How to reduce Oracle Cluster Time Synchronization time to 0

Hi Guys,
How to reduce Offset (in msec) of Oracle Cluster Time Synchronization time to 0 ???
is there any command or is it the only solution to wait to become 0 slowly...
[root@caslive bin]# ./crsctl check ctss
CRS-4701: The Cluster Time Synchronization Service is in Active mode.
CRS-4702: Offset (in msec): -1300

Hi,
1.From DB02--> detail analysis menu you can take out top 50 tables & indexes. you can mark the size of the index should be generally less than the table. If its more or very much similar size of table, you can rebuild it using SE14. This can free some space.
or else you may use brspace to do this.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/58/6bec38c9fa7e44b7f2163905863575/frameset.htm
In case of table this option is risky as it may result in data loss.
2. Earlywatch alert gives the top 20 degenrated index. you can check that which also gives a factor 'storage quality'.
3. Run report SAP_DROP_TMPTABLES. It removes temporary database objects. ( we do this in our BW system)
Hope this helps
Thanks

  • How to reduce the size of my Time Machine folder.

My Time maching folder is extremely large with backups that go all the way back to june 2011. I obviously don't need anything from way back then. Is there any way I can limit how far back Time Machine will go too? And is there any way I can reduce the size of the folder currently?

My Time maching folder is extremely large with backups that go all the way back to june 2011. I obviously don't need anything from way back then.
Just to add to what has already been said, let me say that this is not at all obvious. It may seem to you now like you don't need anything from way back then, but suppose that you discover tomorrow that a very important file that you haven't thought about in some time is missing, and suppose that it turns out that it was accidentally deleted in August 2011. Those kinds of situations are what backup systems like Time Machine are designed to help protect against.
There is no such thing as unnecessary backups, and in fact, you probably need more, not less. You should have a minimum of two separate backups, and any data that you would consider irreplaceable should be not only backed up twice but also backed up in an archive that gets put away in a closet or in a safe somewhere every so often and not touched again, to protect against corruption or accidental deletion that affects the backups as well. Multiple points of redundancy are required for true long-term data integrity!

  • How to reduce reading and recording data time/ Visual C++, PCI 6024E and PCI-MIO-16E?

Right now I am working on a data communication programme. The time of reading digital signal and recording data is more than I expected, which is about 100 microsecond. I need to reduce the time. The software I am using is Visual C++ 6.0. I use two DAQ boards, which are PCI-6024E and PCI-MIO-16E. I have set the priority of Visual C++ to be realtime by task manager. The operating systme is Windows XP.
I am wondering how to set the interrupt of reading or writing data to be the highest and stop any other kind of interrupt.
    Thanks in advance!

The primary limitation you will encounter when trying to do high speed
digital I/O using your E-Series hardware is that the digital lines are
all software timed.  This means that for each and every digital
read it is necessary for your software to issue a command to your
hardware, read a single point, then receive the response from the
board.  This prevents you from performing digital operations at
very high speed.  In general, I would say that 100 microseconds is
a very good response using software-timed digital I/O on a Windows
    computer.
It is difficult to make a good recommendation without more detail about
what you are trying to do.  You may need to consider switching to
a Real-Time operating system, or upgrading your DAQ hardware to a board
that will allow you to time your digital acquisitions on the board
itself.  These devices, such as the m-Series DAQ or the PCI-653x
series, would allow you to use hardware triggers for your digital
acquisitions, change detection, and buffered data acquisitions to
reduce the software overhead involved in a rapid acquisition.

  • How to reduce Oracle ADF Mobile deployed file

    Hi
I'm creating simple demos with Oracle ADF Mobile and the deployed file is more than 50mb. Is there a way to reduce this size? Maybe remove some unused features llike SQLLite?

