How to see MIC number in Result Recording Screen
Hi,
During result recording (thru QE51N/ QA32 ) in result recording screen we see MIC short text but not the MIC number.
How to get the MIC number during result recording screen?
Already we have used Info Field for this & get the MIC number Directly in result recording screen but User like to go for other option.
Thanks in advance.
I think you wont get MIC no instandard SAP

How to Incorporate formula in QE51 (result recording screen for insp char)?
Hi,
Kindly help me in incorporating a formula field in QE51 screen where we record results for inspection characteristics. I need to add a formula in a field which should be a qualitative characteristics which should make calculations of few quantitative fields
EX:
Field 1 = xxx
Field 2 = yyy
Field 3 = zzz
Field 4 = Field 1 - field 2 - field 3
If the Field 4 has someother value other than zero upon saving the result it should throw some error.
How can i add this formula in the system.. can anyone help me?
Thanks in Advance

Formula Evaluation
Use
You can have the measured values of a characteristic (calculated characteristic) automatically calculated from the input and results of other characteristics (calculation input characteristics). The formula is automatically evaluated when the characteristic is valuated. You can trigger the formula evaluation before the characteristic valuation.
You can determine the weight of a glass bottle, by determining the weight of the empty bottle and the volume of water needed to fill it. Both these measurements are represented as calculation input characteristics; the total weight is then the calculated characteristic.
Prerequisites
For formula calculation, the following prerequisites must be fulfilled:
You have defined the formula that is used in the inspection characteristic for the task list.
You can use standard mathematical functions in this formula, as well as the following operands:
o Numerical constants
o The specifications and results of other characteristics in the same operation
o External function modules
For inspection lots with an assigned serial number profile or units to be inspected with external numbering, the following applies:
To evaluate the formula for original values, you must ensure that a reference is made to the same serial number for the calculation input characteristics. The "Serial number - original value" assignment is the decisive factor for the first (leading) calculation input characteristic. If a serial number is not available for the first calculation input characteristic in another calculation input characteristic, you cannot evaluate the formula.
Activities
To calculate the formula from the valuation, choose:
Evaluate formula on the characteristic overview screen
Extras  Formula  Evaluate formula on the characteristic single screen
If values from other characteristics are used in the formula, these calculation input characteristics must have already been valuated before the formula can be calculated.
To display the formula, choose Extras  Formula  Display formula on the characteristic overview screen or the characteristic single screen.
The formula printout is then displayed in a window. -
Displaying operation long text in results recording screen
Hi, all!
I am trying to understand why I cannot display the operation long text when in results recording screen (either QE51N or QE01 transaction will not support displaying of operation long text).
I have checked all areas that I could think of in config to see if there is a display setting that will require to be activated and I could not find anything under Results recording, Inspection planning or General settings. I also tried to see if user settings may be making a difference and it did not. The SAP Help portal when talking of long texts available in results recording lists the following: Long texts for inspection lot, inspection method and inspection charcateristic. Nothing about operation long text.
However, the text is printed on the inspection instruction standard form.
SAP Notes has nothing on the subject that I could find.
So, as a last resort, I would like to ask if any other Quality Management specialist came across this and spent any time in determining if this can be done and why the information would not be displayed standard in the transactions. My client would prefer not to have to print the instructions in order to see the entire text. However, I do not see any standard way to have it displayed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance!Hi Senthil,
Don't know it will help or not. But if your MIC is qualitative then you can use the long text of catalog code in QS42.
Please refer below screen,

Accept tab not activated for characteristics in result recording screen
Hi,
'Accept and Reject tab' is active only for few characteristics in result recording screen.After entering all the inspection data's system is manually valuating each MIC.
Pls. help me on how to activate the 'Accept and Reject tab' in results recording.

