How to reach the right webserver?

Hello,
Ik have one Mac OS X 10.4 server and one Mac OS 10,5 server. They both drive each one website. I have one external fixed IP address. Hoe can a request for one website reach the right server? Now all traffic comes into the first server. So www.a.com reaches www.a.om, but a request for www.b.com also reaches www.a.com.
Any suggestions on this toppic?
Thanks in advance!

IP delivers the traffic to the IP box (host, router, NAT box, etc) that matches the target IP address. The name does not factor into the IP routing. The involvement of the name occurs when the source host translates the name to the address using DNS.
Or when Apache on the target IP host looks at the arriving http protocol headers inside the arriving packet and at the name in extended http/1.0 and in all http/1.1, as part of virtual hosting. But that's too late for you here.
IP routing does not look inside the packets for the contents of the http headers as part of its packet routing, which is at the root of your issue here.
The simplest way is to have unique IP addresses for the www.a.com and www.b.com hosts.
Apache virtual hosting allows more than one web site to share an ip host address and differentiate by host name, though I'm not aware of a way to run virtual hosting across multiple hosts within the context of the Mac OS X Server host software itself.
There's probably a web traffic balancing appliance that could do this by sniffing the http traffic, but that's probably more than you want to spend here as compared with a second IP address.
Another option is to have both sites hosted and running on both hosts, and have the traffic sent to whichever happens to be next in line, or with Mac OS X Server configured in a primary-secondary scheme with [IP failover|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305066].
Here's the [Apache documentation on name-based virtual hosting|http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/vhosts/name-based.html].

    Note that your System Details List shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize prefs each time Firefox starts.
    The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created this file and normally it wouldn't be there.
    You can check its content with a plain text editor (right-click: Open with) if you didn't create this file yourself.
    The user.js file is read each time Firefox is started and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so preferences set via user.js can only be changed temporarily for the current session.

    There is an option in your Lightroom preferences on the General tab, "Treat JPEG files next to raw files as separate images". If you have that option checked then Lightroom will import and display both your raw and JPEG files. Are you using active D-lighting on your camera? If you are then you need to turn off that feature.

  • Facing Strange Problem in DIR HOW TO DISABLE THE RIGHT CLICK MOUSE IN THE DIRECTOR? (through parent script/ movie?)

    Summary : HARD QUESTION : In the DIR file, the game runs well, right click = no effect. Coz I'm not making right click scripts. BUT in EXE file, right click = ERROR.
    Explanation :
    In the Adobe Director screen, this DIR file game is worked 100%.
    I tested right click EVERYWHERE... NOTHING HAPPENS.
    Because I don't make any programming with "on rightmouseup" or "on rightmousedown" command.
    THEN, I published it into EXE...
    I tested right click EVERYWHERE...I hoped the result will be the same as DIR tests....
    WHEN I RIGHT CLICK IN THE AREA THAT'S GIVEN ON EXITFRAME ME, IT SHOWS ERROR, CHANGING PICTURES.....
    this does not happened in the DIR file...
    I didn't make a runmode program or anything else.... This is awkward... mystery for me...
    WHY THERE'S A DIFFERENCE IN DIR and EXE... it should be exactly the same result.
    I have used Director for years.... This is really strange for me...
    >>>>>>>>HOW TO DISABLE THE RIGHT CLICK MOUSE IN THE DIRECTOR?
    THIS ONE is useless.... It doesn't prevent the rightmouse click,...
          on rightmouseup me
                 nothing
         end
          on rightmousedown me
                 nothing
         end

    Dear Adobe Forums friends
    I need your help and guide through this problem...
    In the game's dir file that is run on the DIRECTOR softwawre,
    the game runs perfectly, I can do LEFT CLICKS (coz I programmed the script)
    and when I do RIGHT CLICKS = there are no effect ( coz I don't do script for it)
    LATER THIS GAME TURNED INTO EXE.
    It supposed to run like the dir file as ABOVE. BUT STRANGELY, WHEN
    I DO RIGHT CLICKS, it turns Error and showing as the picture attachment.
    The right clicks that goes error are above the picture of numeric button only. (in DIR file
    this run normal). I looked into the script behind the numeric button picture, there are only "on exitframe me", there are no script I made inside the "on exitframe me" that is triggering RIGHT CLICKS.
    1. I wonder why there are differences in DIR and EXE effect
    2. Why right click? Left click effects are all normal.
    3. IS THERE ANY WAY TO DISABLE ALL RIGHT CLICKs since the beginning of EXE. So the game will be run normal. I don't need right clicks anyway, but whenever people do right click there will be ERROR.??
    4. Is there any way to STOP THE MESSSAGE BOX TO APPEAR IN FRONT OF THE GAME? (I hate the Dirrector Error Message Box), or auto press OK.
    NB: this game uses Buddy API Xtras, File IO Xtras.

