || l_owner || '.emp';
       loop
          fetch l_ref_cursor bulk collect into l_ename_array limit 10;
          exit when l_ename_array.COUNT = 0;
          for x in 1 .. l_ename_array.count
          loop
             dbms_output.put_line(l_ename_array(x));
          end loop;
       end loop;
       close l_ref_cursor;
    end;

  • Size limitation that can be passed to Java stored procedure

    Hello!
    I enjoy using Oracle8i these days. But I have some questions
    about Java stored procedure. I want to pass the XML data to Java
    stored procedure as IN parameter. But I got some errors when the
    data size is long. Is there any limitation in the data size that
    can be passed to Java stored procedure?
    Would you please help me ?
    This message is long, but would you please read my message?

    Iam passing an array of objects from Java to the C
    file. The total size of data that Iam sending is
    around 1GB. I have to load this data into the Shared
    memory after getting it in my C file. Iam working on
    HP-UX (64-bit). Everything works fine for around 400MB
    of data. When I try to send around 500MB of data, the
    disk utilization becomes 100%, so does my memory
    utilization and I get a "Not enough space" when I try
    to access shared memory. I have allocated nearly 2.5GB
    in my SHMMAX variable. Also, I have around 45GB of
    disk free. The JVM heap size is also at 2048MB. Where did you get the 400/500 number from? Is that the size of the file?
    What do you do with the data? Are you doing nothing but copying it byte for byte into shared memory?
    If yes then a simple test is to write a C application that does the same thing. If it has problems then it means you have an environment problem.
    If no then you are probably increasing the size of the data by creating a structure to hold it. How much overhead does that add to the size of the data?

  • Error while executing the stored procedure through sender JDBC adapter

    Hi All,
    I am getting below error while executing the stored procedure through sender JDBC adapter.
    Database-level error reported by JDBC driver while executing statement 'exec SapgetNextEntity 'SalesOrder''. The JDBC driver returned the following error message: 'com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: The statement did not return a result set.'. For details, contact your database server vendor.
    what is the problem? any idea to anyone...

    hi Dharamveer,
    I am not getting below statement for your reply
    Try to use Refrence Cursor it will return u reference of resultset.
    I mention SP like this
    exec SapgetNextEntity 'SalesOrder'
    SapgetNextEntity -
    > SP Name
