How to retain the data in global variable.

Hi all,
i have one login view, when one user logs into it and press enter, then user name get displayed in table. but, when other user login, then that previous user name get flushed off. what i want is to display all the previously logged in users to get displayed in that table whenever new user logs in.
for this, i have declared one node in login view named 'node_user'_login of cardinalty
01 and then bind that node to component controller, After that, i have declared one other node 'node_user' of cardinality 0-n in component controller.i have written the method 'get_user' in component controller through which i m trying to move that 'node_user_login' name to 'node_user' name.
data: m_user type ref to if_wd_context_node,
           c_user type ref to if_wd_context_node,
          USER TYPE REF TO IF_WD_CONTEXT_ELEMENT,
      Stru_users type if_componentcontroller=>Element_NODE_USER.
data: value1(15) type c,
USER_COUNT TYPE I.
m_user = wd_context->get_child_node( 'NODE_USER_LOGIN' ).
m_user->get_static_attributes(
                       IMPORTING static_attributes = stru_users ).
c_user = wd_context->get_child_node( 'NODE_USER' ).
USER = C_USER->CREATE_ELEMENT( ).
USER->set_static_attributes( exporting static_attributes = stru_users ).
C_USER->BIND_ELEMENT( USER ).
USER_COUNT = C_USER->GET_ELEMENT_COUNT( ).
but, it does not shows all the login users, whenever new user logs in , that name get flushed and new user name is displayed. and user_count always returns value 1. whereas it should contain count of all previous users.
Plz help asap. It's urgent.

Hi,
For your table, you should be having an internal table and not a structure.
the declaration will be like:
data: itab_users type if_componentcontroller=>elements_node_user.
Now, what you should do is:
node_user->get_static_attributes_table( importing table = itab_users ).
append stru_users to itab_users.
node_user->bind_elements(itab_users).
This will solve your problem.

How to retain the presentation variable values for Dashboard Prompt

I've a dashboard prompt with date and two other drop down field, with default value as yesterday's date set for date and All Values set for other two drop down list. Presentation Variables are D1, P1 and P2 respectivilly
I'm using GO URL from "Report A" and passing presentation variable to navigate to other report (Report B) that works fine. eg:
'<a href = saw.dll?GO&path=/shared/Reports/ABC/ReportB&Action=Navigate&p0=1&p1=eq&p2="-%20Time"."Next%20Day"&p3=@{d1}>Test</a>'
From Report B I'm using Dashoard URL to go back to Previous Report like:

Return to Previous Screen</div>
This also works fine.
My problem is that, when users selects different values in the Main dashboard prompt for date and other other two drop down and navigates to other report (Report B), and from Report B, when user returns to previous screen (Main Dashboard), Prompts values gets refreshed to original default values.
Is there any way to retain the values of presentation variable in dashboard Prompt when I return to main dashboard from Report B?

Change your dashboard url include the column and column value for the date column sample shown below,

In my second report Date is the first column so I referenced it's value as @1 in the dashboard URL

How to check the data in a temporary table

A procedure inserting data into a temporary table , data exists in the table now. so, how to see the data from the temporary table. Is it possible to see from the sqlplus by selecting, right now i'm not getting any data. .thanks Bcj.

If you are referring to Global Temporary Tables, then the only way to see the contents of the table are to select from the table while connected to the same session that inserted the data into the GTT.
Please note however that there is not a 1 to 1 correspondence between sessions and users (shcemas). A user may be connected to 1 or more sessions, but it is only the session that inserted the records that will be able to view the records.

How to change the date path of Web Server to my system time?

I have downloaded a Countdown SWF file from the Internet. It is working fine with the Computers which have Internet Connection. But not working without Internet connection because of the following line of code in XML file:

When I opened the webpage using the above code, it shows time in a typical digits:
Monday, October 18, 2010 9:12:52 PM in my System -shows in Web browser like : time=1287425579
How to modify the code so that I can use my System time to work with Countdown without Internet Connection.

It appears all that php file does is return a time=value variable. So you need to see where that time variable is implemented in the Flash file and assign it a value using the Date.getTime() method instead of having the PHP file get called into play. Look in the help documents or Google if you do not know how to use the Date class.

How do I see values of global variables in a SAP system

Hi Guys
How do I get to see the values of global variables DIR_GLOBAL etc.
Actually I wanted to run an archive for some IDOCs, and I configured a filepath for the same and gave it an address to my local system, now when I use SARA and after customising the logical path it gives me an error stating that "Logical file path is not completely maintained".
So I resorted to one of the predefined paths ARCHIVE_DATA_FILE and it archived successfully but I am not able to figure out the exact path of the archived file can you please help??

