How to reimport/refresh external CAF services?

Hi Guys,
I have imported a CAF service into my CAF via webservice. However, there is an issue here.
Whenever there is an update of the external webservice, there isnt any refresh or reimport function that I can perform.
Instead I have to remove all mappings, delete the external service and then import them again.
This method is very tedious as I have to redo the mappings again.
Is there is more elegant of doing external service refresh ?
Thanks.

After you delete the songs on the memory stick, you need to *empty the trash* to recover that space for reuse.

  • How to call an external web service from OIM?

    Hi,
    I have a question on how to call an external web service from OIM within e.g. creating user process? How should it be done; through adapter and task in the process?
    Any recomendations?
    Thanks in advance!

    it is not clear to me if you are having problems with calling java code from OIM or if the problem is the web service API.
    Lets do some divide and conquer:
    Can you create a simple java class that just writes a couple of lines to the log? Please attach this code to the OIM task and make sure it runs.
    Once this works we can start looking at the web service call.

  • How to connect to external web service and convert XML to a table

    Hi experts,
      I need to connect to external/non-SAP web service and convert XML in that site to a SAP table?
    Is there a function call(SE37) to do this? Is it a must for me to install AS JAVA or PI and configure enterprise service? Please provide a link for me to retrieve relevant infomation, thx.

    No, you don't need PI or the Java stack for this.  You can create an ABAP proxy using the WSDL file for the web service and call the web service using the proxy class in an ABAP program.  You can transform the XML response to internal tables/structures/variables using a transformation template that you create.

  • How to update/refresh external hard drives?

    Okay, lets say that you add some music to a memory card but later you want to remove those songs and add a new stack of songs... So you delete your old songs and try to add your new songs (keeping it in the size) but it wont allow you because the memory card/external says not enough space because it has not registered the fact that you have already deleted your old songs. Even though the songs do not show up, and the size is correct when plugged into any other computer just not the mac.
    What to do?

    After you delete the songs on the memory stick, you need to *empty the trash* to recover that space for reuse.

  • External Web Service call from Sandbox Solution in SharePoint 2010

    Can anyone from this forum can tell me how to call an external web service from Sandbox solution?
    It would of great help as got stuck on it for a long time.
    Note:- Cannot use Silverlight and JQuery to call web service from client side.Cannot use full trust proxy.

    Hi Dibyendu,
    Sorry for delay but fact that we can not call webservice in sand box solution(It's does not support).
    The reason behind of this sand box solution support only full trust code.
    One or more assemblies referenced by the XmlSerializer cannot be called
      from partially trusted code.
    When you create a reference to a Web service, Microsoft Visual Studio®.NET creates and places one or more objects in your assembly to store the argument data passed to the method(s) in the Web service. These objects are serialized using the XmlSerializer class
    when you invoke one or more of the methods in the Web service. By default, if your assembly is strongly named and resides in the BIN directory, callers with partial trust cannot access objects within that assembly. When you make the call to the Web service
    method, the XmlSerializerdetects that there are partially trusted callers on the callstack (i.e. your assembly) and prevents the serialization from taking place even though the object resides in the same assembly.

  • Howto reimport  external web service

    Hi,
    I'm using web services as external services in my caf project.
    Now the customer changed some fields in his web service and I want to update the external service.
    How can I do this?
    I didn't find anything like reimport and dropping the service doesn't drop the complex structure which changed.
    If I drop the service and import it for the second time the structure remains unchanged.
    Does anyone now a solution for this problem?
    best regards

    hi please try the following and check whether it will work
    The Adaptive WS Model supports renaming of model classes.
    If user re-names a few of the model classes during import, then subsequently for reimport deletes the complete model as described in How To Reimport Web Service Models in Web Dynpro for Java(this is the link for that How To Reimport Web Service Models in Web Dynpro for Java), then to avoid a broken context-to-model binding relation she has to take care of following points
    The second AWS model import has to be with same name and package
    The user has to provide the same renaming of the model classes what she did during the prvious import. As the context-to-model-binding relations still point to the former, protentially renamed model classes, every model class, which was is not correctly named or re-named leads to a broken context-to-model binding relation.

