How to read multiple documents from a system directory?

Hi,
I'm trying to read multiple documents from a specific folder that contains pdfs, jpgs... the only activity I found is the Read Document, but this activity does not have the option to read all docs under my folder!.
so any one can tell me if there is another activity can do it or is there any good solution to loop on the folder and read all the docs? any script will be helpful.
Thanks
Hussam

Hi,
After many hours of searching and readings, I found a solution, I do not know if it is the best, but  anyhow this is my solution:
By using a service operation called "Find" from a service named "FileUtilsService", this operation will return a list of strings with the names of all files and/or directories under the path you want.
Then by using the "Read Document"  I was able to get one file and store it in a dcoumnet variable, and by using a simple looping technique I got all  the files I want.
hope this will help others

    Hi,experts,
    I want to finish webdynpro for abap program to read some photos from file system. I may make MIMES in the webdynpro component and create photos in the MIMES, but my boss doesn't agree with me using this way. He wish me read these photos from file system.
    How to read some images from file system with webdynpro for abap?
    Thanks a lot!

    Hello Tao,
    The parameter
       icm/HTTP/file_access_<xx>
    may help you to access the pictures without any db-access.
    The following two links may help you to understand the other possibilities as well.
    The threads are covering BSP, but it should be useful for WebDynpro as well.

    could any one light me how to do this ???
    Thank you in advance

    Hi Ahmed,
    Talk to your middleware team, They will upload the data through RFC.
    Basiclly RFC(Remote function call) works like it will call the function module and then upload the data.
    For more information, check the link given below.

  • How to read multiple lines from a command prompt?

    I usually read from a command prompt like this:
    String answer;
    System.out.println("Please enter the required data");
    try {
    BufferedReader reader = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in));
    answer = reader.readLine();
    reader = null;
    } catch (Exception e) {
    System.out.println("There was an exception trying to read " + e);
    answer = "";
    This has worked fine for years when all I wanted was one line answers.
    Now I am trying to prompt for multiple line answers. Is there a way to read into a string array rather than just a string? What class would I use for that?
    Thanks a lot!

    The easiest approaches would be to read a line at a time until you've read enough lines, whether by a known fixed line count, or a token count, or by reading some sentinel toek, OR read a token at a time using Scanner.next() until you've determined you're done. Which one is more appropriate depends on your situation.

  • How to read multiple voltages from DAQ at same time?

      Hello all,
      I am attempting to read multiple voltage inputs to my USB-6008 DAQ but when I try to read a second voltage, I get an error saying "Erorr 50103 the resource is reserved." Someone in another thread said:
    "The reserved resource is your DAQ board. You should not be using two separate simultaneous tasks for the same DAQ board. You should use a single task with two channels configured."
    So I made multiple channels in one task, but I don't want to read all the channels at once. Is there a way to specify which channel of the task to read? Or is it not possible to acquire multiple voltages from the DAQ at all?
    So the question boils down to: if you have 3 different voltage inputs into your DAQ, all corresponding to different components, is there a way to be tracking and reading all of them at the same time?
    Thanks a lot

    I don't understand your question.  You made a task to read all the channels at once, but you do not want to read all the channels at once?  And you want to track and read all the channels at the same time?
    You need to explain it a little bit better and add some code of what you have done so far.  A task will read all the channels in the task and give you the results so you can track them.  So I am confused.

  • How to transfer payment document from feeder system to GTS system

    Hello Colleagues,
    I encounter a problem about how to transfer payment. As you know, we have a standard processes to involve like sales order, delivery, purchase order into GTS. But I cannot find any documentation to introduce the related payment.
    Could you give any clue to guide payment transfer?
    Thanks a lot,
    Boer

    Hi Boer
    I was having the same problem below is what needs to be done.
    GTS blocks the Payment run procedure when a BP is included in the SPL.
    ECC Config - Financial Global Settings/Check in SAP GTS for FI/Activate Check for GTS.- This will activate the Transfer
    In GTS below has to be maintained.(These functions, doc types and Item catg are hard coded so use the below)
    Partners -
    FIACN     Account Number
    FIACO     Account Holder
    FICOM     Nt to Payee
    FIDEB     Customer(FI)
    FIKRE     Vendor(FI)
    FIPAB     Bank(FI)
    FIPAY     Payee(FI)
    FIREG     Payer(FI)
    Doc Type
    FIIN - Incoming
    FIOUT - Outgoing
    Item catg
    FI0A
    These all need to be linked to the same in the Feeder system.
    So basically when a proposal is created the Document goes to GTS and gets screened, and if found blacklisted during the Payment run it blocks.
    Hope the above was helpful.
    Cheers

  • How can I read pdf documents from SD card

    Is it (or will it be) possible to read pdf documents from SD card in Windows Phone 8?
    Thanks

    Yes, it is possible. You can create even a folder on SD card and put in it the pdf's. It is working on my lumia 620 with Adobe reader 10.3 version.. You insert the SD in the phone, connect the phone to the computer and you will see the phone and the SD under it.
    More....
    You drag your pdf's on the SD card. when you open the Adobe reader on the phone you go to the documents and here they are (with a small card icon near the document which shows you that the file is on the SD card.