My simple demo IPA files have been around 20MB with the default splashscreens and such, the only time it was bigger was when some files mistakenly got included. You could always load resources on-demand the first time over http and cache them in the app documents. This way you could only download the graphics for the current platform (so if it's a phone, you don't download iPad banners and graphics that your app needs)

  • How to upgrdae Oracle Cluster on Red Hat Linux 3 to Red hat Linux 4 AS U 7

We need to upgrade our Clustered (2 Nodes) Oracle Database environment on Linux environment to Red Hat 4 AS 7. The current OS version is Red Hat 3 update 6. We use EMC SAN Storage as shared storage (OCFS and Raw Devices) for our 9i and 10g databases
Question: We will install (on local disks) Red Hat 4 AS Update 7 and then install ocfs and ASMlib RPMs. Is there any risk of loosing the existing (on Red Hat 3 update 6) ocfs file systems and raw devices (from EMC SAN Storgae) after we do fresh install of OS and ocfs and ASMlib RPMs? How can we keep the shared storage data quickly available (without restore from the backup) to the system after installing Red Hat 4 AS Update 7 and mentioned RPMs?

  • How to reduce Post-Processing time in oracle applications R12?

    Hi All,
I ran a XMLP concurrent program at 16-APR-2015 11:23:52 . It's completed at 16-APR-2015 11:30:41. So it took 6 minute 49 seconds. I check the query in sql developer, it's executing less than two minutes. When I check the log file of that program shows the following info...
Beginning post-processing of request 22226009 on node DEV at 16-APR-2015 11:24:43.
    Post-processing of request 22226009 completed at 16-APR-2015 11:30:41.
So what is the reason?, and how to reduce the time?

HTML is a simple format (Text).
Excel is more complicated and requires more time to generate. The same applies for Word and PDF output.
Maybe the processing power and memory of the server are not high and this does not help generate the output faster.
I have a workaround for you, generate an XML file (which should finish faster) and open it in Excel.

  • Update New Records is taking much time to complete. How to reduce

    Hi,
Iam having a Table with 200 Clumns and trying to Update 5 columns and the table has 5lakh Records. It is taking very much time 2hours to complete. Pls let me know why is this taking time how to reduce....
In my ssis Package iam using
    Oracle Source
    Look up
    Oledb Command for the Update.
    Please help ism stuck?

    I have somthing like this..
    Update table
    Set column1 =@column1, column2=@column2,column3=@column3,column4=@column4,column5=@column5
    where column1=@column1
in this case i need to add a index on column1 right? Pls llet me know
Yes, an index in column1 (preferably clustered) would avoid the table scan for each update. The ELT the staging table alternative Jim suggested will likely perform better than individual updates for a large process like this.

  • How to reduce time for gather statistics for a table.

    I have a table size 520 gb

    Details :
    exec dbms_stats.gather_table_stats('OWNER','TAB_NAME',PARTNAME=>'PART_NAME',CASCADE=>FALSE,ESTIMATE_PERCENT=>10,DEGREE=>30,NO_INVALIDATE=>TRUE);
when i am firing this in an ideal time when there is no load that time also is is taking 28 mins to complete.
Can anybody please reply me how can we reduce the stats gather time.
    Thanks in advance,
    Tapas Karmakar
    Oracle DBA.

Enable tracing to see where the time is going.
parallel 30 seems optimistic - unless you have a large number of discs to support the I/O ?
you haven't limited histogram collection, and most of the time spent of histograms may be wasted time - what histograms do you really need, and how many does Oracle analyse for and then discard ?
Using a block sample may help slightly
You haven't limited the granularity of the stats collection to the partition - the default is partition plus table, so I think you're also doing a massive sample on the table after completing the partition. Is this what you want to do, or do you have an alternative strategy for generating table-level stats.

  • How to reduce the cloning time if using cold backup?