    74 CDRs /see Processing.
    This time I Have A problem that I need server to run this tool and I am not getting that how I calculate the right server so that I can get the result upto 500 CDRs/see
    How Much CPU I need and How Much Ram I Needed. As per My Knowledge this can run fine on 2*2.4 GHz dual core CPU with 8GB ram.
    Is it Fine,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
    Can anyone Help to Find Right System for this tool.

    Your post is hard/annoying to read. In English only the start of a sentence is capitalized. There is no need to capitalize every word within a sentence, unless required otherwise, like the pronoun "I" or the person/product names, e.g. "John Doe" and "Java".
    Apart from that, your question has nothing to do with Java at all. Look for a CDR software forum or so.

  • How to find the right primary key for DSO from Business Content

    According to best practice design, it is reccomended to make a  DSO where all fields from Business COntent Datasources are transferred.
    But, how to find the right primary indeks ?
    Any good suggestions ?
    For many of the Business Content dataflows there are not DSOs present, so ther e is no tip to get from the dokumentations as gfar as I have found.
    best Regards
    Ingrid

    Hi Ingrid,
    Your question will be perfect in case if you are going for a Custom cube.
    You will not have any problem when you create a Datasource in R/3 level even if it is been built on a single table or on view.
    Only point that you want to know how to design my Key fields in ODS.
    This will be purely depends at what level that you want to bring the data.
    Egg:-
    If you run the data source in RSA3 and check for Each GL if you have 10 liine items and you want all the 10 line items to be transfered to BW.
    In this case you need to check what is the unique combination of fields that is making this lineitems to exists as 10.then include all those fields into Your ODS Key Fields.
    This way you can have 10 records for that perticular GL in both sides, by which u will make sure that the data is been completely transfered.
    If in case if you clude your own Key fields then you will get the correct Total in report for each GL but you can't see all those 10 line items.
    For any case you need to figureout how many records that you want to take into BW based on that check the fields that makes it unique and then add them to ODS Keyfields that will solve your requirement.
    I think this will clear your doubt.
    Best Regards,
    VNK.

  • How we use the rights on LOV

    Hi,
    How we use the rights on LOV to filter.

    What you need to do is to edit the LOV sql (assuming it is custom folder) and insert there some
    kind of security mechanism.
    Also you can create dependencies in the parameters so that if you will select on the "Region" parameter the value of "New York" when opening the values for "Departments" you will get only the relevant departments.
    This can be done in the parameters definition, you can choose there to limit the results according to another condition. (note that it might create some performance issues)

    Hi,
    Can any one help me to identify the right cRIO model.
    I want to choose the cRIO processor for an application. The cRIO- 9025, has processor of 800 MHz speed. Where as there is another cRIO model which comes with 400 MHz of the processor.
    How do I decide which model to choose?
    The mathematical calculations will help me to reach at a conclusion. I am not sure how to go ahead with the mathematical calculations.
    Can any one advise me on this.
    ThanX

    I don't think you will get any mathematical calculations telling you witch cRIO you have to use based on the level of information you have given.
    I don't think there are any mathematical calculations to decide witch cRIO a user can use.
    You need to give a lot more information about what you are going to use cRIO for, before anyone can give you an advice.
    What does you setup look like ?
    Wwitch modules are going in the cRIO ?
    What are they doing ( input/output )?
    Are the cRIO interacting witch external systems?
    Are the cRIO only collecting data ? How fast ?
    What operation are the cRIO going to do ?
    Just a fewe of the questions you need to ask yourself.

