How to set applet  parameter in java code?

Hi All,
Instead of setting applet parameters in JSP page, Now I have a need to set
applet parameters in java code. But I can't find a method that allow me to do this. There
is only getParameter but seems no setParameter method.
Any help is appreaciated.
Thanks,
Chris

Take a look at set_custom_property:
public static final ID SETTEXT = ID.registerProperty("SETTEXT");
public boolean setProperty(ID pid, Object value)
    if (pid == SETTEXT)
String text = value.toString();
and in forms
set_custom_property('beans.bean_item', 1, 'SETTEXT', 'some text');
cheers

  • How to dynamically configure JPA setting at runtime using java code?

    Hi,
    I am new to EJB 3.0 and JPA. I am trying to help my company to deploy the use of JPA in EJB3.0. Currently, i am trying out with OpenJPA in IBM Webshpere Application Server 7.0. We have four different WAS servers running for testing, system integration testing, user testing and production respectively, and in each region, the configurations for data source, JDBC username and password, schema, etc are different. So i think i would need to configure the JPA setting during runtime using Java code that determines which is the environment. And apparently i am stuck with the limited knowledge i have.
    1) I understand that i could override the JDBC in the persistence xml by creating entity manager using entity manager factory. But is it possible that i do similar thing by using inejction of persistence context on entity manager to obtain a container managed entity manager?
    2) Alternatively, it is possible to create multiple persistence unit in the XML and inject different PU to the entity manager, am i right? But how to inject dynamically since @PersistenceContext(unitName="xxx") only accepts constant declaration.
    3) Is it possible that the JDBC username and password are read from properties file?
    Thanks for your help in advance!

    Hi
    Thanks for the reply.
    Are you saying that i have to configure the data source authentication to the backend DB2 using the JAAS-J2C? Correct me if i am mistaken. I guess i am unable to do so as the application server setup only contains one data source, and the server hosted a number of applications. Every applications has their own JDBC username and password supply to the data source (the ID supplied at the DB2 side will decide which resource can access) and thus, i have to supply the username and password at runtime. Talked to the server guy and seems that it is not feasible to have seperate datasource for each applications as considered to the volume of applications hosted inside the server.
    Any suggestion?

  • How to set iframe src from java dynammically

    Hi,
    Iam calling a servlet from jsp and servlet calls the databse query and returns the value,
    in my jsp i have ifrme, i want to change the source of iframe from java depends on the result from database , and the result must display on the iframe can any one tell me how to do this

    aurelian_cl wrote:
    I need to know how to set environment variables from java
    I want to set from java for example the environment variable "TestVar" with the value "TestValue"!1) That functionality does not belong in an application. You're trying to set environment variables, which are global across all applications, at either the user level as a whole, or across the entire machine (system level). Or, if you're only trying to set a variable active for the current process, you don't need to do that.
    2) Environment variables are not a platform-independent entity, and are thus against the nature of Java.
    My gut feel is that you are designing something in a backwards way, so my point is mainly to point that out, not to try to help you solve that particular problem.

    Please ask a specific and comprehensible question. Consider describing with less vagueness the actual current problem that you are encountering.

  • How to set EXPORT parameter from message mapping

    Again, ask the question of export parameter.
    I wrote a java version transformation and it worked good with export parameter.
    However I can not work it out in graphical message mapping. I refered http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/43/c3e1fa6c31599ee10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm.
    In PI7.1, I add an export parameter "EXPORT_PARA" in the "Signature" tab. Are there any special step to assign this parameter to an UDF? I did not find a way to do it.
    And then I define an UDF,
    public String SetExportPara(String sss, Container container) throws StreamTransformationException{
    String str = "GOOD";
    GlobalContainer gc = container.getGlobalContainer();
    OutputParameters paras= gc.getOutputParameters();
    if(paras.exists("EXPORT_PARA ") == true) {
    paras.setString("EXPORT_PARA ", str);
    }else {
    str = "NOT FOUND EXPORT_PARA";
    return str;
    And I assign this UDF to one element of my output XML, I tried to run it in IE, it always output "NOT FOUND EXPORT_PARA.
    why?????
    I know there is a blog : https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/8654. [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken]
    But it did not talk how to set export parameters.

