How to secure application when launch application program?

I'm making java application. and I want to know this procedure.
1. program install. (when Internet connected)
2. Only Computer has authorized MAC address can use program.
I think it is similar to Photoshop license KEY. but it is different. Here is using MAC address.
Do you have any idea?
thanks in advance and have a nice day.

Do you realize this is all pointless, because the MAC address can be changed by the user?Not to mention NIC cards are among the first hardware components to go bad (at least at my work). Replacing/Adding a NIC card would also potentialy break the program if consideration is not taken for multiple NICs.
Almost sounds like the OP should do what some games are doing and creating a key based on the hardware of the computer and allowing some tolerance should some hardware get replaced/removed. But that is beyond the scope of Java. And still subject to spoofing.

    The Java Studio Enterprise 8 tool is built on top of Netbeans 4.1 product. You can find a lot of quickstarts and tutorials on the Netbeans site: http://www.netbeans.org/kb/41/
    You can use all information available there to start developing various applications in Java Studio Enterprise.

  • How to specify -preview when launching via AppleScript

    I have an InDesign Server CS5.5.I have a shell script that waits for xml files to be placed into a certain directory on the server. When it sees a file in the folder it launches an applescript that controls InDesign Server. I need to know how to specify the -preview option for the InDesign Server binary so the files generated by the server will have previews when they are opened in InDesign client. The apple scripts look like this:
    tell application "InDesign Server"
         -- do some stuff
    end tell
    Where/how would I specify the -preview option. I see nothing referring to the -preview option in the Library for indesign.

    There's two ways to set it:
    1) in command line when you launch the executable, there's a preview option. I don't remember off hand the exact syntax.
    2) In the script itself (using Javascript syntax -- Applescript would be similar) app.serverSettings.imagePreview = true;

  • Indesign crashes when launching/opening program

    I'm using an older G5 power mac running OS 10.4.11.
    I'm also using Linotype Fontexplorer 123 Build 833.
    My problem is when opening Indesign and Illustrator cs3 or cs2 all four crash (close) immediately.
    Acrobat cs3 and cs2 opens but shortly crashes (closes).
    Photoshop cs2 crashes immediately but curiously cs3 not only opens but works!
    Problem started yesterday and from what I understand no program had been updated. Today I updated programs and problem still exists.
    I've tried everything I know including zapping the pram (option, command, p, r) and problem still exists. I have also tried deleting the Indesign cs2 and cs 3's preference files with no success.
    Adobe support gave me some tips but they have not worked for the main account, which includes some of the suggestion in KB400690. Kinda bummed out support could not help (case# 180335439) normally there suggestions do work. They did suggest to create a new user account and Indesign CS3 did startup, I have not try to see if it works--really want to get main account fixed.
    What else... well when I think of them I'll post them.
    O yea, how does one optimize the hard drive? Do I have to buy an utility to do so?--bummer.
    Thank you,
    Frustrated!
    JaimeZ

    Well, I had my mac tech come today to figure out the problem. After about an hour doing the same procedures I did yesterday in six, he figured out it was a font problem. When we deactivated all the fonts with Fontexplorer all Adobe products opened with no problem.
    Do not know whether font problem is a corrupt font or font ID conflicts.

  • How do switches work when launching a java app

    Hi,
    How do I use a "switch" in the launch command for an app. ie
    java -cp myclassPath -mySwitch hello MyClass arg1 arg2
    I want the app to do something depending on the presence of and the value of the switch "mySwitch". I know I can pass in args and work with these but I want to have control via the use of this optional switch.
    PS when I google for "java switch" or search this forum for it I only get stuff on the switch statement so I don't know if what I'm trying to do is even possible.

    Read the documentation for java command. Especially, look at the -D option.

  • Finder tries to connect to old mac when launching migrated program

    Just got a new macbook pro, and used the migration assistant to move from my old powerbook to the new machine. no problems with that at all.
    Although now, when I launch Firefox, the finder pops up its file sharing dialog box looking for the old volume that Firefox USED to be on. Yesterday FF would run after i hit cancel like 500 times... today firefox never runs at all.
    I trash the .app and the plists. I went to ~/app support/firefox and threw all of that away as well. i've deleted every single trace of firefox that i could possibly find.
    Download new installer, install.... and the same issue as described above. Somehow my macbook associates Firefox with needing the old volume. I trashed the Finder plists also.
    Any suggestions? i just can't figure out what got copied by Migration Assistant to this new machine that would be so hard to find/remove!
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

  • I have LR6 running on a Windows machine.  Several times when launching the program I'm prompted as if I'm running a trial version, and then have to click a button to register and re-enter my license number.  This is getting tedious--what's going on Adobe?

    Please rush getting the first patch of updates out--I'm expecting a finished product, not a "beta" version.  I don't mind beta testing, but not AFTER I've purchased an upgrade!!

    You do not have the properties in the Bookmarks Manager (Library), but you should have it if you right-click a bookmark the Bookmarks Toolbar or in the bookmarks sidebar.
    On Mac you probably do not have it if you right-click an item in the Bookmarks menu (this menu is under control of the Mac OS), but I assume that this should work if you click the "Show your bookmarks" button on the Navigation Toolbar that is next to the star to bookmark the current tab and right-click an item in the bookmarks list that opens.

    You will need to uninstall, run the Cleaner tool and reinstall you adobe applications. Adobe apps don't take kindly to inplace updates of the OS on Macs.

  • How to create a Menu for PeopleSoft HRMS application program ?

    Folks,
    Hello. I am developing PeopleSoft HRMS application program for a client. I have created 10 components. But I don't understand how to create a Menu on the left handside for users to access the components. The Menu's structure is as follows:
    Folder Root containing Folder1, Folder2.
    Folder1 containing Folder1a, Folder1b.
    Folder2 containing Folder2a, Folder2b.
    Folder1a containing Component1, Component2.
    Folder1b containing Component3, Component4.
    Folder2a containing Component5, Component6, Component7.
    Folder2b containing Component8, Component9, Component10.
    The Folder Root should appear in the Menu on the left handside. A user can reach Compoent1 by clicking
    Folder Root -> Folder1->Folder1a ->Component1.
    Can any folks tell me how to create such a hiearachical Menu ? Thanks.

    Folks,
    Hello. Thanks a lot for replying to me. By using PeopleTools->Portal->Structure and Content Reference, I have created the hierachical folder groups:
    FolderRoot containing Folder1 and Folder2
    Folder1 -> Folder1a -> the link to a Component
    Folder1 -> Folder1b -> the link to a Component
    Folder2 -> Folder2a -> the link to a Component
    The above hierachical folder groups have appeared on the left handside under "Menu" and work correctly.
    But when click on "FolderRoot", "Folder1" and "Folder2" don't appear under "FolderRoot" on the right handside of the screen. When click on "Folder1", "Folder1a" and "Folder1b" don't appear under "Folder1" on the right handside of the screen.
    I have checked PeopleTools ->Portal -> Structure and Content Reference's folder administration, there are no places to type in information to have children folders appear under its parent folder on the right handside of the screen.
    My question is :
    How to make children folders appear under its parent folder on the right handside of the screen ?

  • Getting application path when launching a Jar

    Hi,
    very simple
    how do you get the application path when launching a jar file?
    NNiol

    Unless you mean the standard application folder. That application path is an OS specific concept. On Windows systems, for example, you can get the application path by using System.getenv("ProgramFiles"); but that won't work on other systems.
    If you're looking for a constant location to store data files, you'd do better to create an application-specific directory under System.getProperty("user.home");.
    And if you're just looking for the place where your jar file is, you can successfully follow the previously given advice.
