Hi,
How to setup ias 9i reports, so that they always can run in pdf format when I call it from my forms????
By setting the defsformat to PDF.
For instance, from browser:
http://testservername:port_num/rwservlet?server=testservername&report=testreport.rdf&userid=testusername/testpassword@testdb&desformat=pdf

How to Setup a JSP to Run on Different Physical Location than OC4J Defaul
I am trying to setup a development environment for jsp application development in Oracle 9ias Release 2 for a development group. I followed the steps outlined in NOTe:167960.1 using both EM Website (creating a OC4J and editing server.xml and defau*.xml files) and DCMCTL (Doc ID: 185635.1) utility. OC4J app is coming up only partially which does not work.
Is this possible to "Setup a JSP to Run on Different Physical Location than OC4J Default Home" in Oracle 9ias Release 2 ?

SubuI was finally able to get it up and running... I commented out all the apple specific lines in smb.conf until I was able to successfully finish the driver copy process via the Windows driver wizard. The line in the /etc/smb.conf which was causing this weird problem was:
vfs objects = notify_kqueue,darwinacl,darwin_streams
I have no idea what this line is about. However after commenting it out the driver installation immediately started to work. I cross checked it by adding the line again and viola the problem was back - so it can be broken down to this line...
As I've found some other comments to this line in the internet I guess I will go for the smb.conf changes described in this article:

JSP and servlet is web programming, may be little bit different to development local application.
1st, you should have two computers: one is server and the other is local workstation. This server should have a static IP address, that other people can go into your server. Workstation is any computer normal you use it.
2nd, you need to setup your server in: OS(linux or windows 2000), web server (jrun, apach or Tomcat etc. ), as well as install JDK, servlet.
3rd, your local workstation just use as programming editor and open a browser to testing, anytime you write your code, then ftp to server to test.
Reality, you have many technical thing to solve, eg setup web server etc. However, you can write your source code and test it, then open to outside people.

As i have gone through many forums for this topic, but creating a plugin code for generating Report PDF is not possible in CRM ONLINE.

How to setup a password programmatically to a multiple PDF files

I'm using Acrobat 9 pro and every night I'm generate about 30 PDF reports that need to be encrypted with password before sending them out
(all in one directoty C:\myReport\) how do I do (authomate the process) that? Or just password no encryption.

Advanced > Document Processing > Batch Processing
In the Batch Sequence dialog, click "New Sequence"; give it a name.
In the dialog that appears, click "Select Command".
Scroll down the list of available sequences to locate and select "Security".
Click the "Add" button.
Click the "Edit" button.
The Document Security dialog presents itself.
Select a security method from the drop-down menu.
Go through the Settings dialog(s) to configure the selected security method.
Once this is done and you close out of the dialog you are back to the "Edit Sequence" dialog.
Click OK.
Back in the Edit Batch Sequence - <name of new sequence you made> dialog, click the "Output Options" button.
Review the available configurations to see if you want something other than the default (& to see the default).
When done and back in the Edit Batch Sequence - ... dialog, click OK.
Click the Run Sequence button, then click OK to browse to the folder containing PDFs to process.
Select the PDFs and click the "Select" button.
The Batch Sequence runs.
The PDFs will now have the security method you set up applied.

I want to set up a process chain to run only during 8 am to 6 pm MST every 30 minutes. How do I do such a setting in the process chain?

You can do this by creating a daemon chain which runs once every 30 mins and triggers a event.
You can use the event triggered by the daemon chain in the start variant of the PC which you require to run every 30 mins.
But before doing that, make sure that one run of your process chain completes definetly in 30 mins.

Running report as PDF in OAS 10g (10.1.2) Reports Services
Hi,
PDF reports are running fine in Firefox browser but they are displaying data as garbage in internet explorer on some PCs. But on other workstations, these reports are running fine in Internet Explorer as well. I am using Oracle Application Server 10g, Reports Services (10.1.2). Adobe Acrobat 6 or Acrobat Reader 7 is installed on all PCs. Could anybody pointout that what might be the problem?

How to display infinity symbol in Crystal Reports using PDF as output
Hi
I need to show infinity symbol (u221E) in reports. I am using a formula and based on certain criteria i have to display infinity symbol.
If (somthing ) then show 'Error' (String)
else if something then 'u221E' (String)
This works fine in RPT file preview , but when opens in PDF , it shows ? mark as if not understood.
I used ChrW (Number) but it has until 255 and does not have a number for infinity

It would not be feasible to upgrade at this moment, we are already in production and need a solution for showing infinity in PDF.
Can you suggest something using crystal formulas could be possible or any other solution please . -
Run big report in PDF hangs though the PDF file was created in server
When running Oracle reports6i big master-details-details report(220 pages) in PDF format thru report server CGI on Netscape Enterprise Web server, it hangs. But the pdf file was created when checking in the server and is good when it's viewed directly using IE. Also checked the http://domain_name:8083/cgi-bin/reportcgi/showjobs?server=repsrv, the Job Status was 'FINISHED'.
The HTTP_error_Log in the server is:
[17/Feb/2004:13:31:42] failure (28995): for host 63.237.37.70 trying to POST /cgi-bin/reportcgi, cgieng_scan_headers reports: the CGI program /usr/netscape/elecprod/cgi-bin/reportcgi did not produce a valid header (read failed, error is Resource temporarily unavailable).
Please help as our users demand it urgently.
Thanks a lot.1) This bug734197 is fixed in version 3.0.5.13.0, which means it should be available in 6i (the version you are using) also. But from the bug description I see that it is reproduced with Reports 6.0.5.28.0 version also. If your reports 6i version is higher than this, it may contain this fix. Best thing is to apply the latest patch. The patches should be available in metalink (metalink.oracle.com) .
2) For troubleshooting purposes run the report in html/rtf and see whether it times out. ( just to see whether
this is a PDF specific issue)
3) Disable acrobat web integration (in Adobe acrobat settings) and try . This will prevent Acrobat reader from opening the pdf automatically and instead will show a dialog to save the pdf report ( There are some IE - Adobe issues which are not reports bugs).
4) There were some threads some time back which had this problem with long running reports and PDF. Finally it turned out to be webserver timeout problems. Pls see ( this is for 9i servlet and Apache webserver, but for 6i also it could be similar)

5) If these does not work and if you are not able to make further progress, I suggest you to get in touch with Oracle Support (if you have a support contract) to solve this issue. Hi All,
I am completely new to SSRS. I am currently using Visual Studio Premium 2013 version to develop my SSRS reports.
I've been reading many posts in regard to setting up SSRS reports to run automatically.
I can see on some answered posts that I can use subscription feature of SSRS by going to my report manager-->Select
your report--> goto properties -->Subscription tab.
My first dumb question as a newbie to SSRS is; how and where do I locate my report manager.

Where to find ODBC setup information to run reports?
I'm getting an error when I try to run reports against the Inventory DB, it says cannot connect, ensure that ODBC is setup properly. I looked through the documentation and cannot find out how to set this up. Does someone have any instructions?

That old school inventory is just awful :/

read the obdcreadme carefully.
But I suggest you have a look at Asset Inventory part of Asset
Management, I believe you have licences to use the Inventory part of
this much better inventory tool.

How to run report in background, save output to word or excel
Hello all,
I have a huge report that needs to be run in background and I need the report in word. When running in Dialog it takes too long and SAP times out. How do you get something to run in background and have the output in excel. I know you can go into SM37, find the spool and then forward the spool request to a local file, is there an easier way to do it? Maybe setting up some kind of to text printer since the background job always asks for the output printer. Any suggestions?
