How to stop our SPG504G's from trying tftp?

Hi Folks,
I'm going a little insane here - hoping someone can suggest a fix.
We have a few (10 or so) SPA504G phones in our NZ office, talking to a local cloud PABX mob.  When we first set them up, I wasn't keen on statically configuring them all, given we have no IT support there, so I spent a couple of days playing, and ended up with the following:
1) Local DHCP server sets option 66 to http://ourserver.ourdomain.com/phones/nzphones/XMLDefault504G.cnf.xml
That contains:
<flat-profile><Resync_On_Reset>Yes</Resync_On_Reset><Resync_Periodic>10</Resync_Periodic><Profile_Rule>http://ourserver.outdomain.com/phones/nzphones/spa$MA.xml</Profile_Rule></flat-profile>
2) I have a PHP script handling all access to /nzphones/ which uses a template, and a local database, to take the MAC address and shove in all the relevant user-specific configuration - local ports (for reverse NAT), username, password, etc etc.  I have the phones set to resync every 24 hours, so that any config updates I do only take 24 hours to get picked up, at the most.
That's all been working great for 6 months, except that one of the NZ staff happened to mention yesterday, that those reboots take about 15 minutes!
So I've been having a bit of a play, and it looks like the phones are initially ignoring the option 66, and trying to do TFTP to our DHCP server?!
Using TCPDump, I'm seeing lots of these:
192.168.64.114.1029 > 192.168.40.254.69: [udp sum ok]  50 RRQ "XMLDefault504G.cnf.xml" octet timeout 10 tsize 0
192.168.64.114.1029 > 192.168.40.254.69: [udp sum ok]  46 RRQ "XMLDefault.cnf.xml" octet timeout 10 tsize 0
I've been trawling through all the results in google, and youtube videos from cisco that I can find, but there's nothing overly in-depth to describe the exact configuration options I should be using..
Anyone happen to be doing something similar with their phones, and have figured this out?
Thanks,
Damien

At the first, don't use reserved file name XMLDefault504G.cnf.xml for your's customized configuration. Rename the file, change name in DHCP configuration.
XMLDefault504G.cnf.xml and XMLDefault.cnf.xml files are dedicated to SPCP mode configuration.
In advance, you can disable SPCP - add
SIP
to your configuration to disable SPCP autoconfiguration attempts.
Mark thread as answered if it solve your problem.

I'm running CS3 on Mac OS Leopard, and the automatic tool switching slows me down, but even preferences doesn't show a way to turn this off.
    Thanks for your help.

With any marquee tool, JUST holding down the option key should not switch tools. You need to explain the problem much more carefully, It's completely impossible to tell from your description whats going wrong.
    automatic tool switching
The only preference related to this, is to do with the SHIFT KEY - "use Shift key for tool switch".

  • How do I stop Logic Pro X from trying to load a 32 bit plug-in that's no longer installed

How do I stop Logic Pro X from trying to load a 32 bit plug-in that's no longer installed?  I noticed it occurring on projects where I used Miroslav Philharmonik. I keep getting prompted when opening the projects. I uninstalled Miroslav thinking it would stop, but it didn't.

Assuming you are talking about the boxed set of Logic Studio (Logic Pro 9) on DVDs the only solutions are to either borrow or purchase an external CD/DVD drive and use that with your new MBP.
Amazon sells a very reasonably priced 'Amazon Basics' external CD/DVD drive suitable for the process...
    http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Portable-External-Optical-Drive/dp/B003M0NT1M /ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1416924310&sr=8-1&keywords=CD+DVD+external+drive+amazon+ basics
Do NOT try and copy Logic across from your Mac to your MBP using something like Time Machine or Migration Assistant... 99% of the time, doing so results in all kind of weird issues later on.
Just install Logic pro 9 plus all it's content from scratch using the DVDs provided with Logic Studio Boxed set.....

How to stop the spinning ball after trying to install V10.7.3?

Boot from your recovery partition by holding down the key combination command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the Recovery desktop appears, reinstall the Mac OS. You don't need to erase the boot volume, and you won't need your backup unless something goes wrong. If your Mac didn’t ship with Lion, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade, so make a note of those before you begin.

  • How to stop the tab bar from automatically hiding itself?

ive only found how to stop the address bar from disappearing and everyone with the tab problem seems to have posted this over a week ago and still hasnt been fixed yet if noone has a fix im out and done with firefox they can suck a fat one
why add this feature! i can understand the address bar but not the tabs all you have to do to hide it was push the tab button again and its gone was that so fucking hard that you had ruin a perfectly fine browser

    Hello,
In Firefox 23, as part of an effort to simplify the Firefox options set and facilitate future improvements to Firefox, the option to hide the tab bar was removed.
Fortunately, this can easily be resolved if you desire the keep tabs hidden. You can install "[https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/hide-tab-bar-with-one-tab/ Hide tab bar with one tab]", an extension hosted on Mozilla's add-ons site, which will restore the ability to hide the tab bar.
Thank you and I hope this helps!

Make sure to quit all open applications before logging out.
Your proflie indicates your Mac has v10.7.1 installed.
If that is the case, updating your system software will help as far as functionaly as well as security.
Install the OS X Lion Update 10.7.5 (Client Combo)
    Then restart your Mac.

