How to run adpatch as an unix backgroud process?

I used to apply hugh patches on unix from remote emulator and I had to wait the adpatch completed the patch apply. If I disconnected the emulator/PC from the network and the adpatch job got terminated. How could I run the adpatch as an unix background process such that the job would not die when i disconnect my pc.

To run a Unix process in the background, include an *&* (_an ampersand_) at the end of the command you use to run the job. You may also use nohup command.
I never tried this with adpatch (or with any AD utility), so try it and let us know if it works properly.

IS the process type "delta infopackage " is executing in the process chain or not? Plz once check in SM37 Tcode . and Why r u running the repair full request infopackage . If u miss any delta records then only u have to run the repair full request . If delta records are not extracted then better to manually extract the delta infopackage.
Plz once check in SM37 Tcode whether the execute infopackage process step is running or not? or any error has occured in that PC.

Can any one help me in giving me the command for running an apple script thru postupgrade shell file in other words i wana run an apple script while running my new installer that will upgrade the old version of application but while installing i want to run an applescript so as i know ill have to give that applescript path in the postupgrade script but how to run it while installation and where to keep it (is it postupgrade). May be in short how can i run apple script thru unix command.

Use the osascript command.
In my installer, I use the DropDMG program to build my DMG disk image. It doesn't quit automatically, so I have to do the following:
osascript -e "tell application \"DropDMG\" to quit"
Type "man osascript" for more information.

If you do a 'stty -a' and you will see that your 'kill' character is
set to '@'. You need to set your 'kill' character to be something
other than the '@' character by doing something like 'stty kill '^U''.
You should add this to your .profile or .cshrc file.

Your application should have a main class. Suppose it's called MyMain.class. I'll assume it's in the anonymous package. So you cd to the directory containing the class, and type java MyMainIf it's not in the default package, or is a jar file, say so.

How to run it successfully in test mode?You can apply patch while system is running by using hotpatch option.(If the patch has small size i prefer this.) But if you wonder my idea, i prefer to close application services, than take system to maintainence mode(wiht adadmin utulity) then apply path. After patching end, i am disabling maintainence mode then open application services.

How to run ABAP code as a daemon process?

Background:
I need a daemon process to check status and react on it. This daemon may run for a long time.
Current:
to implement this, use an update module, to call a normal module with an endless loop (the loop may end dependent on some condition). While the message Update Terminate was got.
Question:
1. is the current way feasible? if it's OK, what might be the cause of the above problem?
2. if the current way is not OK. what's the way to run ABAP code as a daemon process?

You could use InDesign Server, that can be run as a service. Have a look at its documentation for more details.

Dear Smercurio,
           Thanks for the good one, but it still requires the windows XP or later OS, when i extract the software, it gives me this error.
           Even Fire Daemon software (same one provided by Alessio in this post) is also running the same, and we even dont have to make it Automatic to start at boot up time, it automatically creates the automatic service which also runs at boot time, so not to worry about anything.

Please provide me the way how to call a job by a script .
I have used Export Execution Command as recommended by below links

You can check the status in "SAP Business Objects Data Services management Console", Below are the steps
Login in SAP Business Objects Data Services management Console
Click on Batch Job
Select the local repository
Then check your Job Execution status from there
For your second query there are two ways one is do the same activity what you have done in DEV.
below are the steps
Login in SAP Business Objects Data Services management Console and export the Jobs using export execution command from batch job
SHELL Scripts will be exported in Job Server Log
Move that SHELL script as per your location
Update the User environment variable same as DEV only difference is SID is changed

It is usually a bad idea to do any major processing directly within a JSP. It is better to create a helper class and invoke methods on that. This helper class can then be tested outside of the inhospitable JSP environment.
To run the '.ksh' file you will need to use either Runtime.exec() or the more modern ProcessBuilder. You will save yourself a lot of grief if you read thoroughly the 4 sections of http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/jw-12-2000/jw-1229-traps.html and then implement the recommendations.
Note - although the 'traps' article is written around the use of Runtime.exec(), it's content is equally applicable to ProcessBuilder.

Hi,
You have to create a broadcast setting and mention the distribution type as export to cache.
Set other attributes of the broadcast setting as required.
Then in the process chain use the process type trigger event data change for broadcasting and mention the infoprovider name which has been loaded by the process chain.
The broadcast setting is scheduled to execute on the data chage event of its base infoprovider.
So when the process chain runs this event process, an event is fired which executes the broadcast setting, which will load the cache..

our developers were getting this error code just the other day. They are using "sqlplus_exec_template" script to initiate these things. In our case, I had to do two thing:
1) Modify their "initiator" script (the one that connects to runtime access user, and then calls "template") - it has to use tns connectivity "user/passwd@service_name"
2) Create TNS entry (server side) for the "service_name" above.
Now these SQL*LOADER mappings run successfully.

I have installed Oracle BPM Enterprise for Weblogic on a headless unix machine. I installed from a Text console as instructed in the Installation guide. However, there is no documentation on what to do next - the configuration guide does not address how to run the configuration wizard or the process administrator in this mode. Help!

Well i don't have it installed on windows
But the path must be similar
You may found the configuration wizard in: <OraBPMwlHome>/bin/obpmconfwizard (to launch the configuration wizard)
and
OraBPMwlHome>/bin/obpmadcenter to launch BPM Admin Center.
Hope this helps
Anyway, you can always use scripts ant to configure and deploy your bpm enterprise