ShriniDear Gajesh,
Thanks for your prompt reply.
I have created a SAMPLING PROCEDURE --> QUAL-DMS.
IN ASSIGNMENTS,
Sampling type --> 300 -- USE SAMPLING SCHEME
Valuation mode --> 1000 - ATTRIBUTIVE INSPECTION NON CONFIRMING UNITS
(I have selected the system defined Sampling Scheme-> 252 ISO 2859-1 / Level II / multiple)
Sampling scheme --> 252 ISO 2859-1 / Level II / multiple( SYSTEM DEFINED)
Determination rule 30 Use sampling scheme
Sampling scheme 252 ISO 2859-1 / Level II / multiple
Inspection severity --> 4 - Normal inspection
AQL value --> 15.000
THIS TABLE CONTAINS C1,D1;C2,D2;etc --> System Defined.
AS I have selected 252 - ISO 2859 -1/ Level II / multiple,
all values of the above sampling scheme must be copied.
It has calculated the sample size 40 for the sample lot 280 correctly
--> sample size is 8
5 samples are to be considered
5 x 8 = 40 samples --> System calculated the 40 samples correctly
SAMPLE LOT --> 280
SAMPLE SIZE --> 8
FIRST SAMPLE C1 --> 0 AND D1 --> 5;
SECOND SAMPLE C2 --> 3 AND D2 --> 8
THIRD SAMPLE C3--> 6 AND D3 --> 10
FOURTH SAMPLE C4 --> 9 AND D4 --> 12
FIFTH SAMPLE --> C5 12 AND D4 --> 13
I have not defined. I have selected the --> SAMPLING SCHEME 252,
I feel that all its value have to be copied.
Am I correct?
Please advice.

Hiding specification in Result recording Screen
Is it possible to hide specifications of characteristics in Result Recording screen. this is to prevent end user manipulating observed values as he shouyld not see tolerances. he only should see characteristics description and enter values. But master data will be avilable with specifications. This restriction should be there for particular roles only. all others should have normal screen during alla ctivity.
Thanks.
JaisonHello Jaison,
Please try using the Table setting which is available in the result recording screen. You can create a variant and make the specification field as invisible. Please take the help of ABAP and Basis and explore the possibility for the same.

Populating result recording screen qe11
dear all,
i have got chemical results in the qamr table from one process.Now i have to feed mechanical values in the result recording screen(i.ie. QE11). My requirement is that after going to result recording screen from QA32-->results(qe11) ....my chemistry results should be showing on this screen . Earlier in my inspection plan we have only mechanical characteristics was showing here. User feeds the mech. values by checking chemistry values through another report. Now i want to add chemistry characteristics here also and the user will see what are the chemistry results before entering mech values....You are attempting to mix results here which you can't do.
You apparently have the chemistry results recorded as single results but you want to use inspection points for recording the mechanical results. No can do.
You could use two inspection types for this. Ideally you'd do the mechanical tests first in an 03 inspection lot. Then do the Chemistry results in an 04 inspection. The 04 lot could also use the results copy functionality to copy over the mechanical result from the 03 lot if you wanted all the resutls in a final inspection lot.
If you have to do the chemistry results first and then the mechanial, you can't use the above process. In this case, I think you'll have to have two different inspection lots.

Addition of user defined fields in Results Recording screen (QE01)
HI All,
We've a business requirement to add user defined fields in results recording screen (Character Overview screen - QE01), so that the user will enter data in user defined fields during results recording. and the data entered in user defined fields should be saved in data base table along with actual results given by the user in order to retrieve data for reporting purpose.
Please suggest valuable solutions to acheive the requirement.
Thanks & regards,
rajeshHi Sujit,
Thanks for your reply,
We've tried using the " QEEM0029 User-Exit for Characteristic Overview Subscreen , however with "QEEM0029" exit, we are only able to add fields to the characteristics overview screen and there is no provision in this exit to save the data entered in the user fields to a table (QALS,QAMR, QASE).
Please suggest!

Operation Number in Result Recording
Dear QM Masters,
We are preparing BDC for result recording through QE11 as inspection lot will be with inspection points. Task list for specification will have same MIC assigned to two operation/phase i.e. phase 40 and phase 60. But as we have to record result for same characteristics twice at seperate work-center with seperate operation/phase number, which field we can take as primary key for operation identification as in QAMV table we dont have operation/phase fied. Can we use VORGLFNR field named as NODE of QAMV and if yes then what can be the logic?
Please help to find the solution as our developement is stopped because of this issue.
Any guidence will be great help and will be rewarded.
Thanks and regards,
DevangHi,
Step by step how to find the operation nos and characteristics nos.
1) From QALS table get the order number (AUFNR) for the field inspection lot no.(PRUEFLOS)
2) Go to table AFKO and give the input AUFNR (order no) which is got from QALS table. Find the field AUFPL from that AUFNR value from AFKO table.
3) Go to table AFVC and give the input AUFPL. You will get the AFVC-APLZL which is unique for each operation nos that is AFVC-VORNR. Now you have the APLZL from AFVC table.
4) Go to table QAMV and give the input inspection lot no (PRUEFLOS) and APLZL value in the field QAMV-VORGLFNR. Meaning AFVC-APLZL=QAMV-VORGLFNR. Fetch the characteristics nos that is QAMV-MERKNR.
I hope this will solve your problem.

