How to: script or shortcuts

Hi,
I am 3 weeks into using the mac and loved it.
I have set my imac to NEVER sleep because I am always constantly doing FCP video captures. When I am done with it, I have to manually go back to reset my sleep and energy preferences.
I am just wandering to see if there is/are any shortcuts or scripts that I can create to reset the preferences or do any type of scripting within mac os. This way, I can just click on the script and it will do the job for me.
Any help appreciated.

How to script a shortcut for dead styles but still alive?

When style B is based on style A the instruction «select all unused» [in order to delete them] is not real if style A is still resident in style B as «Based On» [premise: A is now unused...after changes in the layout remained unusable)
The idea of opening B, D, E , E etc to tag them as based in «no paragraph» in order to delete A', B', C for cleaning table of styles is a consuming task.

Hi, yes, deleting A, when is still present in B, will damage the entire file.
But the path is when style B is opened and changed to «based on no paragraph».
Now style A may be deleted.
The idea is a script that go to all the styles in the document and make inside this operation.
Now you may delete the unused styles and nothing strange happens.
The idea is to obtain a clean publication for the future (while working many times is no time to spend in avoid styles based on no paragraph o to delete...)

OK, I'm going the applescript route. When I run the script within automator, it works fine. However, when I run the script from a menu as a service, it has no effect at all on iTunes. I must be missing something.

I'm giving XFCE a try lately after all of the changes I'm seeing, I'm trying to add a new shortcut to ease some tasks but I don't have a clue on how to do it.
I go to Settings -> Keyboard and there to "Application shortcuts". Then I select to add a new one and point to the script I want to run, but I don't have a clue on how to select the shortcut. I've tried pressing the keys I want to bind, but no way.

It is the next screen Pick the command, click OK. It then throws up a box telling you to press the key combination. It will show as you push meta, shift and control modifiers. When you hit a character that generates a keystroke, it saves it, along with the modifiers.

Near the right-end of the address bar is a white star which can be difficult to see, but look closely. When you wish to bookmark a shortcut to the toolbar, double click the star. A window will open with the name of the webpage. Under that is the folder box which will probably read 'Unsorted Bookmarks'. Click the drop down arrow and change it to 'Bookmarks Toolbar' then click done.
I have several folders on my toolbar such as Music, Mail, etc. in which I add multiple websites. If you wish to add a folder, click the second drop down arrow next to 'Bookmark Toolbar' and click 'New Folder' and give it a name.
To add a bookmark to a folder, again double click the star, make sure you are in Bookmark Toolbar and click one of the two drop down arrows to find the name of the folder.
For other bookmarks use Bookmark Menu. Whatever is added here can be accessed by Bookmarks on the Menu Bar. If your Menu Bar with Bookmark, File, View, etc. is not visible, click the Alt key and they will become visible. To keep the Menu Bar, click View, Toolbars and check Menu Bar.

I updated via my iPhone 4s. The apps were on my iPhone 4s. That's all the information that I have. The update to ios7 seems to have gone smoothly - everything else is working, phone texting, email, internet, etc. But all of the apps I had installed over the past year are no longer showing up as shortcuts. No facebook, no twitter, no espn, etc. They are all still listed in my app store as purchased, but the shortcuts and my folders are gone. Thanks.

Well, if it's forms 10g, you can simply add the URL in your favourites and open it by selecting it from favourites menu of internet explorer.

Well - I know how to create a shortcut menu for a control, but how is it created for a pane? There is the possibility to add an event case for a shortcut menu linked to a pane (see picture), but how can I create this menu?

Just use the shortcut Menu Activation filter event? to create a menu.

How to delete desktop shortcuts

Hello all,
Can anyone tell me how to delete desktop shortcuts with LabVIEW.
I tried with delete.vi & through cmd but its deleting actual source file.
Just I want to remove corresponding shortcut from desktop (It should not delete actual source file).
Please help me if anyone have idea.
