How to schedule an interface in ODI

Hi,
I have created an interface which loads data into essbase. I need to schedule this interface so that the dataload runs periodically. How can i do it?
I also need to configure mails as and when the dataload completes. Please suggest

This is possible to do the scheduling in RWB Communication Channel monitoring, but its not possible to do it in the File adapter configuration, here you can only set the interval.
If you want to pick the file everyday then give the pooling interval as 86400 secs(606024) and activate your adapter at exactly 12:00AM.
since the pooling interval is 86400 secs(1 day)it will pick the next file at exactly 12:00AM every day

How to execute unix command through odi and store the result in table

I have to reconcile if data is loaded in table from csv file or not . I have to create a oracle data integrator package/interface/procedure to execute unix command to count number of rows in the csv files and store the count result in a table then i have to query the loaded table and count number of rows there and store in the table and have to compare is counts are same or not, Please assist me how to make package/interface/procedure to execute unix command and store result in oracle table.

Use ODI OS command tool in the ODI package.
create an interface in ODI using LKM File to Sql and the output file generated with the csv file's row count as a source and the db table(where the count needs to be stored) as a target

How to exclude synchronous interfaces from component based message alerting

Hi Pi experts,
We are configuiring Alerts in PI 7.3 single stack.If we have 'n'number of interfaces, and if we configured general alerts for all.How to exclude synchronous interfaces in that.Alerting is for asynchronous interfaces only.How to do that.

I haven't tried it but i think u can do that, since these consumers are nothing but JMS queues only so i think there will be a method to read number of alert counts.

If ur max alert parameter is greater than 1 then u should see multiple alert text (along with message id and other details) in ur email message.

Can somebody please tell me how to use temporary interface in another interface as derived table in 10g.
I have an option in odi 11g to this task.But i am working on odi 10g for my project.So that please help me to do this task.
I can able to create temporary interface in 10g ,but i dont know how to use that temporary interface in another inerface as derived table.

A temp interface CANNOT be used as a derived table in ODI 10g.
All you can do is to drag and drop the temp interface as the source in the mapping.

How to perform loop action in ODI

hi all,
i want to implement a function which fetches data from 3 tables and then inserts into one table
but the problem is there with the loop.
the function contains a loop and i dont know how to implement a loop in odi.
anyone can give a solution.

yes i have fk between the tables but i am not able to understand that how to apply the exit condition and how to tell the interface that if the exit condition is not satisfied then again loop back.
can you please explain this in detail.

What do you mean by "create datastores"?
If you mean you want to reverse engineer existing tables from a database, then the phrase used in the ODI docs is "reverse enginnering". If you mean to create new tables in a database, then:
1) ODI is not meant to be a database design tool.
2) Using the "diagrams" node under a data model, you are able to use the "Common Format Designer" (CFD) tool to design and create the structure. The CFD tool is a simple ER-digram tool, but importantantly, if you drag structures in from one model to another, it remembers where it came from, allowing automatic generation of interfaces, and it automatically translates the data types.

How to do file validation with ODI 10.1.3.5

Please help me, how to handle file validation with ODI?
My source is files.
Requirement:
With ODI i have to do the file validation and file data loading successfully. Once it is successfully done then i have to move the particular file and move to different directory.
Any internal tool is there in ODI package to watch the file.

Hi Suresh,
You can do your file loading and validation in an ODI interface.
Once you are done with the interface, add it to a package, you can set up subsequent steps in the package to move the file to another location using the built in ODI file utilities in the package.

We want to schedule PI interface every 1 hour but with a condition that interface should not run between 6:00 PM to 11:59 PM.
We were checking ATP for this but were not able to achieve the same. Please suggest how this can be done.

How to schedule a package to run with package scheduler in BPC 5.1 MS

We are on BPC 5.1 Service Pack 2.
I have a few schedules that run import packages that were set up by a consultant who is no longer with the company. I need to know how to change the userid associated with the package schedules so that they can reflect my name and not the consultant's. I attempted to select the edit parameters but it didn't have the userid on it as an area to update or change.
Also, how do I create new package schedules to run as I have other packages that I would like to set to run automatically on the system? I did not see an option to create the package schedule in the selections.

I find it easier & more reliable to create a new package schedule, rather than edit an existing one, when trying to change the user. Likewise, I've never been able to transport a schedule from one environment to another. Easier to just set up a new one.
Go to eData -> Packages Schedule Status to delete the existing job. (Before deleting, make sure you note the scheduling options, and any other package-specific options that have been scheduled.)
Then eData -> Run package, and choose "schedule" instead of "run now". The schedule here will be set up under the user ID you've used to log into BPC. After you've created the schedule in this way, you can go back later and edit it further (with greater scheduling options) in the "packages schedule status" interface, or via Windows scheduled tasks.

i mean frequency of file( from non-sap ) is weekly once, monthly once,daily three times, everyday at 1:00 pm like that.

Is this to run periodically ?
During the request submission, click schedule, choose the specific days, and click on S = Sunday.
Change the start date on the date of the sunday you want to run, eg : 15-JUL-07 14:00:00, change the end date as well.

SM36 tcode
and provide
Job Name , Job class
( depends on the priority whther A,B, or C).
and then choose
start condition
on the application tool bar
and then choose
Date/Time
button in the new window appeared.
Provide Schedule start data and time.
if you want to execute periodically then select
Periodic job
check box..
then SAVE button to be pressed to save the these settings.
then choose
STEP button
on the application toolbar and provide
Program name and variant name and lang ..
Press the SAVE button.
so program is scheduled to runn in BG mode at the specified time.
but while giving time we have to give server time not the system time
