How to setup stack files on desktop

I just got my first macpro and accidently blew away my stacked files that were located on bottom rgt corner of screen. could not find in trash so do not know where it went ... just know that while dragging this stack across screen and released it I saw a cloud icon then it was gone. anyone know how i can get it back or how to setup a stack again...should be easy?

Items in the Dock are just aliases (shortcuts) to the actual files/folders somewhere on the computer. I can't remember exactly what is on the right side by default, but probably the Downloads folder or the Documents folder.
If you want a stack in the Dock, just drag a folder from the Finder to the Dock and the OS will make an alias to the folder in the Dock. When you drag off the dock, you are deleting the alias to the item. if you control-click or click on hold on the folder in the Dock, you can choose the display options that you want it to have.
Stacks only exist in the Dock. You can't move them to the Desktop.
If you want an alias to a particular folder on your Desktop, cmdoptdrag the folder to the desktop. While you are dragging you will see the alias badge (a swooped arrow) indicating you will create an alias, not move the file/folder. Keeping things on the desktop takes up lots more resources than other folders, so it is not a good idea to put a lot of items there.

The default server and the server lists are written by design in Windows, which is located in registry at:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server Client\Default
You can delete them manually but this effect won’t persist after next remote desktop logon. The key will be recreated and save your choices of remote servers. Therefore, I’m afraid there is no policy or method to disable this feature. A possible workaround
is to save an empty .RDP file and deploy it to all the client sides, then let all the users use this one in order to avoid remote server being saved.

How to save MP4 files from Desktop to a folder

I have a number of MP4 files on my desktop which I have imported from my camera.
Please could someone explain - in VERY simple terms how to transfer these into a file or folder (sorry I don't know the correct terminology) so they are no longer on the desktop.

A "file" is any kind of object such as a music file, document, video file, that lives on your computer. A folder contains one or more files. It's based on the paper file/folder analogy. So yes, you would store files in a folder. In fact, your desktop is just another folder, but its contents are displayed on the screen when you log in.
So you can create a folder on the desktop by clicking once anywhere on the desktop to focus on the Finder, then click the shift, command and N keys (hold down shift and command - it's just to the left of the space bar - and click N). This creates a new folder called "Untitled folder" and the name is editable, which means you can type a new name for it (eg "My music files"). Type a new name and hit the Return key.
Then drag the MP4 files into the new folder to move them. You can select more than one file at once by command-clicking on each one in turn to highlight them, then click on any one of them and drag into the folder.

How to sync LR files between desktop and laptop

I would like to be able to upload and edit photographs from either my desktop (nice big screen) or laptop (portable).
I was under the impression that I could do this via CC's cloud storage, but it seems that LR's catalogs are stored in a different location file structure that the CC folder (which seems to be just a dropbox clone). A google search reveals a number of strategies for syncing between two PC's but they appear to be written in the pre-CC days. Those that appear to be more current seem to focus on syncing between a PC and your iPad (LR mobile).
Is there a way to store all my photos in the cloud, and have them sync'd between two Windows computers such that LR (or Photoshop) changes made on either machine are sync'd with the other machine? I.e., I have a single, consistent working environment regardless of which computer I'm sitting at?

How to setup a folder on Desktop to import Photos

I have a Mac 10.6.5. and Lightroom 3.3.
Would somebody provide a step by step on how to import photos from my SLR to a folder on my desktop before I import them into Lightroom.
I use a card reader to import photos. I do not wish Lightroom to open first but to go straight to my desktop? I set up a folder on the desktop, but my camera does not recognize the folder
I do not have my Nikon's editing application installed on my computer.

I cannot speak for Nikon, but Canon cameras come with a suite of tools for this purpose. There is a download tool to download images from your capture card called Camera Window and there is another tool to browse the images called ZoomBrowser which is similar to Adobe Bridge, except it can only view JPG and RAW image data including EXIF information and tags. It can also browse to any directory on your local machine (and possibly your network) so it is easy when you specify CameraWindow where to download the images to--ZoomBrowser then launches after CameraWindow is closed and opens to the directory/directories where your images are stored. They are usually named with the convention of this: YYYY--MM--DD (year, month, date) and numbered sequentially according to the last image that was taken by the camera, regardless of whether that image has been erased from the capture card.
I highly recommend looking into getting such a tool from Nikon for your camera. I'm sure Nikon, being a large company, has such a tool for your specific DSLR.
P.S. The tool from Nikon is probably a free download. Make sure it works with 64-bit OS and make sure you have the serial number of your camera in case the site requests it for the download. You might have to register as a user with Nikon on their site before being able to download.

