    It's actually nice of ATT that they'd allow their employees to spend the whole day with family. The solution, of course, was to have the phone activated PRIOR to Christmas morning by doing it the day it was purchased...turn it on and call it while under the tree from another phone to surprise someone.

What would you recommend(it can be a software, a hardware or combination of both)? By the way, I also purchased an external DVD-RW(Asus SDRW-08D2S) separately.

    Just Google "convert hi8 to dvd" and you'll find a number of software/hardware combinations that will allow you to do what you want. One important piece of the puzzle is whether or not you still have access to the video recorder(s) that the movies were shot on.

    It is my second post and i couldnt find an answer to it. The problem ii want to display a float number with only the last three decimal after the comma. For example, float x = 23.445566 and i need to display only 23.445
    How can i do that ? here is the code:

    float result = 0.000F
    (float) (valu1/valu2)
    the result = 110.153846...
    And what i want to display is 110.153

    You're right - java.text.Decimal format uses round half even, java.util.Formatter uses round half up.
        Float f = 0.5F;
        System.out.printf("%.0f\n", f);
        System.out.println(new java.text.DecimalFormat("0").format(f));

    I plan to get the wife a Droid 2 for her birthday.  She is currently with another provider.  I have a simple 450 min + unlimited text plan with VZW for my son.  So I will change his plan to the 1400 min +unlimited text plan and then add a second line.  I will then be able to buy the new phone (for the 2yr activation price) (I hope)!
    My question is, if I change the plan, add the second line, and buy the phone before her birthday (so that I can wrap up the new phone as a gift), can I transfer her existing number over to the new phone after I give it to her.  If I have to transfer the number when I add the line or buy the phone, then there will be no surprise because her old phone will stop working.

    Yes, you can get a temporary number, activate the new phone with that, and then port her AT&T # to your Verizon account. It may have to be done within a certain time frame, but I'm not sure on that point, or how long you have if there is a restriction.
    You will be able to get the Droid 2 at the 2 yr activation price by adding a new line, YES! The Droid 2 will require an additional $29.99/month data plan. And depending on her AT&T plan, there will likely be an ETF to end her account there and port her number over to Verizon.
    You may already be aware of all these costs, but I'm mentioning them just in case.

    For sampled sound, the answer might be seen in [ this thread|http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10636576#10636576]. For MIDI it is different in that you will only be able to get it as sampled sound once it has been synthesized, and as I recently found out, to get the audio coming through the regular sound lines will take nothing less than a physcical or software 'audio loopback' being installed, on most PCs.
    Of course, if it is MIDI, you might just cheat by calculating a 'volume' from the note velocities in the MIDI score.

    Hi, I'm working on using the DAQ digital output to control the digital input of a DAC, and I used the Number To Boolean Array Function. VI to convert the number to a Boolean array. The maximum number should be 4096, therefore it should consist of 12 elements.
    For the description of the VI, it says Boolean array returns an array of 8, 16, 32, or 64 elements, depending on the number of bits in the integer. Therefore, I change the number of the channels in task to 16, but it still doesn't work. Any suggesitions are greatly appreciated.

    Write cannot be performed, because the number of channels in the data does not match the number of channels in the task.
    When writing, supply data for all channels in the task. Alternatively, modify the task to contain the same number of channels as the data written.

    Once you have the boolean array, you can resize it using array tools. For example you can use "reshape array" with a lenght of 12 to trim the array to 12 booleans elements (you can also use array subset).

    i also get more problems with this, when i change the throttle (0-100%) is doesn't do anything and my while loop also doesn't end anymore. this is just a small part of the complete program, maybe it's to heavy for my comp? (single core 1,6Ghz, 1,5gig ram)

    hi thanks for the reply, the answer you gave helped me out.
    now i've noticed that when i ad the the pid loop (even when nothing of it is connected) the program doesn't respond anymore. is this because of my computer? the while loops (both the normal and pid loop) are stopped by a single switch...
    i have uploaded my VI so maybe someone could check it out, be aware it's totally not finished ^^. if you delete the pid control you'll see what i mean.