       Now I looking for to retrieve this footer section data available in multiple rows from footer table and present it in jsp page .
    I am finding difficulties in how to show this multiple row data for dynamic no of rows .i.e. variable no. of rows.
    I have able to show the data in Header portions of page in this ways
    here i am adding the part of code which shows the data from header part of table i.e from Header table
      <html>

    Too much code. It's also not well intented nor formatted. I don't see a question either or it got lost in that heap of unformatted code.
    I will only answer the question in the thread's subject:
    How to retrieve multiple data from table and represent it in jsp pageTo retrieve, make use of HttpServletRequest#getParameterValues() and/or #getParameter().
    To display, make use of JSTL's c:forEach.

  • How to read appended objects from file with ObjectInputStream?

    Hi to everyone. I'm new to Java so my question may look really stupid to most of you but I couldn't fined a solution by myself... I wanted to make an application, something like address book that is storing information about different people. So I decided to make a class that will hold the information for each person (for example: nickname, name, e-mail, web address and so on), then using the ObjectOutputStream the information will be save to a file. If I want to add a new record for a new person I'll simply append it to the already existing file. So far so good but soon I discovered that I can not read the appended objects using ObjectInputStream.
    What I mean is that if I create new file and then in one session save several objects to it using ObjectOutputStream they all will be read with no problem by ObjectInputStream. But after that if in a new session I append new objects they won't be read. The ObjectInputStream will read the objects from the first session after that IOException will be generated and the reading will stop just before the appended objects from the second session.
    The following is just a simple test it's not actual code from the program I was talking about. Instead of objects containing different kind of information I'm using only strings here. To use the program use as arguments in the console "w" to create new file followed by the file name and the strings you want save to the file (as objects). Example: "+w TestFile.obj Thats Just A Test+". Then to read it use "r" (for reading), followed by the file name. Example "+r TestFile.obj+". As a result you'll see that all the strings that are saved in the file can be successfully read back. Then do the same: "+w TestFile.obj Thats Second Test+" and then read again "+r TestFile.obj+". What will happen is that the strings only from the first sessions will be read and the ones from the second session will not.
    I am sorry for making this that long but I couldn't explain it more simple. If someone can give me a solution I'll be happy to hear it! ^.^ I'll also be glad if someone propose different approach of the problem! Here is the code:
    import java.io.*;
    class Fio
         public static void main(String[] args)
              try
                   if (args[0].equals("w"))
                        FileOutputStream fos = new FileOutputStream(args[1], true);
                        ObjectOutputStream oos = new ObjectOutputStream(fos);
                        for (int i = 2; i < args.length ; i++)
                             oos.writeObject(args);
                        fos.close();
                   else if (args[0].equals("r"))
                        FileInputStream fis = new FileInputStream(args[1]);
                        ObjectInputStream ois = new ObjectInputStream(fis);
                        for (int i = 0; i < fis.available(); i++)
                             System.out.println((String)ois.readObject());
                        fis.close();
                   else
                        System.out.println("Wrong args!");
              catch (IndexOutOfBoundsException exc)
                   System.out.println("You must use \"w\" or \"r\" followed by the file name as args!");
              catch (IOException exc)
                   System.out.println("I/O exception appeard!");
              catch (ClassNotFoundException exc)
                   System.out.println("Can not find the needed class");

    How to read appended objects from file with ObjectInputStream? The short answer is you can't.
    The long answer is you can if you put some work into it. The general outline would be to create a file with a format that will allow the storage of multiple streams within it. If you use a RandomAccessFile, you can create a header containing the length. If you use streams, you'll have to use a block protocol. The reason for this is that I don't think ObjectInputStream is guaranteed to read the same number of bytes ObjectOutputStream writes to it (e.g., it could skip ending padding or such).
    Next, you'll need to create an object that can return more InputStream objects, one per stream written to the file.
    Not trivial, but that's how you'd do it.
