How to read the source table using a dblink in oracle

Hi,
I want to read data from a source table which I can access using dblink in the datawarehouse. I tried different things in DI and I don't know how to do that? Can any one help me on this?

Two options:
First you could create a view in the dwh database that is using that remote link: create or replace view r_source as select * from source@dblink.
Better option is to create the source system datastore - but I assume that exists already - and then go to the dwh datastore and say that there is a dblink of a given name with which the target database can read from the other database. DI then will execute a insert...select from source@dblink kind of statement whenever that is possible. In case no such full pushdown is possible and the data is going through the DI engine anyway, reading via the dblink does not make sense anyway.

Hi,
If you are using DC's then you can find the .Java files in the path
<project Name>\_comp\gen_wdp\packages\<Pacjage>\<ComponentName>\..
In the above path you can find the Java files of the controllers.

Never heared that dummy files are used anywhere in LSMW.
Exchange the file in step 7 Spcify files to the file of your choice.

How to Read the internal table for the data download from the spool

I have one issue regarding the spool ,we are getting the correct output as per requirement of user but when we send the same to the user in pdf format they did notget the same.
they are telling that the due date is missing from the pdf.
Please advice me how to track the internal table for the spool data converted intopdf in a readable format.
the FM used for the above task is :
call function 'CONVERT_OTFSPOOLJOB_2_PDF'

I want to read the source code of a method which is in a BAdi implementation.
I used SEO_METHOD_GET_SOURCE function module where I passed interface name as class and method name.
But I didn't get the source code. Is there any other function module of method to read the source code.

Hi Venkat,
You can still use the Function Module SEO_METHOD_GET_SOURCE with a small change in the parameter passing. It should be:
Paramaters:
MTDKEY-CLSNAME : <Implementaion Classname>
MTDKEY-CPDNAME: <Interfacename~methodname>
STATE : 'A' for active or 'I' for inactive
For example:
MTDKEY-CLSNAME :ZCL_IM_PLM_AUDIT_ALV_GRID
MTDKEY-CPDNAME: IF_EX_PLM_AUDIT_ALV_GRID~ON_USER_COMMAND
STATE: A
After executing you will get the source code in the form of string in the 'SOURCE' parameter.

Hi, I like to use the text tables in our application. And like to use the HSQL Database Engine as Standalone. I created the text tables, those are stored in the disk as ".CSV" files. But i am unable to read that text table (.CSV) when i relogin and gave the CSV file path as URL along with "jdbc:hsqldb:file". So can anybody give me the tips how use the text tables.

You need to make a URLConnection to the page you want, and get the input stream from that page.
The contents of the input stream (use a reader to get them) will give you the raw HTML code. Use a parser to get the actual content. I dont know of a parser offhand, but you can search for one.

For reading excel file follow the steps :
1. Use a File upload UI element and bind it with xstring.
2. Now your excel will be uploaded and stored in Xstring.
3. Convert Xstring to String data using FM 'HR_KR_XSTRING_TO_STRING'.
4. Now split the string at new line so as to make an internal table .
Ex . SPLIT l_string AT cl_abap_char_utilities=>newline INTO TABLE it_table.
here it_table is type table of string.
5.now loop at the internal table and separate the content of this table separated by tab.
Ex. SPLIT wa_table AT cl_abap_char_utilities=>horizontal_tab INTO TABLE it_new.
it_new type string_table.

Using SSIS:
Taking A
OLE DB Source----------------->OLE DB Destination
Am Taking 200 rows in Source table and loaded into Destination table once
Constraint: here once 200 rows are exported in destination table , that 200 rows are deleted in source table
repeat the task as source table all the records are loaded into Destination table
After that am taking another 200 rows in source table and loaded into Destination table

