How to scan on HP

I have an HP Officejet 7410 and am unable to scan.I have looked at http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&obje ctID=c01664444&prodTypeId=15179&prodSeriesId=28441
and it didn't help. I see that scan pro isn't supported but when I try to open Image Capture, I am told no camera or scanner connected. What do I need to do?

Joan, I own a HP Officejet Pro L7590. Different model, but experienced similar problems on my MacPro. I was unable to get the printer to scan. It took me absolutely ages to solve the problem. Every time I removed my printer queue, then added it again, the scanner part was missing, but I could print to it just fine. My printer is connected to my network via ethernet.
I tried the following steps;
a) ... removed the printer from the printer queue (within software preferences > print & fax)
b) ... removed the hp folder from my dock and the applications > hp folder from my computer (sort of risky ... you may decide to skip this step!!)
c) ... inserted my original snow leopard dvd and reinstalled all the optional printer software from the optional software install on the dvd.
d) ... powered down my computer AND my printer
e) ... powered on my computer
f) ... powered on my printer
g) ... pressed the scan button on my scanner (even though it had no "destinations" to scan to, just to "wake up" the scanner component of the printer)
h) ... through system preferences > print & fax, pressed the + button and added the printer back into the system again.
this time both print and scan tabs appeared for my printer in the "print & fax" screen.
when i pressed the "open scanner..." button, it actually took several minutes for my mac pro to establish a session with the scanner. It also takes a while for the image capture to establish a session with the scanner too!! But works after a couple of minutes and scans nicely.
I am now able to scan with my HP Hope this helps you out in your situation.
best regards,
Dave Young

  • How to scan multiple pages in one file

I would like to know how to scan multiple pages into one file.  There is no add button that comes up.  I have a HP Officejet 8600 and a macbook pro.  Please help, this would really help me out.

Open Preview and use its "Import From Scanner" option in the File menu. This will launch the scanning interface, which has some standard and basic scanning controls. If you choose "PDF" as the file format to save as, then you will see an option to scan all images to one file. When you do this, you will scan and edit them individually, but Preview will save them to the same file when saved.

  • Has anyone figured out how to scan from an HP officejet Pro 8600 after upgrading to OS 10.9.4

Has anyone figured out how to scan to  a MacBook Pro with 10.9.4 from HP officejet Pro 8600?

iMovie acts as it does, I suspect, because it's so much safer (and easier) to program.
As iMovie is now structured, each clip has a startFrame and an endFrame. They show the starting point and ending point of that clip in its source file. There's only one of each. Simple.
For us to remove a portion of the middle without splitting the clip in two, iMovie would have to allow each clip to have multiple start/end points. So iMovie would have to "remember" that the clip starts playing at frame 100, stops at frame 120, starts again at frame 150, stops at frame 200, and so on. Very complicated.
The amount of data that would be required to undo a change, for example, could become quite large, and be very, very complicated. Lots of opportunity for errors. Imagine what iMovie would have to "remember" if we could remove the middle, added a title to the clip, remove part of the title, then split the clip and applied a slow motion effect to the second part of the split.
This way is simpler, and not all that inconvenient for users, in my opinion. I prefer simple when it adds to reliability.

  • How to scan data from one internal table to another

    Hi All,
let me know how to scan all from one internal table to another internal table. Pls provide me the syntax and code.
i am very thankful to you all in advance.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Nagarjuna.

if u want to copy data from itab1 to itab2  then use
    itab2[] = itab1[].
if u want to compare whether both itab1 and itab2 are same or not,use
    if itab1[] = itab2[].
    *--same
    else.
    *--not same
    endif.
if u want to compare itabs based on primary key....
    loop at itab1.
    read table itab2 with key f1 = itab1-f1.
    if sy-subrc <> 0.
    *--not same....
    endif.
    endloop.
if u want to copy only few lines(say from 1 to 3) of itab1 to itab2 then use...
append lines of itab1 from 1 to 3 to itab2.
if internal tables don't have same structure,
say only fields f1 and f2 are common, then
    loop at itab1.
    itab2-f1 = itab1-f1.
    itab2-f2 = itab1-f2.
    append itab2.
    clear itab2.
    endloop.
if there are many common fields then...
    loop at itab1.
    move-corresponding itab1 to itab2.
    append itab2.
    clear itab2.
    endloop.
Please don't forget to reward points....!!!

  • How to Scan using your HP Office Jet Pro 8600

Well, I figured out my own answer because I couldn't find a "solved" topic in this regard. So then I decided to post my findings in order to help the next querier (is that a word = one who queries). FYI -  I am not a 'techie' and while I can find my way around a computer it sometimes takes a while.  Also, I have Windows 7 on this laptop if that makes a difference.
    1. Go to Control Panel and choose:
    2. Hardware and Sound, then
    3. Devices & Printers, then
    4. Fax-HP Office Jet Pro 8600 (Network) or whatever printer choice pertains to your situation, then
    5. HP Printer Assistant, then
    6. Scanner Actions, then
    7. Scan a document or photo, then
    8. Save as PDF
    9. Scan
    10. Save to folder you choose
I know this may seem simplistic to most of you but maybe someone like me is out there trying to find this out and this might help.

