How to set Minimum size of JFrame?

Hi,
I want to set minimum size of my JFrame. How can i set it?
I want to maintain a minimum size while resizing the JFrame. The user should not resize beyond the minimum size of JFrame.
Any body knows solution, please post it.
Thanks in Advance.

One posible solution is to add a ComponentListener to the
JFrame that implements ... (struggles to remember) ...
componentResized().
Inside componentResized(), check the size of your JFrame,
and if it is smaller than your preferred minimal dimension,
resize it up to your minimum.
// in the constructor, perhaps, or initialization routine
addComponentListener(
  newComponentAdapter()
    public void componentMoved(ComponentEvent e)
        Dimension size = e.getComponent().getSize();
        size.width = Math.max(size.width, myMinimalWidth);
        size.height = Math.max(size.height, myMinimalHeight);
        e.getComponent.setSize(size);
  }); Pity there's no setMinimumSize() like the JComponent class.
Best of luck !

  • How to set minimum size for the 'location' box in toolbars?

    I reorganized my toolbars by merging the location and tabs bar. I have the location on the left hand side and the tabs *next* to it, like this:
    [ (<)(>) [LOCATION] /tab\/tab\/tab\ ]
    Unfortunately when the number of tabs increases, the location box becomes so small that I cannot even see the url of the site I'm in...
    Is there a way to force a minimum width for the location box? I couldn't find a setting in about:config for it (I imagine that this would be a browser.urlbar setting)

    You rock! The combination of fixed width tabs with the stylish Add-on, and the single line of script below just made my day!
    #main-window[sizemode="maximized"] #TabsToolbar, #TabsToolbar > #urlbar-container { min-width: 350px; }
    Many thanks!

  • How to set custom size of Close Button e.g. 32x32  of Title Window in Flex 4

    How to set custom size of Close Button e.g. 32x32 of Title Window in Flex 4?

    Hi
    Here is the code of the Button in the skin class of spark title window.
    <s:Button id="closeButton" skinClass="spark.skins.spark.TitleWindowCloseButtonSkin"
                              width="15" height="15" right="7" top="7" />
    So first change the default height and width from 15 to 32. Then in the Button Skin class i.e. spark.skins.spark.TitleWindowCloseButtonSkin change paths to modify the cross symbol.
    Hope this helps

  • How to set the size of a JTabbedane to the size of the frame

    I have a tabbed pane in a frame, I would like to know how to set the size of the tabbed pane, so that it occupies the whole of the frame which has been set to screen size.
    Thanks

    Is it not possible to use it with a GridBagLayout?Your question was "How do I get a tabbed pane to take all the space of the frame"?
    You where given the answer. Did you try it? Did it work? Then why are you questioning the suggestion?
    Its one line of code if you use a BorderLayout which by the way was specifically designed for this purpose.
    Yes you can do it with a GridBagLayout with about 5 lines of code.
    So the question is why would you want to write 5 lines of code when you can use one?
    If your question was "How do I waste my time forcing the GridBagLayout to size a component to take up all the space of the frame", then you would have received a different answer. (Although most people would have told you to use a BorderLayout anyway, since its easier).

  • How to set display size of a Region or Dynamic Region?

    Hi,experts,
    In jdev 11.1.2.3,
    I drag and drop a task-flow into a jsf page to create a Region,
    and set display size for the region, source code as:
    ===================
    <f:facet name="second">
    <af:decorativeBox theme="medium" id="db1">
    <f:facet name="center">
    <af:panelGroupLayout layout="scroll" id="pgl1"
    inlineStyle="width:1200px;height:700px;">
    <af:region value="#{bindings.trainflow11.regionModel}" id="r1"
    inlineStyle="width:1200px;height:700px;"/>
    </af:panelGroupLayout>
    </f:facet>
    </af:decorativeBox>
    </f:facet>
    =================
    But, the Region is only showed a small fraction area on the parent jsf page whenever during design or run time.
    How to set display size of a Region or Dynamic Region?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    the decorative box is supposed to stretch components in the center facet, so at runtime the region should stretch. Can you try with a static region to see if this is an issue with dynamic regions?

  • How to modify the blob size, or how to set the size?

    i want to know how to modify the blob size, or how to set the size?
    what's the default size of blob?
    Thanks in advance.

    Blob datatype can contain binary data with a maximum size of 4 GB.
    when you enter 10kb file, the database will only use 10kb to store the file (depending on block size etc)
    if you want to modify the blob size, you may do like this:
    SQL> create materialized view t_mv refresh fast on commit
    2 as select id, dbms_lob.getlength(x) len from t;
    Materialized view created.
    SQL> alter table t_mv add constraint t_mv_chk check (len < 100);

  • How to fix the size of JFrame

    Hi Friends,
    How to fix the size of JFrame so that it can not br able to resize beyond a
    certain limit .
    i want this because i my screen if it is resized as small then the component of screen changes there location and position.
    plz help.

    You can... sort of
    The setSize() method is nasty because you don't get the event until you release the button, so the frame resizes and then snaps back. However, if you put the ComponentListener on the frame's JRootPane, you get a stream of resize events (because the window typically needs to be able to dynamically redraw itself). You can still use the setSize() method, but it is potentially confusing to the user, because the window border gets disconnected from the cursor, and as the mouse is moved further, the frame flickers between its instantaneous new size and max size.
    For a better user experience, use Robot to programmatically reposition the mouse back to the screen location equivalent to the maximum dimension.

  • How to set the size and position of JFrame

    hey all,
    i have a frame and i devide the frame into three panels, i want to make the top panel the lergest and make it square. and the rest two panels in small and in the bottom of the frame.
    could you please help me to set the size and position of the jpanel
    Thanks

    If u want the bottom 2 panels to be on the same level, u can try setting ur content pane to use the BorderLayout and the adding the 3 panels to it with BorderLayout.NORTH(for the TOP panel), BorderLayout.EAST(RIGHT panel) and BorderLayout.WEST(for LEFT panel).
    Don't know if this is what ur looking for, maybe u could describe more on ur layout with a sample image or something?

  • How to set minimum height size for an empty XML Form iview

    Hi,
    I'm trying to configure the minimum height size of an XML Form iview without sucess. Even when there is no content to show, iview height size is around 80 pixels. When there is content the automatic configuration works fine and the iview is resized properly.
    The iview has automatic size and the minimum size for automatic is with 5 pixels...
    Any ideas?
