How to trigger different page formats dynamically in smartforms

Hi ,
I have a requirement in smartform,want to trigger different page formants based on country code  for ex if country code is ZA12  then pageformant should be DINA4 else page format should be LETTER.
Rgrds
Vasumathi

Hi,
According to me, you have to create 2 smartforms, one in DINA4 and other in LETTER format.
In your driver program, you have to maintain condtion depending on country code.
if country code = 'ZA12'.
call fm <--- DINA4 format
else.
call fm  <--- LETTER format
endif.

  • Different page formats in single Smartform

    Hello Experts,
    I have an requirement in my custom Smartforms. I want my first page as by default DINA4 page in where as from second onwards, I want DINA3 page format. Could it be possible? If yes, how I can achieve this? Thanks in advance.

    Hi Mayuresh,
    You can't give two page format in one smartform
    The page format are declared  in form attributes it will be same for all pages
    one thing you can do is change it to landscape or potrait.

    for this requirement,how to deal in Scripts and in Smart forms.

    With onli one form u cannot achieve this.. but u need to have two same forms .. one with Landscape orientation.. and second with Portrait orientation...
    ( Otherwise u can go for the SMARTFORMS , with smartforms u can achieve this in a single form )
    There is a way to have first page in landscape and second page in portrait.
    Use
    START_FORM
    END_FORM
    twice one form in each having different page setting(like landscape....)

  • How to trigger New page while using ALV with classes/oops?

    Hi All
    I am trying to print a report which has to show the data in two pages.
    I am using ALV with classes/oops.
    Though I am able to print the report but a new page is not coming. Whole of the data is coming in one single page.
    Please tell me as to how to trigger a NEW PAGE while using ALV with classes/oops.
    Please send some code samples also if available.
    Thanks in advance.
    Jerry

    using sort option you can do it. in case of grid/oo alv class ALV you can view that only in print mode/preview mode.
    in case of list you can view that directly.
    sort-fieldname = 'FIELDNAME'.
    sort-group = '*'  "triggers new page
    sort-up = 'X'.
    append sort to it_sort.

  • How to create new Page Format

    Hello
    i want to create new page format in sap script
    can any body guide to crate this & how to assign this
    thnks in advance

    Hi Nitin,
    You can create a new page format by transaction code SPAD. Here you will have to create a cutomised page format for ex: 'ZPAGE'.
    After this you will have to create a format type 'ZPAGE'. Assign the page format 'ZPAGE' to format type 'ZPAGE'. Pls make sure that both the names are identical.
    Once you do that you will have to assign the format type ZPAGE to the printer which you want to use.
    Now you can use this page format in your script.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to handle different date formats ?

    I'm currently writing an application that has to be compatible with different database backends.
    But I have some problems with the date/time fields when using Oracle as a db backend:
    After searching the forums, I found a solution for my "inserts" problem:
    // This is needed because otherwise the db session will be reset with each jdbc call,
    // ending the session and nullifying the ALTER SESSION command
    con.setAutoCommit( false );
    // set the date/time format to what we want it to be
    result = stmt.executeQuery("ALTER SESSION SET NLS_DATE_FORMAT = 'dd/mm/yyyy hh24:mi:ss'");
    res = stmt.executeUpdate(query);
    Where query is something like "INSERT INTO DATE_TEST VALUES ('val1',"val2','val3','25/03/2004 15:59:44');
    But when I want to retrieve this data, the timestamp is returned in another format:
    result = stmt.executeQuery("SELECT * FROM DATE_TEST");
    This gives me "2004-03-25 15:59:44.0" for the timestamp !
    when I run exactly the same query in the Oracle SQL*Plus console, I get the correct format:
    SQL> SELECT * FROM DATE_TEST;
    VAL1 VAL2 VAL3 TIME
    val1 val2 val3 25/03/2004 15:59:44
    SQL>
    I already tried the trick with the NLS_DATE_FORMAT before retrieving the data, but that doesn't seem to do anything.
    Any ideas how I can manipulate the format of a DATE field for retrieval ?
    Note:
    This is what I use:
    - Oracle 9i, Release 2 (9.2.0.1.0) for Windows (on windows 2000 Server)
    - ojdbc14.jar (Oracle thin jdbc driver)
    - j2sdk 1.4.2-04 for my application (currently running on windows server 2003 Enterprise, but is also tested on windows 2000, xp, linux, solaris)

