How to save the waveform chart information

I am attaching a VI which recordes the power and wavelength from a ILX lightwave power meter. I had added waveform chart to the program to record the values of quatities with respect to time. Please kindly help me to read the quantities on time with saving the values from initial time to final time. I I use shift registers with a built array in the while loop , will it retains the past values?

I don't quite understand. If I wire a waveforme to a waveform chart it stores an processes data as waveform i.e. t0,dt and [y]. This, to me is in respect ot time.
If you meant, though, that it doesn't do that in his case, I very much agree with you.

thanks a lot for the suggestions, here is the attached code... please follow the following steps to run it..
ONce you hit play,press either Start Main/Cyl UP button on the front panel,
once you start observing the waveforms, you can press the Cyl_Dwn button on the front panel... You can observe that the state changes to Start Counter state,
and the waveform chart also stops updating... I would like both the waveform charts to conitnuously show the data even if the state is changed....
Now on LabVIEW 10.0 on Win7

How to take the print out of the entire data from the waveform chart

i am using cont acq to spreadsheet file.vi to acquire data from a number of channels. this vi also plots the acquired data on the waveform chart. i want to take the print out of the entire data. how can i do it ?
also how can i take print out of the data between given interval??

There are a number of different ways of achieving your goal. Depending on which version of LabVIEW you have and which development environment, the Report Generation Toolkit is a very powerful tool. Attached is an example that prints the acquired data without the use of additional toolkits.

Why does AI Read(Asynchronous).vi cause the waveform chart to not display any history ?

I trying to create a strip chart for 16 channels that will require displaying 10-20 minutes of data.It also starts a separate vi to set gains and offsets while displaying the data. Using AI Read.vi uses 100% of the CPU so the second vi does not run. But using AI Read (async).vi allows the second vi to run, but causes the waveform chart to not display the history? I'm using LabView version 6.0.2.

I have a couple of questions that may help us solve this issue...
1) If you are modifying one of our example programs, which one did you start with?
2) What kind of analog input are you doing? Buffered? Finite or continuous?
3) Have you tried increasing the buffer size of the strip chart? This will allow the chart to store more data in it.
4) When you use the Async VI, and when you are using the other, can you describe how the strip chart is showing the data... does the data in the chart keep growing and growing... or does it clear itself and start over when the pine reaches the end?
I think this issue is rooted in how the buffer is being used with the two different AI Reads and how it returns data to the chart.
On a side note, have you considered upgrading to a newer version of LabVIEW? Our latest versions of LabVIEW come with many new features and it is signifigantly easier to use.

How do you reset Waveform chart to blank?

I have a VI with a Waveform chart in the WHILE loop, and each time I STOP the vi and re-start it, the old data remains in the display and moves out only as new data is collected. This old data persists even after the VI is closed and re-opened.
Is there a way to remove the old data each time the VI is run, in other words to make the blank screen the default for the Waveform chart? Right now, every time I open and run the VI, there is a squiggly line in the display, from irrelevant/useless data collected previously, and it would be cleaner and less confusing if there was no old data displayed there.

Thanks, but, still confused. I already have a data source wired to the Waveform graph. I cannot wire two things to the Waveform graph...so...can you offer more information? See the vi below....Waveform graph allows only one thing to be wired into it....
Are you suggesting wiring an empty array each time I use the VI and then reconnecting the data source?

Save a waveform chart

Hello!
I am trying to save a Waveform chart into a file usin the Save waveform to a file.
I have been doing test with ramdom numbers in little programs and I was able to save then in waveforms, but I can not do the same in the program that recieves the serial data.
I have attachet my program.
I well be be gratefull if someone could help me. I am sure is a little thing what is wrong but I can not find it.

And unless you only want only the very last acquisition recorded, you're going to have to change your VI. When the while loop stops, all it passes to the write waveform is the very last 1D array captured. If you want all data saved, put the write inside the while so that with every iteration you append to the same file. Or, turn on indixing where the 1D array exits the while loop. This will create a 2D array of all data acquired. Also, using Write Waveforms to file is probably not the best function unless you are actually creating a waveform datatype with timing info. Write to Spreadsheet will write a 2D array of DBLs or create a waveform datatype inside the while loop

According to your description, users need to type username and password before they can open the SSRS report when reopening IE, right? If I have anything misunderstood, please point it out.

How to save a waveform from TDS3000 series oscilloscope to PC via GPIB?

Hi, I'm a summer intern and I've been recently assigned the task to transfer a telecom pulse mask waveform from a TDS3054 to the PC via GPIB. My question is, is there anyway that I can save the waveform on the scope and transfer the file onto my PC? Or even better yet, save the waveform directly onto my PC in a spreadsheet format?

First, download the instrument driver for the TDS3054 scope from National Instruments' Instrument Driver Network. Depending on what software you have installed on your system, you may need to download additional software (look at the "Required Software" section). If you have Measurement Studio 6.0 and the NI-GPIB driver, you should have everything you need.
Once you've installed the instrument driver, look at the instructions that came with the instrument driver for how to save and read from your oscilloscope, and look at the instructions here for how to use that instrument driver with Visual Basic 6.0.

I want to use Get Panel Image in Labview 5.0.1 and need details on how to save the BMP data generated

I am trying to generate an application that saves a copy of its front panel on completion. This is easy to do using an invoke node with Print VI to HTML but this does not work in an .exe format. I have seen elsewhere that you have to use the Get Panel Image method, but no details are supplied in LV 5.0.1 documentation of how to use the "image" data (1-D Unsigned Byte array) that is generated. I want to save this in a format that can then be read as a bitmap in any standard graphics package. Any assistance?

Hi,
If you'd upgrade to LV5.1 or 6 you could use the 'standard' vi's for this.
You need a VI called "Write BMP File.vi". It's not shipped with LV5.0.1.
This vi only uses 3 subVI's, so perhaps someone at NI can convert it and
send it to you (sorry, I won't, it's copywrited).
If you cannot get this VI anywhere, you'll need to figure out the BMP file
format yourself. It's not too complicated, but still could take some days.
Perhaps someone figured it out before LV5.1 was released.

I have successfully locked the cell by using Data validation of Excel function in BPC input schedule. But when I save and reopen it once again the data validation does not work.
