How to switch Datasource from OLE to ODBC for existing report

I have a report that must be deployed to an app that requires all datasource connections to be ODBC. I do not have access to the source for this app since it is from/developed by a 3rd party.
My report has 3 commands (Command, Command_1, Command_2) against an OLE datasource. I cannot figure out how to switch these over from OLE to my ODBC datasource and still maintain all the existing Crystal internal references to fields for the content, formulas, etc.

There is a SAP note that helps us to update the Datasource location. The Note # is 1215594.

Hi,
When you migrate a 3.x DataSource (R3TR ISFS) in an original system, the system generates a DataSource (R3TR RSDS) with a transport connection. The 3.x DataSource is deleted, along with the 3.x metadata object mapping (R3TR ISMP) and transfer structure (R3TR ISTS), which are dependent on it. If a PSA and InfoPackages (R3TR ISIP) already exist for the 3.x DataSource, they are transferred to the migrated DataSource, along with the requests that have already been loaded. After migration, only the specifications about how data is loaded into the PSA are used in the InfoPackage.
You can export the 3.x objects, 3.x DataSource, mapping and transfer structure during the migration so that these objects can be restored. The collected and serialized objects are stored in a local table (RSDSEXPORT).
You can now transport the migration into the target system.
When you import the transport into the target system in the after-import, the system migrates the 3.x DataSource (R3TR ISFS) (as long as it is available in the target system) to a local DataSource (R3TR RSDS), without exporting the objects that are to be deleted. The 3.x DataSource, mapping (R3TR ISMP) and transfer structure (R3TR ISTS) objects are deleted and the related InfoPackages are migrated. The data in the DataSource (R3TR RSDS) is transferred to the PSA.

but in fact for test connection i was told "the test connection to the linked server succeeded".

In addition to Tracy's post we have to know those answers as well:
* what provider are you using for the connection
* what do you connect to
for example, if someone try to connect to oracle using sql server provider then several simple queries are going to work probably OK, but once you are trying to use T-SQL or any complex SQL query then the errors are starting.
please post the connection string (without the password!) + the query that you are trying to use.

I you have the access key - you can copy the 901 table and create a new table along with your required field. v/03
Or
in the access sequence for the condition type - add 1 more step and add your field.
ie 10 - 901
and in 20 - your required field

How to install datasource from R/3

Hii All,
Actually i m kind of new to BW.
we want to use one data source from R/3.Can anybody tell me how to recognize which is the correct datasource and its related infosource in BW.
we replicated the datasource from the source system(R/3).
but i am still not able to see all the data source from R/3. I know i am missing something.
Pls help.

Hi,
Try locating the new datasources in BW by RSA1->Modeling-> Source Systems-> Select your R3 system -> Right Click-> DataSource Overview -> Use "find" ( binocular) to find your datasource that you transferred from R3.

I'm not sure that I understand what you are saying. If you managed to purchase apps in two different country's stores, you must have a credit card in each country that is tied to a physical address in that country.
See if this makes any difference. Go the App Store and swipe to the bottom of the screen in the featured tab. Tap on your Apple ID and sign out. Then sign in again and see if that straightens things out for you.

I appreciate the advice, but I've discovered that my OS has to be updated first (was 10.6.8) and am in the process of upgrading to Yosemite. Then I will try to login to Creative Cloud on the Mac and from there navigate as you describe. I hope to report this worked!

How do you get an xml file from the PO Output for Communication report?

Can anyone tell me how you've created an xml output fil for this program? When I run it, the View XML button doesn't light up, and the output file is empty.
I can see the XML when I click the View Log button, but can't figure out how to save it so that the XMLP Desktop tool can load it properly.
If you can tell me how to create this file, I'd be very appreciative.

I can't see the xml in my log file. Maybe you have a different logging level. One issue I have had before is that the xml declaration had a strange character encoding. It should say something like: <?xml version="1.0" ?>. If it mentions anything about encoding you can remove it.
One of our developers wrote a custom process to write the xml to a table when the document was generated as we couldn't find any other way of doing it.
You can use the sample xml available from the data definition but this is missing fields.
Probably not much help...