    well, in fact I wrote a "dbAdapter" which I use to let my application communicate with a database.
    the method I use to retrieve data from the db just reads the resultset row by row, adding each row to a
    vector.
    each row is represented by a hashtable (colname - colvalue pairs).
    Vector result = dbadapter.queryDB("SELECT * FROM DATE_TEST");
    the method "query" looks like this:
    public Vector queryDB(String query) {
    Connection con = null;
    ResultSet result = null;
    ResultSetMetaData metadata = null;
    Vector tableData = new Vector();
    Statement stmt = null;
    try { // Attempt to load the JDBC driver with newInstance
    Class.forName(sDriver).newInstance();
    catch (Exception e) { // error
    logger.error(logPrefix + "Failed to load current driver.");
    if (psStackTrace != null)
    e.printStackTrace(psStackTrace);
    return tableData;
    } // end catch
    try {
    con = DriverManager.getConnection(sURL, sUsername, sPassword);
    // stmt = con.createStatement(); // MySQL
    stmt = con.createStatement(ResultSet.TYPE_SCROLL_SENSITIVE,ResultSet.CONCUR_READ_ONLY); // TODO-ORACLE
    catch (Exception e) {
    logger.error(logPrefix + "problems connecting to " + sURL + ":" + e.getMessage());
    if (psStackTrace != null)
    e.printStackTrace(psStackTrace);
    if (con != null) {
    try {
    con.close();
    catch (Exception e2) {
    return tableData;
    } // end catch
    // execute SQL commands
    try {
    result = stmt.executeQuery(query);
    // first display some metadata
    metadata = result.getMetaData();
    int numcols = metadata.getColumnCount(); // How many columns?
    result.last(); // Move to last row
    int numrows = result.getRow();
    Hashtable rowData = new Hashtable();
    String colValue = "", colName = "";
    Object o = null;
    for (int a = 0; a < numrows; a++) {
    result.absolute(a + 1); // go to row a in resultset
    for (byte b = 0; b < numcols; b++) {
    o = result.getObject(b + 1);
    colName = metadata.getColumnName(b + 1);
    if (o == null) {
    colValue = "";
    else {
    colValue = o.toString();
    rowData.put(colName, colValue);
    tableData.add(rowData.clone());
    rowData.clear();
    // return result
    return tableData;
    catch (Exception e) {
    logger.error(logPrefix + "problem with SQL sent to " + sURL + ":" + e.getMessage());
    logger.debug(logPrefix + "sql: " + query);
    if (psStackTrace != null)
    e.printStackTrace(psStackTrace);
    finally {
    try {
    stmt.close();
    catch (Exception e) {
    try {
    con.close();
    catch (Exception e) {
    } // end finally clause
    return tableData;
    then I display the data using this code (output goes to a logfile):
    for (int i = 0; i < result.size(); i++) {
    Hashtable tmpResultTable = (Hashtable) result.elementAt(i);
    Enumeration enum = tmpResultTable.keys();
    while(enum.hasMoreElements()) {
    String tmpKey = (String) enum.nextElement();
    String tmpValue = (String) tmpResultTable.get(tmpKey);
    logger.debug(logPrefix + "\t- " + tmpKey + "=" + tmpValue);
    It is correct indeed that I want to keep it as vendor neutral as possible, because other databases will
    be added in the (near) future (such as IBM's DB2)
    I already thought about formatting it using the SimpleDateFormat class, but then I have to rewrite most
    of the code in my dbAdapter, because it doesn't know anything about the field types.
    It just launches standard SQL queries and returns the result back to the requesting object