Hello Sujoy,
Execute transaction FILE, double click on Logical File Name Definition, then, scroll down to find ARCHIVE_DATA_FILE - double click on ARCHIVE_DATA_FILE. Note what is entered in the Logical path field and then, go to Logical File Path Definition. Look for the path name from previous step and highlight/select it and click on Assignment of Physical Paths to Logical Path. From there, you can double click on the relevant Syntax group. This will give you the path for where the archive file has been written to.

Can any one help us regarding How to fecth the Date column(or month column) from the file name specified in the path in a generalized way .
For example :
file name is :subscribers (Cost) Sep13.csv is specified in the below path
E:\Accounting\documents\subscribers (Cost) Sep13.csv
here I need to fetch the "Sep13" as a Date column in the ODI 11g in the generalized way.
Can any one help us in this case as early as possible.

I would suggest using a piece of Jython code for this. Something like this...

import os.path
filelist = os.listdir(E:\Accounting\documents\)
for file in filelist:
datestr = file[19:-4]
You'd need to work out what to do with datestr next... perhaps write it to a table or update an ODI variable with it.

How to give the date to the funtction module

Hi.
i want to pass a date from the eban-badat to the function module and the output will be based on this date.
the requirement is like
if the po date .i.e eban-badat is 25th nov 08..then the output b_date should be 1st of november 2008.
that means i want to have the month and year to be same but the date will always be 1st of that month.
please tell me how to do it.
i m doing like:
b_date = it_eban-badat+6(2) .
b_date+4(2) = '01'.
but dont know whether it will work or not.
please explain the correect code.

Hi Tanisha,
You just pass the value of the date to your variable that by using the offset function you can set the date to the first of the month. For example
b_date = it_eban-badat.
b_date+6(2) = '01'.
assuming that the date in eban-badat is 25th nov 2008, which is stored internally as 20081125.
With the above code, b_date = '20081125'. and when you write b_date+6(2) = '01' the new value in b_date = '20081101' which signifies the 1st of the month.

To follow up on your question are you using the maxl scripts for the dataload?
If so I have seen and issue within the batch (ex: load_data.bat) that if you do not have the full maxl script path with a batch when running it through event task scheduler the task will work but the log and/ or error file will not be created. Meaning the batch claims it ran from the task scheduler although it didn't do what you needed it to.
If you are using maxl use this as the batch
"essmsh C:\data\DataLoad.mxl" Or you can also use the full path for the maxl either way works. The only reason I would think that the maxl may then not work is if you do not have the batch updated to call on all the maxl PATH changes or if you need to update your environment variables to correct the essmsh command to work in a command prompt.

How to filter the data on Reports from collected from differnet Agents

1) I have to write a Plug-in which would fetch the same type of data from 7 Agents. I need to generate the report for each Agent separately,This plug-in will be deployed in various different environment. So I will not know the host name as it will be deployed different environment. Can anyone suggest how to filter the data for each agent from the table. I see one solution of using Bind variable for the Target GUID in PL/SQL file. Can you please suggest if there is any other better way of doing this.????
Also Can you please suggest what are the best ways to debug the OEM Plug-in?

What I mean filtering data means displaying data for each Agent Seperatly. Assume I have collected Filesystem data from 5 Agents (5 different server). Now I want do display file system data for Agent1 (server 1). How would I fetch it from MGMT$Metric_Current. Currently I use a bind variable
??EMIP_BIND_TARGET_GUID?? to filter the data for a Agent from MGMT$Metric_Current view. I compare Target Name entered while deploying Plug-in with the Target_Name column of specified view.Is there any other way of fetching data from this table for a Agent?
I hope I am prety clear now. My Problem is IO dont want to force user to enter exact Server name while deploying Plug-in.

You can pass data between frames by passing it as parameters.
That is when you are invoking another frame, pass your data as arguments through the constructor to that frame .
You can also achieve this through static or public methods, but static variables as we know is not suggested which might occupy more memory space.

How to pass the data from a input table to RFC data service?

Hi,
I am doing a prototype with VC, I'm wondering how VC pass the data from a table view to a backend data service? For example, I have one RFC in the backend system with a tabel type importing parameter, now I want to pass all the data from an input table view to the RFC, I guess it's possible but I don't know how to do it.
I try to create some events between the input table and data service, but seems there is no a system event can export the whole table to the backend data service.

Thanks for your answer, I tried the solution 2, I create "Submit" button, and ser the mapping scope to be "All data rows", it only works when I select at least one row, otherwise the data would not be passed.
Another question is I have serveral imported table parameter, for each table I have one "submit" event, I want these tables to be submitted at the same time, but if I click the submit button in one table toolbar, I can only submit the table data which has a submit button clicked, for other tables, the data is not passed, how can I achieve it?
