How to use median in a report

Hello guys,
I am trying to calculate Median of the salary for all the employees in a particular year.
So, I expect just using the formula Median(Salary) won't work.
Can anyone please help me telling what to do?
Thanks,
Bhaskar

Hi Bhaskar,
At universe level, change the projection function of Salary to None. And in Web i try using median, it will give you correct result. For calculating median, please make sure that Salary values are in ascending order.

  • How to use lexical parameter in report

i want to use lexical parameter in report and pass parameter from form how it is possible in detail
    A.R

    Hi,
typically you fill your lexical paramter in the after-paramform-trigger out of the values of your bind-parameters (giving end users directly control over lexical parameters might not be a good idea). Inside PL/SQL a lexical parameter is referenced like bind parameters with ":". In the query it's referenced via "&" and represents a part of the query.
    A simple example.
    - p_deptno as bind parameter
    - p_where as lexical paramter
    - end user choose value for p_deptno (10,20,... or nothing)
    - Trigger: if :p_deptno is not null then
    :p_where := 'WHERE deptno = :p_deptno'
    else
    :p_where := null;
    end if;
    - Query select ... from emp &p_where

  • How to use Value Variable in Report Painter Column defined as Formula

    Hi Gurus,
In report painter, how can I add one field (exchange rate) in selection screen, so that user can provide the exchange rate to be used, then execute the report, the exchange rate will used to multiple local currency amount.
The reason for this is we want use provided exchange rate to convert the amount from once currency to the other currency.
Alternatively I am studying the functionality of "Value Variable" and found that I can perform the task from this. I have created the value variable but when I am using the variable in Report Painter columns as "&ZVALVAR", system is giving me error. I read the help and it states that use the variable with "&" and do it as it is mentioned.
Can anybody suggest what I need to do to make it workable.
    Thanks

I did try using the presentation variable, but that does not work too. I am setting session variable in the dashboard prompt (select 'request variable'). When I use presentation variable, it hard codes the value of the variable name.
    sql is
    select date from work_order where facility = @{p_facility}
    the physical log sql is
select date from work_order where facility = 'p_facility'

  • How to use the repository; uploading reports from DEV to PROD...

    Hello...
I'm fairly new to CR-XIr2 (SP3) but have worked with Crystal Reports since v6.0.  I'm trying to figure out how to create a dynamic parameter list that someone can select an item from, which will get sent as an input parameter to the SQL Server 2005 stored proc that populates the report.  I'm also trying to figure out if there's an easy way to copy reports from a DEV environment into PROD.  We have BOE.
Basically, I would like to find out resources online or in books on how to use the BOE repository for dynamic and/or cascading parameters (i.e. pulling a list of text values & their associated IDs from a lookup table that won't be used in the report), images (i.e. corporate logo), etc..  What complicates things for us is that IT is now requiring us to use a DEV environmentit was really easy when we had unlimited access in PROD!  We also need to put together a process where reports & other repository objects that are copied from DEV to PROD access the correct db, etc.  (Crystal Report in DEV accesses DEV db/repository/etc.when copied to PROD it accesses PROD db/repository/etc.)
Anyway, I'm just looking for info on where to begin--whether it be a book, a BO/SAP knowledge base article, in-class training from a specific company, etc.  Thanks!

    Hey Markian,
Can you let me know the process you have followed to migrate from Dev to Prod.
We can migrate all the reports and objects and database fields through migrate wizard where you can import all the objects, reports and database fields and users to production enterprise.
Just follow the above scenario and let us know if you are facing any error.
Try  publish the reports using import wizard and run it in the crystal designer.

  • How to use awr and addm reports

    Hi,
to use awr and addm reports does we should have separate license or oracle server software license is enough.
which tool do we use to read this awr and addm reports in real time.
    please give your valuable suggestions.
    thank you!

Seeing as you seem to want to continue the discussion on someone else's old thread rather than your own one
    AWR files in oracle
If i don't then it is difficult to find the queries thata re related to my application as most of those are the sysqueries, i just need schema specific queries in the SQL ordered by Elapsed Time section. Perhaps you are using the wrong tool?
A system-level report like AWR or ADDM is no use to you as it seems your application code is not significant at the system level.
You might want to consider tracing the sessions from your application using client_id or module to identify sessions belonging to your application then possibly use TRCSESS and TKPROF.

