How to use MySQL?

Hi,
I would like to make queries to a MySQL database but, after the creation of the External Ressource, I have this error when I try to create a new component from catalog :
at fuego.connector.ConnectorException.jdbcDriverNotFound(ConnectorException.java:130)
     at fuego.connector.impl.BaseJDBCConnector.start(BaseJDBCConnector.java:318)
     at fuego.connector.impl.BaseJDBCPooledConnector.start(BaseJDBCPooledConnector.java:202)
     at fuego.connector.SynchConnectorService.getConnector(SynchConnectorService.java:151)
     ... 7 more
DO you have an idea? The manual is not very precis about that...
Thanks
Fran?ois

Sorry, it works :D
I just added mysql-connector-java-5.0.5-bin as external resource and that's all good.
Cool!

    Thanks in advance..

    Hi,
I guess there must be some problem with your App Server Configuration settings:
Kindly Check if you are using the following ones:
    Driver Name: com.mysql.jdbc.Driver
    Url: jdbc:mysql://[hostname][,failoverhost...][:port]/[dbname][?param1=value1][&param2=value2].....
    Thanks & regards,

  • Question:How to use MySQL database as a service in Oracle Cloud

    Hello All,
I want to use MySQL as backend for my application. How can i select MySQL database. Its showing me only to choose Oracle database.
    Thanks in advance.

The Oracle Database Cloud Service uses the Oracle Database.  You do not have access to the underlying operating system to make the choice you are seeking.
When the Oracle Compute Service comes out later this year, you could use one of those "infrastructure only" environments and load MySQL into it.  You would be responsible for all maintenance of MySQL and the environment.
    Hope this helps.

  • What is best method for learning how to use mySQL with Coldfusion?

I have been using access databases for years with Coldfusion. I have a client that wants me to build an online classroom. I figure it's time to finally start using mySQL, but there is so much info out there, I don't know which way to turn.
Where do you experts recommend I get started?
Also, I am using coldfusion entrprise on my system at home. My machine is a 64-bit, 3.30Ghz AMD FX - 6100 six-core processor with 8gig of ram. Can I install mySQL on the machine and run CF8 without any problems?

How much RAM left on your system? If the computer is strictly for development, then you have more than enough to run ColdFusion, MySQL, browsers, and other development tools.
For MySQL download the MySQL Community Server and MySQL Workbench. There is also all-in-one package for Windows, http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/windows/installer/ that you don't need to download the server and workbench separately. The installation should be straight forward.
By the way, other CF users may suggest you to use MariaDB (https://mariadb.org/), which is a branch of MySQL.

  • How to use MySQL to create a database

I downloaded MySQL and opened the folder and saw a plethora of files. I'm lost and don't know where to start. I want to create a database. Any suggestions? I have dreamweaver cs5. My computer is a mac book pro OS10.6.8.

To amplify osgood_'s excllent suggestions - MySQL is a database application that runs, typically, in a server environment. Full stop.
This is not a simple "install the app and everything's good" type of program. Please do more research before attempting to install it. Also understand the security implications of running a database on a server (or even locally) and learn how to lock it down. Finally, to install and run MySQL locally, you better get really good with Terminal.app and learn how to launch MySQL and configure it from the command line.
I personally use MAMP (Mac Apache MySQL and PHP - see http://www.mamp.info/) to do MySQL/PHP development and testing as it doesn't mess with the internals of my machine, keeps everything in a MAMP folder in my Applications folder, and it has a control panel for easy start/stop of Apache/MySQL services.
Not trying to squash your dreams of running MySQL locally but you do need more "domain" knowledge before doing so.
    Hope this helps.

Could anybody look into this issue.

. Can I connect to a MYSQL DB with servlets?Yes... documentation to help you connect to any database can be found at http://java.sun.com/products/jdbc. To connect to MySQL, you'll need drivers (sourceforge.net), and the specific connection URL for those drivers will be included in the documentation.

It depends on how you installed it. You have to shutdown the MySQL service first. If you used the standard, but obsolete Startup Item, you can do that with the Startup Item. If you created a launchd script, you can do it with launchctl. Once MySQL is no longer running, you can delete the Startup Item or launchd script and the rest of MySQL.

  • How to configure MySQL to be used with J2EE 1.3.1 -- Very Very URGENT.

    Hi All,
I have downloaded Sun's J2EE reference implementation 1.3.1. I want to use MySQL as my database instead of the default database Cloudscape that comes with J2EE SDK 1.3.1. Can any one help me configuring in doing the same.
    Thanks and regards,
    Venky.

Hi! I had the same problem, too. Im Brazilian and Ive been learning the English language yet, but Ill try to describe how to configure J2EE with MySQL.
I am using MySQL version 4.1.7 with J2EE version 1.3 on Windows XP Professional. The driver version of MySQL is 3.0.16.
You have to configure the following two files:
    - <J2EE_HOME>\bin\setenv.bat
    - <J2EE_HOME>\config\resource.properties
    Do the following steps:
    1) Copy the JAR file of MySQL driver (mysql-connector-java-3.0.16-ga-bin.jar) to <J2EE_HOME>\lib directory.
    2) In <J2EE_HOME>\bin directory open the setenv.bat file and analize the code. It is not hard to understand the code, it is just the classpath configuration of J2EE. After understand it, add a reference of MySQL driver (mysql-connector-java-3.0.16-ga-bin.jar), that was copied to <J2EE_HOME>\lib directory.
    3) Run the <J2EE_HOME>\bin\j2eeadmin.bat to configure the resource.properties file. There are two command lines to be executed, as below:
    - j2eeadmin.bat -addJdbcDriver <CLASS NAME OF THE DRIVER>
    - j2eeadmin.bat -addJdbcDatasource <JNDI NAME> <URL>
    For example:
    - j2eeadmin.bat -addJdbcDriver "com.mysql.jdbc.Driver"
    - j2eeadmin.bat -addJdbcDatasource "jdbc/mysql/test" "jdbc:mysql://localhost/test?user=username&password=pass"
    4) After run j2eeadmin.bat, the resource.properties file will be modified. But when I did it and when I executed the verbose command to start J2EE, some error messages was exhibited. So I decided to open the resource.properties file and I noticed that the character "\" was added erroneously in a lot of places of the code. It did not seem correct, so I decided to remove these characters replacing them. Bingo!!! After I did it, I run verbose again and no more message error ocurred. I think it is a bug of J2EE.
Finish! I modified the datasource JNDI to access MySQL and then I run my EAR application. No problems occurred. My application is running succesfully.
    Good luck!
