How to stream live url using FMLE

Hi All,
I am new to FMLE.
I am currenlty using Suse Linux server 10 with wowza server to stream udp unicast to rtmp. So my wowza server output will be of rtmp.
ex- rtmp://SERVERIP/App/App.stream
This is working fine. But now i have a problem with pushing the stream to cdn.
cdn folks asked me to use FMLE to encode and push stream. How can i use FMLE on linux?
Can i give my rtmp url as input to FMLE (using new machine with windows server, since FMLE can't be used with Linux) and tell it to push to cdn?

Sorry , I haven't understod anything. I am a new biee here.
My rtmp streaming url is working fine with players. Since i need to put them on cdn, cdn folks asked me to install FMLE, FMS.
Now the question.
1. How should be my setup?
-> Is it something , output of wowza (the rtmp url) is given to FMLE running on windows machine? (i don't think this is possible, since FMLE does not take any urls as input).
->What is the use of FMS (Flash media server) ? whether that can be used stand alonely? (without FMLE ?), can i stream the rtmp url from wowza to FMS (since wowza does not support push), can FMS pull rtmp stream? and then it can push to cdn servers?
Can anybody tell me how should b whole setup?
Please help.

Someone could give you better and more exact information but you didn't include the model number of your computer. But I can give you a pretty generic answer. At the top of this webpage you should see Product Support. Click on Laptops and then select which model of Toshiba computer you own, ie Satellite, Tecra, etc. Finally type in the model number of your computer. Select the exact model number and click the red Go button to the right. Click the Downloads tab and look thru the different drivers for this computer. Make sure that the new video driver is newer and has a higher version number than your current video driver. If it does, click the Download button, click the Run button and let it do the installation. Afterwards, reboot the computer so that the latest drivers are fully installed. Try again with that game.

Stream live video - use http or rtmp protocols from player code?

I'm trying to stream live video for the first time. I've installed FMIS 3.5 without Apache 2.2. I'm confused on the RTMP/HTTP protocol usage,
I can only have port 80 opened on our FMIS 3.5 box.
1. I've created a new directory under "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Flash Media Server 3.5\applications" called "livedev" as my publishing point.
2. Question:
     Do I need to copy main.asc, Application.xml, allowedHTMLdomains.txt, allowedSWFdomains.txt to this directory as well?
3. Question:
     Using FMLE 3 - FMS URL parameter which protocol do I need to use, does it matter 'http' or 'rtmp'? - http://localhost/livedev or rtmp://localhost/livedev
     Does RMTP use port 80.
4. Question:
     In my Flash Player code. I dragged an instance of FLVPlayback component, what URL do I need for the 'Source' parameter?

2. You don't need to copy main.asc unless you have logic in there that you want on your new application. It's a text file so you can open and read it, get familiar. allowedDomains is up to your security policy, but if you want it to apply to that application then yes. Finally the Application.xml in there is an override of the default one in the server's conf directory - so you only need to include it if you plan on overriding settings from the default.
3. Chosing which type dictates whether or not you're doing HTTP (not streaming) or RTMP (streaming) however you've added a complication that you're only allowed to use port 80 - which RTMP does not by default. FMLE doesn't support HTTP push to FMS, so the FMS URI must be fomr form of RTMP* so you're left with some good choices
Use RTMP over port 80 like so rtmp://myServerName:80/appName/ <- notice the coded port number
Use RTMPT which automatically uses port 80 and will get around most proxies that demand HTTP traffic - however there's more performance overhead than RTMP (think maybe 25% more overhead for a wild guess on my part)
I dunno the answer for your FLVPlayback component but I'm going to take a guess that the issue is about the same here and you should use the same parameter that you're using for your RTMP ingest. At worst I'm pretty sure that it will work and that's not so bad.

I am trying to replicate the deinterlace functionality that is available in FMLE in a simple flash broadcaster that is hosted on my website.
I have built a flash broadcaster (using Flash CS4 and AS2) that connects to my FMS server with the aim that people can stream live video to the site. That all works OK; however, I would like to be able to implement a deinterlace option like that which is available in FMLE. Any clues?

Troubles streaming live video using Playbook

Hi,
I have Bell's Fibe12 internet and am using their sagemcom f@st 2864 wireless modem.
My playbook is connected to my wireless network and I can browse the web no problem. However, when I start to stream live tv or radio, it starts to work fine for a little bit (longer with radio) and then starts to freeze up/ become choppy.
I connected my laptop to the same wireless network and stream the same video no problem.
Do you think it's the Playbook or something with my WiFi?

Unfortunately, the one I use for streaming video is password protected as I am subscribed to it.
Someone mentioned to me that it has to do with the fact that my router is 2.4Ghz and that the Playbook needs a 5.0Ghz router in order to stream video with no issues.

Streaming Live Video using Flash Media Encoder/Flash Media Streaming Server

We currently get a video feed from local cable channel that gets streamed live to our internet website. It gets encoded first on our Windows 2003 server running Windows Media Encoder and then gets published on another Windows 2003 server running Windows Media Services. We are trying to replace these two servers with another solution and the two things driving this project are:
1. These two servers are coming to an end of life cycle so we need to replace the hardware and upgrade the OS.
2. They currently only support Windows compatible file formats. Just like other organizations out there, iPAD users are popping up and they want to view these video streaming from their iPAD.
That's why we are looking at Adobe Flash Media Encoder3 and Flash Media Streaming Server 4.5. My questions for the experts out there are:
1. Can Adobe Flash Media Encoder and Adobe Flash Media Streaming Server can replace our current solution?
2. Do we need both Flash Media Encoder and Flash Media Streaming Server or can Flash Media Streaming Server also can encode video feed?
3. Can Flash Media Encoder and Flash Media Streaming Server can run on the same server?
4. Our Windows Media Services server also has few on-demand publishing points along with a live video streaming. Can above mentioned Adobe products support having live streaming publishing point along with on-demand video publishing points?
5. Does Adobe Flash Media Encoder only support Flash and Quicktime or does it also support .wmv?
I called the sales to find the answers to these questions but he basically read the features listed on the Adobe product website and couldn't really answer these questions.
Any help in find the answers to these questions will be greatly appreciated.

