I wanted to read a data from XL file and write a data in XL file by generating a report .Can any body help me out.Many examples are available on discussion forums but when I try to save and run those Vi .I am not able to run Showing error .Please tell what is going wrong as I m having latest labview 8.6 .

How to read and write a string into a txt.file

Hi, I am now using BEA Workshop for Weblogic Platform version10. I am using J2EE is my programming language. The problem I encounter is as the above title; how to read and write a string into a txt.file with a specific root directory? Do you have any sample codes to reference?

Accessing the file system directly from a web app is a bad idea for several reasons. See http://weblogs.java.net/blog/simongbrown/archive/2003/10/file_access_in.html for a great discussion of the topic.
On Weblogic there seems to be two ways to access files. First, use a File T3 connector from the console. Second, use java.net.URL with the file: protocol. The T3File object has been deprecated and suggests:
Deprecated in WebLogic Server 6.1. Use java.net.URL.openConnection() instead.

Using flex, we would like to make some utility that will do a
lot of reading and writing from local files.
The writing is what I am more worried about. How is this
possible?
I want to make .zip files containing many xml files, and some
assorted media files such as .swf jpeg, html, etc.
I am new to flex btw, I've never used it properly before, and
this is the main concern I have with flex, which is that it doesn't
let me write and read lots of files.
Mainly we are looking for a good cross platform solution that
will let us develop an app, and flex looks professional and it is
cross platform. The "internet app" side of things, isn't so much
what we need really.
Would wxWidgets be better suited to our needs?

The Path needs to be absolute:
For example in Unix it would look like:
/usr/paz/Test.txtIn Windows it would look like:

HELP!: How to read and write to External hard drives? What file system to use?

hey all, this has been really frustrating for me today. i want to be able to write to an external HDD that's formatted in NTFS. today i find out it isn't possible to write to this file system on a Mac and that on FAT32 it is possible. however, FAT32 can't address files larger than 4GB so this hurts me a lot. are there any other file systems that'll allow me to read and write from a Mac? my goal was to use freeNAS to build a NAS with an old tower and connect my external hard drives to it, but if i can't write to them this may not be possible.

Reading and writing from a file

I am trying to read and write to a file so that I may store an array of string and a double in my application, but I have come upon a couple of problems; first when I put my file path into the path constant it will say that the file is not there ever though it is (so I have to force the issue and when the application asks for a file I have to browse and add the files), secondly when I run the program and it reads from the file it does not display the strings or doubles immediately instead I have to hit the submit button and than they finally come up, thirdly when I reset my values in the .txt files and put in my string and double and hit submit the array jumps one spot and starts at the index of 1 (array[1]) if anyone can help I would appreciate it a lot.

I don't see that behavior at all about forcing the issue. Why are you using Not a Path constants? Why not turn those constants into controls you put on your front panel?

Put your array indicators before your event structure rather than after. Think dataflow. The code pauses at the event structure waiting for an even to fire. Only when it does (such as hitting the submit button) does the data get written to the array indicators.

I don't see this behavior either. How come your double.txt file has names in it, and your string.txt file has doubles in it?

I'm using kde as my de and dolphin does sees it but can't access it anyway. I didn't had problem so far on mounting usb drives it just automounts maybe because it is a fat partition not a ntfs? You will most likely need to rework your fstab. The one from my desktop is shown below. If you want regular users to be able to access the partition, then you will need to change the gid option as I have done. Although you could create a group just for people you want to have access.
You will need to know the device that your windows partition is held on of course. In my case it is my first hard disk, first partition, hence /dev/sda1.

My XP partition is set to mount automatically, as I regularly interchange documents between the OS's.

Are you sure that the input file (e.g. "Downloads/filetoberead.CSV") is in UTF-8 character set? You can also check it using some text editor having a view in hex mode. If each Cyrillic character in your input file occupies a single byte (instead of two), then the file is not in UTF-8. Most probably it is in Cyrillic for Windows (CP1251).
If this is the case, you should modify the line
