How to present result of DB-Query blasting all formats in width

Hi,
i'm searching for an idea/solution for the problem:
Users of my form shall be able to choose an item of a result list of a DB-Query. Unfortunatelly there are too many attributes with alternating length per line, that have to be showed there. Using multiple line per tuple would blast the form in length instead of width, which is not acceptable, too. Something for scrolling within a little window would be most appropriate.
Nevertheless there is not a table object at all in Designer, as i read in this forum. (This is to my mind a real lack of function. Maybe a new version might offer this?)
Currently i'm developing the form as a test for pdf. Later on the forms shall be developed for HTML as soon as the Form Server 7 is available and implemented.
Maybe somebody has thought about the same problem or has an idea how this could be solved.
Thanks in advance for any response

Hi Goivndu
Thanks for your reply .
I know all those things.
I have created the system & alias  for my backend oracle system.
I can also see all the stored procedure that are there in my oracle system.
I just want to know how to write a select query in a stored procedure .
you can insert data , Update data through oracle procedure but i don't think there is any way to get the result of select query in stored procedure .
If you know any way to do that please do let me know .

QuickTime supports many different file types & codecs, but not all.   In many cases you can lookup, download & install specific codecs if you need them.

  • How to present results from a sql-query in java

Hi - I'm having problems finding out how to present data from a database-query in a nice looking way in a JFrame. Want to present them similar to the way they are presented in the database. Is there an easy way doing this?

Tried to use a JTable, but it's difficult when data in the table should be able to change all the time, i.e the number of rows. What is a Html-table? Can i use it in an application?

  • How to use Results from Another Query for SAP BW universes

    Hi Everyone,
I have two SAP BI universes. In my First universe I have Sales Doc no (dimension) and Orderqty (Measure) and in my second universe I have Sales Doc no(Dimension) and BillQty (Measure).
Here in my first dataprovider I have 1200 rows of data and in second dataprovider I have 75,000 rows. The report should fetch only the BillQty details that matches to corresponding  Sales doc no in first data provider.
I want to place all these fileds into a single report like as shown.
    (Datarpovider1)                (Datarpovider1)                    (Datarpovider2)
    *Sales Doc No*               Orderqty                           BillQty
Here I am able to generate single report using merge dimension but it is leading to performance issues. I want to restrict the values at query level by passing the First dataprovider Sales doc no to second Data provider Sales doc number using Results from Anothery Query feature so that It can fetch only the matching records.
I tried it but it was giving the follwing error:
A filter contains a wrong value. You cannot run this query. (Error: WIS 00007)
How Can I get rid of this error. Can we use Results from Anothery Query option for OLAP universe. Are there any limitation on it.
All this I am doing in Webi Rich Client.
    Appreciate your help
    Thanks &in Advance
    Kiran Saka

    Hi Kiran,
I think the filter has a wrong operand. For example, a filter with an empty constant, or a filter that deals with numeric values is defined with an alphanumeric value.Check out for this.

    Hi @ all,
i want to disable the results of all Characteristics in the Web Application.
In the Query Designer I defined that the results should ever show. Later, in the Web Application, I want to disable the results for all characteristics in one step
Ist there a possibility to do that?
    Thanx for your answers.
    Heiko

yes - you can create a button./link that runs a URL command.
The command would use the SET_SUPPRESSION command in bw3.5
The command would be SET_RESULT_VISIBILITY in bw7.0.
    for bw 3.5 - http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/86/27813b731fd60ee10000000a114084/frameset.htm

  • How to get result behave differently for one column?

    Hi,
    I have 3 columns in a Bex report say A, B and C.
    C = A % B.
Results for columns as desired :
Result of A = Summation of all values of A
Result of B = Summation of all values of B
    <u><b>Result of C = Result of A % Result of B.</b></u>
But at present result for C = Summation of all values of C.
How to achieve the result for C as desired i.e Result of A % Result of B?
Plz note formula for column C is already there and equal to A% B.
All help appreciated and rewarded by points.

    Gaurav,
    Just interested ..
Isn't your scenario something like this?
    A     B     C (%)
    2     4     50
    2     8     25
    4     12     75  (Result)  this is right 4%12
Would n't the Result of percentages C be equal to Result of A % Result of B?
Maybe I am missing something completely.

