How to use a current delta Infosource to load a new Infoprovider

Hi everybody,
We have had the 0FI_GL_4 delta Datasource working since several years ago. Currently the information is loaded into a General Ledger ODS and it is working fine.
Now, because of new requirements for the BCS component, a new ODS was created and new fields were added to that Infosource. We want to load the new ODS using the delta load and the initializations already created. The question is: how could we use the same delta load? What is the right procedure to start? We have thought about making a full load in the new ODS but how can we be sure the new ODS is in the right point to use the same load that is working currently for the first ODS? May be we have to stop temporarily (while the full load is done)the delta queue but we don't know how to do this for the 0FI_GL_4 Datasource.
We have BW 3.5 and R/3 4.6C
Thanks a lot for your ideas.

Michael,
I encountered the Timestamp datatype with a client who was using a enteprise application where that vendor used a Timestamp column as a way to track delta changes. btw: this datatype was developed in Sybase to to used in replication and hence SQL Server inherited it. It is "depreciated" in SQL Server BUT SSIS supports it. So much for the history lesson...
In order to "see" the timestamp column (DI does not even see these columns in its metadata) and to use it for CDC (change data capture) I created a view on the source system side for each table that contained Timestap columns. I basically created a column in the view that was a converted integer, i.e. CONVERT(INT,column_TS)   AS Column_TSi, and then imported the resulting column to load from the source system and to use for CDC.
My client hosts applications so there are dozens of source systems with hundreds of tales with a Timestamp column. The "trick" works well.

  • How to use the current connection when calling db procedure ?

    dear all,
    Am using Jdevleoper 11.1.1.3 ,
    I have a java class that call a database procedure , now everything is going fine with me but a bit slow bcoz am openning a new connection I think it would be definitely faster if am using the current connection
    so how can i re-write my code so i can use the current connection istead of defining a new connection to the DB :
    public void DeleteApp (int PAppNo){
    String username,password,thinConn;
    username = "ACC";
    password = "ACC";
    thinConn = "jdbc:oracle:thin:@..."
    try {
    DriverManager.registerDriver(new OracleDriver());
    Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection(thinConn, username, password);
    CallableStatement cs = conn.prepareCall(" { call myprocedure(?,?,?) } ");
    cs.setInt(1,PAppNo);
    Thanks for all,
    Lama

    Delta,
    You shound NOT be doing JDBC calls from your UI project. You should put the code as a service method in your application module, expose the service method to the client, and then call it through the binding layer from your UI http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/web.1111/b31974/bcservices.htm#sm0212
    thx John & timo but u always post the same reply at the same time for my questionsTimo and I have been around long enough that we recognize the questions that have been posted 9,461,293,811 times before and know the stock answers, and know where in the documentation the answers are given. As you appear to be new to ADF, I'd strongly recommend reading the Fusion Developer's Guide (skim it once and then read in detail the parts that interest you). As I've said before, so many of the basic (and not-so-basic) concepts are covered in there. Once you've skimmed it in enough detail, then the next time you have a problem, you might not know the answer, but you'll remember, "ah, I think I read something about that before, let me check..."

    Thank you.
    And another question if the data is already there in the child table if i try to load alone it must delete the old data in the child tablee and need to get load the new data and
    How to do this ?
    Arunraj Kumar
    You can do that with an IF EXISTS condition
    IF EXISTS (SELECT 1
    FROM YourChildTable c
    INNER JOIn @temptable t
    ON c.Bkey1 = t.Bkey1
    AND c.Bkey2 = t.Bkey2
    DELETE t
    FROM YourChildTable c
    INNER JOIn @temptable t
    ON c.Bkey1 = t.Bkey1
    AND c.Bkey2 = t.Bkey2
    INSERT INTO YourChildTable
    where Bkey1,Bkey2 etc forms the business key of the table

  • How to use a substitution variable in a load rule?

    I need to use a substitution variable in a load rule in a column, as I will receive a parameter to fix the Month and Year values within the data loading, could somebody tell me if this is possible. I put an expresion "&Yearproc" in the column value but it is not working.

    If you're a member of ODTUG (or even if not, you can sign up for an associate membership for free) you can download Glenn's presentation from 2009 Kaliedoscope "Little Used Features of Essbase (Like Data Mining and Triggers)" -- there is a section in that presentation on substitution variables -- he does a really good job in showing how this works.
    Go to: www.odtug.com, then Tech Resources, then Essbase/Hyperion, and search for Schwartzberg. Currently it's the ninth presentation on the list -- I think this changes based on popularity of downloads.

