How to use SCM in JDev 10.1.2

Hi,
I try finding manual or an article which talk about using SCM with JDev step by step.
But I can't find anything.
So, I want you tell me some information about it (step by step)
Thank you very much!
Tuan.

There are demos on the SCM area on OTN. http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/repository/demos.html

  • How to Use SCM (9iDS) with JDeveloper v3.2.3

    We still have users that are required to use JDeveloper v3.2.3 (not authorized to install / upgrade applications - approval process for upgrade painfully slow)
    To support them we have systems with both 9iDS and JDeveloper v3.2.3. The repository is on a Sun Solaris box (Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.0.1.3.0). The repository is (Server) 4.0.12.88.2 and (Client) 3.0.19.0.0 with Repository Admin Utility 9.0.2.88.12.
    The help instructions in JDev v3.2.3 are not clear on how to 'force' it to recognize the availability of the source control repository 'system'. It appears to that it expects a 6i installation and then it would automatically work.
    Are there any other instructions on marrying these two components (9iDS Repository and JDev v3.2.3) that would cause the Source Control menu to appear?
    Note: Received this response on the SCM forum from David Brown (Oracle)
    James,
    JDev 3.2.3 with a 9iDS backend SCM repository is very undesirable. I am sure, after much >work, they could be made
    to cohabit, but the reason we went for the 'suite' approach is to offer certification out of >the box, rather than mismatched
    components.
    sorry,
    David

    I've been out for a while, so that's why I've delayed on this response.
    Is there a description / procedure on "downgrading your repository to 6i" ?
    Thanks.
    Hi,
    I'm afraid that Dave is correct about this - it's very hard to provide future compatibility in any product, and there is a long stretch of time between JDeveloper 3.2.3 and 9iDS. We do provide backward compatibility (you can connect to a 6i repository from a 9i version of JDeveloper), so if it's absolutely not possible to upgrade your clients to 9i JDeveloper, maybe downgrading your repository to 6i is an option.
    Thanks,
    Brian

  • UIX- How to use sequence in JDev 10.1.2

    Hi,
    I have a UIX Page displaying Employees view in a readonly Table format.
    Here I hide the employeeId field by setting the rendered property to false.
    I create another UIX Page for create/modify employee by dragging and dropping EmployeesView in InputForm Mode.
    Here I don't want the user to enter the EmployeeId Field, instead I have a sequence made in the backend which will input value when the before insert row trigger fires.
    When I try to set the rendered property for the item in the input form to false I get an error saying the user has to enter value.
    How to overcome this? Please help!

    If you use ADF BC, you can override the method create(AttributeList) in the Entity Object implementation class (EmployeesImpl.java).
    Use: Menu --> Tools --> Override Methods --> create
    In the overridden create method you can assign the next value from a DB sequence (e.g. EMP_SEQ) to the ID attribute:
    protected void create(AttributeList nameValuePair) {
    // Super
    super.create(nameValuePair);
    // Id
    SequenceImpl s = new SequenceImpl("EMP_SEQ", getDBTransaction());
    setEmployeeId(s.getSequenceNumber());
    }

    2) I downloaded (java.sun.com) the jre for 1.4001 and sdk for 1.4.
    After install I have c:\jdk14001 on my PC. The install was successful, I was able to compile and run a few simple class files.
    3) I downloaded the full version of jdev from oracle. I now have c:\jdev9i_902 on my hdd.
    4) I went into the jdev.conf added a line<br>SetJavaHome c:\jdk14001

    Any help is appreciated

    JDeveloper 9.0.2 doesn't run under JDK 1.4.x, it works under JDK 1.3.1.
    Please, take a look at 9.0.3, it does run under JDK 1.4.0_01 but has a few
    issues. The officially JDK supported version for 9.0.3 is 1.3.1

  • How to Use Function_Loader_Inlay in SCM APO Version 4?

    Hi ,
    I was going through the SE38 - Program - Function_Loader_Inlay , to check the possibilities of upload and download product/location combinations in SCM APO version of 4.0.
    But I am not able to use it as per the selection screen given.
    Please let me know if some one has used the same.
    Any inputs regarding the documentation OR how to use would be  appreciated.
    Thank you - Prasad.

    HI,
    We do not use this program.
    For Characteristic combination creation as per product- location we use transaction /sapapo/mc62 inthat
    Create characteristic combination --> infoprovider file
    I would also like to know more about APOLoder which uses program which you have mentioned.
    Function_Loader_Inlay  report is no official SAP software.
    It encapsulates ApoLoader functionality inside APO system

  • How to use/populate JTable in Jdev 3.0 ?