How to stream live on front panel by given browser url

Hi,
I have an IP Camera which can be viewed online through a given url.
However, i am stuck trying to display the live stream on my front panel. DAQ-Max is not needed because the camera is already integrated to software.
Attached is my VI so far, and here is the website:

Click on mobile mode to see the live video stream.
However there is an error at the "READ JPEG file" when i run the VI. I dont really understand the error?
I just need to link the VI's front panel to the live stream video via url. How do I do that? Thank you in advance!

How to Stream live Audio and metadata

Helo there,
i'm trying to build some kind of online radio. Therefore i'll be streaming audio (mp3) in real time.
Ok, so here's my problem: i have a play-list on my server and the idea is for this play-list to play all day long, but on the client side the user can only do play and stop the music.
The problem is when one music stops and the next one starts i need the server to send not only the new audio but also all the info about this file: duration, author and music name, this way my player can show a play /stop and all the info about the current music playing.
Until now i've only come across with video live streaming, but very little information on how to do a live transmission of audio.
ps: the only info on streaming audio that i've found so far is about audio on demand, but the way i want things to happen the client can't chose the music.
any ideas?

I think you can use Server-side Stream object to create a playlist and other functions on server-side.
Basically you can add your mp3 files to be played, basically just their names to an array object, and on the fly update it.
Now take first file from the array and create the playlist and keep on adding new files from the names array.
Also you can define onPlayStatus on your stream object to track when one song finishes and other starts.
Also since you have names of the files, you can set an interval based on current song's duration which would get triggered and send information to client of next song to be played. For this you can use onId3 method as mp3 files would not have metadata defined.

How to stream live media in Lion server

Even though Apple's website recommends QuickTime Broadcaster and Darwin server

QuickTime Broadcaster is not compatible with Lion server and Darwin server webpage appears fixed to 2008...4 years ago!
So what is the solution now that I have Lion server?
I want to stream a live video feed from my education lab so that students overseas can view. No audio is OK.
QuickTime Broadcaster used to do the job fine...since 1998! Maybe I should reinstall 10.6 server?

You will need a dev account to get the tools and when this first came out it was the equivalent of rocket science. I see that Apple has done some work to improve but we've never given it a second chance.

How to access a URL using Image

Hi All,
I have a requirement to add an Image Item as a column to a Table within a Seeded Iprocurement Requisitions Details Page, so that when the user clicks on it, he navigates to a specific URL.
However, this specific URL is stored in the fnd_attachment tables against each invoice_id. So, I effectively need to first query the URL from the fnd_attachment tables for a given invoice_id and then somehow set the destination url property of this image item.
I know by extending the VO , I can get the actual value of the URL stored in an attribute and by extending the CO I need to set the URI for this image item.
But for testing purposes, I simply added an Image item, with a destination URI of www.google.com, but it seems to append http://<server.domain.com>:8000/OA_HTML before www.google.com
Also, I need it to open in a seperate window. Are there any other alternatives to this ? I cannot seem to create a link item within my table region.
How can I achieve this ?

if you want to substitute the VO attribute in this DestrinationURI then you should do it in the controller.
write the following code in the processRequest

How to get full url using UCM RIDC api

I am using RIDC api to get the full url of the document (including protocol, host, port info). I tried using DOC_INFO
and GET_SEARCH_RESULTS api. The GET_SEARCH_RESULTS api returns the path but no protocol, host, port info.
DOC_INFO does not contain any uri. Is there a way to get full url? I only have access to the idc socket connection
configuration to connect to the server.
E.g. I know the idc connection url is idc://hostname:4444
The user supplies document name as "myDoc.txt" and dId = 2000.
I used GET_SEARCH_RESULTS for myDoc.txt and DOC_INFO for dId=2000.
I need to return absolute url to the user that user can copy paste in the browser and download the doc.

You can ge the docUrl using doc info services DOC_INFO or DOC_INFO_BY_NAME.

How to filter in URL using NW04s WAD?

Greeting Web Template Gurus,
I am working in NW04s SP12 WAD (Web Application Designer) and I am trying to use the filtering criteria in my URL... <bwurl>&FILTER_IOBJNM=0PLANT&FILTER_VALUE=1000. I have brought in the Filter Pane in the Web template and when I run the Web Template in IE, I do not see where 0PLANT is being used.
Is there a setting in the Web Template I am missing, or a specific Command I need to be running to get this to work for me?

How to stream Live News on Apple TV Gen 3 all day long

I have searched and searched and cannot find any help with this matter. My searching must need some help.
I am trying to set up this apple tv at my office. Model A1427 so it should be a Gen 3 correct? http://support.apple.com/kb/HT200008?viewlocale=en_US
What I would like to do is to get rid of our cable provider! Why pay $50/ month when I have 2 apple tv's! All we use the cable is to have a news type station playing all day long. Like CNN or CNBC, Fox news. You get the idea. Can my apple tv do this?
I have updated to the latest version, and now I have bloomberg news and sky news. I have also set my sleep to never as well as the slideshow.
However when I run bloomberg, it stops playing after every "show" Then I have to go select it again. Is there a way to get around this? All I want is it to play 8 hrs a day and for me not to select or press any buttons. The sky news appears to do this, but I would rather have a USA news type station.
Any help would be very much appreciated. If there are topics on this already, please direct me to them. I have searched for several hours yesterday and today.