    Hi Acupuncture,
Thank you very much for posting your solution that you found yourself, on using the scan function on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8600. I also apologize we were not fast enough to answer one of your inquiries on the HP Support Forums. I was able to check your user page but was unable to find your initial post on asking us How to Scan, did you delete the question? Either way I am glad you are now up and scanning from your OJ 8600.
For future reference I would like you to take a look here: How to Scan: Windows 7, here you will be given all options and shortcuts on scanning with or without the HP software as well as some cool features, like scanning from the front panel of your 8600 and adding multiple pages to a single file.
Again I appreciate you taking the time to help the other Community members, so Thank you again!!

  • How to scan a hard copy to pdf that I can convert to word for editing?

    Hi,
The software provided for your device does not include OCR functionality
You may use any 3rd part OCR solution to scan as editable text.
If you have Microsoft Office suite there is a good chance the office suite provide this kind of capabilities:
    Office 2007 or 2010:

  • How to scan photos in jpg in windows 8 instead of pdf

I had Windows Vista with photo gallery. Now i have Windows 8 with no photo gallery, but photos in a different format(they say photo gallery is not compatible with windows 8). I used to scan pictures and documents and they were saved in jpg. Now they are saved in pdf and cannot be saved to jpg. Also have cannon printer MG2220. I started to download something, then decided to delete it when it said it wanted to change the hard drive somehow...
Any ideas how to convert the pdfs to jpgs or to reset the thing somehow? Stuff I have read on here is for Windows 7 or XP with photo gallery (which I don't have..or at least I don't think that is the name of it..). donna

  • How to scan both sides of document in color to pdf with the dr-m160?

how to scan both sides of document in color to pdf with the dr-m160?

    Hi healthynhappy1.
To scan a 2-sided document, you will need to change the scanner settings in the software.
If you are using Capture On Touch:
You will need to turn off the "Scan in Full Auto" option.
Next, you will open [Scanner Settings] and change the "Scanning Side" to Duplex.
Verify that the [Color Mode] shows "24-bit Color" and when you get the option to save the file, verify the [File Type] shows as "PDF".
    If you are using CapturePerfect:
    Click [Scan].
    Click [Scanner Settings].
Change the [Scan Side] to "Duplex".
Verify that [Color Mode] is set for "Color" and then save the file as "PDF".
I hope that this information is helpful to you.  Should you need further assistance, please contact us at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666).  Have a great day!

  • Can anyone tell me how to scan documents to the icloud, so they will be on the ipad.  My husband is planning on using the ipad for work.

Can anyone tell me how to scan documents to the icloud, so they will be on the ipad?  My husband is planning on using his ipad for business.  I haven't been able to even find anywhere that I could read about scanning documents.

If you scanned the documents - what format did you save them in - pdf? If so, Pages will not open pdf files. you can save a file and export it as a pdf from Pages - but not the other way around.
If you need simply view the documents - you can send them to the iPad via email or DropBox and them open and save them in iBooks. or Adobe Reader. both apps are free. Adobe Reader can use file sharing in iTunes to transfer the files.
If you need to annotate the files - you will need an app like Goodreader - which can use file sharing from iTunes in order to transfer the files as well. GoodReader may work with iCloud now, but you will have to check that out in the App Store.
You can read this to see how to use file sharing. It really is pretty easy to use. You do need to do this with your computer.

  • How to scan multiple photos into separate

I have a hp envy 5660.  I often have to scan multiple photos and on my old printer it would show them as individual files on the scan page.  I can't figure out how to do that with this printer.  I want to scan multiple photos, have them save as individual phhotos so I can print them out on 4 x 6 photo paper.  Any ideas? Thanks!

    Hi @bird22557,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I noticed that you are wondering how to scan multiple photos into separate files with your HP Envy 5660 printer on Windows 7. I am happy to look into this scanning issue for you!
I would recommend to go through this how to scan guide, Scan from Windows 7 With the Full Feature HP Software for HP Multifunction Printers, you can try with HP software or without HP software. As there are multiple ways of scanning.
For future reference, here is your printer's user guide as well, HP ENVY 5660 e-All-in-One Printer User guides.

I have a HP Laserjet M1120 but I don´t know how to scan. Can you help me?

Your Model apparently needs to use Apple's "Print & Scan" which is found in Applications>System Preferences>"Print & Scan".  There you will follow the following instructions from the HP Support site to Scan, for instance:
Place the item that you want to scan on the scanner glass, or load it into the automatic document feeder (ADF) if your printer has one.
Click the Apple menu (# ), and then click System Preferences .
    Click Print & Scan (# ).
Click your printer in the left pane.
Click Scan , and then click Open Scanner .
Click Show Details . The details of the scan display, including options to change scan settings.Figure 4: Example of the Show Details scanning screen#
Change any scan settings as necessary, and then click Scan .NOTE: Make sure to select either the Flatbed mode or the Document Feedermode, depending on your printer and how you plan to scan.
    Hope this helps

    Hi midandco,
I would suggest deleting the printer from your print system, using this document: Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Once you have deleted it, I would suggest verifying and repairing the disk permissions: About Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions feature.
I would also suggest running your Apple updates:  OS X: Updating OS X and Mac App Store apps
After the updates, I would recommend readding the printer with theOS X v10.9 Mavericks: Installing and Using the Printer on a Mac.
