How to run from the caller's step in teststand

Hi,
When an error occurs in a step during a sequence, I can use the SequenceFilePostStepRuntimeError call back to catch the error. But how can I go back to the step which is the one just raised the error for a retry run again? I do not want to make all test fail straightway, but want to go back to the caller step to have retry a few times 1st.

I have a requirement where I need to send mails in the html format from the send mail step of the workflows.
But what I found out that the html tags are not renderd and as such the output is in plain text.
I know that there is an alternative of using an activity step and use my own custom code from within there,But due to certain business constraints, I need to use the send mail step only.
My SCOT settings are all right.
Please let me know how it can be done.

It can't be done, you have to use your own activity step.
What are these constraints that refrain you from doing that?

How to identify that the call to a BAdI is coming from SAPGUI

Hi All,
In the current project involving SAPCRM 5.0 (both GUI and PCUI), we need to display a pop-up asking the user whether he would like to go ahead with the changes in both GUI and PCUI.
The function module 'Popup-to-confirm' was used in a BAdI implementation and it worked fine in GUI but caused problems in PCUI. So this code was commented out as of now.
Could you let me know as to how should we differentiate the call being placed to a BAdI is from GUI or from PCUI so that we could ensure that the pop-up gets displaced in GUI atleast as of now and does not get populated/cause errors in PCUI as of now?
Else please let me know what is the correct way of displaying a pop-up in both GUI and PCUI in CRM 5.0?

How can I hide the main front panel when I run from the executable?

Hopefully this is an easy question. I have an application where the front panel is not the main GUI and I would like to hide it when the program runs, but only when it runs from the executable. How can I do this?

Why do I get error -17500 when calling a batch file using the call executable step type?

I am calling a batch file using the call executable step type. If the path to the batch file contains a space I get error -17500 and a message stating there was an error in "Post". For example the path to the batch file is "c:\TestWin\Test Files\...\Program.bat" When I run this I get the above mentioned error, however if I change my directory structure so the path is now "c:\TestWin\TestFiles\...\Program.bat" it runs fine. I use the browse feature to find my batch file so it is not me typing in a path incorrectly. I have removed the batch file and I get a different error stating that it couldn't find the file so it appears that for my error it can find the file but can't run it. I am
sure that this has something to do with the fact that batch files are written in DOS but really don't want to resort to changing my directory structure on all my test stations. Is there any way to fix this problem so I can leave a space in my path?

It appears I have figured it out. This was on another computer so I was unaware of how they used their computer. I like you got it to work in the temp directory and in fact got the program.bat file to work as long as I put it under the temp directory, but when I switched out to my TestWin directory it wouldn't work, so I removed everything from the directory except the batch file it self and it work. What I found out after adding files in one at a time is that the person had a file called "Test" with no file extension in there "c:\TestWin\" directory. Removing this file made it work. Putting the file back broke it. So it appeares that when teststand was running it followed the path saw a space and attempted to grab the "Test" file instead of bro
wsing into the "Test Files" directory. If you create a file in your temp directory called "temp" with no file extension you will see the same problem. Thank you for your help.

First my lightning cable wont be recognize. show the error Accesory incompatible.
I try to solve the problem cleaning the golden pins in the cable and in the ipod. Don't work
I enter in diagnostic mode in my ipod and I get stucked in the button counter test..
In the screen appear a mesage 'Please reset the unit to end'. I don't know how to reset the unit
I press any button and only increase the counter for every button.

Your problem is that you are trapped inside an event case. It is not a good idea to run extended code inside event cases, else the event structure cannot service other events.
Why don't you use the outer loop for everything? Now things don't step on each others toes. What good is an event structure if it cannot react at all times???

What command can be run from the cmd to inquire about the language layout that is used right now?

I have windows 7 32bit platform. Is there any command that can be run from the command line just to inquire about the language bar that is currently in use? Suppose I have English keyboard on my machine but I am switching between 3 languages when I write
my documents (e.g. English, German, Spanish). I want to know if there is any way to tell what language layout that is in current use as seen in the language bar. This question is not about how to change language layout from the command line -- just to know
what layout. For example, the command can return some sort of string to indicate which layout is currently in use: "english", "german", "spanish", and so on.
My ultimate goal from this question is to pass this output into an external editor that will hopefully change font based on the input language? Any help to achieve this goal will be much appreciated.
Or put differently, what is the best way to tell an external editor like Emacs about the current language layout that is in current use?

