How to read file name in JavaMapping (not in MessageMapping)

Hi,
We all know that we can read a filename using dynamic configuration code in Message Mapping.
Now my question is how to acheive the same in pure Java Mapping.
Plz dont give me answers for Dynamic Configuration in MessageMapping.

We are using ODi10g version and we have requirement to move file from one place to another place. We are using ODIFileMove utility but we also want to read file name.

You can accomplish this with a fairly simple Jython script. Use the os.listdir(<directory>) command to get the name of files in a given directory.
You can then (still in the Jython script) loop through the files and move them to a desired location (bypassing the OdiFileMove tool) OR use the Jython script to write the file names to a SQL table. Then, use an ODI procedure to loop through the newly inserted records and store the file name in an ODI variable that you can then use in your OdiFileMove tool etc.

How to get file name using File adapter Sync read

Hi All,
I am using SOA 10.1.3.3 and JDEV 10.1.3.3.
I have an async bpel process.
I have to read file name in this process... so i have used file adapter sync read operation.
How can we get the file name with out payload using sync read.
For normal read (Inbound Spec)we have UseHeaders="true" property.
Is there any property for sync read to read the file name.
Please help me

I have an SSIS task that has run successfully for years. They just moved the dtsx to a new server and now it is failing.
Issue:
The task has a data flow that writes a raw file destination. It then has a subsequent data flow that reads the raw file destination.
The path and name of the raw file is passed to each of the data flows via the same variable.
The raw file resides in a folder on the server in the same path that the dtsx resides in.
The task fails with the "The File name property is not valid. The file name is a device or contains invalid characters" error when trying to access the raw file.
What we have done to troubleshoot:
1. I ran the task successfully on my local machine so it is definitely a server issue.
2. The first thing we were seeing was that it failed trying to write to the raw file. The task is set to "Create Always".
3. We saw that the dba's copied over the entire directory structure from the old server which included a previously created raw file, so we deleted the raw file.
4. We reran the task and it successfully wrote a new raw file but then failed on reading the raw file with the same error as above.
5. We reran the task AGAIN and this time it failed trying to write the raw file throwing the same error as above.
6. The dba looked at the directory and the account that performs the task has full control.
7. The dba looked at the raw file that was created and verified that the account that performs the task has full control of the file and that it is the owner of the file.
Summary:
The task fails when trying to access the file EXCEPT when the file does not exist. In that situation it can write the file but subsequently fails in accessing it again.

Based on my research, the issue can be caused by the following reasons:
There are some invalid characters in the File name at package runtime. In this scenario, just as Russ said, could you please post the value that is in the File name variable? Also use a Script Task with Messagebox.show to show the variable values at runtime.
May be it changes to others at run time.
The account runs the package not having access to all the folders in the path. Since you are moving the dtsx file from one server to the current server, do you also move the raw file to the same folder in the current server? Does the user runs the package
have access to all the folders in the path? To solve this, please ensure that the user has access to all folders and the raw file in the path on the current server.

Please see the response above. I can't use a message box on a server so I logged the values to the database. The resource account has full control to the folder. I haven't been able to get the DBA to check the SQL Agents permissions, but I was always under
the impression that if you use "Run As" on the task, it will not use the SQL Agent but the account you identify it to "Run As". The "Run As" account has full control on the folder and file.

I am a new macbook user forced to give up Digital Image Pro (winXP), and looking for a photo program that sorts BY NAME. REPEAT BY NAME.
I was ready to purchase PSE11, but luckily I read this forum and saw that in your infinite wisdom you spared every expense and removed this function.
I have no need for face recognition, type of photo, etc.
Should I abandon 15 years of files all sorted by where they were taken?
I think not. For you to do this to previous owners shows a blatant disregard for them.
I will look elsewhere and not to a Photoshop product.
Should you provide an update that corrects this I would consider installing it on my 2 new Apple machines. Hurry though......

How to place file names with thumbnails?

I have several thousand images that need to go online but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to add file names to the thubnails. Every bit of documentation I've read talks about adding it to the larger images only. I figured that part out but can't I have file names for the thumbnails too?

Bummer. I was hoping for a secret key to take me there. I have too
many images that can be scanned via thumbnails and for the detail
shots they can go larger. There is no way I can use this as it is with

Reading file name

i used the step by step guide to develop a module for reading file name in a sender file adapter from Krishnakumar Ramamoorthy. (Thankyou very much for that guide)
now when i use this module i get only one problem:
the filename includes the source-dir as well.
e.g.
source-dir: /home/example
filename: test.txt
Filename in module: /home/example/test.txt
why is the source-path included in the Filename?

you can always delete this inside your mapping:
for instance trim the first 13 letters from /home/example
then if your directory is always the same you'll have a filename only

I know if it's file sender channel, then we can read file name by writing a UDF. But just wondering about MDM sender adapter.

How to delete file names from Adobe Reader list

How can I delete file names from the Adobe Reader list? I have deleted the file & it's empty, but deleted file names remain in my list & it's very annoying. I can't seem to find an option anywhere to delete the file names.

I have set the amount to zero, & it seems if I want to put back valid files into my list I first need to find them in another file in my pc, such as documents, open them in Adobe Reader, & then then they will reappear in the Adobe Reader list. This seems to be the case, you need to restore each file you want in your list one by one by accessing them elsewhere on your pc, & then you must open them with Adobe Reader to have files reappear in your Adobe Reader list. However, this seems to be a tedious process if you only want to delete one obsolete file from your list by first emptying the list & rebuilding it file by file. It works, but I'm wondering if there is a more sensible & efficient way to do this?

How to read the name of .csv file from a particular folder using Oracle.

I have a folder called 'data_dir' in Oracle Server and it contains 10 different .csv files and the name of the each file is being suffixed by date and time(24 hrs format).
First i need to read all the file names then i have to process those files by UTL_FILE to load the data into a relational table.
Is there any mechanism is available in Oracle to read the file names?
(In this case all the 10 different csv file names)
If so, then please help me accomplish this.

How can transfer the read file name via own developed adapter module

Yes, its possible.
In your receive activity,set below property in its properties tab:
<bpelx:property name="jca.file.FileName" variable="FileName"/>
Before that make sure to create a variable "FileName" of string type.
Whatever file your file adapter will read,its name will be stored in this variable.

Can anyone kindly give me an approach to use a variable in a sql loader ctl file. I am trying to add the value before each insert of row and this value is the file name. Hi,
Now it is working just well.
I kept 2 variables: one with the POSIX file path for my do shell script and another one (using the provided tip here) for the Applescript function.
The only problem I had left was that teh file was writen in, maybe, UTF8 so I added to the open for access a "as text" at the end to make the file as straith text file.
I always found languages like Applescript a little bit hard to learn. Strangely, I have less difficulty with Cocoa!