  • How Do I Present Result of Multiple Rows Using JavaBean

How do I present to my users multiple rows that returned by a query using JavaBean?

Well you're getting everything back in a ResultSet, right? It's not really a good idea to do much with that ResultSet beyond taking all the data it contains and sticking it in some other sort of data structure. ResultSets rely on a connection to retrieve the data, and once the connection is lost, so is the data they contain.
So, if you have a ResultSet that contains the results of a query on a table, let's say Users, then you could put the results into a collection of some sort.. Vector maybe... and return that Vector. Then you could loop through your Vector to display multiple rows to the user.

  • How to use one query results in another query

    hi,
in help.sap I have founded that using variable type replacement path I can use one query results in another query. It is wrote there that I have to choose query name results I want to get in variable definition but I do not know where.
    How I can do this?
Result I want to get is:
In one query I have material prices in another material quantities. I want to calculate inventory value (price * quantity). Moreover prices are on plant level, quantities on storage type level. Plant is atribute of storage type.
    Can I do this?
    Regards,
    Andrzej

    Hi Andrzej,
please check out this thread: Set parameters values depending on other parameters
I had a discussion about query results as input for another query in there.
For creating a workbook, just click on the save button after you ran your query in the bex.

  • How to execute a procedure depending on the result of a query?

    Hello, I'm new in ODI.
I want to execute a procedure depending on the result of a query Oracle table.
We have a Oracle Table whit a column that contains two possibles values.
I want read the table, row by row, and depending on this value, execute a Procedure or execute another.
    How can i do?

what you need to do is
    1. create a variable which "new_var2" which has the count of the number of rows you want to process. must be data type numeric.
    2. copy "new_var2" to the package screen.
    3. duplicate the "new_var2" on the package screen and evaluate the variable and test for "> 0" zero, call it "new_var2_E"
    3. create a new odi variable "new_var1" with a refresh of "select field1 fom (select field1,rownum as rownumber from tablex) where rownumber = #new_var2" in the relevant schema and technology.
    4. copy "new_var1" into your package (some where in the flow)
    5. right click the "new_var1" variable in you package screen and you should get the option duplicate step (click on that)
    6. select the the duplicate "new_var1" on the package screen and correct the the name to something meaning full to you "new_var1_E", also change the "type" to "evaluate variable" then you should see a "value" box. enter one of the values you want to test in the box (remember do not put in quotes ' )
    7. now back on the package screen join the "new_var1" to the "new_var1_E" with an OK line
8 you now join "new_var2" to "new_var2_E" with OK
    9 you join "new_var2_E" to "new_var1"
    10. you then join the "new_var1_E" with an OK or a KO line to the relevant procedure.
    12. you need to duplicate "new_var2" in the package screen one more time this time and call it "new_var2_D" set the type to evaluate and then select the increment of -1
    13. the relevant procedure to "new_var2_D" with an OK
    14. join the "new_var2_D" to the "new_var2_E" with an OK
    15. this should close off the loop now the exit point is "new_var2_E" with a KO line to the next part of your process....
Basically you should end up with a loop on new_var2 decementing, and it is used to get a specific next record row from your table.
Hope this helps, sorry it is a little long winded..

I checked the PL_JSON, and I found it uses sys_refcursor, which is limited to 32K around. That doesn't make sense. A SYS_REFCURSOR has no 32k limit-- the limits are related to the data types that the SQL statement that the SYS_REFCURSOR points to uses. If that SQL statement has a CLOB column, there is effectively no limit. If that SQL statement has a VARCHAR2 column, you've got the 4000 byte limit.
and I was using varchar2 variable in anonymous block. However, my cursor result is too big to hold in a 32K space. Again, this doesn't seem to make sense. There is no such thing as a result that is too big for a cursor
Do you think I need to change PL_JSON API myself to ensure it uses CLOB? or there is anyway that I can avoid update PL_JSON package internally? If the PL_JSON package is trying to write more than 32k of data into a VARCHAR2, your options are
    - Modify the package to use a CLOB
    - Find some other package that implements whatever functionality you need
    - Limit the data to 32k