Anytime i plug a charger into my iphone . It vibrates , How doI stop this. I've tried several ways

No way to completely stop it.  When you plug in the power cord, it will chime, or it will vibrate (if the mute switch is on), but the device is designed to one of the other.  I suppose it is the designers way of making sure that you know your device is properly connected and has switched over to external power.  At this point in time, that feature cannot be disabled.

Anyone know how to stop the "activate" box from blocking usage of a perfectly legal copy of Ilisten? I want to help my dyslexic grandson and this box, including the activation code, keeps popping up, keeping me from using the software. I activated the program and did a few profile building sessions, now it pops up each time I start the program, blocking me from using it. Help sure would be appreciated.

I looked at your post this morning and did not know enough to respond, other than to find out that links to iListen now go to newer, renamed software. Considering it's been nine hours with no response, I'm suspecting few people here have experience with that software. You could contact the current copmany that used to sell that package and see if they have any archived support info.
BTW: please check you entry for "Mac OS" in your profile. It says iOS, which cannot run on an iMac. iOS is the system for phone and iPads but can't run on Mac computers. Do "About this Mac" from the Apple menu and see what it says about the OS version. Should look like this:
If the "Processor" line says "Intel," you have a newer Mac than the old modles this forum covers; Intel iMac have their very own forum here:

    1. Sync wasn't intended to be used in that manner. You would be better off carrying around a USB Flash Stick with Portable Firefox for use on "strange" PC's.
    2. You could open the "Library" {Ctrl + Shift + B} and highlight all those bookmarks and then delete them all at once. But that would also delete all the other bookmarks, and it isn't foolproof. All another person would need to do it to '''''restore''''' a bookmark backup file that has your bookmarks. Beyond that, a new Profile could be created and then the current Profile deleted; but that's "messing with" someone else's computer - an action that is worthy of terminating a friendship over, IMO.
And if that "public" computer was set up properly, Sync should have been disabled.

Hulu is working on my internet explorer 8, tho... Interesting thing is that it detected I didn't have the 10.1 version of adobe flash player even though I just downloaded that on firefox. So MAYBE the problem is between firefox and adobe. Just a guess

  • Anyone any advice on how to stop my mail "activity" from continuously caching? is this a problem? I have had inbox issues recently that are not resolved yet but I am not sure if they are related.

Anyone any advice on how to stop my mail "activity" from continuously caching? is this a problem? I have had inbox issues recently that are not resolved yet but I am not sure if they are related.

Quit Mail. Force quit if necessary.
Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.
Triple-click the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Envelope Index
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return.
A Finder window will open with a file selected. Move the selected file to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Other files in the folder may have names that begin with "Envelope Index". Move those files, if any, to the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is corrupt and that Mail has to quit. Click OK.
Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the file you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, post your results.

How to stop safari on ios7 from remembering history?
I hate to continually delete my history. Is there a way to stop it or set it to delete it on its own every day?

    Hey Bigchins!
I have an article here that can address your question for you. The feature you are looking for is called private browsing, and it is explained here:
To enable or disable Private Browsing, turn Private Browsing on or off.
Private Browsing in iOS 5 protects private information and blocks some websites from tracking your behavior. Safari doesn't remember the pages you visit, your search history, or your AutoFill information.
Note: While Private Browsing is enabled, the Safari bars appear black or dark instead of blue or gray.

  • Stop gnome 3.2 from trying to adjust brightness [SOLVED]

I see this error a lot in my .xsession.errors:
(gnome-settings-daemon:1207): power-plugin-WARNING **: failed to restore backlight to 100: out of brightness range: 100, has to be 8 -> 0
This is probably because I have samsung-tools and easy-slow-down-manager installed from AUR to get the backlight controls of my samsung laptop to work.
Does anybody know how I get rid of this error?
I looked in org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.power but did not find a way to stop gnome from trying to adjust the brightness. I tried disabling the power plugin altogether by setting 'active' to false, but this made it impossible to switch brightness manually.

I managed to solve the issue by applying this patch: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=661287.
Still wondering why it didn't show up in google searches though.

  • Booting from external, need to stop bad internal drive from trying to mount

I have an Intel iMac with a bad internal drive. It won't mount, but makes several clicks every few seconds trying to access the drive. Eventually I will take it in for repair, but I don't want to be without it for several days and it is working fine with the external drive.
It's not a huge problem, but the clicking gets annoying. Does anyone have suggestions on how I can disable the drive or prevent the computer from trying to access it? I don't want to physically disable it unless it is a simple procedure. I'm hoping there is a software solution via OS X or Terminal commands.
I should say that I found some instructions to prevent a drive from mounting, but it requires the drive's UUID which I can't get unless it mounts. Also, I don't know if this will stop the clicking. Anyway, here are the instructions. Perhaps there is a way to do something similar without knowing the UUID or by knowing the UUID of the working drives? I appreciate any help.
    1. Open Disk Utility
    2. Select the bad drive, then click the Info button
    3. Copy the Universal Unique Identifier (UUID) code
    4. Open a Terminal window and type: sudo pico /etc/fstab
    5. Enter your password
    6. Enter the line below (using your own UUID):
    UUID=CDB15826-88A3-36AC-8009-3E71355F0B18 none hfs rw,noauto
    (taken from http://www.macseven.com/files/20070719how_to_prevent_a_drive_volume_frommounting.html)

I don't know if it can be done using software solution (I think not). It's possible to remove the drive physically but it is rather tricky. see this thread for instructions