  • How to use batch files to send the load from ODC to UCM?

    Hello all.
    We're trying to do this along this week and, until now, we couldn't figure out how to use batch files containing metada on ODC and commit the output files to UCM.
    So these are our specs:
    VM 1
    ODC - 10gR3
    OS - Windows XP 32 bits SP3
    DB - Oracle DB 11.2
    VM 2
    No ODC
    UCM 11.1.1.6
    OS - Enterprise Linux Enterprise Linux Server release 5.5 (Carthage)
    We've opened a ticket with Oracle Support to know how we should do this. The number is SR 3-6108348211.
    Let me try to explain what we want to do:
    1 - we have a batch file with all metadata of many files from UCM
    2 - we want to use this file in ODC, so the application will convert the images and commit them to UCM
    3 - we should see all these files, their metadata, thumbnails and related content in UCM
    4 - this is a batch file example we want to send to ODC:
    @Properties LocalData
    IdcService=CHECKIN_UNIVERSAL
    dRevLabel = 1
    primaryFile=/tra/Relatorio_UHPF-03-04-2008-M-RL-EA.pdf
    dDocName=TRA_33
    dDocTitle=UHPF-03-04-2008-M-RL-EA
    dSecurityGroup=MAM_TRA
    dDocType=Document
    dDocAuthor=luis.neotropical
    dInDate=14/05/08
    xC_CLASSIFICACAO=EA - Educação Ambiental
    xC_DATA=01/04/08
    xC_DATAVALIDADE=30/04/08
    xC_LOCALIZACAOFISICA=N/D
    xC_USUARIO_DEP=LUIS FERNANDO DA CAMARA
    xC_TIPO=RL - Relatório
    xC_USINA=UHPF - USINA HIDRELÉTRICA PASSO FUNDO
    xC_FICHA=MAM - Relatorios Ambientais
    xC_IDDOCMAN=TRADocID=157
    xC_IDANEXODOCMAN=TRAFileID=33
    xC_DESTINOINICIAL=Tractebel
    xC_ORIGEM=Neotropical
    xC_FORMATODOCUMENTO=Digital
    xC_GENERODOCUMENTO=
    xC_DOCPRINCIPAL=Sim
    @end
    <<EOD>>
    5 - So, when we use this batch file on ODC, the file (or image) will be converted, all metadata attached and then sent to UCM.
    But we don't know how to do the link between ODC and UCM. The Oracle Support says it is necessary to do some customization. In the books I could not find any info about how to do, just generic information or how to use ODC.
    Is there a way (without customization) to do that? Can anyone give us a step-by-step guide?
    Thanks for all help and guidance.
    Fernando

    What is the one-sentence requirement or issue you're trying to solve?
    If you only want content to be converted to pdf, then you should already have that with your items checked into UCM (if you have IBR enabled).
    if you really want to feed content into ODC using a batchfile, my first thought would be to create a transformation utility/app that will convert your batchfiles to the expected ODC import server folder job format. then you'll have to move or map the content to match.
    Again, without knowing the exact issue/business requirement you're trying to work through, I'd say a redesign of your ingestion process may be in order.
    If you feed content directly into ODC through any supported ODC method (watch folder, email, scanner, fax, etc), then you'll be able to use everything ootb as you'll be able to auto-commit directly into UCM or add an indexing step and manual commit to UCM.
    ODC is basically a front end for indexing and extra ingestion options to your content repo.
    IPM is basically the same, but it includes some extra process-related details (process metadata, process integrations/bpel/bpm, other system integrations/ebs/crm, etc). I don't feel that IPM would help with the transformation-specific question you've put out there.

  • How to use the Observer when a page loads

    Anybody know how to use the
    Spry.Utils.addClassName('DivName','selected') and then fire the
    Spry.Utils.addClassName with onLoad?
    I am loading a page with the selector utils in it into a div
    and then I think I must need an Observer to get the
    Spry.Utils.addClassName to work when this page loads in a div.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Bisser.

