How to publish Report Viewer reports as Web Services

I have some reports templates (.rdlc) having only business objects as data sources (no direct SQL connection). They are working well with Windows Report Viewer. Now I am think to make the reports available via web services to multiple apps. Is there
a way to do that? Any sample?
Thanks,
Jason

Hello,
SQL Server Reporting Services provides access to the full functionality of the report server through the Report Server Web service. In order to meet your requirement, you
can try to converting an .rdlc file to an .rdl file
and then deploy the report to report server.
If you want to rendering the report in your application, you can try to use the ReportViewer controls in remote processing mode.

  • How to publish a Crystal Report in Business One

    Hi
Please can anyone tell me how I publish a Crystal report (which is now inbuilt in SAP B1) so it is available to all users?  I have full administrator/manager user rights. I have so far created the report and saved it to my SAP server machine on it's C:drive.
Thank you very much for any help and info.
    Matt

Hi, I worked out how to do it. I had to first enable the Crystal Add on from within SAP and then open the Crystal Reports Administration menu under Administration and then select "Manage Crystal Reports". From there you can browse to the report you have created and select the module for where you want it to appear under in SAP.

1588667 - SAP on AWS: Overview of related SAP Notes and Web-Links
After researching a bit I came across the below Information:
Build your own SAP environment on AWS
AWS and SAP have collaborated to offer customers options and convenience when deploying SAP applications in the cloud. Customers can now license SAP applications to run in the AWS cloud computing environment from an authorized SAP reseller, or use their existing SAP software licenses on Amazon EC2, with no additional SAP license fees. AWS cloud infrastructure services can be purchased directly from AWS or through one of our Resellers. SAP software licenses are sold directly by SAP or their affiliated channel partners. System integration, deployment, and hosting services are available through SAP partners and AWS Solution Providers.
The following are the steps required to get started building your own SAP environment on AWS:
    Step 0: Planning
In order to properly size and configure SAP solutions on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) instances, customers should follow these guidelines established by SAP and AWS
    Use the SAP Quick Sizer
Follow the technical guidelines outlined in SAP Note 1588667
    Step 1: New to AWS?
Sign up for an AWS Account
Read the Getting Started with AWS Guide
Step 2: Implement the Required Compute, Storage, and Network Resources
For detailed information and best practice guidelines on the steps necessary to implement SAP solutions on the required AWS infrastructure for an SAP environment please read the Implementing SAP Solutions on AWS Guide.
Step 3: How to Install/Deploy SAP Solutions
The AWS Management Console provides an easy-to-use graphical interface to manage your compute, storage, and other cloud resources. Most AWS products can be used from inside the console, and the console supports the majority of functionality for each service.
To begin to install SAP software on Amazon EC2 start with a base Windows Server, SUSE Linux Enterprise or Red Hat Enterprise Linux system image and then install the SAP software just as you would on any physical or virtual server.
Automate your deployment or launch directly into your AWS account using the SAP HANA on the AWS Cloud Quick Start Reference Deployment, which serves as a reference and provides architectural considerations and configuration steps necessary for deploying SAP HANA on AWS utilizing a “Bring Your Own License (BYOL)” scenario.
Step 4: Run SAP Solutions on AWS
Now that you have installed the software on the AWS cloud, there are special considerations that need to be taken into account to run SAP solutions on AWS.

  • How my client can acces to my web Services??

We want buy Oracle9iAS and we want know How our clients can access aour web services? They need some special software? or just need to send us a XML?
    Thanks

As long as they can send standard XML based SOAP messages, Oracle can handle it. Interoperability based on standards is critical for the team building Web services into the Oracle environment.
Backing that up, here is some pointers. Oracle belongs to both the Web Services Interoperability (WS-I) group (actually was a founding member along with IBM and Microsoft - http://www.ws-i.org) and SOAPBuilders (which is an ad-hoc consortium of several dozen vendors working on interoperability - http://ws-interop.oracle.com/soapbuilder/). One of our roles on the WS-I team is working on building a reference implementation of the WS-I Basic profile (specific versions of SOAP, WSDL and UDDI) which will be used to show interoperability amongst vendors in the WS-I.
If you download the developer preview of Oracle9iAS Containers for J2EE (see: http://otn.oracle.com/tech/java/oc4j/content.html) you will see it includes the SOAPBuilders interoperability test showing this so you can test it out yourself.
To see which standards groups Oracle belongs to, check out this page - in the Java space we participate in over 68 Java Specification Requests and more every day - but we also belong to W3C, OASIS and dozens of other standards groups and take that participation very seriously: http://otn.oracle.com/tech/xml/htdocs/standard.html
Finally, to see how your partners can test in an Oracle Web services environment independent of any special software, check out the latest demo put up a few days ago showing the built in tester that comes with any Web service published on Oracle9iAS - you get a Web page which lets you pass in parameters and try the Web service out on the fly. This tutorial happens to be publishing PL/SQL as a Web service but the same applies if you publish an EJB, JMS queue, or Java class as a Web service (see step 24):

  • ABAP Proxy viewing of historical web service posts - XML files

    Hi there
I have developed a web service that posts via an ABAP proxy.  The webservice posts successfully.  Where do I see the historical XML files of the posts of my executed webservices?
    Kind Regards
    Gustav Coleske

