How to shutdown vlan in layer2 ? Thanks in advance.
I've done it using "shutdown" command. but still it is showing active in "show vlan".

vlan 100, shutdown, and interface vlan 100, shutdown
Shutting down the interface vlan 2 disables the Layer 3 interface for that VLAN on the switch. This means hosts will still be able to communicate WITHIN the VLAN (Layer 2) but can not be routed off of the subnet.
Shutting down the VLAN (vlan 2) disables Layer 2 switching of that VLAN on the switch. This will effectively turn off all layer 2 switching on the VLAN (preventing all communication).

Go to your <ODI_11g_HOME>/oracledi/agent/bin
and you will find agent.sh , agent_<standalone_agent>.sh and odiparams.sh and other agent files.
Step 1. Update your odiparams.sh
Step 2. Create the Physical and Logical Agent int your Topology using the same port_number and name provide while creating the Stand alone agent during installation ( or) create accordingly the agent in Topology with name and port number as required and make the modification in agent_<stand_alone>.sh file
Step 3. After doing so start your agent_<stand_alone>.sh
Step 4. Repeat the process 2-3 for any number of stand alone agent created on different ports and steps 1 to 3 for different Work repository

how to create vlan on pix-6.3? i am bit confused.
how do i assign a single internet face with multiple ip address(not secondary IP address) for each & every vlan?
how to i connect to the switch, i mean if i put "switch port mode trunk" on the switch side, what command should i need on the PIX "inside" interface? in router the command is "encapsulation dot1Q 1"
also is there any restrictions that only limited vlans can be created or it is unlimited?

When you configure your interface, you usualy do it like that
interface ethernet0 auto
interface ethernet1 auto
Let's say that ethernet1 is a trunk with 2 vlan and a native vlan, you need to add to your config:
interface ethernet1 vlan100 logical
interface ethernet1 vlan200 logical
After that you need to name those interfaces and set the security level.
nameif ethernet0 outside security0
nameif ethernet1 inside security100
nameif vlan200 V200 security4
nameif vlan100 V100 security6
This configuration will give you an interface(eth1) with 1 native vlan(inside) and 2 tagged vlan(v200 and v100)
PIX will not negociate a trunk, your switch config is correct.

I have 1 WRV210 Wireless Router, this device have the vlan feature, I have read about this feature that u could have separate networks example:

10.0.8.x net-2
My ISP use pppoe, is working, but I dont know how to setup 2 networks with this device? The manual just tell u how to create vlans but is all nothing more.
Can someone help me with this?

Go to the Setup page of the wrv210. On the sub-tab click on Vlan. Select enable on the Port-Based Vlan. Check the box of the desired vlan that you want to assign to the port and ssid.

How to span vlans across core layer in core/distribution/access campus design?

Hi,
I studied Cisco Borderless Campus Design Guide 1.0 (http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/solutions/Enterprise/Campus/Borderless_Campus_Network_1-0/Borderless_Campus_1-0_Design_Guide.html) last week because we plan to redesign our campus backbone to a three tier Core/Distribution/Access Design.
Today we use a collapsed backbone where a lot of vlans are spanned across the backbone because they are needed in different buildings.
Could anybody give me a hint how Cisco recommends to deal with that kind of vlans in the multi-tier design?
In my eyes between core and distribution layer there is only routing functionality and no l2 transport of vlans.
So using the same vlan in different buildings seems not to be supported?

Just to add to Joseph's post.
It is quite common for a vlan to be spanned when it doesn't actually need to be ie. the network has evolved that way.
Most things do not need L2 adjacency, they can happily use L3. Servers sometimes do but in the campus design your servers are usually located in one site so you don't need to extend vlans to other sites in your campus.
Not suggesting this is the case for you but it may be worth checking whether you really do. (apologies if you already have)
As Joseph mentioned you really want to avoid it if at all possible ie. ideally all connections to the core switches are L3 ie. no need for vlans at all in the core.
If you need to extend a few vlans then you can do this but still route for all other vlans ie. you would configure your distribution to core connections as trunks and then allow the vlans you need to extend plus one other vlan, unique per distribution pair, to route all other vlans. So per site your distribution switches route all vlans except the extended vlans and of they need to route to a vlan in another site they use that unique vlan.
But this is not ideal because you then need to extend certain vlans across the core and because you are using L2 connections STP could come into it although that does depend on your core switch selection eg. 4500/6500 VSS etc. would alleviate this.
There are ways to extend vlans across a L3 network but the solutions available are very much dependant on the kit you use and their capabilities so if you do need multiple vlans in multiple sites but still want to keep a L3 core you may want to investigate some of those before purchasing kit (unless of course you have already purchased it).
What you do really depends on just how many vlans you actually need to extend between sites.

You can try setting the logon as batch job to the OS user from local security policy
1.Go Control Panel, Administrative Tools.
2. Click on Local Security Policy.
3. Local Policies, User Rights Assignment.
4. Double click, 'Log on as a batch job'

Using the vSphere Distr Switch, we set native VLAN per VM by setting the VLAN d to 0.
How do we set the native VLAN for a VM if the VM is connected to a 1000V? I heard we no longer can use VLAN ID 0?

Same way you would on any Cisco switch.
Add this command to your Uplink port profile:
switchport trunk native vlan X
Keep in mind there is no VLAN 0. VLAN "0" is just how vmware designates the untagged VLAN. Valid ranges are 1-4095 according to the standard.
