How to save an email

want it in documents, with address.

I am not sure what you are planning to do with it once you have it, but there is no function that I know of built into the Verizon webmail interface to do what you want.
What I would do is open the email in webmail, then "print" it to a PDF and save the PDF in Documents. If you don't have any way to print to a PDF, assuming you are using a Windows computer, you can get the free PDFCreator software and install it. This will add a new printer to your list of printers, by default called PDFCreator. Then in any Windows application you can "print" to that printer and it will create a PDF and save it wherever you want.
Link for PDFCreator: http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/
I have been using PDFCreator for years, love it. One of the simple things I use it for is to create a PDF of the payment confirmation screen for every payment I make through the web, saves a lot of paper but provides excellent documentation of what and when I paid if I ever need it.
There are many, many other free PDF creation programs available if you don't want to use PDFCreator.
Hope this helps. If you care to explain further what you really want to do with the email perhaps there is some other solution that might work better for you.

  • How to save my emails and adressbook files from an old ibook?

How to save my emails and adressbook files from an old ibook (bought around 2002) ?
The screen from the old ibook doesn´t work anymore (logicboard problem I guess).
I saved everything else with starting it in target modus. That worked fine.
I want to delete the files after that as well, because I wanna give away the old ibook and don´t want anyone to read my emails!
    Little helpers I have:
    A running MacBook
External Screen (and cables to connect)
    Fire Wire Cable

Don't know how helpful this will be but I often copy mail from one computer to another, I drag the mail from the mail window to the other computers drop box, then from the other computer double click it and mail asks me what I want to do with it, of course without a screen you'd need to use back to my mac.
If you don't have back to my mac running, you could set up a second user account on the newer mac, import everything via target mode as suggested by c above, and then drag the mail to the first user account drop box.

  • How to save jpeg email attachment to iphoto?

i'm an iphoto (and mac os x) newbie, and i can't figure out how to save a jpeg attachment that someone has sent me so the image shows up in iphoto. what is the easiest way to do this? i'm using apple mail and iphoto 6 on a macbook pro running os 10.4.5. although occasionally i'd like to save jpegs from my web-based hotmail account too. thanks
MacBook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

The easiest way to do this in Mail is; next to the attachment field in Mail, you'll see Save & Slideshow. Use the Save pull down menu to "add to iPhoto" & the Slideshow is just what it says, it will do a slideshow of the photos in your email attachment.
I don't use Hotmail, but I'm sure all you do is click on the image, File>Save>Desktop. From there you can drag the image into iPhoto. Or simply drag the image from Hotmail to your Desktop or directly into iPhoto.
    I hope that was helpful.

  • Mail how to save an email address from new message created?

Hi, I create a new message, type in the address, but i want to save the address in the address book. How the heck is this possible?
If i select the email address i control click it, there is NO menu and no options to save the address.
If i click on the AddressBook button in the tool bar, there is no add button, and i can't drag it to across either, or copy/paste.
The Help says "In a message that you are sending, click the arrow in a Smart Address you have entered and choose "Add to Address Book" from the pop-up menu." There is absolutely NO arrow and NO menu. Even when i turn ON 'Use Smart Addresses' There is absolutely Nothing in ANY menu that lets me save the address.
So how the frell is it even possible to save an address? So what, i have to send the email first then wait for someone to reply before i can select 'Add sender to AddressBook' from the message menu? This is madness and certainly not easy or intuitive. And what is the point of the AddressBook button in new messages toolbar? It does nothing. It opens a window and has no options to add an address or enter any details, only has 'TO' But i already know the address!!! Even if i create a new mail , I click the Address book button highlight the address in the list then click the 'TO' button, it does absolutely nothing, im expecting it to just add this address to the address field in the new mail i just created. I then closed the new mail, instead i click the AddressBook button in the main Mail app toolbar, i select an address in the resulting window, hit the 'TO" button, and mail creates a new message, but it doesn't add the address to the new mail's address field, nor does it close it self behind. What a disaster. I thought this was supposed to be simple and eazy, its a nightmare of a design.
I tried 10.4.5 and now just upgraded to 10.4.6 same problem.
Frustrated at the lack of intuitiveness.

Simplest I find is to send the message then look at it in your Sent mailbox. Move the mouse over the To: address and the address will get a blue bubble background with a drop-down arrow at the right end; click this and one of the options should be "add to address book".
When you start a new message, and click the Address book icon on its toolbar, an address book window should appear with all the entries (individual and group) from your address book. Selecting one (or several) of the entries and clicking to will add them to the To header in your new mail. Alternatively you can drag them. If this is not the behaviour you are seeing, please repost with a more descriptive subject. (It is better for both those trying to help, and those seeking solutions, if the problem described matches the subject!)
Once you have brought up the little address book window its design behaviour is to stay until you dismiss it; as you say, it does not close when you close the new email. At this stage, selecting an entry and clicking To should start a new email with the To header containing the selected email address. If this is not happening I suspect it is related to your previous problem, so I would include the description there.

  • How to save incoming email images?

I have a Mac desktop running on Lion OS X. When someone sends me an email with photo attachment, how do I save the photo? I tried right clicking the image and in the drop down box I am prompted to either Copy image or Save Attachment. I tried Copy Image but do not see how or where to Paste it (a la Windows). Actually I wanted to save it to a Picture folder in Adobe Lightroom. Will this work?

Save the attachment (goes to your Downloads folder) and move it where you want.

  • How to save certain email messges

How do I group certain email messages to save and retrieve them

If the email was downloaded to the device it will stay there wether their is internet or not.  You don;t need the internet to view previously received emails.
You can try it out by putting the iPad in Airplane mode, and then opening the mail App.  It will show whichever emails it had downloaded up until Airplane mode was enabled.
If you want to to save the contents you can always just copy it to a note in the Notes App.