    Hello Torsten,
It seems that the Web Service You are going to consume is a SOAP 1.2 one.
It is apparently making use of the so-called "SOAP Web Method Feature" which is part of the SOAP 1.2 specification (see [Web Method Feature (W3C)|http://www.w3.org/TR/soap12-part2/#WebMethodFeature]).
Unfortunately, SOAP 1.2 is, to the best of my knowledge, not supported as yet by the SOAP Adapter in SAP NW 7.0 / 7.1. That leaves You, in theory, with one of the following options:
    - It might be possible to consume that service with the help of Axis framework (see [Using the Axis Framework in the SOAP Adapter|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/45/a4f8bbdfdc0d36e10000000a114a6b/frameset.htm]). SAP Help states that with the help of the Axis framework SOAP 1.2 can be used. However, there are no further details on that subject, especially whether Web Method feature can be utilised (btw - has anyone tried this?).
    - Ask service provider for a SOAP 1.1-compatible WSDL.
    - Attempt to reverse engineer the SAP SOAP proxy so that it is capable of consuming a SOAP 1.2 Web Method-based web service (has anyone done this before?).
Would You be so kind to post whether, and how, You were able to consume this web service?
    Kind regards

  • Publish PL/SQL procedures as web services?

I am investigating JDeveloper for possible use in a project we are starting. We already have existing PL/SQL Procedures that we want to use and I have done a prototype using XSQL and OWA in JDeveloper 9i Candidate version. I am trying to figure out what the changes and improvements are in the most recent version of JDeveloper. On this page http://technet.oracle.com/products/jdev/htdocs/jdev903_fo.html#web_services it says there is broader support for Publishing PL/SQL procedures as web services. Is there any more information out there on this? What exactly has been improved and what are the current limitations. I did find some documentation in the Oracle9i Application Server Developers Guide on the limitations (release 2 (9.0.2) http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/A97329_01/web.902/a95453/plsqlservices.htm#1030066 Do I assume this is the same limitations for JDeveloper since the Oracle9iAS included with it? I am getting confused by all this documentation.
    Thanks for any help
    Natalie

    Natalie,
Please take a look at the tutorials on
    http://otn.oracle.com/tech/webservices/database.html
Also, read the Web Service discussion forum where you will find some useful hints. Using 9.2.x DB, OC4J 9.0.4 and JDev9.0.3.1 it is really funny to start publishing PL/SQL as Web Service.

  • How to integrate Microsoft and SAP using Web Services?

    Hi All
How to integrate Microsoft and SAP using Web Services? If any one has document please send it to me. My id is [email protected]... Please
    Help me
    Best Regards
    Ravi Shankar

    Hi Ravi,
This is for Customizing Email and Other Web Services.
    Create addresses
The address maintenance of R/3 users is carried out either via the R/3 User Maintenance (Transaction SU01) or the Private office settings (Transaction SO12):
    Address --> Other communication...
Selection of the required communication service.
    Enter address.
    Copy or save.
    b) Configuration of SAPconnect (Transaction SCOT)
    Set communication method
    4.0 + 4.5: Goto --> Customizing --> Communication methods
as of 4.6: Settings --> Communication methods
Set the method of the required communication service to the value 'SAPCONNECT' and save the setting.
Customized the same for Internet mailing.
    C) If you want to Transfer Table Structure Values from SAP R/3 to Web Services then
           1. Create BAPI and Transfer whichever things you want.(Note: The Structure
of BAPI should be similar to Web Structure (Datatypes).
           2. Create a BDC and Schedule it in the Background.
Hope it helps you, Awaiting for the Reward Points.

  • Cannot run "Publish PL/SQL as a Web Service" example

    Hello!
I have Oracle 8.1.7 AS and 9i JDeveloper running on Windows 2000. I'm trying to run the "Publish PL/SQL as a Web Service" example, but am encountering errors I believe are related to my hostname/IP address/DNS entry. Of course, I could be wrong.
    Here is some information:
    ==========================================================
    1. I was able to successfully initialize Containers for J2EE. However, when I was trying to deploy the PL/SQL example, it inserted this information:
    C:\oracle\jdev9i\j2ee\home>C:\oracle\jdev9i\jdk\bin\java.exe -jar C:\oracle\jdev9i\j2ee\home\oc4j.jar
    Node started with id=-1753996682
    Oracle9iAS (9.0.3.0.0) Containers for J2EE initialized
Error updating application PLSQL-PLSQL-WS: Error loading web-app 'WebServices' at
    C:\oracle\jdev9i\j2ee\home\applications\PLSQL-PLSQL-WS\WebServices:
    resource-ref 'jdbc/testCoreDS' referenced from resource-ref-mapping not found
    ==========================================================
    2. I went through the instructions from the website, and when I began the deployment process it generated this information:
    ---- Deployment started. ---- Jan 17, 2003 1:20:27 PM
Wrote WAR file to C:\oracle\jdev9i\jdev\plsql-webexample\Project1\WebSe[i]Long postings are being truncated to ~1 kB at this time.

Couple of suggestions despite your post being cut off with what might be useful information (please post the rest if these suggestions don't help):
    1. There are some bugs with Personal Oracle and Web services, notably Oracle9i Personal that may apply also to 8.1.7. If you have a MetaLink account it is logged as bug 2591731.
    2. As you are using your local machine, make sure your proxies are turned off (Tools-Preferences Web Browser/Proxy)
    3. I've noticed problems when folks use a JDK with a version lower than 1.3.1_02 to run OC4J - it is certified only with 1.3.1_02 or higher. If you are using the built-in JDeveloper JDK to start up OC4J (e.g. <Jdev_home>\jdk\bin\java.exe) you should be fine. But if you are just typing in java -jar oc4j.jar it is worth checking. Check the your default JDK version by typing in: java -version. If it is lower, then download a new version from http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/download.html.
    4. For level setting it is best to be using build 1035 of JDeveloper, the current production release and either the OC4J embedded in it or the stand-alone version here on OTN.
Hope these point in the right direction.
    Mike.
