How to play wikipedia sound files (Ogg) in Safari 6.0.3?

I'm pretty sure the answer to this one is that it can't be done, but just in case I've missed something in my web searching. I used to be able to play them under OSX 10.6.8. For instance, these sound files: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beethoven_symphony_5

    As Duane says, iTunes should play MP3. If you have downloaded to, say, the desktop, iTunes will not automatically play it. But if you double click it, iTunes should automatically open and import the song as long as iTunes has been set as your default player. If that doesn't work, occasionally you need to drag & drop the file into an open iTunes window. If that doesn't work the file is corrupt or isn't MP3 even if the download says it is.

  • Help playing a sound file please...

    i am trying to play a sound file everytime a button is clicked. the sound will play the first time the button is clicked but wont play after that. how can i get the sound file to play everytime the button is clicked?? here's how i play the sound file...
    InputStream in = new FileInputStream(sound.wav);
    AudioStream as = new AudioStream(in);
    // in the button action event...
    AudioPlayer.player.start(as);
    i tried adding this line... AudioPlayer.player.stop(as);...before the...AudioPlayer.player.start(as); -- the sound file still only plays once
    any help appreciated...thanks

    Hi there,
    Is there a class AudioPlayer in the API or is it yours. Anyway, your class must implement AudioClip interface. Then call yourClass.play(as); You dont need to stop, each time you call play(), it restarts. Try and let me know.
    cheers

  • Please tell me how to automatically play a sound file in a PDF slideshow?Da

    I use PS CS3, LR2, and now I purchased Acrobat 9.1 Pro.  My intent is to create an image based full screen automatic slideshow WITH SOUND.  I have everything working well but I can't figure out how to get the sound file to simply play along with the images.  I do not want the viewer to have to press anything to hear the sounds.  The sound file should simply play along with the image(s).  I would like to be able to time the sound file to the images as well.
    I will appreciate any pointers you may have.
    Thanks...

    To do this reliably the document has to be in the list of the client applications list of trusted documents.  You get this prompt when you attempt to play a sound.  The other way is to actually set the Multimedia Trust (legacy) preference on each client for each type of Player application.  While this might seem a bit of a task it's meant to protect the user.

  • How do i play two sound file one after another

    Hi All,
    How do i play two sound file one after another using single AudioClip Component?.
    Advance in thanks
    Manivel

    AudioClip gives you very little control over what happens to the sound, it also isn't capable of playing long clips or waiting until a clip ends. It will play multiple clips over top of each other.
    To do what you want you should use the facilities of javax.sound. Here's a post with an example: http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?forumID=513&threadID=450768
    There is also a tutorial, but its example fails for long clips.

  • How to play a wave file through the DAQ board?

    Hi there,
    we want to play a wave file that is saved on the harddrive via the DAQ board. Means we want to connect a amp to the analog output of the DAQ to amplify the sound and play it through a speaker.
    We couldn't find any VI that does that. Can anybody tell us how to play a wave file, or perhaps even send us a VI that can do that?
    Thanks a lot for your help
    Martin - Physical Optics Corporation

    Hi Martin,
    The only example that I could find on how to do this was using our
    older Traditional DAQ drivers version 6.9.3.  If you're using Traditional
    DAQ drivers, the vi can be found here.
    The example reads a 8-bit mono .wav file (an example .wav file is included in the .zip file) and writes it to the analog out of your DAQ card.  I've updated the
    example to work with our newer DAQmx drivers and attached it here.
    I hope this helps,
    Paul C.

  • How to play a video file stored locally in the system

    hi
    how to play a video file stored locally
    thanks

    Hi,
    You can't do that in a simple way. You need to have a port open in the firewall, and you need to have a server process on the remote machine.

  • How do I lower sound file volume during video play?

    I have a Flash CS4 project with sound that starts to play in the first scene, set to event/loop so that it plays all through the entire time.
    But I have a piece of video with audio in another scene and I would like to have the sound file playing at a lower volume while the video is playing, then get it to return to normal volume when the video is over.
    I have no actionscript at this point. Just timeline animations, etc.
    Anyone  have an idea how I could accomplish this?
    Thanks!

    Thank you for this, but unfortunately, I don't think this quite does what I am aiming for.
    1) Now the file is in AS3.
    2) I have one audio file making background music throughout the entire file.
    3) The video comes in at a later scene.
    4) I want to lower the volume of the background music file while the video is playing, then get it to normal volume after the video.
    Thanks for your help.

  • How to play a wav file to LINE_OUT with javax.sound.sampled

    Hello all,
    I need to play a wav file to LINE_OUT port, but not to the SPEAKER. I am trying to do this under window NT. For some reason I get false for isLineSupported(Port.Info.LINE_OUT). I am new to javax.sound so I might be doing something wrong. Here is the code that I am using to iterate through all availible mixers and check if LINE_OUT is supported by any of them:
    Mixer.Info[] mixers = AudioSystem.getMixerInfo();
    for(int i = 0; i < mixers.length; i++){
    Mixer mixer = AudioSystem.getMixer(mixers);
    if (mixer.isLineSupported(Port.Info.LINE_OUT)) {
    System.out.println("the port is supported");
    try {
    Port line = (Port) AudioSystem.getLine(
    Port.Info.LINE_OUT);
    catch(Exception ex){
    ex.printStackTrace();
    else{
    System.out.println("the port is not supported");
    Please help

  • How do I get sound files and video to play in an e mail on my iPad ?

    I tried playing a wav file of one of my family members and a black screen with a picture of a speaker with a line through it and it won't play. Can somebody please help me?

    Try and open your .wav file with a free 3rd party App like OPlayer.

  • Mail app no longer plays QuickTime sound files.

    Before upgrading to Mountain Lion, I was able to play sound files attached to mail within the app.
    In other words, if someone sent me a sound file, it would appear as a QuickTime sound within the body of the email and I could play it.
    That was a very nice feature.
    Now sound files will not play within the mail window. Instead, I need an external player such as QuickTime Player or iTunes.
    How can I get that feature back?

    What specific sound file types will not play as Mail attachments in Mountain Lion?
    I just sent an .m4r (ringtone), mp3, and .m4a (iTunes aac music) files as Mail attachments. The first appeared as an icon that played via QuickLook from within Mail. The second two appeared as black, QuickTime styled, embedded music play bar attachments. They played back flawlessly.
    Have you installed any application recently that may have hi-jacked the default QuickTime audio playback? It would have done so silently, or popped up a dialog requesting to perform the hi-jack on a list of music file formats.
    You may have to select each particular audio file format in Finder Get Info and restore QuickTime in the Open with section on that panel.

  • How to play a sound saved in myRIO

    Hi,
     How could I call a file saved at usr/local/sbin in myRIO and send it to play? Thanks...
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    I did this way. I transformed the sound sample into an array (Sound Sample) and in another VI I read this sample (Ring Creator). It is working fine.

  • How to play infinite sound

    hi,
    how to play an (invisble) flashmovie containing a soundloop
    over several html-pages? (I use flash8 professional and I'm able to
    use script )
    thanks for any hints
    kesel2

    thanks Rafiq Elmansy,
    i found a solution which works fine and wasn't such much work
    to do, i thought before...
    the first call goes to a frameset, where one frame is filled
    with the startpage and the other frame (just 1row and color to
    background #fff, so it's not visible - don't set the visibility to
    hidden, then you get no sound too!).
    into the second frame i put the .swf file (width and heigth
    =1 px), with the looped sound, which now playes in all pages and
    even in the pageloading times...
    if nesseccary you could also add buttons to controll the
    sound, but they are outside the main window (frame 1) of your site.
    bye
