How to prevent middle mouse click to move the cursor but still poaste the clipboard ?

This is a linux only issue.
When i'm typing a text editing box, i use the select text/middle click gesture to copy/paste text.
But the middle click not only paste the selected text but move the cursor at the actual mouse position before.
I don't want this behavior, because :
1. I work a lot with vim, where you don't mouve the cursor using the mouse, so i must change my habit when i'm using firefox.
2. When i middle click, event if i put the mouse in the right place, i might mouve it a bit and the text will be pasted on the wrong place
I've been looking in the about:config and the only related option is
middlemouse.paste;
If i put it to false, the middle click button does not mouve the cursor, nor does it paste.
Any idea how to achieve that ?

I do not find the cursor moving on me if I use middle-click to paste text or url that is in that I highlighted into clipboard. Whether I used my Logitech MX510 or the T-CH!!/T-CL13 trackballs that I use now.
The right-click and copy selection then right-click and paste to paste contents where Caret is method can be more precise though.

Middle mouse click no longer works after recent update

I noticed after updating about 3 days ago that clicking the scroll wheel no longer acts as middle click on my MX Revolution mouse from logitech anymore. Pressing on the scroll wheel use to act as middle mouse click, now it just switches between scroll modes. I would like to have the former functionality returned as I really like to be able to open links in new tabs and paste with just one click.
Does anyone know how I could get this functionality working again on this mouse? All other button functions work as they did prior to the update that changed my scroll wheel click behavior.
Thanks for any help with this matter and please let me know if any other information is needed to diagnosis this problem.

Yes the mouse works in windows, but logitech provides a configuration utility for it and so I use that set it up. In linux there is no such utility to configure the mouse. There use to be btnx and that worked great but it's no longer in the repos or AUR so I don't use that anymore. I haven't done pacman -Sc or pacman -Scc in a while so I should still have the packages to roll back, but I'm not sure what package update caused this. On opening first bookmark of folder by middle mouse click, Firefox closes.

I did a fresh install of Firefox, after deleting all folders and profiles of my previous installation.
I did not install any extensions and did not change any settings.
When opening the first bookmark of a folder in the bookmark menu (or toolbar) by middle mouse click, Firefox closes. All other bookmarks (second and further) open just fine.
If two or more tabs are open, the "do you really want to close all tabs" pop up appears.
After searching through about:config and not finding anything related, I now think it may be caused by my Logitech drivers? Maybe you already experienced problems with Logitech drivers before and give me a hint...

Disable anti virus software and try turning off the Firewall in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall.

A second user account is separate; with separate preferences and data, but can share the same apps as long as they're in the top-level Applications folder, not an Applications folder inside another user's home folder.
Sharing files is a bit different; you can put them in the special Shared user folder, or grant permission to specific files/folders in one account to a different user.

You can store them on a separate hard drive, you don't need to keep them on your laptop's hard drive. On your computer's iTunes on the Advanced tab in Edit > Preferences there is a 'copy files to iTunes media file when adding to library' tickbox - if you untick that, you should be able to copy the films to a separate drive and add them back to your iTunes library (File > Add To Library) and it should then point to them on that separate drive and not copy them to your hard drive. When you are happy that it is what is happening and that they are safely on your external drive you can delete the films from your laptop's hard drive.
If you plug the external drive into a different USB port next time (assuming that your laptop has more than one) then it might get a different drive letter, so you might need to always use it with the same port.

Middle Mouse Click Doesn't Scroll

I haven't installed anything lately, but all of a sudden my middle click mouse button (when I click it down) doesn't work. Before when I click it down, the little arrow thing would pop up and I would be able to scroll up and down if I move my mouse up and down. What is wrong? I didn't find anything in the System Preferences thing and I tried to install their software today, but to no avail. I can still scroll if I turn the wheel, but I want the middle click scroll to work again. So does anyone know how to fix this issue and restore the little up and down arrow thing? Thanks in advance. id try repairing permissions, if you haven't, doubt it could be that, but it never hurts. other than that, I would wait doing anything like an archive/install or reverting firmware till someone else can verify that it wasn't just broken by an update.

T510 - Ultranav middle button click + touchpad move for scroll issue

I am used from my t500 to click and hold middle button on the Ultranav and move up and down with the touchpad to scroll up and down. However, this does not work on my t510 anymore.
At least it does work sometimes for some seconds in google chrome; but just for some short moments.
The default behaviour is, that when i'm clicking the middle button the scroll symbol in form of a little scrollbar appears. I can then scroll by using the trackpoint, but not by using the touchpad. Using the touchpad has just the effekt, that the symbol disappears.
Sometimes another symbol appears; its the symbol with the arrows pointing in all direktions. Only when this symbol appears i am able to scroll by moving on the touchpad.
Now i am looking for a solution to my problem.
by the way: when i use the trackpoint, the touchpad is locked for some seconds. Is there a way to disable this?

There is an option to adjust how many lines the scrolling wheel skips but nothing about auto-scroll.I tested it.
It seems like if I use the Auto-scroll and keep the mouse literally 1 pixel below the circle, it will be barely slow enough for reading long articles but you really have to spend a minute and a magnifier to make sure you put the mouse pointer exactly 1 pixel below the circle, otherwise it gets too fast.I'm NOT exaggerating the 1 pixel part. My screen is 1920x1080.Maybe that makes things worse.
I was hoping to adjust the number of "pixels" the pointer has to travel to increase the speed from 1st to 2nd stage.Basically, to increase the distance you have to move the mouse in order to increase the acceleration.
I'm not sure if anyone here uses 1080p screen.Could you please confirm that it's also 1 pixel for you ?