    I added Spry.Utils.addClassName('DivName','selected') in the
    Script after the constructor and after the effects and it works
    fine. Thank you for your help to get me going.
    Well after the fact, this solution was a problem because it
    loads the selector each time I loaded the file.
    kinblas had the correct answer that I was looking for.... as
    it loads the selector as a 3rd argument.
    ie:
    Spry.Utils.updateContent('mainDIV','/menu.php', function() {
    Spry.Utils.addClassName('DivName','selected'); });
    Thanks to both of you for your continued support.
    Bisser.

  • How to use EXIT_SAPLEINS_001 for delta with 2LIS_02_SCL datasource ?

    Hi,
    I'm facing a problem using 2LIS_02_SCL: the field MCEKET-WAMNG is not populated during delta extraction (it is populated correctly when I fill setup tables).
    I have been told that I should use customer exit EXIT_SAPLEINS_001 in order to fill MCEKET-WAMNG at event ML u2013 delivery, because 2LIS_02_SCL does not takes this event into account (only MA, MB, MC and MD which can be verified in LBWE Events), this field is not passed to BW in delta.
    I need help to implement this solution.
    An example with ABAP code will appreciated.

  • How to use the current view in script logic - %DIMENSIONNAME_SET% not work

    Hello,
    I have the requirement to use the values from the current view in the script logic. User would like to use the members which were selected from the current view in the calculation.
    We are using SAP BPC 7.0 SP06
    I have prepared the following scrpit:
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET TIME=$YEARS001$.NA
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET ACCOUNT=BAS(PLVEH_EXP)
    *SELECT(%CBU%,ID,BUSINESSAREA,[ID]='%BUSINESSAREA_SET%'")
    *SELECT(%CIO%,ID,INTERNALORDER,[ID]='%INTERNALORDER_SET%'")
    *RUNALLOCATION
    *FACTOR=USING
    *DIM BUSINESSAREA WHAT=BANA;WHERE=%CBU%;USING=<<<
    *DIM INTERNALORDER WHAT=IONA;WHERE=%CIO%;USING=<<<
    *DIM INDICATORS WHAT=INVEHPRI;WHERE=INPXQ;USING=INVEHQUA
    *ENDALLOCATION
    I have read in the sdn that it is possible to get the current values using %DIMENSIONNAME_SET% variable and use it but it returns all the members that were selected in the datapackage.
    I would like to know if there is any special consideration regarging the use of variable or if there is another way to solve it.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    If you want the code to be executed for the current view selected, you can place the code in Default logic which executes the logic for what ever current view values you send the data through Input schedule.
    The key word you have mentined is for script running through Data Manager which gets the value selected through user promt.
    Hope this helps,
    Regards,

  • How to Use another JSF page that I load by XMLHttpRequest?

    Hi everyone, I'm a newbie of JSF and curisous about how to load page content seperately by AJAX.
    I saw example of Java Blue Print. It's load some data to use in page. What I want is to load another JSF page when click a link or button, (Like include another page). And work with functions privoided by loaded JSF Page.
    My example is, In a main page. I request a JSF page and set it into a div layer.
    var requestURL = "/admin/customer/customer-list-body.faces";
    var content = postDataWithoutContent(requestURL);     divContent.innerHTML = content;
    All JSF components are required under <f:view>, thus action of form is set as "action='"/admin/customer/customer-list-body.faces'"
    But my page is main.jsp. Each time I click command button in customer-list-body.faces, the url will change to customer-list-body.faces, I want to request and hold in main.jsp.
    What can I do then? Any advices?

    Hi,
    the list doesn't seem to be your problem. You need to track down the illegal argument exception. Once you have that sorted out, expose the method on the AM so it gets shown as a method binding. The return values then could be picked up in a managed bean to create the select Item list

  • How to use Time Machine before and after installing a new hard drive

    So basically I'm buying a new hard drive for my Macbook pro and I have a lot of files on my computer that I would like to save. I have never used Time Machine before so I need help on how to set it up before AND after installing the harddrive so my files get transferred onto the new hard drive. Thanks in advance

    wjosten wrote:
    Me, I would never use Time Machine to do this. What I'd suggest you do is get an exterior enclosure for your new drive. Then use either Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper to clone your existing drive to your new drive. Once done, verify your clone is bootable & all of your data present. Then swap drives & use your old drive for Time Machine backups(after erasing it). Then get another drive & exterior enclosure to regularly clone your new drive to.
    Unless he was swapping for a lower capacity HDD or to a lower capacity SSD, then the old drive would make a lousy Time Machine disk.  However, whenever I swap out a disk I do exactly what you do.  CCC to get the ol drive onto a new one.  Test by starting up to the new (but still external drive).  Then replace the internal drive.
    I usually just sell the old drive on eBay.  My Time Machine backup is always 2X the size of the internal drive, which I believe is a bit above recommendations, but works for me.  The price of large external drives is almost the same as smaller internal ones.

