How to Refresh or TaskFlow from pageFragment button?

Hello im using Jdev 11.1.1.3.0, and i have a task flow with a managed bean with pageFlow scope, this managed bean defines a lot of parameters for my page framents that are on my task flow. I need a custom on this bean to programatically refresh the task flow or re-enter to the task flow.
Any idea?

I am a newbie in taskflow development world.
Having gone through the above answer, I am not sure on how it fits in my problem domain. I created a taskflow with few iinput parameter to it. Actually it's a polling application that displays a poll on the basis of poll id provided by user through taskflow input parameter. A new requirement came up to show a list of polls and user may click on a poll from the list and that poll should get displayed.
I have done the showing list of poll part, but when user clicks on a particular poll, even though I am setting the poll ID of the selected poll to the appropriate parameter, it's not being taken. While doing some R&D on this, I found there are two attributes called Refresh and RefreshCondition for taskflow refreshing. Initially the value of Refresh was set to 'always' which I modified to 'ifNeeded' and 'deferred', one at a time and it did not work. I have also tried binding a boolean variable to 'RefreshCondition' attribute, but while debugging, I have found, that the boolean variable is read only once while the taskflow is getting initiated, no matter what the value of 'Refresh' is.
I did not get much time to explore the meaning and applicability of 'Refresh' and 'RefreshCondition' attributes, but have a feeling that these are the ones that I have to tweak a little to get my work done. Can someone please help me on this?

You never delete a Time Machine backup by dragging it to the Trash. You are supposed to use the TM application to manage the backups. What you will need to do now is to simply erase the drive using Disk Utility.

ODI is complaning it cannot locate the file. Try replacing the '/' character with a '\' after file in the designated filepath.

How to popup a page from a button not in a region position

Hello.
I am using Apex 2.2.1. I have a form (not a report) on which I've placed a button that is positioned "among the items" as opposed to being placed in a specific region position.
When the button is clicked I would like to have another page popup. The problem is that I can get this to work only if the button is placed in a region position. With the button in a region position, I define the target to be a URL and then place a call to the popUp2 function, as in:
javascript:popUp2('f?p=&APP_ID.:32:&SESSION.::NO:::', 900, 700);
This works fine.
However, I need to position my button on the immediate right hand side of a form item. But when I create a button in such a position, I have no field in which to place the call to the popUp2() function. Instead, I have to create a "Branch to Page or URL" and then place my javascript call in the Branch field. Unfortunately, when I click the button, Apex wants to branch to page zero instead of the desired page. I saw that when I move the mouse over the button, Apex shows:
javascript: doSubmit('MY_BUTTON_REQUEST');
And, as mentioned, Apex tries to branch to page zero.
How does one call the popUp2() function from a button that is not placed in a region position?

Hi Elie,
I had the same problem ... I only got it solved with creating a hidden item and adding the input-tag into the "Post Element Text" field.
Just have a look in the source code of your page, how a button is build and copy the necesaary code to the mentioned field. So you get a button with ApEx layout and can add your javascript call.

Take a look at JFileChooser. You can build a JFileChooser instance that will allow the user to select DIRECTORIES_ONLY (hint, take a look at the constants), it should do the trick ... (even though it's pretty ugly alright)

It seems you are using EPG.
Replacing #HOST# works for flash charts which you create yourself but I don't think you can do it for the charts generated by Interactive Reports. To fix this issue you either need to update host variable of EPG or the best is to use Apex Listener.
I would recommend you to use Apex Listener as it will avoid further issues if you use a Reverse Proxy with your Apex Server such as Lighttpd or Apache and use multiple Virtual Hosts etc.

How to refresh Adf table from Adf popup

i have and adf query panel with table. On this table for each record, there is a button to perform some operations. When i click this button i am launching an adf popup. Inside this popup i have used a adf dialog of type yes/no. i am using this as a confirmation. (ex- Are you sure you want to change (ex- deactivate) this record?) If yes is clicked i change only one field. Suppose the record belongs to a client. On click of yes, i change the status to some value. ex- deactivate. so with the dialog's button click, i change the table data. but it is not reflected unless i made a query. i want to automatically refresh this table on click of dialog button's yes. I hope i made my self clear. Can this be done with Jdev. Im using Jdev 11.1.1.0.1. Pls help me with this.

this seems to be a HTML/JavaScript problem, not JSP related.
The file frame2.jsp could refresh frame1.jsp using "onLoad" on the <body> tag.
You could also do this before loading frame2.jsp, while pressing the submit button. Instead of using a submit buton you could use a JavaScript function that would submit the form and reload another frame.