  • I can't seem to find how to save sent emails on my hard drive

I've created a folder on a partition, but when I go to account settings to save copies there, it only shows a trash bin.

You're trying to do two things at once here.
Thunderbird saves its messages in its own message store. It doesn't use arbitrary folders on the HDD. If that's where you want messages, outside of Thunderbird, you'll need to explicitly export them. This add-on:
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools/
may be useful in doing this.
However, if you wish to move your message store (and much else) to a different location, look at moving the Thunderbird profile.

  • Cant understand how to save old emails for quick reference.

I saved old e-mails in folders called Jones, Jonathan by names first. Then saved his correspondence to and from me by date first, then subject we talked about. I am a historical researcher who has switched from XP to Windows 8.1. I have about 29,000 research letters filed by name, then date, then details in the subject line. I cannot afford to lose them, so will not put the XP computer on line at all now.
Meanwhile I need to keep new research letters in a Correspondence file that will not be stored at my ISP. It seems to get messed up after about 10 pages of letters in my IN Box. Do I have to invent some method of transferring a letter into Word, and then storing it under the Jones, John, then Filed by dates, and then subject so I can easily refer to them? I have about 250 different researchers on one subject that I need to keep track of for letters. I can do this also for Family and then again for Friends in different professions, and also for a few different Clubs I belong to, etc. Is there an easy way to do this? Can I have all my letters translate into Word documents before I even see them the first time? I do not subscribe to any groups that want to sell me something or any social media at all. Any help will be much appreciated.

I am an advanced researcher in one subject. I have about 250 researchers I communicate with over the years.
How on earth do I access their letters from say, 1982, when we were discussing something about John Jones in in Grey County in 1852? I know we have discussed that for sure. And that researcher is related to him distantly. In addition, I have about 250 very specific references to John Jones who are totally different men, from different places. I know all the different families from early Canada (basically 1600's to the 1800's). Ancestry.com doesn't even come close to having this type of info organized the way I do.
Back to the question - How do I keep this info organized the way I need to do it. They are real people and can't be treated like numbers. We discussed John Jones from Essex County, Ontario another time and decided he was not the same family at all. etc. The same holds true for a lot of other researchers.
I know Word is proprietary but tell me a better way of Keeping this correspondence straight. Open Office is not the answer. Linux is not the answer either. File cabinets full of correspondence to and from Jane Jones and 250 others used to be the answer - but now it is NOT!
When Word stopped supporting the massive files I already had from my early computers, I had to buy a program that would read Word from discs of letters I had filed from Jane Jones written to and from her, in about 1992. These were kept on separate floppies at that time and I wanted to incorporate them into my 'modern' list of correspondence that started about Y2K.
Do I need a program that will take the text out of an e-mail and automatically, give me the option of editing it for a title, starting with the date, and also the option of filing it where I want like Jane Jones, or Smith, Fred or more specifically Smith, Sally - Descendant of Sam Smith b. 1630 in MA?
And don't tell me I need to put this into an Excel sheet because it has room for thousands of searchable entries. I just need a secretary - or more correctly about a dozen of them. Putting all this research from the XP computer into anything connected to the internet is a total disaster.
It's all very nice to be patriotic and suggest it is safe in the cloud etc. but it is absolutely not ! Windows will throw out so many automatic corrections, firewalls, messages that something is wrong, your computer is locked etc. that you will have to commit Harry-Carry. There has to be a way of saving real correspondence, with real people who don't want to to bother with 'social' media. Help!!

  • How to save old email database, and make a new one

can anybody please lead me to a direction sheet for saving your old email database, making a new one, and then importing the old messages into the new database?
    thanks in advance

I have been trying to figure out why my mac mail will start to down load, and then it stops. I have 50 messages that i'm trying to POP and it start out fine, then after 10 or so messages it stops. i have tried to delete the messages from the server to see if there is some specific message that is causing problems to no success.
so now i'm trying to just remove the old Messages and start a new mail data file from scratch. then move the old messages into it, that is if it can be done.

  • How do i save an email on my ipad to a file on the ipad?

This is the second time I have submitted this question.  I cannot now find where the original question went or any replies. I have an ipad 2 and I need to know how to save an email from my inbox on the ipad to a file, for later reading outside of the email client.  I have tried GoodReader, and it will save attachments in email, but not the email itself.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you,
    Rbinlex

    Hi Rbinlex,
I have had a similar issue and got to playing around with some of the apps I have. It turns out the app Air Sharing allows me to connect to my mail server (hotmail for me) as if it were a file browser, and access the contents of the email in either plain text or html, as well as any attachments. Then its a simple matter of opening the file in another app or saving it to Air Sharing's documents folder (the app is basically a file system for the ipad with access to many types of servers).
Air Sharing is a bit expensive, but i don't know of any alternatives.
    Hope this helps :)

  • Touch 2: How Do I save a email Photo Attachmt?

    Hello.
Although I've tried twice to "Save Screen Image" while viewing a JPEG attachment to an email, I cannot find it file anywhere on my Touch 2. I have even used the Search Phone app, but it only found the original email sitting in my inbox.
Has anyone discovered how to save an email file attachment?
Thanks for any thoughts on this.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Try this... open the email so you see the pic as an attachment, tap and hold on the attachment a a little "save as" button should pop up... tap on this and you shoiuld get a save as page which will allow you to choose main memory or storage card (you'll see that if you minimise the keyboard) and you can then select the folder in which you want to save it etc.
    Hope that helps,
