How to populate an EO Transient variable used in Conditional expression.

Hi All
I have a Unique Key Validator which has Conditional Execution in which I am checking for the value of transient variable and based on that value this validator is invoked.
Problem is :- When this Conditional expression is processed, transient variable is not populated (code to populate it is written in getter method). As a result of which, I am not getting expected results.
This is my conditional expression :- source.<Transient_variable> = <some value>
I tried by replacing this expression as :- adf.object.getterMethod = <some value> , but that gave me the prototype not found error (method is present in EOImpl.java).
How can I populate this transient variable before it is evaluated in conditional expression???

Just to explain
Both adf.object.methodName and source.methodName are used to access EntityImpl methods. Difference is
adf.object.methodName - used while defaulting the values of attributes
source.methodName - used in validation expression and raising error messages/warning.

Hi Ramesh,
The scenario you have mentioned looks really complicated reason being, maintainance.
Combining 3 records to one is possible in Start Routine. But it will be an expensive one.(I mean loopin)
Pseudo code:
LOOP AT DATA_PACKAGE.
Check which records satisfy your criteria and fill a Temporary table. The fields will be your entire record to be appended to the fact table.
Endloop.
Delete your Data Package.
populate the Temporary Internal Table onto the Data Package.

How to Populate a table type variable from a cursor

I have a stored procedure (P1) that returns a ref cursor as the output.
Another procedure (P2) receives this ref cursor (C).
In this procedure (P2), I want to do a Bulk Collect from this ref cursor (C) in
a table type variable that has been declared locally in the procedure P2. I have created appropriate Object Type and Table Types at the database level.
Please advise how to do it. I tried to do it in different ways, but was not able to do it - each time I faced incompatible data-type related issues.

And you really should address the design issues:
c) why are day, month and year, not being stored in the database as a single DATE datatype in the first place
d) why does your code not know the name of the table it's querying requiring the use of very poor dynamic SQL techniques.
e) why are you loading data in a collection in expensive PGA memory... what can't you do in SQL that requires you to collect the data into memory first?

How do i find out who is using my airport express?

I have an airport express to extend my Wifi coverage and i am sure other people who have asked for the password in the past are still using it. Is there a way to see who is using it, when and block people? I could change the password, but I would like to find out first who is using it.

1) Open AirPort Utility
2) Hold down the option key on your Mac
3) Keep holding the option key while you double click on the AirPort Express icon in the center of the AirPort Utility window
4) Release the option key after you double click

You have a couple of options for updating or deleting using a Filter.
For deleting you can use an Entry Processor and the cache invokeAll method. Using "out of the box" Coherence you can use the ConditionalRemove entry processor. I'm a Java person so the C++ below might not be exactly right but you should get the idea.

HT4259 How to you extend my existing network using an AirPort Express?

My current configuration is a Linksys wireless router that I'm connecting to the AirPort Express via Cat. 5 cable. Only get a flashing yellow light. Help.

I got it working but here is the deal. It is not intuitive; you have to set it on "Create a wireless network", not "Extend a wireless network". You use extend a wireless network when you do it all wirelessly when the signal from the base is strong enough. But since I couldn't reach my wireless network to boost it, I had to use the cat. 5. So I guess it does make sense since I'm going from my WAN by cable to creating a wireless network. For some reason I thought it was going to be seamless with my existing wireless network so therefore I was extending my wireless network. Wrong. Thanks for all your suggestions as I think I would have quit long ago without you help.

Transient variables non initialised........

I have two transient variables that is causing me problems. In my jsp page I have an entry form with a persist entity button..... The entry form does not have the two transient variables.
Below the form is a table that will display all the records entered by the user.The table coluns comprises of the two transient variables but when i persist these two fields are not filled . I have to click on the table ( as if the table is refreshed to have the variables).
In fact for the display of the tables below I have written in my session bean a method that will retrieve all the records by the user for the current week and set the values for the two transient variables .
My question is how can i fill the transient variables in the table when i persist that is on submit.
I am using Ejb 3.0....

Make sure the variable used in the start routine is a global variable. then assign the value u get it from the start routine in the update rule result field.

Hi Gurus,
I have a problem. I have to populate one internal table (sructure t_otput) from another internal table (sructure t_from) using field symbol.
Structure for from table.
types: begin of t_from,
         year(4) type c,
         ww(2) type c,
         site type marc-werks,
         demand type i,
       end of t_from.
Structure for output table.
types: begin of t_display,
         title(30),
         WW1(10),
         WW2(10),
         WW3(10),
       end of t_display.
The from table looks like this:
Year | WW | Site | Demand
2005 | 1 | OR1 | 12.00
2005 | 2 | OR1 | 13.00
2005 | 3 | OR1 | 14.00
The display table which has to be populated should look like this:
Title | WW1   | WW2   | WW3
OR1    |       |       |
Demand | 12.00 | 13.00 | 14.00
How to populate display table using field symbol?

Here is the code, however I am not vary clear about the ORG1 and Demand display that you have shown in the display. I am sure with this code it should not be a big deal to tweak in whatever manner you want.

append wa_display to t_display.
clear wa_display.
loop at t_display assigning <Fs_display>.
