How to select a value based on message choice

Hi,
I want to display a value into screen based on message choice selection.
Message choice contains absence type infomation and it will return absence type id .
I have created a view object (XxpmAbsenceCategoryVO , in this view only one column category_name) for selecting category name from the database using message choice selected value.

How to Select a value from DropDownByIndex -Urgent

I have dropdownbyindex UI elements in my Views, I get values from BAPI. When click records in a table, It goes to another view to display full record. Here i have dropdownbyIndexes So it should select one of appropriate value in dropdownbyindex based on record(Value) in table.
Example:
In Table View

Detail View:

Hi Ravi,
In details view, you will have corresponding context node created for Status and priority dropdown fields.
Let suppose, context node for Status is, StatusNode.
value attribute inside this is,
StatusNode

Now, you need to write following code to set l_status ="LOW" value in it.

Yes, to simplify, I left out some of the additional XML data, which is typically present, sorry for any confusion. I should have removed those references to that data in my example which was failing to retrieve the NCESCode data which was denoted by that namespace.
Thank you very much! Your correction worked. I was not understanding until your correction how to properly reference in the XPATH for that namespace value. I'm a newbie at this, and this is my second post. But I've been able to populate quite a few relational tables and that was the first of several namespace tags I will have to deal with next, and with that help, I should be good with that syntax now.

When i drag & drop the component i am unable to drop it as a multi select list box that option is not coming.

I have used all the steps as you mentioned in your previous reply....including checking Mulitple Selection Check Box..
Iam able to get the results when I am selecting one value..
and also I am able to handle multiple values the in the query by using IN :Parameter, but seems when we select more than one value from the parameter drop down i think the Bi Publisher is sending the values in concatenated form something ilke
ex: "'ACCOUNT','HR','SALES'" ,and when trying to display the parameters values in the output, its throwing the error as 'missing right paranthesis' ....on the whole do you have any solution which would handle
1.Single selection.
2.Multiple selection.
3.'ALL' Values.
4.Separating the concatenated string into individual strings and dispaly them on the output of the report..etc..in case of Mulitple selection.
Ex:
Concatenated String from BI Publisher:"'ACCOUNT','HR','SALES'"
Expected Output on the report:ACCOUNT,HR,SALES

How to select multiple values from the Parameters defined in the concurrent program...and i believe multiple selection is not a direct feature of EBS, but is there any workaround solution to acheive mulitple selection?

I think there's no way to do that using standard feature.
Some workaround I use :
1. If the number of selections are fixed, you could use multiple parameters for the same valueset. For example :
Selection1 : <choose first selection>
Selection2: <choose 2nd selection>
..etc.
If you don't use it then leave it empty.
2. Use text varchar valueset and enter it manually and separate by comma (or other value) , eg : selection1,selection2,selection3....etc.

How to get ATINN value based on material number and Class Type ?

I have below SELECT stmt code which gives the correct value of atwrt based on materil no and ATINN.
However in quality system, it is failing because in quality system "atinn" value is not 0000000381. It is different.
So how can I get ATINN(Internal characteristic) value based on material number and Class Type?

How to select several values from a user exit variable in a planning folder

Hello,
I have created a user exit variable for limiting the values only to which the user need to access.
For a simulation part, it is then necessary for him to select several values from these values (not only one, and not all)
But It seems in this case the user has only two possibilities :
- keep all the values without any restriction
- restrain the selection to only one value.
It seems possible for the user to access to a multiple choice window, but this possibility doesn't seems to work : in all tests we did, only the first value was taken into account by BPS.
If this method is not good do you know an other manner to permit the user to choice several values amongst a set of pre-selected (because the original set is too important) values ?

Thanks for your response, but I don't think it corresponds to my problem.
I my case, I use a user exit variable to filter some data. It seems BPS offers the possibility to the user to select several values amongts the pre-selected values presented by the user exit variable, but it doesn't work. We can use a popup in which we enters the required values, but in final, only the first value is taken into account.
I don't know if it is due to a BPS bug or if it is not a good solution in regard to BPS philosophy. In this case, the concerned caracteristic isn't in the header but in lead columns.
I must present a solution to my client next monday, so I have not enough time to open an OSS message.
An alternate solution should be interesting too.
My need is to present to a user a selection of values amongst all values from an infoobject (the user exit variable seemed to be a good solution) and the user must have the possibility to select some values amongst these as filter.