For the current input language you can try using
reg query "HKCU\Keyboard Layout\Preload" /v 1
The return value includes an eight digit hex value. The first four digits indicate either default layout for the language (all zeros) or a variation (non-zero). The last four digits are the locale id - see:

From this table, you can see in the example above my input language is English - Australia.
For the keyboard layout you could try
WMIC Path Win32_Keyboard Get Layout
0409 is an English - US keyboard.

Problems with reports run from the MSS Launchpad

Hi,
The problem I am facing is with the reports being run from the MSS Launchpad. When i click on it, I can see that certain buttons like "Selection Fields", "org Assignment" are disabled. But there in one more button "More" which is enabled and clicking on it gives all the disabled options as enabled. However when the report window is maximized, the button "More " vanishes and all the buttons become disabled.
I need to enable all the buttons now showing as disabled. Eagerly awaiting your reply.

Oh no, Robinbird18! This is not what we like to hear about your cell phone. It makes it pretty hard to have a conversation with someone when you can't hear them. If you make a phone call out are you able to have a conversation with someone without any issues? How long has this been going on? How can I use the call's list?

Dear friends,
I have some problems with a call I received and with my boss.
On my Iphone 4S I can see the list of the last calls. Let's say that I have a 45minutes incoming call from my friend. Looking the detail by the arrow, on the right, I can see also other information, like the complete number and the lenght of the call (45 min, in this case).
Now the point: someone heard me during the call and said I got that phone call form someone else!
I replied that is not possible: you can modify the name of the contact, in this case it seems that I got the call from the new name, but I also showed that if you modify the number too (yes, it's possible) the call disappears from the call list!
Now I have the complete call list and I can show that the "trick" is not possible, but they don't believe me and, since the question is quite important, I'm risking to loose my job.
Can someone give me the confirmation that is not possible to do this? I mean, I want to be sure of my theory that no one can change name and number of the call and keep the call amongst all the other calls...

You cannot use your iPhone as a normal storage system. The only way to get documents and other stuff on it is to sync via iTunes (unless you use an app like evernote, which has its own sync).

How to find out the calling point of a Badi

Say one Badi is getting called in a particular screen of a transaction.
Can anyone please guide me how to find out the calling point for that Badi.
I checked for transaction CC31 screen 2000, method IF_EX_ECM_EXIT~OMR_CHECK_01
is getting called.
But I could not find the calling point.

Go in to the perticular method, and click on where used list.That may help.
Or get into the method in debugging, and press F7. That will take you to the calling point.

When I am on a call in my car I can play and hear the music on my iPhone but when I hang up from the call the music reverts back to my iPhone speaker.

when I am on a phone call in my car I can play and hear my iPhone music thru the car speakers but when I hang up from the call, the sound reverts to my iPhone speaker and longer plays thru the car speaker.

How to record from the video in or S-video Ports on Qosmio G40?

Can anyone tell me how to record from the video in or S-video ports, because i've tried the Ulead DVD factory program and the only capture device it could see was the webcam, and it did capture from it
After that i've downloaded the update file that was provided by the support website
The devices that the program could see are the TV tuner and the webcam (which it couldn't access anymore for some reason)
After that i've downloaded a newer update which simply is the same as the last update and seems that someone in the support website directed the link of the new update which they don't have to the file of the previous update which doesn't really do anything.

There are 2 s-video ports; s-video out port is not designed to capture the signals from any external source. The name of this port says everything; its an OUT port!
The s-video-in port must be placed at the right side of the notebook. Dont mix the both ports. But note; this port receives only the video signals. To hear the sounds, use a video cable to connect the sound terminals of the audio device and your computer.
Red: sound right channel
White: sound left channel
The Ulead DVD Movie factory can be used to capture this signal.