    Hi,
We are using EBS r12 (12.0.6) with database 10.2.0.3 in Linux Redhat 4 32-bit envoirnment.
Our datbase size is around 480 GB and we are facing the issues to provide the clone to my consultants for meet the target timelines in given time.
(Source:)---- Production Dell R900 Server machine having 32-GB RAM and 8 Quard Core CPU's.
(Target:)---- Clone Dell 2950 Server machine having 16-GB RAM and 4-Quard Core CPU's.
Currectly we are taking cold backup like:
1: Auto shutdown EBS r12 database nighthy at 12:00 AM daily and compress the backup using tar utility in linux. This process takes 6:00 hours aprox:
2: After that we move compressed file to clone machine and then uncompressed it, and this process takes 5:00 hours aprox.
3: And performe standard cloning steps.
    Questions:
1: How to reduce time of this backup process?
3: Is there any other way to reduce the cloning process.
2: What type of backup oracle recommended to their customers for this type of process?
    Thanks.

1: How to reduce time of this backup process?Without using third party tools, it might be hard to tune the timing of compressing/uncompressing the file.
Have you tried to use scp command? This would help if your network throughput is acceptable.
3: Is there any other way to reduce the cloning process.Since the main issue you have with the copy, then you might copy the files remotely from the source to the target, or using any other storage/backup tools (like file system snapshot).
2: What type of backup oracle recommended to their customers for this type of process?Oracle does not recommend any type of backup as the tools used are not Oracle products.
    Thanks,
    Hussein

  • We want Cluster time synchronization service to point out time server

Currently we are using Cluster time synchronization service in our 11gr2 RAC test system, But for production system our Admin wants the system to get its time from our time servers, he wants all the servers in the company to have same time.we can fix this by using NTP service instead of Cluster time synchronization service .But Cluster time synchronization service has more advantages over NTP.
My Question, Is there any way that i make my Cluster time synchronization service to get time from our time servers ? In this way all my other nodes will also have same time as our time servers as they are referencing to first node, which is getting time from TIME SERVER

    Hi ,
My Question, Is there any way that i make my Cluster time synchronization service to get time from our time servers ? In this way all my other nodes will also have same time as our time servers as they are referencing to first node, which is getting time from TIME SERVER
    This is not possible
If you use NTP, then the Oracle Cluster Time Synchronization daemon (ctssd) starts up in observer mode.
For CTSS to be in active mode, a vendor time service must not be running, and must not be configured (correctly or otherwise).
    This is important.
CTSS is conservative and will switch to OBSERVER mode the moment it discovers that a vendor service is running or configured on even one node in the cluster.
This is to prevent multiple active time sync services running on the cluster, potentially changing clocks.

  • How can we update the last synchronization date and time..on SUP in sccm 2012 R2

    Hi,
Can you any one please guide me how can i update the last  synchronization date & time in SUP on SCCM2012 r2 , some how its updated as future date and when ever i try to synch the SUP with disconnected WSUS its shows in the wsyncmgr.log
"Wakeup for a polling cycle " and  " Wakeupby inbox drop" and "Wakeup by SCF change"
    Thanks
    Balaji K

You'll probably have to call CSS on this one as this not normal by any means. The messages you noted above are completely normal but if that's all you are seeing then there's an issue.
Have you reviewed wcm.log and wsusctrl.log?

  • Web report for opening it takes long time how to reduce the time?

    HI Experts,
I created report using webi. For next time while opening it takes more time. How to reduce the time.

    Hi Manikandan,
There could be multiple reason behind the bad performance.
    1. Are you using supported JVM version to run Webi reports?
    2. Do the reports contain prompts? Are the LOVs set to "Automatic refresh before use"? If yes, uncheck it.
    3. How many queries do the report has? Can you run the queries one by one and check which query is taking much time?
    4. If it based on relational database, copy and run it against the database directly and check how much time it takes. If more, you may have to fix the issue at database level like using temporary tables, indices, etc.
    5. Also check if there are firewalls or proxy server between client and server communication. if yes, try to refresh the report directly on BO server and check.
    6. Check if there is any hinderance between BO server and Database server communcation.
    Hope it will help.
    Regards,
    Yuvraj
