How to resize a rectangle with an image?

Hey,
I am working on a MacBook, for me this combination would be "CMD" + "ALT" + "SHIFT" to resize the Rectangle AND the Image placed inside. How is this possible with Indesign script? I'm working with Javascript.

I found a workaround. This is not the proper solution, but it works for me. Note: "Width" and "Height" are the geometric bounds of the page substracted. x2-x1 = width, y2-y1 = height.
newX = width/100*5;
newY = height/100*5;
newWidth = width/100*95;
newHeight = height/100*95;
Then I just added my rectangle like so:
myRectangle = rectangles.add({geometricBounds:[newY, newX, newHeight, newWidth]});
myRectangle.place(File(myFile));
myRectangle.graphics[0].fit(FitOptions.proportionally);
myRectangle.graphics[0].fit(FitOptions.centerContent);

Hi obtis and welcome to our community
Unfortunately, there is little you may do to avoid this. The
best way to avoid it is to simply record initially at the size you
need so you don't have to use the Resize function.
Here's the deal. Captivate stores images in the project as
bitmapped images. Otherwise known as "raster" images. Basically
they are a mosaic that comprises the picture. Initially, all is
well and is crystal clear. But when you scale down a raster or
bitmapped image, you are simply moving all the picture elements
(PixEls) closer together. They overlap and the computer will
calculate new values for what color they should be. Depending on
how much you are resizing, the clarity drop can be acceptable or
horribly bad. The more you resize smaller the worse it gets.

How can i fill letters with an image

I am extremely new to mac software, I loved publisher on ms. I want to do bold lettering for wall displays but I want to fill the letters with images of what the heading is about. For example, when I did the vikings, I wrote each individual letter out very big and filled the letter with an image relating to the vikings, I am assuming this is possible on the mac, but I can't figure it out. Please help. I need my labelling done before I get back after the summer break!

If you installed Windows on your MBP (Bootcamp or Parallels) you could use the same software. Otherwise you will have to search of a Mac compatible version or some other alternative.

How to draw a rectangle with rounded corners?

Hi,
I'm trying to draw a rectangle in a custom annotation and my appearance stream looks like:
1 1 98 98 re 0.5 w 1 j 0 0 0 RG S
The re-operator draws the rectangle an the j-operator along with the parameter 1 sets the join style to round.
It does make the corners very slightly rounded, but it's only visible when setting the zoom level 200% and beyond.
Do any of you know how to make the corners more rounded for the rectangle?

How to change to working with referenced images but keep library on laptop

So, my iPhoto library is getting too big - I'd like to be able to have the images stored on an external drive and refer to them from within iPhoto, whilst keeping the iPhoto Library itself on the laptop. I know exactly how to do this from scratch, by unchecking 'copy items to my iPhoto library' in advanced preferences, but I'm trying to figure out how to convert my existing library, which has all the photos stored within it, to one where all the original files are on an external drive and are referenced by iPhoto. This way, I can see the previews when I'm away without the external drive attached.

There is no easy way to do it and I would strongly urge you to reconisder.
In a Referenced Library, iPhoto creates aliases to the location of the actual file. While there is at least one app that will help you replace those aliases with the actual files (convert a Referenced to Managed library) there is no app that will convert those files to aliases that point to the new location of the files. You will need to do each file manually.
More importantly, iPhoto has no tools to manage Referenced files. While on the same volume, aliases will track moved files. However this is not the case where the files are on different volumes. The upshot of this is that should the link to the files be broken then you could find yourself reconnecting each and every alias in your Library, one by one.
Also, I'm not sure about 09 but earlier versions of iPhoto would not open if there were movie files in the Library that were not available at time of launch.
You can move an entire Library to an external disk. There are firewire and usb disks now no bigger than a pack of playing cards and will run from the laptop's power supply.

I can't resize new rectangles with the new Illustrator 2014

I know from reading other boards that there are related issues with snapping to grid but I'm having an issue only with resizing rectangles when I create them new. We have others in our company using Creative Cloud that have updated and they are not having the same issue I am having.
Basically when I create any new rectangle, or rounded corner rectangle it is a fixed size and I am not given the handles to resize it. I have to select the object then go to Object > Shape > Expand Rectangle in order to get the corners to grab and reshape or resize. I have checked and unchecked all of the settings that I can see or read about and nothing changes this. It's a real pain to have to go through this with every object I create.
I have also tried rebooting the software and my computer several times but it's still the same.
Am I just missing some small setting somewhere?

How to mix time lapse with still images and imported movies ?

I have been shooting photos (time lapse with Camera Pro) and movies with a Nokia N8 and would love to use iMovie to mount all that.
Unfortunately, for the time lapse I cannot get the duration of the photos to 0.03s, it just won't accept it. I have been looking around the forum and could only find sort of solutions when you have a transition or effect on the pictures but not when they are just fit to the screen...
So now the time lapse looks much slower and broken than the movie itself... and it does not look nice.
Another way would be to make the time lapse with QT Pro and then import it but I am affraid I am loosing quality in the process.
Anybody knows how to fix this duration problem ?

Take the first image, adjust the Effects, copy it, select the other images and past attributes
and
just put all images together, make a new sequence and use that first sequence as nested sequence and put the effects on that

How to overlay opaque rectangle with title

Can't find this in FAQ or instructions, I must be using wrong search terms. I have a music video need to change title. Would like to overlay old title with white rectangle then type new title over that. How can I do this?

Here are three steps to create a Blurred Shape Title and then add Text above that with a Text Title:
Video with Date Stamp in lower-right
Title w/ Shape, and color selected from the background Video via the Eyedropper in the Color Palette in the Titler.
A Text Title with "Tim & Jill at the Park," added above the Blurred gray Shape.

in proprieties menu of a gif image, I checked the export for
sharing execution box, and add an URL for google.com to see when
i'll click on the image if it work! (That image is appearing only
at the end of the flash animation). And everything stops when it's
time for the image to appear. (after pushing F12). So no clickable
zone... I hope u understand!!!
But otherwize, how can I make an image to open a web page
when we clic on?

Hello
There are times that I rather not use a mouse, my question is How do I resize a window or drag it to make it larger not using a mouse but using the touch-pad and keyboard.
I usually put the mouse pointer in the bottom right hand conner of the window where the little white box and I hold down the left mouse button and drag it to the size I want.

How to export branching scenario with clear images

using Captivate 7.0 .
when i export branching scenario, the images are very obscure. (window -->branching view)
i tried sliding to zoom in and out. the images are not clear, and the texts and images cannot be read at all.
when exporting, the images are naturally not clear.

For you issue, you can first convert in HTMl then convert HTML to PDF to support all office versions.

Over all I only want to resize a rectangle with a hover effect. However, the problem arises that the size of the rectangle with scale = 1 changes?!
I create a rectangle "button" and give the "button" as mouseout-action the following code:

It shouldn't get smaller, in fact at a value of 1, it should not change at all because 1 equates to 100% of the original.
Change the value to a higher number, like 2, for example. Which says 'transform to 200% of the original'.

I know it is a little bit late to reply. But, I still want to share my experiences with everyone here.
Actually, I have ever also ahs the same issue and need to resize my C drive partition for installing a large game. But, the resizing process just unexpectedly fails at last in Disk Management. The “extend” function is unable to work.
So, I have no choice but to take chances with some third party partition resizer recommended in many forums such as:
