How to retain 3D View while embedding U3D in PDF

Hi,
I'm using PDF Library to embed U3D data into PDF file. But I noticed that when I open my PDF file, the 3D Views created in U3D file are not retained. I know that in Acrobat 3D when we embed U3D, there is is check box reading "Retains views, comments and scripts" which does the job. Is there any way to do the same programatically using PDF library?

I have exactly the same problem although I'm not knowing Nilesh_Raghuvanshi!
I was despaired trying to import my u3d views to the 3dannotation until I saw this post. After downgrading the reader from 9.0 to 8.1 everything went well, but I don't think that this is a approach I'd like to suggest my customers.
Does anybody have a clue?

I have a modally presented ViewController. In it I download data from a server. In
-(void)connection:(NSURLConnection *)connection didReceiveData:(NSData *)data where my data arrives I have a UIProgressView bar which updates while downloading is going on. This works fine when I do not go through the SKPayment process before starting the download. The problem is that if before I start downloading I go through the SKPayment process to do an in-app purchase, and then come back to the ViewController to download the purchased data, the ProgressView or any messages I try to put out don't work. Also dismissing the modal view does not work correctly. I assume that this because during the SKPayment process Apple takes over so my app resigns (applicationWillResignActive) and when it comes back the references are lost. All the SKPayment stuff works fine and downloading also works. The only problem is dispaying progress and messages after going through the in-app rigamarole.
Not sure how to put my question. Maybe: how can I retain the reference in the ViewController? I am using XCode 4.2 and compile for ios 5.0. I am using ARC. Everything is run on the main thread. I tried [self view] in the upDateFromInternet method and the view does load (reload) but still does not show ProgressBar...

No, that's what I said:
an internal table declared and filled during a start routine will be available only ONLY for the current executing datapackage; other datapackages cannot read an itab declared and filled during execution.
Is this what you require: a table which would be available for all datapackages. if you can update this table from any data package, how do you manage the case when your data loaded in parallel; any datapack could update this data simultaneously...
as of noew I can think of three options:
- use a database table (you could even use your PSA table but I don't recommend updating the PSA table during loading
- try the abap clause STATIC in your declaration; you'll have to ensure that each start routine will check if this table is already declared; if yes, avoid declaring it again, (otherwise: dump)
- store your table into MEMORY using ABAP stmt EXPORT

How to retain file name while saving file on archive servers

Hi Experts,
I am using function modules:
ARCHIVOBJECT_CREATE_TABLE and ARCHIV_CONNECTION_INSERT for inserting a file to archive server and for linking it with a document.
Then I am reading the URL using FM: SCMS_AO_URL_READ. When I get this URL and download that file, the file name will be always defaulted to 'pclHTTP.dll'. I debugged these FMs to a certain extent and found that this name comes from CREP_HTTP-HTTP_SCRPT table.
Is there any way I can retain the file name while saving it so that when I read the URL it has correct file name in it?

Hi Max,
In case when downloading one file it is fine. But if I want to download 10 files at once and later if I go to my downloads, every file will be having similar name. Unless we open the file, we cannot know what file it is.

How to retain the same resolution while croping a tiff image using jai api

Hi all,
I have designed a program to crop a tiff image.But after croping the tiff,the resultant file resolution is not the same as the original source file.
In the program,the source file Nadeshiko_v1_02.tif has the resolution(X) of 1200 DPI and resolution(Y) has 1200 DPI pixels.
But after croping the resolution of output file is 100 DPI.
Please give me some idea on how to retain the same resolution.

Hi SDN's,
               Could any please tell me,How to include one view into another view.
In my requirment.I want to create a 'Z' view for an interface .In that view i have to take,
1) Ship-to-email adrr by
                          LIKP-KUNNR -> KNA1-ADRNR
                          KNA1-ADRNR -> ADR6-ADDRESNUMBER.
2) E-mail addr of person who created the document.i.e
    LIKP-ERNAM -> USR21-BNAME.
    USR21-ADDRESNUMBER -> ADR6-ADDRESNUMBER
    USR21-PERSNUMBER -> ADR6-PERSNUMBER.
   In both the case we have to pass ADDRESSNUMBER to ADR6 table.
If we pass these condition it fails,B'Coz at a time it passes Two ADDRESSNUMBER and a PERSNUMBER.
So i created two which fetches only the email addr of person who created the document.and another view fetches Ship-to-email addr.
Now i want to include the second view into first view . Is it possible?or please
tell me someother way to get these email addresses in a single view.

as per my knowledge, nested views are not possible. However, while creating a new view, selection method will not giv u option to select the already created view(S) except the tables..i think so.