    Is there any tutorial or examples available
    on how to use JTable in JDeveloper 3.0 ?
    After creating business objects project
    and application, what steps do I take to
    a) put a jtable class object into my application ? I have tried creating a
    frame (JFrame) using new\objects\frame, and
    then dragging JTable into the UI, but don't
    know how to connect things from there.
    b). manipulate/populate the grid from there
    using the business objects created
    earlier in the project ?
    The html documentation included with JDev 3 provides some clues on individual key word searches, but does not at all connect the dots. What is needed
    here is a tutorial like some of the others
    included.
    null

    You may find the following steps useful.
    Create an InfoBus form by:
    Select menu File | New...
    Select "InfoBus Data Form" and press OK
    Go through the wizard and create a
    Detail or Master Detail form.
    Be sure to place the detail in a GRID control (last few pages of wizard).
    Then look at the generated code. This form will contain a useful class GridControl which contains a JTable element. Most noteworthy is that the JTable is already hooked up to the data source.
    In particular, the GridControl that is in
    your source has a public method:
    public final JTable getTable()
    This gives you access to the JTable to further customize the way you need.
    Ofcourse there are other tutorials that touch
    on the above, but you won't find a tutorial
    on how to hook up a JTable to a database because we have many more advanced classes
    (InfoSwing: GridControl,...) that do that
    and much more for you. You will be much more
    productive if you rely on the additional InfoSwing components.
    I hope this helps,

  • How to use Connection Pool in ADF ear file creaion from jDev 10.1.3

    Hi,
    We are developing big application in ADF with 10 different modules. We are creating ear file with data source setting.
    How to use connection pool while creating ear file from jDev. Connection pool is alreday created in Application Server 10g.
    What all the setting we need do to make use of connection pool while creating ear file jDev.
    Thanks

    User,
    If you are using ADF Business Components, you can right-click each application module, select "configurations" and edit the configuration you are using. On the initial page of the configuration dialog, you can specify to use either a JDBC URL or a Datasource - you just need to choose Datasource and then provide the name by which to access it.

  • Tech art. on How to use Jdev

    Can anyone provide me with the documents , step wise how to use Jdeveloper of an intermediate level.

    It all depends on what you want to use JDeveloper for. There is an introduction to JDeveloper course available online at Oracle Learning Network. The course title is 'Oracle9i: Introduction for J2EE Developers'. Also, if you navigate to http://technet.oracle.com/products/jdev/viewlets/viewlet.html
    you will see the IDE Overview and Getting Started demos, which may help.
    Once you get familiar with the tool, the HowTos provide in-depth, specific information.

  • How to use the Columns Hidden | space in the bottom of af:panelCollection?

    Hi,experts,
    In jdev 11.1.2.3,
    I can see a row of Columns Hidden | Columns Frozen in the bottom of component af:panelCollection - pc1 which have an af:table - t1 component inside in designer view,
    and can see there is a blank row space only with "|" inside when the page is running.
    Now I want to use this blank row space such as to display row numbers for the table, so I set the property for the panelColletion as following source code:
    ==========================
    <af:panelCollection id="pc1" inlineStyle="width:1250px; height:500px;">
    <f:facet name="menus"/>
    <f:facet name="toolbar"/>
    <f:facet name="statusbar">
    <af:group id="g4"/>
    </f:facet>
    <af:table value="#{bindings.TView1.collectionModel}" var="row"
    rows="#{bindings.TView1.rangeSize}"
    emptyText="#{bindings.TView1.viewable ? 'No data to display.' : 'Access Denied.'}"
    fetchSize="#{bindings.TView1.rangeSize}" rowBandingInterval="1"
    filterModel="#{bindings.ImplicitViewCriteriaQuery.queryDescriptor}"
    queryListener="#{bindings.ImplicitViewCriteriaQuery.processQuery}" filterVisible="false"
    varStatus="vs"
    selectedRowKeys="#{bindings.TView1.collectionModel.selectedRow}"
    selectionListener="#{bindings.TView1.collectionModel.makeCurrent}"
    rowSelection="single" id="t1" inlineStyle="font-size:xx-large; font-weight:bolder;">
    <af:column sortProperty="#{bindings.TView1.hints.GoodsStatus3.name}" filterable="true"
    sortable="true"
    headerText="#{bindings.TView1.hints.GoodsStatus3.label}"
    id="c42">
    <af:outputText value="#{row.GoodsStatus3}" id="ot33"/>
    </af:column>
    <f:facet name="footer">
    <af:group id="g3">
    *<af:outputText value="RowsNumber:" id="ot44"/>*
    *<af:outputText value="#{bindings.TView1Iterator.estimatedRowCount}"*
    id="ot43" partialTriggers="::pc1:t1"/>
    </af:group>
    </f:facet><f:facet name="detailStamp"/>
    </af:table>
    </af:panelCollection>
    =====================
    but when run the page there is no display for the row number, instead on the bottom of the table, there is only a blank row with "|" inside.
    How to use the Columns Hidden | Columns Frozen space in the bottom of component af:panelCollection ?
    Thanks!