  • How to find the right kstat info & interpret it ?

    Having found out how to read the kstat structures I am
    still struggling with finding the right information which
    makes sense!
    I am interested in the following statistics:
    0. Swap Space - similar to that reported by swap
    1. Scan rate similar to that reported by vmstat
    2. Handspread page (see Adrian Cockcrofts' performance monitoring articles)
    3. Disk Space Usage - similar to df -k
    4. Process memory usage -- ps
    5. System Error Messages -- this may not be possible to read at all
    from kstat. Probably here I will have to make do with reading /var/adm/messages
    6. Disk Errors -- similar to iostat -E (Solaris 2.6 onwards)
    7. Ethernet stats -- like netstat -I le0
    I found the following article on SunSolve Online: FAQ 1230 'Three Virtual Memory Performance Monitors' which directs me to some of the kstat cell
    types.
    I started with swap space. The above article plus a few other pointers seemed to indicate the the
    correct kstat struct and field to use here was vminfo.swap_avail
    When I compared the figures dumped from this structure with those reported by vmstat & swap they
    did not compare! eg.
    kstat: vminfo.swap_avail 321393372929
    kstat: vminfo.swap_free 33339822544
    vmstat unix tool:
    swap avail (KB) 19932
    Furthermore sysinfo.h indicates that vminfo.swap_avail is expressed in pages.
    1 page = 4.096 KB, so the kstat figures should be multiplied by 4 which makes
    the comparison even worse. Whilst I don't expect the figures to be
    an exact match -- I was hoping they would be in the same ball-park,
    Next I tried page in/page out rate
    Here I compared:
    kstat: cpu_vminfo.pgpgin 473224
    kstat: cpu_vminfo.pgpgout 14554
    vmstat unix tool:
    pi (page in) 4
    po (page out) 0
    These figures sort of match up, if you take the most sig digit in
    vminfo.
    I was wondering if anyone has a definitive list on what are the best
    kstat fields to use -- and if any wierd and wonderful calculations must
    be performed on any of them to get figures close to that supplied by
    the familiar unix tools.

    Hi!
    I wrote a quick program to read the vminfo stats and like you saw completely crazy figures. I looked further into this and found that every second, the system clock routine adds the freemem, swap and so on to a cumulative total.
    To put it another way, the figure you see for free memory is the sum total of the value of freemem sampled every second since your system booted.
    Thus, to get the average freemem in pages since boot, you need to read the value of freemem and divide by the number of seconds since boot.
    You can derive the number of seconds in two ways from the kstats:
    (1) read lbolt (incremented every 100th sec) and divide by 100 (hz)
    or (2) read sysinfo.updates (which is incremented every time the kstats are updated).
    I have attached a sample program that demonstrates both of these and reports average freemem since boot in K (like vmstat).
    Similarly, to get a 5 second average, take two readings of freemem and sysinfo.updates five seconds apart , then calculate
    (freemem2-freemem1)/(updates2-updates1)
    It seems most, if not all, of the system counters are cumulative in this fashion.
    Hope that helps.

  • How to choose the right project settings?

    I'm new in taking video's and in editing them. I bought a Sanyo HD Xacti Video camera and made a lot of clips in my last holiday. The clips are transferred to my compter and have the format .MP4 1280-720 depth 1280 and 29,97 fps.
    I want to create after editing en DVD which I can show on my TV 16:9 (PAL-Netherlands)
    When I create a new project I have to choose the seetings and I really do not know how to choose!!
    What Project settings should I choose because in the settings I only see 30 fps under de NTSC systems. Is there some where a general explanation how to do?
    Help will be appreciated very much!!
    Greetings Willem

