How to stream images stored in an external server in to a Flash Web Site?

I would like to be able to bring in external images in a banner like in a slideshow, but not sure how to do it. I have a bunch of small images that I would like it to go through, and my current banner has all the images in the swf and the swf file is huge. Is there a way to import external images from a folder on the server? Where can I go to learn how to do this? Thanks....

Your best bet for this would be to search Google using search terms like "AS3 slideshow tutorial" or "AS3 dynamic slideshow turoial". THis assumes you are designing an AS3 file. If not, substitiute AS2 for AS3 in the terms.
In AS3, one of the main classes used for loading external images is the Loader class. SO becoming familiar with that will be a necessary part of the learning. But that is not all since you want to have controls for displaying the images.
One thing I noticed with the banner you show, the images would not seem to need to be any "huge" burden as far as file goes. You should optimize all images before you import them into the file.
Still, having the images loading from an external supply will be better because then you can change the images as you wish without having to edit the Flash file. To realize this capability you should include "XML" with the rest of the search terms previously identified.

My question is how I get all of the links in my indd files to point to the new drive. I am aware how to do it one file at a time, but is there a way of doing the same thing over many files/folders at a time?

It depends on how you organize your work. If you have one folder for images for a document, relinking one image should alert you that other missing images are in the same folder, but this assumes that images are missing. If the links window sees a clear path to the original location of the images, they aren't missing, so that won't work.
Another thing to try is to select all of the images in the links window and go to the fly-out menu and select Relink To Folder (navigate to the new folder, and you don't even have to select any images by name).
If you store your images in many different folders for the same document, you might want to either package the document to copy all of the images into one folder (you can specify to only copy images if you like) or use the fly-out in the links window (Utilities>Copy Links To…) and select or create a new images folder.

When I try to same an image under the command 'save as' it will only let me save as file types 'firefox document' or 'all files' and when I try to look at them later they dont work. How can I save an image as the same file type it is on the web site?!

Thanks Alex, but sadly I already tried that. Neither .docx or .xlsx files show up in the content list. They both show as a Chrome HTML document so changing how Firefox addresses those doesn't help since it thinks its the same type of file. I don't think I can manually add files into the "Content Type" left side nav.

How to View Flash Web Sites?

How can I view flash web sites on my iPhone? Do I need to download adobe flash player onto my phone to view these sites?

After all, we're talking about a phone that uses battery draining special effects between every single darned screen, and most user actions (especially scrolling) ...
What makes you think the iPhone's hardware & OS weren't carefully optimized for these UI effects? I don't get it. People still seem to think this is just another Mac-like device running OS X, but smaller. It isn't. Apple certainly has the resources to embed an architecture in the device tailor made for its capabilities. After all, the G4 PPC processor was designed specifically for the Mac OS & that was a lot more costly to do than using an embedded ARM core, which is purpose-designed to make exactly this kind of thing possible.
Besides, Flash is notoriously processor intensive, having grown so much from its origins as a simple vector based animation tool into a virtual Frankenstein since Adobe acquired it.

How do update image links to an external location?

Hi, I did a Google search and a forum search, but have not found what I'm looking for...
I am opening an Illustrator file downloaded from our company server. All images used in this Illustrator file are stored in a sub-folder on the same company server.
When I open up the Illustrator file none of the images appear because the links are broken. Rather than download all of the images used in the Illustrator file to my local machine and re-linking the images, I want to know if there's a way to relink the images to the external images location on the company server.

I am afraid you wish cannot be fulfilled.
As you probably know, opening/saving AI files from/to to the company server is risky in terms of file corruption.

Have you thought about using an Eye-Fi SD card? They have WiFi and can transfer photos from the camera to a computer while shooting. For the iPad, there's an app called ShutterSnitch that can receive the photos from the Eye-Fi card.

Yes DuraiRaja - i am using the document.getElementById(' ').
In my app, I have a Main controller calling a View - Default.HTM,
This Default.HTM, in turn loads up three trays T1, T2, T3 and these tray elements in turn call up the controllers ctrl1, ctrl2, ctrl3 associated to them.
CTRL1 calls a view - View1 - V1.htm, which has the below code.
And on the below page all that i am trying to do is validate if "FieldVal" is blank or not.
I get an error on IE as "Object required"
I get a HTTP 501/505 error when i try to upload the code.

I know that a DMS number is created in Filenet for each image you upload and that is how you link it. But I am here to ask you how you connected from SAP to filenet? Can you please update me if you have done any rfc calls, any Function module or BAPI?

I have web sites in my bookmarks and it does not look on the internet for the latest version and furthermore using F5 does not work . How do I resize a photo to attach it to someone else's web site

I want to add photo attachments to someone else's web site. my files are raw, off the camera i.e. big. I can easily resize if I email. but why can't find an easy way to downsize in iPhoto? what should I do?

The image you're viewing in iPhoto are jpeg versions of the RAW files. So all you need to do is drag it to the desktop and you will get a jpeg file of around 2-3 MBs depending on the RAW file size.
Or you can export as leonieDF has suggested while setting the compression level (Quality) and maximum pixel dimension to get the image and file size you need.

Actually my requirement is, I would like to pass site name and document library name as a parameter and get a folders and files from the document library and form the directory structure by using Treeview control in my web site.
How should i get? Using Web service / object model?
Web service would return the dataset as a result so from that how could i form the directory structure using Treeview control.
I will select specified files and folders then i ll update sharepoint document library columns for corresponding selected files.

How to maintain a flash web site

Hello everybody,
I know about Java, Javascript, html but unfortunatly I don't
know anything about Flash.
A friend of mine is going to create a website for my jazz

Since my last report one month ago above, I have found the "Report Broken Website" appears under the Help menu item, is clickable when a webpage is displayed, but just endlessly displays a "Sending Report to server" dialog. It has never worked for me since several weeks ago. The moving blue bar under "Sending Report" just keeps moving but nothing happens.