I have a requirement to hide the "CASE WHEN" statements which are there in the filter view while viewing the report in Dashboard. User dont want to see the calculation part in filter view instead they just want to see the selected dashboard prompt value. For e.g

therefore user wants only the bold text value(table name"."column name) to be displayed only not the calculation at front end.

try this, It seemed to have worked for me..
Below was my case statement

ELSE 0 END)=1
I used it as a column in my analysis with the following formula
(CASE WHEN '@{var_brand}' = 'Value1' and "Compl"."RecTypeId" IN (5,8,9) THEN 1
WHEN '@{var_brand}' = 'Value2' and "Compl"."RecTypeId" IN (11,12,13) THEN 1
ELSE 0 END)
and I made a change to the name of the column in the analysis using custom column headings and put it as "Brand"
and now put a filter on this column and filtered it for for the value 1
and my filters view now shows the column Name "Brand" instead of the Case Statement..

Thanks for answering. The version is XI.0.10. I just did the update yesterday hoping that I could now properly edit a scanned pdf document. Yes, it's happening on most all scanned documents. I followed your steps & found the list of fonts used in the document & then attempted to edit. The same occurs. When I type in a correction, I get an error alert... "the original font (in this case Fd 5805) is not available or can't be used in editing. Acrobat is using the font Minion Pro in its place."
When I select the text & right click as you suggested, my only choices are cut, copy, delete or select all, no "edit text".
I have no other options to choose another font. Thanks for any help you can direct my way.

I understand that if we prefix all files with leading zero's this will probably resolve the issue but I just wondered if anyone new the answer. The ironic situation is that version 6 has no problem.
I have spent over an hour with techincal support who were unable to provide me with an answer

It is not clear how you are trying to do the order. Have you tried to select a set of files and then use the arrow buttons to move them in the list? If you select the heading, that will typically reorder the files by that heading and undo everything you had done before.
You should be able to select groups of files and move them up and down in the list. All of those options appear on your view, so what is the real question?

Is ID exported PDF considered non-editable? (In the case of view&print embedding permission fonts)

I am a graphic designer and I use InDesign 5.5.
I have a question about font embedding when using the InDesign's export as a PDF in "print" format feature.
Many fonts allow embedding into digital documents only for the purpose of viewing and printing.
In addition to this the font EULA's mention that the embedded font may not be used to edit the document.
Is it possible to create a non-editable PDF with embedded fonts?
Is choosing PDF export option "print" the key here, or embedding the fonts as a subset?
Isn't it still possible to edit PDF in Acrobat with touch up text tool? Or use some third party editing program?
OR Is a PDF file - with fonts embedded as a subset - non-editable as such, or at least considered to be non-editable enough?
Or is it just that the file doesn't really have to be non-editable, but it must not be edited...
How do I ensure that? Do I even need to ensure that?
Whole thing seems so controversial.
Hope someone can shed some light into this!!!

Ahlax,
There are several separate concepts here.
First, PDF is really a final form file format. It wasn't designed as an editable format for layout such as InDesign's .indd format ane Word's .doc and .docx formats. Although PDF files may be tagged with contextual metadata, typical content of PDF files contains no context in terms of words, sentences, paragraphs, columns, etc. It is simply graphical objects including text fragments, vector artwork, and raster images at a particular place on a page with specified graphical attributes (color, transparency, etc.). As such producing a full PDF file editor first requires definition of what it actually means to edit such a file given the characteristics of PDF files.
That having been said, Acrobat and various third party plugins to Acrobat as well as third party applications provide some degree of editability for PDF files, recognizing that such edits are definitely not at the abstractual level that you get with InDesign. You can “touch-up” text, but doing a re-layout is effectively impossible. In most cases, it is better (in terms of time, effort, and resultant quality) to go back to the source document, make the changes there, and then regenerate the PDF.
Fonts are a totally separate issue. Adobe products will not embed any font into a PDF file unless the font allows for at least preview and print embedding. For PDF forms, Acrobat requires a font to allow editability embedding. However for text touch-up and other edits, Acrobat never uses the embedded font. Such edits are only allowed if the user has the same font actually installed on their system.
In terms of forcing a PDF file to be totally non-editable, that is done by applying security to the file when you export the PDF file from InDesign (the Security tab) or in Acrobat Pro after PDF creation (go to the Security tab under Document Properties (Ctrl-D) to set such security).

Doug, this is a user to user forum so you get advice here from other users just like yourself.
AFAIK LR will show the embedded jpeg until it renders its own preview after that there is no way to get it to show the embedded jpeg.
When you are importing photos into LR in the import dialog box there is an option to show a preview of the embedded jpeg while the import is actually taking place.
Also this is the regular LR user to user forum and there is a link to the LR 2.0 Beta forum at the top of this forum. Maybe its best to post your question there.

Basically , when you design your analytic views , while designing your data foundation , you can directly join the tables with the corresponding key attributes . Analytic views are capable of optimizing the join operation when we access the view.Logic of joining is purely depends on your business requirement