Nepomuksearch - How to limit the number or results
Hello,
I use nepomuksearch for several versions of kde now.
Until now, we could limit the number of results in systemsettings.
Since switching to kde 4.10, it is no longer possible: this parameter does not exist in the systemsettings. We can not further limit the number of results.
Is there a way to limit the number of results in nepomuksearch, and if so, how?
Thank you very much for your help.Hi,
If not set explicitly, the default value for WILDCARD_MAXTERMS is 5000. This is set as a wordlist preference. This means that if your wildcard query matches more than 5000 terms the message is returned. Exceeding that would give the user a lot to sift through.
My suggestion: trap the error and return a meaningful message to the user indicating that the search needs to be refined. Although it is possible to increase the number of terms before hitting maxterms (increase wildcard_maxterms preference value for your wordlist), 5000 records is generally too much for a user to deal with anyway. The search is not a good one since it is not restricting rows adequately. If it happens frequently, get the query log and see the terms that are being searched that generate this message. It may be necessary to add one or more words to a stoplist if they are too generic.
Example: The word mortgage might be a great search term for a local business directory. It might be a terrible search term for a national directory of mortgage lenders though (since 99% of them have the term in their name). In the case of the national directory, that term would be a candidate for inclusion in the stoplist.
Also remember that full terms do not need a wildcard. Search for "car %" is not necessary and will give you the error you mentioned. A search for "car" will yield the results you need even if it is only part of a bigger sentence because everything is based on the token. You may already know all of this, but without an example query I figured I'd mention it to be sure.
As for limiting the results - the best way to do that is to allow the user to limit the results through their query. This will ensure accurate and more meaningful results for them.

How to get total number of result count for particular key on cluster
Hi-
My application requirement is client side require only limited number of data for 'Search Key' form total records found in cluster. Also i need 'total number of result count' for that key present on the custer.
To get subset of record i'm using IndexAwarefilter and returning only limited set each individual node. though i get total number of records present on the individual node, it is not possible to return this count to client form IndexAwarefilter (filter return only Binary set).
Is there anyway i can get this number (total result size) on client side without returning whole chunk of data?
Thanks in advance.
Prashantuser11100190 wrote:
Hi,
Thanks for suggesting a soultion, it works well.
But apart from the count (cardinality), the client also expects the actual results. In this case, it seems that the filter will be executed twice (once for counting, then once again for generating actual resultset)
Actually, we need to perform the paging. In order to achieve paging in efficient manner we need that filter returns only the PAGESIZE records and it also returns the total 'count' that meets the criteria.
If you want to do paging, you can use the LimitFilter class.
If you want to have paging AND total number of results, then at the moment you have to use two passes if you want to use out-of-the-box features because LimitFilter does not return the total number of results (which by the way may change between two page retrieval).
What we currently do is, the filter puts the total count in a static variable and but returns only the first N records. The aggregator then clubs these info into a single list and returns to the client. (The List returned by aggregator contains a special entry representing the count).
This is not really a good idea because if you have more than one user doing this operation then you will have problems storing more than one values in a single static variable and you used a cache service with a thread-pool (thread-count set to larger than one).
We assume that the aggregator will execute immediately after the filter on the same node, this way aggregator will always read the count set by the filter.
You can't assume this if you have multiple client threads doing the same kind of filtering operation and you have a thread-pool configured for the cache service.
Please tell us if our approach will always work, and whether it will be efficient as compared to using Count class which requires executing filter twice.
No it won't if you used a thread-pool. Also, it might happen that Coherence will execute the filtering and the aggregation from the same client thread multiple times on the same node if some partitions were newly moved to the node which already executed the filtering+aggregation once. I don't know anything which would even prevent this being executed on a separate thread concurrently.
The following solution may be working, but I can't fully recommend it as it may leak memory depending on how exactly the filtering and aggregation is implemented (if it is possible that a filtering pass is done but the corresponding aggregation is not executed on the node because of some partitions moved away).
At sending the cache.aggregate(Filter, EntryAggregator) call you should specify a unique key for each such filtering operation to both the filter and the aggregator.
On the storage node you should have a static HashMap.
The filter should do the following two steps while being synchronized on the HashMap.
1. Ensure that a ConcurrentLinkedQueue object exists in a HashMap keyed by that unique key, and
2. Enqueue the total number count you want to pass to the aggregator into that queue.
The parallel aggregator should do the following two steps while being synchronized on the HashMap.
1. Dequeue a single element from the queue, and return it as a partial total count.
2. If the queue is now empty, then remove it from the HashMap.
The parallel aggregator should return the popped number as a partial total count as part of the partial result.
The client side of the parallel aware aggregator should sum the total counts in the partial result.
Since the enqueueing and dequeueing may be interleaved from multiple threads, it may be possible that the partial total count returned in a result does not correspond to the data in the partial result, so you should not base anything on that assumption.
Once again, that approach may leak memory based on how Coherence is internally implemented, so I can't recommend this approach but it may work.
Another thought is that since returning entire cached values from an aggregation is more expensive than filtering (you have to deserialize and reserialize objects), you may still be better off by running a separate count and filter pass from the client, since for that you may not need to deserialize entries at all, so the cost on the server may be lower.