    Before the NTSC to PAL, I believe there are other major considerations.
    1. You are recording 720p30 1280 x 720 16:9 at 30 frames per second, using the MPEG-AVC/H.264 codec). That sounds to me like your are dealing with what they call "AVCHD-Lite". If so, there are major basic problems editing that in Premiere Elements 7. See Steve Grisetti's FAQ
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/454585?tstart=0
    2. Your remarks would suggest that you want to create at DVD-VIDEO widescree (16:9) of your Timeline.
    3. So before all else, I would determine if you can successful bring your video into Premiere Elements 7 and export the DVD-VIDEO in the NTSC system before you think about converting an NTSC video to a PAL end product.
    4. Typically you select the project preset (new project dialog) to match the properties of your video. Once done that does not stop you from changing the export preset later. In the case of your NTSC 720p30 Sanyo video, I would suggest the project preset (new project dialog) = NTSC HDV HDV 720p30. Think of the project preset as a template from which you can edit your video. Although this 720p is a variant of AVCHD, I suggest the HDV category since there is no 720p preset under AVCHD. Note that the descriptions to the right of where you set the preset.
    5. In Share/Disc/Disc, in the Burn Dialog, then select the preset: NTSC_Widecreen_Dolby DVD. If that is all completed successfully then we can talk about conversion of NTSC 1280 x 720 16:9 to a PAL DVD-VIDEO (720 x 576 25 frames per second with a 16:9 flag to stretch the video on display after encoding).

    We use a Servlet "filter" (not the Servlet 2.3 sense, but a 2.2 servlet that
    does a RequestDispatch.forward())
    This filter selects the most appropriate JSP page (using a similar naming
    convention to the one you indicate), then server-side forwards to it. Works

    private JPanel jPanel1 = new JPanel();
    it works but i used the pictures in the file that is already with the jframe.
    i want to add other image, i've already add them on my project but my problem is it is located to another folder. the miscelleanous files folder. if i used the same code, there are errors.
    i want to know the right path in how i can use those images in that folder.
    thanks in advance
    pls reply as soon as possible... i really need this one.

    Hello,
    I think the way to make your images/icons work in your jclient app,
    is to use such a code (test it):
    Class c = Class.forName("YourList.YourListWindowFrame");
    java.net.URL testt = c.getResource("create.gif");
    ImageIcon imageCreate = new ImageIcon(testt);
    if ( imageCreate != null)
    buttonCreate.setIcon(imageCreate);
    But this only works if you copy your icon (create.gif ) into your class directory
    YourList/classes/YourList. This is if your output directory in your project Settings
    is set to YourList/classes and the package is YourList.
    Even if your additional class path is set to YourList/classes and you try to set
    your additional class path to YourList/icons, your icons are not found.
    It looks like JDeveloper is only looking in your output sub directories.
    When you build your application, your gif files are "copied" to your output directory:
    YourList/classes.
    So, you will have to manually put the icons in your class/packages to make this work.
    The idea is that the image files need to be in the same dir as the Java
    class file that loads them. Therefore, the best way to do that is to have
    an ImageLoader class that is in the same folder as the images one:
    public class ImageLoader
    public ImageLoader()
    public ImageIcon getImageIcon(String name)
    return new ImageIcon(getClass().getResource(name + ".gif"));
    and would be called like this:
    mButtonButton.setIcon(imgl.getImageIcon("JButton"));
    http://otn.oracle.com/sample_code/products/jdev/jclient/jclient_binding_demo.html
    There you will find a jClient Component Demo that has this code you can use.
    (its a pretty cool and extensive demo ... he can look at files ImageLoader.java
    and StartFrame.java to see how that particular coding is done.)

  • How to identify the right Install Disc Version for a specific mac model???

    Hello
    i hope someone here can help me here...
    I have 12 mac mini's and about 20 Packs of the original OSX 10.4.x CD'/DVD's (the grey ones).
    How can i find out witch CD (and AHT) is the right one for witch mac mini model? They all have the line 'mac mini' but the are different Versions of OS and AHT and every time when i try this i get the wrong one for a specific model.
    I have been looking for more detailed informations but can't find anything!?
    Any Idea?
    Why Apple does not provide a table with all Model Numbers and e.g. the fitting AHT Versions?
    Heeeelp pleeeeease - i am going crazy here...
    Thank's !

    Hello iKing
    Apple keeps that info close to its chest, because the whole idea of the grey disks is to limit their currency as potential upgrade disks in the secondhand market.
    So rather than post here in this user's forum, instead contact Apple and explain your problem and provide the serial numbers of your Mac minis and Apple should be able to tell you the corresponding version numbers of the relevant disks.
    And after, I'd suggest use a texta/soft marker pen on the CD/DVD's to pair them with their hardware.
