How to return a pdf (iText) file using Portlet?

Dear all,
I want to know how to return a pdf file using iText API via Portlet.
I can manage to return a pdf file through a standalone servlet, but I don't have idea of how to generate a pdf file via Portlet.
Can anyone help me?

Hello,
that is easy. In your driver program, please check the inputs of the job/ generator function modules.
You provide GETPDF = 'X' attribute what will make the FM not to print the form or display the preview but to return the binary stream of the PDF data (type FPCONTENT) what is a RAW or something. Next look for the PDF output parameter to get the returned binary data and send it as you wish through JCo.

There are a few ways to export your PDF file to Word or Excel files.
Using Web UI:
Log into https://exportpdf.acrobat.com/signin.html with your Adobe ID and password
Select “Export from PDF”
Click “Select Files” button then choose your PDF file
Select the format from the list below
Check ON “Recognized text in” if your PDF file is scanned images to recognize the image to text
Click “Export” button
Click “Download” button in the progress bar after completion of exporting to download the file to your computer.
Using Adobe Reader:
Launch Adobe Reader X or Reader XI
Select “Tools” and click “Sign In” link to sign in with your Adobe ID and password
Select “Export PDF” then click “Select PDF file” link
Select format from “Convert To”
Click “Convert”
Click “Download Converted File” link to download the file to your computer after the process is completed.
Download Files:
All exported files are stored at https://files.acrobat.com and you can login with your Adobe ID and password.
Or at Web UI you can click “FILES” next to “TOOLS” at top or click “View All files” in the file list of “Export from PDF” tool( or “Convert to PDF” or “Combine Files” tools for PDF Pack users) that will redirect you to the above site(https://files.acrobat.com)
From Reader you can click “Store Files” under “Tools” and click the link of “Open Acrobat.com Files”

Well my acquisition code runs perfect. The problem is reading it. I can't seem to read my data no matter what I do. My data gets saved as a string using the array to string vi but I've read that the string to array vi (which I need to convert back to array to read my data) does not work on the pda. I'm using version 8.0. So I was trying to modify the program posted in this discussion so that it would save data from my DAQ. I did that but I still can't read the data after its saved. I really don't know what else to do. All I need to do is read the data on the pda itself. I can't understand why I'm having such a hard time doing that. I found a possible solution on another discussion that talks about parsing the strings because of the bug in the "string to array" vi. However, that lead me to another problem because for some reason, the array indicators or graphs don't function on the pda. When i build the program to the pda or emulator, the array indicators are faded out on the front panel as if the function is not valid. Does this kind of help give a better picture of what I'm trying to do. Simply read data back. Thanks.

Erhm ... you made a PDF and you have a PDG? You mean you have a PDF? And you want to go from the PDF you have to the Pages document you do not have?
If that is indeed what you want, then what you want is not possible. The source data structures of your Pages document are not part of your PDF.
What you can do, though, is to try to extract the Unicode plain text from your PDF. Then you can place that Unicode plain text back into a new Pages document.
For illustrations and images in your PDF you can place the pages with these illustrations and images in your Pages document, and then crop the pages to leave only the illustrations and images you want, leaving out the typographic composition.

You cannot in Adobe Reader. You can try in Acrobat, but first you must try to run OCR (Text Recognition). I have never tried OCR on a script font.

deletion?You need to open a stream to read in the file and then use the indexOf method provided in the Sting class to check if the line contains the date or whatever String you are looking for, if so then skip that line and store or re-write the lines you wish to keep, as well as some extra lines you may wish to add.

The above read a file line by line and prints it to console. You should be able to modify this, instead of using System.out to print the line you should use index of to check the lines for a date/String. Index of return -1 if the String you specify is not in the line you parse.
