How to pick files from ECC directory

Hi All,
I have to pick files from the directory of ECC. can anyone tell me how to configure the sender File apapter? Can i use NFS for the same?

Hi Lavanya,
With my knowledge two ways to pick the file from ECC using File adapter.
1. If you use NFS, mount point should be created in ECC for the Directory to access from PI.
2. If you use FTP, FTP ports must be opened between PI and ECC.

Hi,
You can only specify one directory on the communication channel. The advance selection allows the selection of different files within this directory.
Therefore you will need a communication channel for each directory you wish to pull files from.
(Just looked at the blog and see it is possible after all - I'm on the wrong SP)

How to pick files from multiple directories via Sender File Adapter?

Hi guys,
I have a scenario File to IDOC. The Sender File Adapter has to take all files: .xml from Source directory E://Current/.
Actually directories are like
E:/Plant1/Current/
E:/Plant1/History/
E:/Plant2/Current/
E:/Plant2/History/.
Can I have one Sender File Adapter to pick all *.xml files
from
E:/Plant1/Current/ and
E:/Plant2/Current/ and how can I write it in Source Directory of Communication Channel?
Or do I have to have a Sender File Adapter for each Plant?
Any suggestion please?

NFS or FTP to Pick files from Windows Directory

Hi All,
I am working of File to File Scenario. PI needs to pick a file placed in Windows Directory. I have configured the scenario as NFS and given the proper Folder path and file name. PI is not able to Pick the file. It is saying "Configured Directory Does not Exists".
Both PI (HP Unix) and Windows systems are in same network. Do I need to use FTP for this scenario? Is there any way to access the files in Windows Directory using NFS protocol?

Ask you BASIS person to create one shared folder in PI Server(HP Unix) and use that directory in channel.

I have an applet that needs to read some audio files located in its current directory on the server and I just can't seem to figure it out...maybe I am being dumb...any help?

You can use the ListSorter File Adapter Configuration property to sort based on timestamp. Basically add the following property to the inbound JCA file:

Background: Pick files from directory at central instance

Hi,
In Background, We want to pick files from the directory present central instance. I am using FM RZL_READ_DIR_LOCAL to read all files present in directory and later we process each of them.
This FM works fine while I work online but not in background. In Development and Quality servers it works fine in background. possible reason could be that we dont have central instance in dev and quality server.
Please suggest.

The problem in your code is you used file object as argument when you create a new File. I changed a little bit codes and it should be fine now.

How to pickup files from multiple directories and send it to two different folders at target
Ex:
files\xi\us\US.txt
files\xi\uk\UK.txt
i need to pick up the above mentioned two files and send it to the following paths
app1\files\us\download\US.txt
app1\files\uk\download\UK.txt
US.txt has to goto US folder and UK.txt has to goto UK folder only

To pick form multiple folders, select Advanced Mode for file selection in file adapter..
there u can specify directory name/file names

Java Program to copy file from one directory to another failing

Java beginner here so help is much appreciated. I'm have some java code that I'm using to copy a file from one directory to another in an Oracle Applications Server. I notice that when moving to a new instnace I started to get file not found errors. I think it's because of the directory. My question is, does the directory in which I trying to pick up the file have to be a DBA_DIRECTORY, or a UTL_FILE directory in order for the java to find the file and move it?

I get these messages when calling the java from SQL Plus as follows...

If I change the directory from /home/my_user/ to any directory that is defined in DBA_DIRECTORIES or is a UTL_FILE directory to program works. Is it perhaps because the java is in a PL/SQL package as seen below? The PL/SQL program runs as the APPS user and I have issued the following the command grant JAVASYSPRIV to APPS.

HOw to delete files from remote server?

I want to delete files from a directory on remote server.
I use the following command to delete on current server:

Now, how can I delete files from remote server ?

Some possible options:
1. There exists SSH implementation for Windows.
2. You can make a workaround. You can setup share for specific/wanted directory.
Then you can mount it on Linux machine and execute command localy and delete files "localy" in mounted directory.
3. You can setup FTP server on Windows machine and do that remotely via FTP commands.

How to list files from .jar file in applet?

I have created applet and export all files to .jar file.
I use File.list() method in applet to list files from one directory and that works ok but if I try to do that from web browser it sends exception AccessDenied meaning that File.list() isn't allowed in browser.
I know what's the problem but I don't know how to solve it.
What I want is to read from directory list of files.
Help anyone?

Method init() is irelevant, it just adds JTextPane in applet.

PI sender communication channel not reading files from NFS directory

Hello,
I have a sender communication channel configured to read file from NFS directory which is on ECC server. A program in ECC generates the file and puts it on the ECC server in the output directory. PI sender communication channel is supposed to pickup this file and process it. If I give the NFS path as the source directory, I am getting error: Configured source directory '//Server/DIR/OUT' does not exist. I tried putting '
Server\DIR\OUT' too but same error. Do I have to add the NFS path of ECC into PI as logical path?
Any suggestions?

Your ECC server is an external system, therefore you need to activate FTP service in that system and use the transport protocol FTP:

You can use NFS protocol when you have a local directory in XI server.
