How to see the portal runtime errors and exception

Hi friends,
I am new to the EP. Can you plz let me know how to see the logs of the error occurs during the runtime.
I have got the following error "Error occurs during the rendering of jsp component"
But I am not able to see the logs.
can you plz tell me the exact path to see the error logs

Yoiu can check the portal Logs and traces in link as the bellow.
http://your_url:portno/nwa
The JSP logs you can trace there.
Just follow the following path after loged in to NWA.
Monitoring -> Logs and Traces ->
Then in the dropdown menu select the Default Trace

Hi Arindam,
Pls check Default Trace log in the NWA tool, path would be NWA --> Monitoring --> Logs and Traces --> Select Default Trace.
Find the log messages with the Exception ID found on your Portal Runtime error. These logs would specify the exact cause of error.

Portal Runtime Error : An exception occurred while processing a request

After upgradation of my portal to the following patch level, SAP J2EE 6.20:
Portal Version : EP 6 SP 2 patch 29 hotfix 0
Content Mgmt and Collaboration version : 6 SP2 patch 5
i faced many performance related issues. Portal seems to be very slow. After logging in, most of the time I get 2 errors:
Either
1> Iview remains blank.
Or
2> Portal Runtime Error : An exception occurred while processing a request. Portal Runtime exception occured. Please check the System Log.
But when I refresh that particular iview, it works fine.
I went through the portal.log file (/usr/sap/PEP6/j2ee/j2ee_00/cluster/server/managers/log/portal/logs). I had check it. It was correct. But the thing when I saw in the component Inspector of portal, my iview did not appear.
I created like this
 project-> rightclick-> export-> par ->selecting project-> givint protal password-> and finish.
The NW didn't give any error, but the par file didn't appear in the portal componet Inspect.
but the par file is created in the NW studio Navigation bar.
Let me know any help regarding this

If you would like to handle and navigate based on the exception type, this code would help you. btw I'm not familiar with portlet though.

How to see the enitre ITAB contents and down load them while debugging ?

One of my ITAb will be populated with 2000 records . Is there any option in Debugging editor to download and see all the fields and all the records at a time instead of 5 records with few fields. We are working in ECC 6.0 .

Hi
You can click on 'Excel icon' while debugging, to download the contents of the internal table.
Also, you can click on the '+' icon to increase the internal table view, so that more entries are displayed.But, you need to use navigate buttons to scroll between columns.

I'm having difficulty getting our MDM repository (Employee). I keep getting a portal exception when trying to view the repository using iView.
I am able to connect to MDM Customers. I call Result Set of customers using an iView. I tried doing same for Employees, but it is not working and throwing an exception.

Portal Runtime Error When Previewing the BI Report iViews

Hi Experts,
I hope this is the right place for my issue. I have an issue previewing the BI reports that I have created as the iViews and have put them in the portal. I am able to preview them in the BW/BI server successfully. Then I have created them in another server and got the portal runtime error. There are 2 different servers that I am working on, and there is no single sign on support on these servers.

I check the permission, and everything has been set up as the BW/BI server (Built-in Group Everyone). I still got the portal runtime error. There is another folder of BI report iViews that someone else has created before. When I preview it, it prompts me with the NetWeaver Log in page. Then it opens the BI report iView properly. Unfortunately, it will not prompt the log in page on my own BI report iViews that I have created. Instead, it shows the portal runtime error page. Any ideas how can I solve this?

We r in the phase of setting the configuration of Portal. We did the the template installer but when iam checking the transactions in Portal ( System Administration--> Support--->SAP Apllication) , it is throwing me the following error.

Under "Personalize > User Profile" the checkbox "Activate Accessibility Feature" must be unchecked!
as, people earlier also faced this issue and SAP provided this solution.
Also an alternative solution for this is like --
Go to:
<Drive>\usr\sap\<SID>\JC<Instance No.>\j2ee\cluster\server<Server No.>\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\portal\portalapps\com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap\property\Transaction
and see the content of the 'WebGuiSSOLayer.properties' file.
One of the entries is ''ClassName'. The value on a 'valid' portal is: com.sapportals.portal.sapapplication.itsdetection.ITSDetectionLayer
If it's not the case, then go to:
<Drive>\usr\sap\<SID>\JC<Instance No.>\j2ee\cluster\server<Server No.>\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\pcd
rename the file 'com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.par.bak' to 'com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.par' open the par file and edit the file ''WebGuiSSOLayer.properties' (add the relevant entry for ClassName).
Save the file (still with the par extension)
Restart the portal (if everything is OK then the bak extension will be added to the filename).
Just try this, hope it works.

You need to locate the defaulttrace. Check out this help file:

2 ways for accessing log:
1) browse portal filesystem : \usr\sap\J2E\JC00\j2ee\cluster\<server instance>\log\
2) use sap log applications
I suggest you to use logviewer or visual admin(it contains logviewer) applications. It will display formated logfile and you will be able to filter on severity / User Name / date / .......
if you are using visual admin, just connect with Visual Admin then browse to <server name> / services / log viewer then again <server name> \usr\sap\J2E\JC00
j2ee\cluster\server0\log and then click on defaultTrace.trc
it is pretty the same navigation when using logviewer

Gettin a portal runtime error when adding iviews in web page composer