    Hi,
    i read thread
    How to export parameters from Message Mapping
    and blog
    /people/jin.shin/blog/2008/02/14/sap-pi-71-mapping-enhancements-series-parameterized-message-mappings
    but not found issue
    in this topic
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/43/c3e1fa6c31599ee10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm.
    if i writting this code in UDF, i getting an error.
    If use this code:
    GlobalContainer gc = container.getGlobalContainer();
    OutputParameters paras= gc.getOutputParameters();
    paras.setString("EXPORT_PARA ", str);
    the export parameter is defined locally (in transformation step area). In integration process area parameter is equal to NULL.
    How send export parameter to Integration Process? For exapmple, i wanna send parameter to other transformation step in my integration process.
    thx.

  • How to get the parameter from Java Script into the Parameter crystal Report

    Hi All,
    Crystal Report is integrated with Oracle 10g. I created the base SQL query for col1, col2, col3 and col4. Java Script pass parameter value (185) to Col1.
    My question is how to create crystal report to make Col1 as parameter and how to get the parameter value 185(Col1) from Java Script. Is there any additional code I need to include in the crystal report?
    FYI.
    Java script sends the right parameter value.There is no issue in java script.
    This is an automatic scheduled process when batch runs, Java script should pass the parameter value and the crystal report should get the value and produce the output report.

    Not sure if this is an application question or if you are trying to hook into Crystal Reports parameter UI? If the later then no option other than report design. If an application then I can move this to the Java Forums.
    If you are asking how to alter the parameters I suggest you remove the Java reference and post a new question so it's not confusing the issue.
    Please clarify?

    At run time servlet and server also show that loggging are saved in DB.

  • How to compile connection pool sample java code

    I recently bought David Knox's "Effective Oracle Database 10g Security by Design", and have been working through his examples with client identifiers and how to leverage database security with anonymous connection pools.
    The database side of things I totally understand and have set up, but I now want to compile/run the java code examples, but don't know what is required to compile this.
    I'm running Oracle 10.2.0.4 (64-bit) Enterprise Edition on a Linux (RHEL 5) PC. Java version is 1.6.0_20. Relevant .bash_profile environment variables are as follows:
    export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/lib:/lib:/usr/lib
    export CLASSPATH=$ORACLE_HOME/jre:$ORACLE_HOME/jlib:$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/jlib
    export PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/bin:$ORACLE_HOME/OPatch:/usr/kerberos/bin:/usr/local/bin:/bin:/usr/bin
    When I try to compile, I get:
    oracle:DB10204$ java FastConnect.java
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: FastConnect/java

    Could not find the main class: FastConnect.java. Program will exit.
    The java source code of one of the examples is below. Is someone able to point me in the right direction as to how I get this to compile? Do I just have a syntax and/or environment configuration modification to do, or is there more to it than that to get this example working? Any help much appreciated.

    I will try to explain what is happening here.
    You are launching java telling it to run a class named 'java' in a package named 'FastConnect'
    and java says it cannot find that class.
    What you intended to do:
    $ # make the directory structure match the package structure
    $ mkdir OSBD
    $ # move the source file in the directory structure so it matches the package structure
    $ mv FastConnect.java OSBD/
    $ # compile OSBD/FastConnect.java to OSBD/FastConnect.class
    $ javac OSBD/FastConnect.java
    $ # launch java using the OSBD/FastConnect class
    $ java -cp . OSBD.FastConnectNote that the package 'OSBD' does not follow the recommended naming conventions
    you might consider changing that to 'osbd'.