How to refresh report data from bex query (BW) with parameters

i hope someone can help me with my problem. I developed an desktop application, which loads (actual state) a report from the local file system. After setting the parameters, the report should be saved as a pdf file. Loading the report into the ReportDocument object and exporting the report to a pdf works fine. Setting parameters (without) a data source too. But now i can't refresh the data in the reports given by a parameter (e.g. time).
I know there are two methods to do this. Push and pull. I want to use the pull method, cause my program should exports different reports and i think it should be easier to handle this with this method.
On my development environment is installed:
Crystal Reports SP 4
MS Visual Studio 2010 (coding with C# .NET)
.NET Framework 4
SAP Integration Kit
Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010 SP1 - SDK libraries
Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010 SP1 - Runtime 32 bit
SAP GUI 7.20 (Compilation 3)
The bex query is enabled for external use from ole db for olap. Do i have forget something else?

Cause i'm using only one bex query, i know that the SetDatabaseLogon()-method should bring me the same result as the ApplyLogOnInfo()-method SAP Crystal Reports .NET API Guide
Exists an order which i have to follow? First setting parameter and then set the login informations or backwards? Cause i also get the "Failed to load database information" exception, when i set a parameter and TestConnectivity() returns false.
Do i have to activate the data refresh manually or will be the data refreshed automatically on export?

There is a SAP Integration Kit you need to allow CR to connect to SAP data sources. There isn't one for CR for VS 2010 and I don't believe there are the various extra options available in the SDK, no SDK access to the DB driver.
Possibly, Check the other post, download and run the app Ludek suggested, it will get the connection info for your report using RAS and then plug the output code into your code and see if that works. It should show the crdb_olap dll is the database driver, assuming that is the connection method you used when designing the report.
Pay attention to the database dll in the output from that app and verify it is on your PC in: C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 4.0\Common\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win32_x86
If that doesn't work then.....
The problem is, CR for VS 2010 ( version 13 ) is the runtime for BOE 4.0 ( version 14 ) which includes the Integration kit drivers on install. There is no standalone install of the database drivers. They are installed with CR 2011, which doesn't have a SDK included, CR for VS 2010 is also the Developer version for CR 2011.
Because of the "custom" connection requirements there is no SDK or access to the BW datasource extra options....
Also note that CR 2008 is not supported in VS 2010, it should work though as long as you stick to 2.0 -> 3.5 framework, no 4.0 Framework support in CR 2008 or BOE 4.0
You may want to try the SAP Integration Kit forum to see if anyone has been able to make this work or contact your account manager to verify if there are any plans to do what you are doing....

How to refresh JPA cache from non-JPA code(JDBC)

In the system, let say there are two different tools are available, Tool-A_Uses_JPA and Tool_B_Uses_JDBC.
As the name of tools is self explanatory what persistence technology used by tools.
Say,there is a table COMMON_TABLE. This can be used by both tools to perform CRUD operation.
Lets see the problematic scenario-
Tool_B_Uses_JDBC tries to insert some new rows in COMMON_TABLE, by performing following tasks--
(Tool_B_Uses_JDBC already calculated how many rows will be inserted into COMMON_TABLE. Let's say it is 5.)
1. Read JPA_GENERATED_KEYS table for getting last_value for COMMON_TABLE. Let's say it is 30.
2. Add (last_value + number of rows to be inserted), here it 30+5 =35.
3. Update the JPA_GENERATED_KEYS table for last_value of COMMON_TABLE by the value calculated in step 2.
In my example it was updated by 35.
Above three steps done in a single transaction.
Now, ideally if any other tool use this COMMON_TABLE to perform any insert operation, the last_value from
JPA_GENERATED_KEYS should be 35. But for Tool-A_Uses_JPA, JPA cache is enabled. So this tool still get
last_value as 30, rather 35. And hence Tool-A_Uses_JPA, does not work properly.
So to resolve this issue, i thought to write a code to update JPA cache while updating the last_value.
Is there any way to update and/or send notification to all other tools to update JPA cache when updating
last_value form NON_JPA code?
Or is there any other way to resolve this issues?

Marking this as answered, as this can never be a situation the way JPA uses caching. This was issue with the transaction form non-JPA code. Actually when JDBC uses data source then whether transaction will be committed as soon as application issues commit, is not guaranteed. Hence need to work on transaction.

How to open a pdf from a button in Flash

Good Afternoon All,
I am working in CS4.
AS 3.
I am putting together a self-contained Flash presentation. The presentation and all linked images/files will be contained on a flash stick.
I need to know how to link to a pdf that will be on the flash stick and have it open directly in reader when clicked. I've tried the following AS:

and it does work, but opens the pdf in a browser window version of reader as opposed to just reader...if that makes sense.
