How to update other field values when one field value is updating

I am creating one ADF page.
In one form suppose there are two fields ->
Bank A/C [a combo box or "select one choice"]
Balance [one Input Field]
Now, when I am selecting one value in "select one choice" it will automatically make a query in database and fetch and show the balance in the "Balance" input field.
How can I do that?
Please note that I have done my development by creating entity object>view object.

is it ADF Business Components that your use then or POJOs? In either way, you set the select component's autosubmit property to true.
If using ADF BC you can then create a method entry in the set<attributeName> VORowImpl file of the ViewObject that - whenever a new value is set - looksup the dependent value and sets it - call its set<attribute> method within this method.
Define an ID property on the selectOneChoice component and set the same value to the PartialTrigger property of the textfield that you want to update

Generally not a good idea. The Java runtime won't be able to load classes from those "inner" jars, you'd have to write your own classloader to do that. It's not a brilliant idea, generally, anyway, since the point of having lots of jars is to keep your application modular. Bundling them all together like that means you have to re-deploy the whole thing to fix, for instance, one small bug in one small library
If you really want to do this, there's an Eclipse plugin called FatJar, but I urge you to consider whether you really want to do it first.

After inserting into one field using LOV, how to populate other fields ?

while creating LOV at empno you can this query
select empno,ename,deptno from emp
and define return item for each column.
You can populate LOV manually at New_instance_item or Key_next_item
of item empno.

How to route traffic across subnets when one NIC is a hyper-V virtual switch?

Having a bit of a problem with a hyper-V environment which does not seem to route network traffic on two different subnets between each other.
If it were a purely physical server with two NICs and a gateway set traffic would automatically be forwarded between the two different subnets.
However when one of those NICs is a hyper-V virtual switch this simple routing no-longer seems to work and no traffic gets forwarded between subnets?
Situation is:
Hyper-V server with two NICs
NIC 1 = 192.168.0/24 - main Internal company network.
NIC 2 (hyper-V virtual switch.) = 192.168.1/24 - connects to ADSL internet router
Virtualized Domain Controller.
One or two virtualiszed NICs as necessary
How then does traffic get routed between these two subnets? If RRAS has to be configured to do this where is the best place to do it, on the hyper-V host or on the virtualized domain controller?

You can create an internal virtual switch and configure an IP for it (I assume it is 192.168.1.2/24) .
After you enable RRAS in hyper-v host there will be two gateways for different subnets .
" NIC 2 (hyper-V virtual switch.) = 192.168.1/24 - connects to ADSL internet router "
The problem is here ,if these VMs need to access internet .
So , these VMs can not configure their gateway same as the IP of internal virtual switch , you may set VM's gateway as the ADSL internet router's IP meanwhile add a static route entry for every VM .
Please refer to the Syntax :
route add -p 192.168.0.0 mask 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.2

     I am using Crystal Reports 11.0 and I am having the following issue:
I have a file that has the following information
IDNO            Date                Amount
12345            20070301        120.00
12345            20060101        60.00
I'd like to get the amount linked to the recent date of these transactions when I group by IDNO
I know how to get the recent date by grouped IDNO as below
=Maximum(, MASTERFILE.IDNO)
But I'd like to get the value of the amount when the date is recent.
Is there any way to do this??
Any help regarding this would be appreciated.

1. Group on IDNO
2. Group on Date - Descending
3. In Group Sort Expert, pick Top N based on Amount where N is 1.
4. Insert the fields you want in the detail section.
5. Select all fields in the detail section and right click and format objects and under the common tab check the box next to Suppress If Duplicated.
6. Now you have the amount of the most recent date for each IDNO.

How to update session state from form field values without submitting page?