  • OpenScript/How to add .jar file to Java Code in relative path

    Hi all,
    I want to add a .jar file which can be executed separately (like "java -jar A.jar") to my recorded Java Code.I've read this wiki http://everest2.us.oracle.com/wiki/Generic_JAR_Project about how to add a .jar file to "Assets", however, I cannot figure out how to use the .jarr file in Java code,I mean , how to get this .jar file like the method the databank added in "Assets"?
    Things I did are as followed:
    1.Execute my .jar file in OpenScript Java code with absolute path like this:
    String cmd = "C:\Users\A.jar";
    Runtime.getRuntime().exec(cmd);
    This does work, but must set a absolute path in Java code like "C:\User\A.jar" ,which is not the workaround I want (I need my scripts can be run on other machines).
    2.Try to get its current path with following codes:
    File directory = new File(".");
    String currentPath=directory.getCanonicalPath();
    However,though this can get its absolute path (which is the the project path) in Eclipse like "C:\Users\Workspace\testProject", this only gets "C:\OracleATS\openScript" in OpenScript.
    I thought to copy my .jar file to the project path , got its current path in java code first,then can know the path of .jar file, but this workaround failed because of the above reason.
    I notice that in the "Assets" there are "Databanks","Object Libraries","JAR Files","Scripts". Since the databanks and scripts that added to "Databanks" and "Scripts" can be got or run in Java Code like:
    *getDatabank("DatabankName").getNextDatabankRecord(); String data = eval("{{db.DatabankName.data}}");*
    *or getScript("ScriptName").run();*
    *Is there a method to get and run the jar file added to "Assets\JAR Files" like the above?*
    Thank you very much!
    Regards,
    Angyoung

    Hi DM,
    Thanks for your reply!
    I've found a workaround,which is calling OpenScript's APIs ,such as this.getScriptPackage().getRepository() and this.getScriptPackage().getWorkspace(),etc to locate the .jar file.
    And this workaround can still work even though the script is run on other machine.
    Sorry to reply you so late!

  • How to accept date parameter from java if SP have the datatype as DATE

    Dear Gurus,
    I have written SP as below
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE proc1
    No NUMBER,
    StartDate DATE,
    EndDate DATE
    AS
    BEGIN
    DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE('Start Date ='||to_char(StartDate,'YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS'));
    DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE('Start Date ='||to_char(EndDate,'YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS'));
    END;
    If I want to pass date from java code to above SP. Then how to send Date to SP from Java code.
    Means if I print that date in SP then it should be print as it is what i sent from java.
    e.g. Start Date = 2008-02-01 00:00:00
    End Date = 2008-02-01 23:59:59
    Could any one help me in above issue.
    Regards
    Sanjeev Atvankar

    Yes, because there is no default date format in oracle for date value having time part.
    Suppose your agreed date format between java and pl/sql is DDMMYYYYHH24MISS.
    You create procedure as:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE proc1
    No NUMBER,
    StartDate VARCHAR2,
    EndDate VARCHAR2,
    AS
      v_start_date date := to_date(startdate,'DDMMYYYYHH24MISS');
      v_end_date date := to_date(enddate,'DDMMYYYYHH24MISS');
    BEGIN
    /* YOU can use local pl/sql date variables inside your plsql code*/
    DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE('Start Date ='||to_char(StartDate,'YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS'));
    DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE('Start Date ='||to_char(EndDate,'YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS'));
    END;

  • How to set the parameter selection *optional* for each subreport?

    Hi,
    I am using Crystal Reprots 11.
    I create 10 subreports, and each subreport contains a Parameters Field.
    The 10 subreports are put in 10 footer sections in increasing order, i.e. subreport1, subreport2, subreport3, ..., subreport10.
    When I use "Print Preview" to take a look at the whole report, CR prompts a "Edit Values" window for selecting parameter values for all 10 subreports.
    For example, if I only select parameter values for subreport1 and click "OK", 9 error messages on the "Edit Values" window come out above the selection list box of every other subreports (i.e. subreport2 ~ subreport10) showing that: 'The value is not valid'.
    Sometimes, I just want to review some specific subreports but not all.
    How should I do to set the parameter selection optional (not mandatory) for each subreport?
    Thank you in adavance.

    Hi,
    Here's how you can make the prompts optional (Assuming you're using CR 2008 or higher):
    1) Go into each subreport
    2) You should see the parameter in the Field Explorer. Right-click the name and select Edit > Look for an option called 'Optional Prompt'. Set it to true
    3) If you have a record selection in the subreport, then you need to modify the selection formula to something like this:
    if not(hasvalue({?Parameter_Name})) then True else = {?Parameter_Name}
    Hope this helps!