  • How to Refresh cache of Service Call

    Hi
    Normally I use java WD, but am helping out a friend who uses ABAP flavour.
    In the java WD, if the RFC changes, I just re-import the model so that the changes are made available to me in the Dev Studio. How do I do the equivalent in ABAP WD? ie How do I refresh/re-import the Service Call?
    thanks

    Hi Anton,
    In WD ABAP, if we want to reimport the service call, we need to follow the same steps which we follow to create a service call.
    One thing to notice is that wizard does not allow to give the same method name which we gave/system proposed during the last time service call creation. Hence in the second time when we reimport the service call provide all details and new method name. A new method will be created in Controller (if we use existing controller). During adapting the nodes new nodes/attributes will be created.
    Hence the best approach is to before reimporting the service call is to delete the context, attributes and the method created during the previous service call creation.
    Best regards,
    Suresh

  • Consuming external web services in CAF

    Hi there,
    I am trying to set up a show case where a composite CAF app (exposed via WD or VC) uses SAP web services as well as external services. In this case, I chose to use the Fedex web services (http://fedex.com/developer).
    Everything works fine, I am able to import the webservice using the locally stored WSDL into my composite app, apply the mapping and implement the application service......build, deploy...all good.
    The problem occurs when trying to create the physical destination (under nwa/destination template management). NW expects a pointer/url to the wsdl or wsil file, but Fedex doesn't provide that via http. Putting the wsdl on a different web server doesn't help either as the SOAP call will be routed to the same host where the wsdl resides (in this case NOT the fedex system).
    Is there any way to circumvent the WSDL retrieval with external web services in Netweaver ? One alternative solution could be to use the Netweaver Service registry and publish the fedex wsdl to that, but I would like to avoid that as we haven't configured the SR at the moment.
    Thx, Nick

    Looks like I don't need it necessarily.
    There seems to be a bug in NW/CE 7.1. When defining a destination which points to a WSDL file which in turn points to a different server for SOAP messages (ServicePort), the endpoint URL is incorrectly defined.
    WSDL URL: http://www.server1.com/test.wsdl
    SOAP URL/Port: http://server2.com/webservices
    the server tries to dispatch the SOAP call to http://server1.com/webservices which can't be found.
    In CE 7.1.1. though, that bug is fixed, and everything works fine without the need to publish the remote service (wsdl) to the SR and to subsequently query it.

  • How can we make a external web service call within tjspSelfRegistrationTile

    Hello Gurus,
    Can anybody tell me how can we include a JAVA code within the tjspSelfRegistrationTiles.jsp page? so that we can make a external web service call which includes the logic of validating the UDF values?
    The requirement is to validate the value of a field provided by the user on the OIM self registration page. If the user has provided invalid value for that particular field then the user should not be able to register himself - an error message should be displayed. I have to compare the value provided by the user with some already hard coded ones within the JAVA code. If the value of the field is one of the hard-coded ones then only the user should be able to register himself.
    Any Response/ideas/concepts truly appreciated.
    TIA,
    - oidm.

    Have you ever tried something like this?
    1) Create an error message definition where error code starts with Adapter. for example, ADAPTER.Invalid_TemporaryAccess_Dates.
    2) Create an entity adapter and assigns it to the Request object, pre-insert;
    3) Logic of your adapter
    Tests if the REQ_OBJ_ACTION is Create Entity
    Performs your validations
    Handles an error the validation is not ok
    Thanks,
    Renato.