I am new to Oracle APEX. I am using Oracle Apex 4.2 on Oracle 11g release 2. The problem is that when I am entering data on a form, when I enter a value in one field and move to the next field, how can I use the value of first field in the validation procedure of next field? I know that when we enter data in fields, the session state is not updated with these values until we submit the page... right... but I have seen that if there is a control of List box type, then Apex gives an option "Action When List changes" where we can choose option to update corresponding session state field with the value of list box item, without submitting the page.
Now my questions is why this option is only available for List box items? why not for other item types like Text box, Check box,... ? can someone please help me with this?
(the issue with update of session state depending on page submitting, is that we need a complete network round trip from client to server in order for it. However if we can update session state variables without submitting page, then we can avoid this network traffic).
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Create a dynamic action on change and run a PL/SQL process there with the following code:
BEGIN

This will set the session state without submitting the form.

How to copy the corresponding values other fields in Search help

My selection screen contains 5 fields. three are obligatory parameters, one date field and one select option.
All are from the same table . I had created search help for one field .
when I'll click the hit list of the search help I want the corresponding values to get copied to other fields in the selection screen, as my hit list contain values for all those fields.
How Can I copy those values.
Please help me on this.

How to update dataobject via EMS so that some fields remain the old values?

I use EMS/JMS to upsert my dataobject. While it works well for inserting a new row, it has a problem in update. For example, I want to update only one field in the dataobject and need other fields remain intact. I've tried to 1) exclude those fields from the XML payLoad, 2) include those fields with empty values. None of them works. For boolean type, it will set those fields to default value ("false"). For other data types, the update message doesn't get thru, i.e. no update is done. An example XML payLoad is as followed:

When you say "Primary Key" of the dataobject do you mean at the EMS queue configuration "Source to Data Object Field Mapping" check a field as "Key"? If so, yes I have checked a non-nullable field as "Key". I don't know how to set a primary key at the data object layout definition level though.

How do I use switch and case statements to fill more than one other field?

I'm new to the community.
I'm trying to make an existing form more user friendly for my coworkers. I want to use a switch and case approach in a drop-down list field so that the selection fills two seperate other fields with different info related to the selection.
I can already do this with one field, but if I add a second target field under an existing case the text doesn't appear there when I make the selection from the dropdown.
Basically, I'm asking if I can do this:

How to update fields in the target table in correspondance with the source file values

Environment: win7, SQL server 2008 R2
Application: Microsoft Management SQL Studio 2008 R2, Business Intelligence 2008 - SSIS
SSIS competency level: Novice
Problem: I have been trying to update some of the fields in the destination table,student table, in reference to data set in the staging table and ssn table. I was able to insert/load new data to the destination using look up transformation
while the driver is ssn (data mapping) but i couldn't know how to update some of the fields in the student table while keeping the orignal pn_id of both tables(ssn and student tables), because pn_id already exists in the SSN table and student table. There
are other records also associated with the pn_id so I am not allowed to update the pn_id in the destination tables. For example,

Viewobject transcient attribute update value base on other field

Dear All,
I have a viewobject with a transcient attribute which is calculated based on some other attributes queried from the DB. I have set the default value of the transcient field using the express:
adf.object.viewObject.getFTType()
and the getFTType() in the viewObjectImpl will return a string base on other fields' values;
Then I test it in the AM Model tester and it looks fine. However, when I drag this VO to a Table in the page, the transcient field column always showing the same value on every rows instead of showing different values base on the other fields on each row.
I've added a button to print the selected row values in the table and after I click on the button, the transcient field column is updated according to my selected row other fields' values and it updates the value for the whole column instead of only the selected row.
I wonder if there is sth wrong I did? Thanks a lot.

How to diable only one field enabled and other fields disabled for one user group?

Hi,
I have a form contains many fields. A group of users can add items using that form.
As per the user requirement I have created a filtered view and that filtered view can be seen by some other sharepoint user group but as per their further requirement the new sharepoint user group is only allowed to update Remarks field. All other fields
should be disabled for them.
In my idea, I have to create multiple forms and in one of it except Remarks field all should be disabled but I am unable to assign multiple forms to a single list.
Or how to make Remarks field enable to this user group and for other admin user group all fields could be enabled.
Hope I have expressed my question correctly.
Any solution would be appreciated.

There is no Out of the Box way to set permissions on each column, primarily due to the performance impact. The following thread provides some options,