As you can see, some row has <attr name="Order Online"> and some don't. I want to extract value of this attribute. It can be null for rows that don't have this attribute. How can I do it with extractvalue function? THANKS A LOT!

1) you can try setting default value of P1_SELECT_PRODUCT item, I was do it
2) or you can try send the value of P1_SELECT_PRODUCT value in URL, like this:

3) or you can set the session state of P1_SELECT_PRODUCT item on page 101 (login page) by seting this value in Login process on page 101

How to select a value of a max value of another column in the same row?

How to select pversion for a maximum pcount, in this case max count is 25 and version will be 0?

How to populate the values based on different selections in Dashboard Promp

Hi,
I have a group prompt, which has 2 drop downs. The DropDown1 decides the values of DropDown2.
I have used a SQL query in the "Show" values which will populate the dropdowns.
When a value is 'selected" from DropDown1, the selected value decided the values of DropDown2 which is again a SQL query.
But I see that when a new value is selected from DropDown1, the values in DropDown2 will not change until I click on GO.Even after clicking GO, the previously selcted value is retained.
As an illustration:
animals,plants are the choices in the first drop down, which if, animal is selected would populate the dropdown2 with cow,sheep, tiger.
Assume animal is selected. The second drop down now is populated with cow,sheep and tiger. Assume you chose sheep.This resulted in display of sheep related info on the BI page.
Now if I go back to the first dropdown and select plants, I would expect the second drop down to be populated with fig, palm, coconut.
However in my case I see only the proviously popluated animals in the DropDown2.
If I click on Go, I see that the DropDown2 is populated with Sheep,,fig, palm, coconut. Ideally I should not have seen the prevously selected value in DropDown2.
Here there are 2 problems stated for a group promt having 2 DropDowns where item chosen from one decides the values of the other dropdown
1. On selecting an item from DropDown1, is not populating with the corresponding values in DropDown2
2. When 'Go' is clicked, DropDown2 is populated with the corresponding values for DropDown1 + the previously selected value in DropDown2 is retained.
Any input to get out of this problem will help

I am using group prompt and has 4 drop downs.
Value of one decides the other. Values for the dropdowns will be populated by SQL results.
'Constrain' will not be available for sql results..
How to go about this?

How to set radiobutton values based on some input values?

LCD 8.0
I have a table with 5 rows - each row has a checkbox in it.
The user can select 0 - 5 checkboxes. Based on the number of selected checkboxes, I need to dynamically 'press' a radiobutton (out of 5) to show the corresponding Risk level - If 2 checkboxes are checked, I need to press radiobutton #2, if 3 checkboxes the 3rd radiobutton, etc..
I can get the 1st one to work, but can't seem to be able to change it to any other radiobutton after the first.
What I do is sum the # of checkboxes checked, and try to set the raw.Value of the radiobutton = 1.

If I select 1 Checkbox, the first radiobutton IS pressed, however, when I select a 2nd checkbox, the 2nd radiobutton is NOT pressed and also blanks out the 1st radiobutton.

However, I'm not trying to change radiobuttons in Row2 - I'm trying to change a set of 6 radiobuttons in my Row1.Cell3
I will always and only have two rows in my table. This first row is named
PDF_CONTAINER.IdeaSheetPage2.RiskAssesSubform.RiskTable.
b RISK_*****1
and the second row is named
PDF_CONTAINER.IdeaSheetPage2.RiskAssesSubform.RiskTable.
b RISK_*****2
In Cell3 of each of those rows, I have a Radiobutton group with 6 radiobuttons (named NoRisk, MinorRisk, SmallRisk, ModerateRisk, VeryRisky, CriticalRisk).
What I'm trying to do is "press" one of those radiobuttons based on some other variable's value.
Here's a sample bit of code that checks if my variable = 3, then "press" the 3rd radiobutton

But, I'm not getting a radiobutton pressed.
EDIT: by the way, i'm sure my summed value is coming back because I placed it in a message box & see the correct number.