  • How to use Time Capsule to tranfer files to a new MBP?

    Hey guys,
    I have recently sold my old MBP, and had all my files backed up with Time Capsule. Now, I want to transfer my files to the my new MBP. What is the best way to do this? What cable can I use? I'd appreciate any information. Thanks.

    This may help... Have you already created a user account on the new Mac? Or have you not yet started it? It makes a difference as to what approach you take as described below.
    *_Migrating User Data From One Mac to Another_*
    *Wirelessly or Directly Connected?* (For AirDisk Users)
    Bear in mind that for Time Machine to successfully migrate user data, the backup disk must be accessed in the same manner in which the backups were originally created. Otherwise, the backups may not be visible for migration.
    In other words, if backups were performed wirelessly to a hard disk attached to an Airport device, then the restoration will need to be performed either wirelessly, or, for faster speeds, via ethernet between your Mac and the Airport device. On the other hand, if backups were performed with the hard disk attached directly to your Mac, then the restoration will need to be performed with the hard disk connected directly to your Mac You cannot perform backups via one means and be able to access them via another means.
    *Using Time Machine Before Initial Launch of New Mac*
    Before starting the new Mac for the first time, attach the hard disk that contains the Time Machine backups from the old Mac. (For Time Capsule/AirDisk users: If you will be attempting this wirelessly, ensure that you are in range of your Airport wireless device. Alternatively, for faster migration of large quantities of data, connect your Mac via ethernet to your wireless device.)
    Procedure:
    Startup the new Mac and begin the setup process. You will initially see the video introduction.
    At “Welcome” select your country and then preferred keyboard.
    At “Do You Already Own a Mac?” you are asked “Would you like to transfer your information?”
    +from another Mac+
    +from another volume on this Mac+
    +from a Time Machine backup+
    +Do not transfer my information now+
    Select “from a Time Machine backup” and click “Continue”.
    At “Select a Backup Volume” choose your Time Machine backup disk and click “Continue”. (If you are attempting the migration wirelessly, then click “Join...” and select your network first.)
    At “Transfer Your Information” check all the categories you wish to migrate over. If you wish your Mac to be in the same state as your last backup, then check everything. If, however, you are only interested in transferring one user account, then click the little disclosure triangle next to "Users". A list of all the previous users will appear. Just uncheck the user accounts you do NOT wish to migrate over. In other words, have only the desired account checked.
    Give the installer time to calculate sizes.
    Once that is complete, the “Transfer” button will become active and you can click it.
    After the migration, verify the registration information, click “Connect” and you are done.
    Once the migration is complete use Disk Utility to repair any permissions issues.
    *Using Time Machine After Initial Launch of New Mac*
    If you happened to initially set up the new Mac using a different username than the username on the account you wish to migrate, then skip to “Attach the hard disk containing...”.
    If, on the other hand, it is the same username as the account you wish to migrate over, then do the following:
    Go to System Preferences --> Accounts.
    You may need to unlock the lock in the lower left to make changes.
    Below the pane on the left click "+" and create a brand new Administrator User account on the Mac with a completely unique name - not the name of your own User account.
    Now logout of the account you are currently in and log back in using the new Admin account you just created.
    Attach the hard disk containing the previous Macs' Time Machine backups to the new computer. (For Time Capsule/AirDisk users migration will be much faster if you connect your Mac directly to the router via ethernet. [See “Wirelessly or Directly Connected” above])
    Now go to Applications --> Utilities --> and launch Migration Assistant.
    At the welcome dialogue click "Continue." You may be required to enter your Admin password.
    For Migration Method chose "From a Time Machine backup or other disk". (Do not choose…
    "Full System Restore" unless it is exactly the same Mac you are restoring to.)
    At “Select the System to Transfer” choose the hard disk containing the previous Time Machine backups and click “Continue”. Give Migration Assistant some time as it connects to the drive and scans the disk for eligible data to migrate.
    At “Select User Accounts to Transfer” put a check beside each account you would like migrate over to the new Mac.
    At “Select the Items to Transfer” you can choose to migrate “Applications” over. If an application already resides on your new Mac, only the newest version will be transferred. Additionally, other “Files and Folders” that resided at the top level of your old Mac can be transferred at this point as well. Files from the “Library” folder of your old Mac will always be transferred over unless you uncheck the other two options.
    Click “Continue”.
    At “Select Computer Settings to Transfer” choose which settings you would prefer transferring to the new Mac. If you want a completely fresh system to start with, then do not check any of these options. This can be helpful if your previous system was experiencing issues.
    Click “Transfer”.
    If you have already created a User Account on the new Mac and it happens to be named the same as the User Account that is being migrated then Migration Assistant will report,
    +"There is an existing user account with the same name as an account you are transferring."+
    At that point, you will be able to choose one of the following:
    +• Rename the user account you are transferring+
    +• Replace the existing user account with the one you're transferring+
    +• Do not transfer this user account+
    If you wish the new Mac environment to be exactly the same as your old Mac, then avoid selecting “Rename the user account...”. Rather, select “Replace the existing user account...”. It will not be deleted but saved in a new folder labeled “Deleted Users” found in the main Users folder. Click “Next”.
    At this point the transfer will begin with a bar displaying the progress. Once completed click “Quit”.
    *Full Backup After Migration to New Mac*
    Bear in mind that in all cases Time Machine will not continue to backup the previous Macs’ backup sets but will perform a new full backup. This is normal. Time Machine will resume incremental backups after the full backup has completed. To view previous backups, Control-click or right-click the Time Machine icon in your Dock or Option-click the Time Machine menu extra and Choose "Browse Other Time Machine Disks," then select the previous Mac’s backup set. You will enter Time Machine and be able to browse your previous back ups and restore files. [http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1338]