  • How can we change page format from A6 to A4 in smart forms

    Hi,
    Currently smart form is printing output in A6 page.Now my customer wants in A4 page.How can we change the page format from A6 to A4.Now the output should print in A4 page instead of A6 page.
    I checked the page format in form attribtes it is DINA4.Do in need to change the page format here.
    Is there any settings for this.Plase advice.I appriciate your guidence in this regard.Thanks in advance

    Hi Vijay,
       As the form is formated to A4, now the one A4 sheet and take a print out as well take a print with A6 sheet check the difference.  If the data is not printed in right way then u need to do alignment.
    If it's printing in the same as it used to be, then check the settings in SPAD.

  • How to create a page format at sapscript?

    Hi all,
    Please help me in creating a page format for sapscript.
    Thanks.

    Hi Deniz,
    Page format – Specifies the format in which the form needs to be printed. E.g. Dina4, US Letter etc. The page format is determined from spool administration table with transaction SPAD.
    When u create new SAP Script from SE71 , u get  2 tabs- adminstrative data and basic settings.
    when u select Basic settings tab , u have options to set page format.
    DINA4 is the very common page format we generally use.

  • How to invoke different pages/bounded task flows from Radio Group faces control ?

    Hi,
    I am quite new to JDeveloper and Java. Trying to call three different pages/bounded taskflows depending upon the each selection of radio buttons in Radio Group of 3 Radio buttons.
    Advance appreciation for hints/guide line for doing the same.

    Hi,
    I can't code it for you, but the way it works is that you create navigation cases to the pages and task flows. Then you set autosubmit=true for the radio group component and define a value change listener. The value change listener then would do the navigation following the navigation case names determined by the radio settings.
    To implement this I suggest to
    1. create a hidden command button with its action property pointing to the same managed bean handling the value change event (just double click the button to create the managed bean method)
    2. In the value change listener, change the navigation case returned by the action method
    3. In the value change listener you call
      ActionEvent ae = new ActionEvent(   (RichCommandButton)valueChangeEvent.getUIComponent().findComponent("button_id"));
      ae.queue()

  • How to use different video formats in the one timeline?

    Hi everyone,
    So I am in the middle of stringing together a rough cut for a surf flick/documentary shot in some remote Indonesian islands…
    Things so far are going well, but I am slightly confused regarding the best way to tackle a slight issue (hopefully slight!) of video format compatibility.
    The main shooting for the film was done with .mov video format and this has been imported/captured into final cut pro 7 using the correct settings, which has now formed the basis for my rough cut.
    However, I did a lot of filming with some other cameras (underwater, POV etc) and so also have some crucial footage in different formats that to my knowledge will not be compatible with the timeline that I have already created in FCP.
    The files are as following:
    AVI
    MOD
    MP4
    I am assuming the best way to go about things is convert all these different files into a compatible form that I can then drop straight into my existing timeline.
    Unfortunately, I am just beginning to learn the more techy aspects of editing and I don’t have the first idea of how to go about doing this…?
    Any helpful feedback would be greatly appreciated…
    Thanks in advance,
    m

    Although there are kinds of standard workflows for best quality in final product, it helps to know a bit more about your setup... what is your primary format? Without knowing that, the best way forward is to convert all of your footage to Apple ProRes. Especially the MP4 stuff. There are different ways about doing that, but I personally recommend Compressor. This can take some time depending on the amount and lengths of your shots, but it is well worth the process.
    Make sure you choose 48k / 16bit AIF for all of your shots that have audio. If some of your footage is 1080p and some is 720p, I personally leave that alone because when you have this type of a difference in footage, I like to set my sequence to 720p giving me the option to move or pan the 1080p clips inside of the 720p sequence. Final Cut Pro is very good at handling that difference.
    Hope the edit goes well; sounds like a nice project!