Provided you've a sequential primary key or audit timestamp (datetime/date) column in the table you can do an approach like this
1. Add a execute sql task connectng to source db with below statement
SELECT COUNT(*) FROM table
Store the result in a variable
2. Have another variable and set it to below expression
(@[User::CountVariable]/200) + (@[User::CountVariable]%200 >0? 1:0)
by setting EvaluatesExpression as true. Here CountVariable is variable created in previous step
3. Have a for loop container with below settings
InitExpression
@NewVariable = @CounterVariable
EvalExpression
@NewVariable > 0
AssignExpression
@NewVariable = @NewVariable - 1
3. Add a data flow task with OLEDB source and OLEDB Destination
4. Use source query as
SELECT TOP 200 columns...
FROM Table
ORDER BY [PK | AuditColumn]
Use PK or audit column depending which one is sequential
5. After data flow task have a execute sql task with statement as below
DELETE t
FROM (SELECT ROW_NUMBER() OVER (ORDER BY PK) AS Rn
FROM Table)t
WHERE Rn <= 200
This will make sure the 200 records gets deleted each time

Hi All,
I am struggling hard to make the hierarchial ALV, But could not do it.
Could you help me.
Actually I want the column to be hierarchial. For this i am using
if_salv_wd_column_hierarchy~set_hierarchy_column.
Also i tried to display the whole table as Hierarchial
lr_table_settings->set_display_type( if_salv_wd_c_table_settings=>display_type_hierarchy ).
For both the possibilities the result is not as desired.

Hi Aleem,
The link u have provided gives the solution for the Table.
I want the implementation for ALV.
Also my requirement is that the first column of the ALV should be hierarchial.
On expanding the table cell of first column one more table should open of same type.
This way user can navigate to three diffierent database tables.
The tree is populated at runtime with the data. So the depth of branches is unknown at design time.
I hope the requirements are clear to u now.

I wonder if there is a way that we can query the EUL tables (e.g. eul5_documents, etc) to find out the database tables that are used by a specific workbook.

There is no "direct" way to do this. If a report has been run at least once, though, you may be able to find out what you want (but it will require a bit of work).
From the EUL5_QPP_STATS table, you can find the workbook (qs_doc_name) and worksheet (qs_doc_details). You can then use the qs_object_use_key value to find the objects, which will give the tables. You could try:
select obj_ext_owner || '.' || sobj_ext_table
from eul5_objs
where instr ((select qs_object_use_key
                from eul5_qpp_stats
               where qs_doc_name = <workbook>
                 and qs_doc_details = <worksheet>
                 and qs_created_date =
                    (select max(qs_created_date)
                       from eul5_qpp_stats
                      where qs_doc_name = <workbook>
                        and qs_doc_details = <worksheet>)),
             obj_id) > 0;This should give you the tables used for the last execution of the workbook.

Hi, can someone pleas tell me , how to find the oracle accounts in the database which are using default passwords. DB verion is 10g and 9i.
in 11g version we can query the view DBA_USERS_WITH_DEFPWD to view the users....
any idea in 10g and 9i ?

thanks in advance.the only way I've found is to search the web for lists of default users and their passwords, then attempt to log on with said credentials. I'd start with Pete Finnigan's site (google is your friend). He may already have some scripts ready to go, or at least the lists you'd need to get started.

I want to use the HSQLDB instead of mdb in our application. I am using the HSQLDB Engine Standalone mode, and given a file name "TEMP" in URL along with the "jdbc:hsqldb:file:". Then a I created a TEXT TABLE, that table was created as a .CSV file in the Disk. But I am unable to read that CSV, I tried that file in the database URL. But its not working. Can anubody give me the suggestions.

To add multiple users to one group, I wouldn't use a .csv file since the only value you need from a list is the users to be added.
To start create a list of users that should be added to the group, import this list in a variable called $users, the group distinguishedName in a variable called $Group and simply call the ActiveDirectory cmdlet Add-GroupMember.
$Users = Get-Content -Path 'C:\ListOfUsernames.txt'
$Group = 'CN=MyGroup,OU=MyOrg,DC=domain,DC=lcl'
Add-ADGroupMember -Identity $Group -Members $Users

now after pressing the save button:
just read teh two attributes to field1, field2 using code wizard. then
<db name>-<fieldname1> = <field1>.
<db name>-<fieldname2> = <field2>.
insert <dbname>.