How to get IDoc number using sdata records
Hi Experts,
I have executed a report program in background. Its generating few IDoc's. I can view those idoc's in WE05 also. But now i want to display those idoc number in the result output of the report. One of the segment having materrial number and plant details in the IDoc. Using this details i want to display the IDoc number in the output screen. Even i have tried with EDID4 table its taking huge time to get a single IDoc. Is there is any simplest way is there to get those idoc's .
Otherwise how to achive this?
Thanks and Regards,
MohanaHi,
1.)If you want the ouput in the same report program which triggers the idoc, it is better to use the control record information.
You will get IDoc Number from XEDIDC(check the below code) and you can store the idoc number into an internal table if more idoc is expecting to be triggered.
call function 'MASTER_IDOC_DISTRIBUTE'
exporting
MASTER_IDOC_CONTROL = EDIDC
tables
COMMUNICATION_IDOC_CONTROL = XEDIDC
MASTER_IDOC_DATA = XEDIDD
exceptions
others = 5.
read table xedidc index 1.
append xedidc-docno to it_docno.
And finallly use this to display in the output.
2.) if u want it in a seperate report, then select based on date, idoctype, messagetype

Serial Number wise Result Recording
Hi QM Gurus,
My Client requirement is he wants inspect the goods serial number wise.
Example: Product P0001 production entry 100nos with serial number like s001, s002, s003, s004, u2026u2026u2026u2026 s100.
But same thing Quality people has to record the result serial number wise.
How to map in SAP, Kindly help me.
Thanks in Advance.
Babusingh.SHi,
Results recording for units to be inspected (with serial number profile)
When you record inspection results for a unit to be inspected, for which the maintenance of serial numbers is specified in the material master, you must use the predefined serial numbers.
To record results for units to be inspected with a serial number requirement, the following conditions must be met:
The material was assigned a serial number profile and the serializing procedure was defined for maintaining inspection lots.
You have set the indicator for single unit inspection in the QM inspection setup of the material master.

How to limit the number of seleted records?
Hi,
I have a performance issue in the context of SQL .
I used JDBC to excute a select statement. The number of found records might be too large (e.g. 10000). To display them, I set a marge (e.g. 50 ) It is fine for display purpose.
However, the execution of select statement took long time although I only needed 50 of them.
Is it possible to make the execution of SQL select statement only work until it found 50 records?
it seems that i dreamed. But maybe there is a walk around.
Regards,
PYYou could also try calling the Statement (or
PreparedStatement etc.)'s setMaxRows() method.when using Oracle, does it use the "ROWNUM < maxRows" to limit the number of entries or does it actually retrieve all the data from the database and only then limit the result to the requested amount?