  • How to use special characters in Report Builder

    Hi everyone,
I wonder if you guys can help me. I'm trying to change our Invoice hearders from English to Portuguese. Eg, I've changed this English heading
("FOR ACCOUNT QUERIES CONTACT") to this Portuguese heading ("PARA CONSULTAS DE CONTA CONTACTE"). So when I'm done, my entire invoice will be in Portuguese. This works fine, until I get special characters in some of the Portuguese translations. I can copy and paste the translations with special characters into Report Builder. But when I print the invoice in Oracle Apps (with a PDF output), the special characters get replaced with a "?".
    Here's an example:
< "Line No" should read "Linha nº" but it prints out as "Linha n?" > Does anybother know how I can resolve this? I'm using Report Builder: 10.1.2.3.0 on Oracle Apps: 11.5.10.2 and RDBMS : 10.2.0.4.0
    Thank you in advance

    Hi,
You need to have Portuguese font installed on your machine, if you are running the report from your machine or else if you are running the same from report server then the font has to be there on the server font dir.

  • Question on how to use a variable in report object's horizontal formula to shift back and forth at refresh interval.

    Hello All;
I have an SSRS Report that displays some slider objects. The report auto-refreshes every 5 minutes.
This report is displayed on a big screen TV and I want to shift the images back and forth every time it refreshes to prevent possible burn-in on the screen.
I see you can use a formula on the Horizontal position of objects, and I think a variable that gets added 10 and then subtracted by 10 every refresh could be used to display the objects in different positions each iteration, but I don't know how to do that
in SSRS. I have read up on variables, and I think I need a global variable, but not sure how to update it on each refresh iteration.
I read the links on using Silverlight to shift things, but that adds a whole other level of complexity.
I could even do something in the DB and then pull that into the formula field if needed.
    Thanks in advance.

  • How to use formula in WebI report

    hi guys
i have done a webI report in which i have company code yearly sales and i want to see it quaterly. Please guide how to do this with formula.
    Thanks

A lot of this depends on how your universe is set up.  The easiest way would be to have the universe updated to include "Automatic Date Hierarchy" for the sales date.  This would give you Year, Quarter, and Month breakdowns of the dates that you could then use to split up the data for your report.
To do this in WebI, you would create a formula using the Quarter() function to get the quarter of the sales date field.

  • How to Use Backslah() in webi report formula

    Hi
My client is using web intelligence XI 3.1 SP2. I have a formula in a report as:
    =Sum(If([Level 08 Node] InList ("Correlation & Index";"EM\FX Option JV";"Short Dated Exotic Options";"Long Dated Options";"Short Dated Vanilla Options";"Options");[SR MTD];0))
Everyime I save the the formula I am loosing the "\" in the "EM\FX Option JV", so the formula becomes:
    =Sum(If([Level 08 Node] InList ("Correlation & Index";"EMFX Option JV";"Short Dated Exotic Options";"Long Dated Options";"Short Dated Vanilla Options";"Options");[SR MTD];0))
how can I use the backslash in the above formula , I appreciate that it is a special character.
    Many Thanks

    Thanks Amit,
that solved the problem. I also did the following that worked but for simplicity and ease of reading I will use the double backslah approach.
    =Sum(If([Level 08 Node] InList ("Correlation & Index";"Short Dated Exotic Options";"Long Dated Options";"Short Dated Vanilla Options";"Options") Or ([Level 08 Node]="EM"Char(92)"FX Options JV") ;[CY SR YTD];0))
    thanks

  • How to use Templates in Interactive Report?

    Hi,
I have migrated a report into interactive report, but the template used in earlier report are not applying into new report? Could you pls tell me how can i do that?
    Thanks,
    -Amit

    Hi Amit
Interactive reports work differently than classic reports - the formatting is controlled by the AJAX controls - not by fixed templates.
While interactive reports have brought some wonderful new possibilities, there may well be times when you'll want to retain the more rigid, formatted look of a classic report.
You should choose what the purpose of the report is, and what facilities you want to offer your user - this will guide you to choose an interactive or classic report.
Both have their place in applications.
In summary, the short answer to your question - there is no direct equivalent of the report formatting template in interactive reports.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to use anchoring tool in Reports 6i

    Hello,
Can any one help me to how i can use the anchoring tool in 6i reports and what are the properties to be set to it.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Dinesh .M

    Hi Dinesh,
Anchor defines the relative position of an object to the object to which it is anchoredand they are used to determine the vertical and horizontal positioning of a child object relative to its parent. Since the size of some layout objects may change when the report runs, you need anchors to define where you want objects to appear relative to one another.