  • How to Implement Management Chain in External routing Service

    hi,
    I am using External Routing Service to Assign & route the tasks.
    I will get the authorisation workflow in our external Routing class , Now I am suppose to implement that workflow in BPM worklist for that human task.
    One way is to know the way to implement management chain in the External Routing Service.
    I have found some BPEL classes for doing the same eg. ParticipantsType.ManagementChain, objFactory.createParticipantsTypeManagementChain().
    But not able to find any sample code to implement.
    Does any body knows how to implement the same.
    Is their any other way to resolve this issue.
    you can also refer the following thread to understand the problem statement: PROGRAMMATICALLY PERSISTING THE APPROVAL WORKFLOW FOR A HUMAN TASK.
    thanks
    Jagdish

    I have tried the below mentioned code for implemnting management chain...
         private Participants createParticipant() {
              System.out.println("1");
              String user = users[numberOfApprovals++];
              ObjectFactory objFactory = new ObjectFactory();
              Participants participants = objFactory.createParticipants();
              participants.setIsAdhocRoutingSupported(false);
                   StageType stage = objFactory.createParticipantsTypeStage();
                   stage.setName("Stage1");
                   System.out.println("2");
                   SequentialParticipant seqParticipant = objFactory.createParticipantsTypeSequentialParticipant();
                   seqParticipant.setName("Stage1.Participant1");
                   System.out.println("3");
                   ListType listType = objFactory.createList();
                   ManagementChainListType managementListType = objFactory.createManagementChainListType();
                   // adding Resource in the management chain
                   ResourceType resourceChain = objFactory.createResourceType("fkafka");
                   resourceChain.setIsGroup(false);
                   resourceChain.setType("STATIC");
                   resourceChain.setIdentityType("user");
                   managementListType.getResource().add(resourceChain);
                   System.out.println("4");
                   // adding levels in the management chain
                   ParameterType levelParameterType = objFactory.createParameterType("2");
                   levelParameterType.setType("STATIC");
              managementListType.setLevels(levelParameterType);
                   System.out.println("5");
                   // adding title in the management chain
                   ParameterType titleParameterType = objFactory.createParameterType("Vice President");
                   titleParameterType.setType("STATIC");
                   managementListType.setTitle(titleParameterType);
                   System.out.println("6");
                   listType.setManagementChain(managementListType);
                   System.out.println("7");
                   seqParticipant.setList(listType);
                   System.out.println("8");
                   stage.getParticipantOrSequentialParticipantOrAdhoc().add(seqParticipant);
                   System.out.println("9");
              participants.getParticipantOrSequentialParticipantOrAdhoc().add(stage);
              System.out.println("10");
              return participants;
    The above code doesnot give error during execution but It doesnot work, what It's suppose to be...
    what It does is..It calls onInitiation method number of times [equal to the number of levels given in hierachy +1] at one shot. without being assigned to anybody and come out of the human task.
    please let me know..If am missing something...
    thanks

  • How to make a Mediator deal with calling an external Asynchronous Service

    Hi,
    Using TP 4.
    I want my Mediator to invoke an Asynchronous Service that is external to the composite application. But I do not know how to get the reply from that service back into my Mediator.
    I have worked with the sample of calling an asynch BPEL component within the same composite - that is fairly easy to accomplish.
    What how can I tell the external service to invoke a callback porttype on my Mediator. Can the SCA container work out the correlation between the external service and the correct instance of the SCA composite? Should the Mediator publish the callback interface as an external service at the SCA Composite level? If so - how would the correlation work? If not, how does it work?
    Any suggestions - even the statement that I always need a BPEL component in between that will support correlation with external asynch services, if that is the case - will help.
    Thanks.
    Lucas

    Kylie, welcome to the discussion area!
    Cable modems behave differently than DSL modems in that they will "remember" the last device that they have associated with. Your modem is "remembering" your MacBook and when you connect the TC, the modem won't connect because it "remembers" the MacBook.
    You need to make the modem "forget" a previous device whenever you make a change in the device that is directly connected to the modem. Here's how:
    Push the reset button on the modem if it's present
    Pull the power cable on the modem
    Pull the battery from the modem if it is easily accessible
    Leave the modem powered down for 25-30 minutes
    Power down the rest of your network as well
    After the wait period, connect the modem to the WAN port on the TC with an ethernet cable
    Power up the modem first and let it run for 3-4 minutes by itself
    Then power up the TC the same way
    Power up the rest of your network the same way
    Depending on how you had your TC configured with the DSL modem previously, you may need to make a few changes in the settings.
    Post back on your progress.