How to handle images stored /outside/ Aperture

I am coming from a PC environment where my images were stored all over my hard drive in various folders and subfolders. I am part-way through organizing all of this in Aperture but I OFTEN find myself exporting images to folders on my desktop in order to upload them to FTP or edit them in Photoshop conveniently and as I move to working in something like an Adobe Suite that allows me to edit and link images I do see myself keeping images outside of Aperture.
Can anyone help me out with how to manage this a little more practically (say by only keeping images on the desktop but not in the Documents Folder) and/or should I be trying to discipline myself down to keeping everything in Aperture? I find it relatively confusing to do it this way but am very interested in getting some advice on this.

I used to have everything sorted with the top folder being 'Project 1', 'Project 2', 'Project 3', etc. with either all files in that folder, or sub-folders for each file type. This was pretty good, but eventually got out of hand once I had a couple hundred projects with all types of files in each folder and needed to find a specific file (say an Illustrator file I needed to work on).
Now, I use the following structure for Adobe CS5 projects:
Top level folder = 'Design Files'
Second level folders = 'Photoshop Files', 'Illustrator Files', 'InDesign Files', 'Acrobat Files'
Third level folders (inside each of the second level folders as needed) = 'Project 1', 'Project 2', 'Project 3', etc.
This gives me all my PSD files inside one master 'Photoshop Files' folder divided by Project folders. If - for example - Project 1 has PSD files, AI files, IND files and PDF files, then there is a Project 1 folder under each of the second level folders for each program. This allows me easy access to either all files for a program by going to that folder, or I can run a dynamic search (smart folder) for a project and see all relevant folders for that project in the search results.
The main reason I have it this way now is that I usually remember the file type (as mentioned above for an Illustrator file). I typically remember that I did an illustration, but can't remember the file name of the illustration or the project it went in for sure. My current structure shortens my search time considerably.
Note - I can also use Bridge CS5 very easily for the Adobe CS5 files since it shows thumbnails of the actual file and I can visually search very fast that way.
At home - with Aperture - I only hold the original images (pictures) that I started to work with. I don't keep any PSD, TIFF, PDF, PNG, etc. in the library. This is simply because Bridge is much better at showing those files with transparency if it exists, and Aperture stays a straight-forward image (picture) database for me.
If I send an image to a plug-in or to Photoshop from inside Aperture, I do it for a specific purpose and then I complete the process and export it to one of the dedicated folders in Finder (typically to my Photoshop Files folder). If I really need to keep the layer work in a PSD file, then I will use the 'Save As' command from inside Photoshop to save out to a folder and then just trash the file Aperture sent to Photoshop. Although I have not had any real issues with Aperture holding PSD files in the past, I simply trust Adobe to handle their own files without relying on Apple's program to do it for me.
As far as miscellaneous files (screenshots, scans, web icons), I really don't do many of those. I have a few scans which are not part of any project and just keep those in a two level folder (Art / Scans). For web icons, I would probably suggest going with the program you used for a folder (Photoshop Files?). Not sure what program or file type you are using for those (GIF, PNG - I don't work with web design so not real familiar with current practices for icon design for the web).
For JPEG files, I use a second level 'JPEG files' folder for any JPEG's that are used in my design projects in a 'Project 1', 'Project 2', etc. folder (same as the other file types mentioned above). Although, I typically use PSD files as source files and then save out JPEG's on a case-by-case basis (similar to using Aperture as the source and exporting as needed).
Since most of my design files are for InDesign projects, I complete the project by embedding all links in the document after having printed to PDF (and proof-reading prior to embedding). This protects against lost links if I need to work with the master file again for some reason. I can always place a new image or file in the document as needed and since I have a PDF of the file to send to collegues, the extra file size in the InDesign file after embedding is not a big deal.
So, in summary; I use a top level folder (based on category; e.g., Design Files) and then organize by file type parent folders with dedicated project folders under those as needed. Works for the way I think.

How to stream images to multiple ATVs?

I would like to install 5 large screen monitors throughout an office for advertising purposes. I will display an image that changes about every 30 seconds. I could use iPhoto, Keynote, Quicktime, or whatever works best.
The question is, with a good dedicated server, can I stream to 5 ATVs simultaneously? If not, any better ideas how to achieve this? I could go with a wired network, but would prefer wireless. I am open to a solution other than ATV if needed.

I've no idea if there is a certain processor that would be needed, I've been streaming to multiple Apple TV's since they came out and not had a problem on various computers. If you are going to encounter a problem it will likely be with your network rather than your computer, the computer does very little but send the data it's requested to.
5 Apple TV's might place too much of a load on a wifi network that isn't working as well as it should be, either because the distances are too great or it's experiencing interference. I tend to have a lot of data flying around my network, in addition to my 6 Apple TV's, we have several HD security cameras that use the network as well as a couple of iPads, 4 phones and numerous computers and other devices.
To accommodate all this traffic I use more than one wifi base station all using the same network and linked via ethernet. This is what I do, it's a little out of date now, we have 3 Apple TV 1's and 3 Apple TV 2's now instead of 5 Apple TV 1's and a couple fewer phones, but you'll get the idea.
The Apple TV outputs at 720p depending on the TV you have the TV will scale the output accordingly. It doesn't matter how high a resolution the photos are they can never be scaled to more than 1920 x1080 on a TV screen as that's the maximum resolution of a TV.
How often the slideshow repeats depends on how long each slide is displayed for and how many there are. If you have (say) 100 slides and they each last for 20 seconds, the slideshow will repeat after 33 minutes and 20 seconds.