  • How to use spare part from damaged equipment to a new equipment in SAP

    Hello Gurus,
    Sometimes we use a spare part from a discarded equipment to make the present equipment functional. How would this be documented in SAP?
    Thanks & Regards
    Raghuvarun

    Hi Raghuvarun,
    There will be several methods depending upon the your final objectives of such requirement.
    In case you want to just maintain the spare part and the Equipment from which it has been removed, then use Catalog Codes. In the Object part Catalog maintain the Spare part in the Code part and the Equipment number in Item Text.
    This method is hassle free.
    In case the requirement's like physically identifying the spare-part etc., then the process would be very complex. You need to opt for not only Material Codes but also the Serialization of all these spare parts.
    So you need to first consolidate your objectives of the requirement you have asked for. Then post a Query in detail explaining the objectives.
    In most of the cases such requirements are satisfied with ideas like the 1st case I proposed, i.e., Catalogs & Codes.

  • How to use cam on sites and watch youtube with new OS X Lion?

    I downloded the new OS X Lion, and everything is great with it,besides the fact that my cam wont work on sites like Dailybooth or stickam. And i cant watch Youtube videos becuase it tells me that i have to downlad adobe flash and i did but that still didnt work.
    how do i fix this?

    I don't know about the Flash, but your camera, which appears to be USB and therefor requires drivers, probably does not have drivers compatible with Lion, or you have to download them.

  • How to use audit command to track the old and new values by any DML?

    Hi,
    I want to track all the changes done by any DML. I also want to capture who did it, when it was done and where it was done.
    Or is it possible to capture the user realted details in CDC feature of Oracle 10g?
    Which will be the best possible solution?

    You can Capture DML statements fired on a database by the following way, too.

  • Which adobe to use, I was told to down load the newer version and the add/remove folder says I have 10.1.82.76, is tehis the one I need?

    The latest update from Firefox said I HAD to update Adobe or there would be a security problem. I replied to the answer about the edit bar, but have not received a reply:
    This is what I wrote:
    Thank you for helping me. I had no idea how to do that. Now if you can tell me about the adobe issue I would so appreciate it. I do use Firefox and I went to add/remove to see which version and could not find the Adobe 10.1.82.76 it said I had??? Then I just went back and it is there. I was told I HAD to update the Adobe because of a security issue, but when I went to add it, it said warning the program I was about to add might be dangerous????? So I have it on the down load thing, I have not told it to run, but it shows up in my add/remove folder and I am SO confused??? Do I need to run it? I went to the adobe site and found it when I could not find the "edit" button. I am not sure if I have the right version. It said certain versions would not run with Firefox and I do not want to mess up my computer.
    Please advise
    Sheila
