How to switch to maintenance mode in Webdispatcher

Please tell me how to switch to maintenance mode in webdispatcher by shell scripts.
I use Webdispatcher on HP-UX.

I was able to write a script to do this. Hopefully this helps others.
First, I am assuming the web dispatcher is running with basic authentication.
The script did something similair to what wget would do,
wget -user=<user> -pass=<password> http://<host>:<port>//wdisp/admin/icp/confirm.icp?what=change_maint&p1=1
The problem with this is that you get a confirmation page. This page has 3 form parameters, what, token, and p1. The token is what you will need to extract to make the next call.
You then make a call to http://<host>:<port>//wdisp/admin/icp/do_action.icp, passing post parameters, what = "change_maint", token = <what you got from the previous call, and p1 = "1". 1 Enters maintenance mode, and 0 Enters running mode.
I did this all with a PHP script, and the Snoopy class. It works very nicely.
We are also able to add and remove servers out of load balancing, using the same technique.

You need the Gaming APP for switching (not Afterburner): http://download.msi.com/uti_exe/gamingApp.zip
Afterburner is for manual overclocking (for advanced users) if not using the modes.

I looked around but could not find anything discribing a way doing this by applescript.

To do it with AS only, you need to simulate the "f" key with System Events:
tell application "System Events"
tell process "Adobe Photoshop CS3" to keystroke "f"
end tell
That will loop thought the screen modes as if you did it manually.
To run the JS from the other thread, you need to use the "do javascript" command. Remember to escape all the quotes in the JS:

The JS is the better solution if you wanted to skip directly to the desired screen mode without looping through the others.

I know Kinect v2 Depth sensor metrics as 50cm to 4.5m (Reliably) - 8m(max - can't track people).
Are there any way to switch Extended Depth mode like as Kinect v1 Depth sensor?
ex)　Kinect v1:
* 80cm to 4m (Default)
* 40cm to 3m (Near depth mode)
* 4m to 10m (Extended depth mode)

As far as I know this isn't available.
If you know of a windows function which can do this, you can try creating a DLL which will call it (using eVC++) and call that DLL from LV.

CS3 Shortcut: How to switch to Preview Mode without leaving the Text Frame

I saw a video were someone was typing and switched to the Preview Mode without leaving the Text Frame (you could still see the blinking cursor at the same spot). Also the Top Menu wasn't used. It must be a Keyboard Shortcut.
Does anyone know which one? Thanks!

That person had defined its own shortcut. You can do that under edit >
shortcuts > tools
I assigned ctrl-w on my mac.

My premier cs5 project is opening on desktop mode on my laptop..and not rendering the sequence on timeline..what to do?

One thing, your computer is under recommended spec for Premiere, let alone HD editing, so you will experience continued problems.
You didn't mention hard drive configuration. Premiere requires a dedicated hard drive for media. You might check to see if you even have enough hard drive space to work at all. This might be the issue with Premiere not being able to render.
One thing to try is to create a new sequence at 1280 X 720, then copy and paste the footage from your original sequence into the new one.
Another option to try is to start a new project and import the problem project into it.

Yep - to add a calendar takes some extra steps:
E.g.
1) Create a database which includes a table to store information such as:
- target for maintenance mode
- scheduled time for maintenance mode
- Comments
- Duration
- Reason
2) The Service Request fires off an Orchestrator runbook that stores this information in the database
3) Another Runbook that runs frequently that checks the database to see if it should kick off maintenance mode.
It isn't any easy solution for maintenance mode. It works better for more simplistic scheduling e.g. we do implement this kind of logic for environment refreshes and backups where we use the SM Portal and Orchestrator to log a date and then have another
runbook that runs at 2am every day to check if it should execute a backup \ refresh.

I live ir Europe and I bought Griffin FM transmitter for iPod Nano, but I don't know how to switch it's mode from US to Europe! Could someone please tell me because I can't find that information in user's manual!

I don't know where in Europe you are, but keep in mind that in some places (UK for example) the fm transmitters are currently illegal!
Sorry I don't know how to answer your question. I previously used an an iTrip with my old 3G iPod in europe and it worked fine.

View Planner 3.0 Switch to Flexibility Mode

I have a View Planner 3.0 appliance and when I go to create a New Workload or Run Profile it says I am in Benchmark Mode. I know this is new to 3.0 and to create custom workloads and profiles you need to be in Flexibility Mode. I must be missing something somewhere but I can't seem to find how to switch to Flexibility Mode.
Does anyone know where you need to that, I am guessing it is a command line option on the View Planner Appliance.

Thanks for the response and I did find the same thing after researching further. It is disappointing though that it was decided to lock that ability out. In 2.1 I ran only passive workloads and now that is not allowed with Benchmark mode. I will go through our partner channel to see if we can approval to allow Flexibility mode.

IPad in maintenance mode - Error 28 - does not let me do a reset

Hello @ all...
Yesterday, I updated my iPad (Series 1) to iOS 5.1 and tried to update the installed apps in the next step. I accidently tried to installed the new iPhoto App, that I had already purchased and iTunes told me - what was completely right - that my actual hardware was not compatible. So far so good. I clicked on "OK" to close the error message and instead of doing the rest of the sync process, everything stopped and my iPad switched to maintenance mode.
Some check-my-stuff-steps later, I tried to connect my iPad to iTunes and do a full reset in order to get the tablet back to work. The process started and after some minutes I got some error marked with number 28, which seems to be some kind of "unidentified hardware error". At next, I checked the Apple support pages to find some info on this...
I checked the malware/virus scanner... It's up to date and - for some testing - even switched off.
I checked the Windows installation... It's up to date and working fine.
I restarted the whole PC - nothing changed.
I waited for about 20 hours and tried to do it again... Nothing happend...
I still have the same problem and definitely no idea, what's the reason for this and what I can do to solve this issue. So my hopes lie on you guys...

Error 23, 28, 29: These errors may indicate a hardware issue with your device. Follow the steps in this article. Also attempt to restore while connected with the white USB Dock Connector cable that shipped with your device, on a known good computer and network to isolate this issue to the device. The MAC address being missing or the IMEI being the default value, (00 499901 064000 0), can also confirm a hardware issue. Out-of-date or incorrectly configured security software can also cause these errors.

If I'm following correctly, double tap the home button. Then slide the bar on the bottom of your screen to your right where you'll see the ipod icons and and a black icon on the left. If you see an image of a lock on the black icon, it means that you are locked in portrait orientation. Simply tap the icon to unlock it and that should free up landscape mode.