    Hi, Arun
    It works.
    As in my use case, can draw an af:toolbar component into statusbar of Panel Collection facets in Structure view.
    There is still a small issue:
    cannot see the Columns Hidden|Columns Frozen component in the Structure view,
    and if drop more than one af:toolbar into statusbar, the sencond one will fall/wrap into second row, even though there is enough space on the first row (to occupy a second row in statusbar will be a waste of space), and cannot see how to adjust.
    Thank you very much!

  • How to use Property Editor from an Add-In?

    Hi,
    I am writing a WYSIWYG add-in for JDev that allows users to put some object into a JPanel instance.
    Thess object has properties such as left, right, width, height, etc.
    - Question: how to use JDev's property editor to allow users change properties of thess object?
    - Another word: how to user JDev's Property Editor API from an add-in?
    I looked at the document. It does not give me enough information about Property Editor.
    Thanks in advance,
    Trung

    Hello Prasad,
    You are on the right avenue - launch an external application which can connect to running Outlook instance and then close it. After this you can launch Outlook anew. Here are the steps required to get the job done:
    1. Use the Marshal.GetActiveObject method which obtains
    a running instance of the specified object from the running object table (ROT) - Outlook in your case, for example:
    // Check whether there is an Outlook process running.
    if (Process.GetProcessesByName("OUTLOOK").Count() > 0)
    // If so, use the GetActiveObject method to obtain the process and cast it to an Application object.
    application = Marshal.GetActiveObject("Outlook.Application") as Outlook.Application;
    then use the
    Quit method to close the running instance. The
    associated Outlook session will be closed completely; the user will be logged out of the messaging system and any changes to items not already saved will be discarded.
    2.  Use the
    Start method of the System.Diagnostics.Process class to start Outlook anew.

  • How to use a session bean in another session bean (or an EJB in a session)

    JDev 11.1.1.4, WLS 10.3.4, Windows 7 x64
    I have a login controller with a session-scoped bean that manages logins.
    I have another session-scoped bean that manages menu security.
    both modules compile and work fine now I need to share the data from one to another.
    I need to reference the login controller in the menu security bean. How do I reference (include) the login bean in the security bean?
    I tried an EJB - what a farce - these are supposed to be universal and easy ( basis of the oop in Java).
    the bean is defined:
    @Stateless(name = "SecurityEJB", mappedName = "ZITASApplication-ZITASModel-SecurityEJB")
    I have tried :
    ic = new InitialContext();
    session = (SecurityEJBLocal)ic.lookup("ZITASApplication-ZITASModel-SecurityEJB#model.security.logic.SecurityEJB");
    session = (SecurityEJBLocal)ic.lookup("ZITASApplication-ZITASModel-SecurityEJB#model.security.logic.SecurityEJBLocal");
    session = (SecurityEJBLocal)ic.lookup("java:ejb/model.security.logic.SecurityEJB");
    session = (SecurityEJBLocal)ic.lookup("java:ejb/SecurityEJB");
    session = (SecurityEJBLocal)ic.lookup("java:app/SecurityEJB");
    session = (SecurityEJBLocal)ic.lookup("java:module/SecurityEJB");
    All return null pointers and claim the name cannot be resolved.
    As you can see - I have found various claims to how to do this.
    One way says create a sevlet, generate a listener and use the sevlet. Basically one for every EJB - a lot of work to use the EJBs
    I would assume that this would be one of the easiest parts of java - as it is the foundation of re-usability and oop.
    I can do either in the application - the added complexity of the EJB is less desirable - but better programming?

    Hi,
    ic.lookup("ZITASApplication-ZITASModel-SecurityEJB#model.security.logic.SecurityEJB");This should work with remote interface. If you want to lookup local interface, you need to register it in web.xml. Quote:
    To access the business local interface you need to define ejb local references for your component environment (i.e. from your servlet environment). You can do this by defining references in your web.xml. For example:
    <ejb-local-ref>
    <ejb-ref-name>ejb/BusinessLogicBean</ejb-ref-name>
    <local>packagename.BusinessLogicBean</local>
    </ejb-local-ref>
    To lookup your local reference from your servlet you need to use the following JNDI reference:
    java:comp/env/ejb/BusinessLogicBean Another one
    First, declare a local ejb reference in your web.xml file (This will add it to JNDI):
    <ejb-local-ref>
    <ejb-ref-name>ejb/Foo</ejb-ref-name>
    <local>simple.ejb.FooLocal</local>
    </ejb-local-ref>
    Then it can be looked up from JNDI:
    InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext();
    FooLocal foo = ctx.lookup("java:comp/env/ejb/Foo");Hope this helps.