How to setup new document for Desktop Wallpaper

new to the forums here...
i'm making a desktop wallpaper to display an announcement for my graphic design department at school, and i'm wanting to know the best way to set up the new document in PS CS4. i'm using the resolutions found under syst prefs > display prefs, just plugging those numbers into the new document setup for width and height. my question is what resolution i should use for a clean and sharp wallpaper, and should i just accept the default settings for color mode, color profile, and pixel aspect ratio.
FYI: right now i'm working on an 20" Intel iMac. models at school include 17" iMac G5's or early Intel iMacs, 20" and 24" aluminum Intel iMacs.

The resolution is irrelevant - pixel dimensions are all that matter. For instance, if the target desktop dimensions are 1920x1200 pixels, it doesn't matter if the resolution is 72 ppi or 300 ppi. Color mode should be RGB, profile should be sRGB and use square pixels.

How to setup jpeg file as background image for all site pages and resolution stay same?

I have background image set the same on all site pages but image is incorrectly zoomed way in on some pages (like Home page for example).
The Donate Page shows the correct resolution which I want displayed on all site pages.
How do I set all other site pages to match background image resolution of the Donate Page?
I am not sure what I am doing wrong that is changing this, or if it's possibly a bug?
I want the background image to be full screen on all site pages please advise how to resolve.

I have re-uploaded my site to http://wwwtjhtestdec2012.businesscatalyst.com.
If I set the Master page to Tile vertically that is only way I can get full screen background image of vegetables (without distortion).
Then however another issue occurs....
On Home Page of site I set same property to Tile and the background is better (no visible line where tiles meet---above the navigation tool bar--that is what I want for all pages associated to Master.
So logically, I tried setting a 2nd associated site page to same master, to Tile but on Statement of Faith Page, notice the horizontal line where tiles meet, above my navigation bar on that site page?
Why does Muse not handle both site pages associated to the same master identically?
Any of the other options besides Tile or Tile vertically cause the background to not fill entire screen.
Ideas?

EHP Stack file

I have multiple systems with same configuration where I need to update to EHP4 for ERP6 (EHP4 ready systems) on DB2 UDB. (ABAP only; central system)
I know that I can use the same set of SP files downloaded but I'll need to modify my stack file. I want to avoid registering in mopz for this time..
Any clue on how can the stack file be modified ? I have come across two unique system dependent entries in stack file including SID & Hostname ... is there anything else that I should change ?

Hi,
Another best approch to generate consistent EHP stack is, select all systems ( in step - v ), so that for entier landscape you will have only one EHP stack file.
You can use the folloiwng steps to generate EHP stack.
I assumed that your system has been connected to SolMan system.
i)       Use the t-code DSWP
ii)      Select the active solution form the list , say SAP ECC system
iii)     Once you select the solution, click on “operation” than select the “ Maintenance Optimizer”
iv)     Once you select Maintenance Optimizer tab, on the same window, click on “ Create new maintenance transaction” and this will open your default browser ( IE or Firefox )
v)      On the browser you need to select three things and click on continue
-- Solution : Same as step-ii
-- Product Version : ( Say ECC 6.0 )
-- System ( Say Dev or QAS)
vi)      Select “Calculate file automatically” . It will take some time
Rest of the steps are easy – you can select your components, OS, DB etc

Need to setup a set of word documents, converted to PDF that has links from one file to a second file at a given page.
I would like to setup a set of pdf documents, on the hard disk of a PC or Mac, that can be open with acrobat pro running on the same computer and have the link jump to, and open in a new window, in acrobat pro, to a given page of a second document in the set.
Is there a way to setup a link in word and the conversion to pdf that will result in a link that is equivalent to the acrobat link type you get when you add a link of the type Go to a page in another document?

I got close but did not solve the problem:
I have a version that uses links to a website, using #page=43 at the end of the hyperlink.
That works but will only open to the page if is through the web browser, opening the acrobat reader plugin.
I need to open from a folder on the local harddisk (with relative links), in acrobat pro to the given page of the pdf, on a PC or a Mac.
I could bookmark each page “pagenumberxxx” and jump to the bookmark/page if that would get around some problem
Current Systems in use to create documents with links and view them:
Windows XP SP3
Word 2003 SP3
Acrobat 9 pro version 9.4.4
Or just to view them:
Mac OS 10 Lion version 10.7.4
Acrobat 9 pro version 9.5.1

No. There seems to be no automated way to do it. You can of course go into the PDF and manually add links after you have converted to PDF, but that is what we want to avoid having to do. We want it to be automatic from the Word doc.

This is usually done in an .XML or other configuration file based on the particular web application container you are using.
For example, in Tomcat Java Container, its the following parameter in the /conf/web.xml file:
