How to use SYSDATE as a default value of a bind variable in a query report?

Hi,
I want to use SYSDATE as default value for a bind variable in Query based report.
I don't see any way to do it, someone helps?
Thanks a lot.
Paulo.

You can aslo use #sysdate directly.
Hi,
The way I'm doing in my report is, I have a database function (f_ret_sysdate) with the following code
create function f_ret_sysdate return varchar2
begin
return to_char(sysdate,'mm/dd/yyyy');
end;
Now, in the 'Customization Form Display Options' section of the report I'm calling this function as #f_ret_sysdate in the default value field of corresponding bind variable to display SYSDATE with the format.
Hope this helps!...

  • How to pass a value to a bind variable in a query report in oracle apex

    Hi Guys,
    I have requirement to send weekly reports via email to some users. The users should receive their own records in the report. The user details is stored in a table. What I am planning to do is to create a report query in oracle apex to generate the report and then run a function/procedure via a scheduler to email the report to respective users. Now my query is ............. is it possible to pass a value (user name) to the report query to pull records of only that user? I know we can have bind variables in the report query but I have no idea how to pass a value for bind variables from a function/procedure.
    Can anyone help me on this issue or suggest a better approach?
    Thanks,

  • How we can find out the default value of the initialization parameters

    Hi All,
    How we can find out the default value of the initilization parameters from oracle database.
    Thanks
    Shiju

    Hi,
    you can find currently used parameter values v$parameter and v$parameter2.
    if default values is different real values then you can see alert.log.
    because in alert.log you will see non default values, rests is default.

  • Why can't I use Get LV Class Default Value in a dynamic VI?

    I am attempting to override a VI that uses "Get LV Class Default Value" and getting an error that I don't understand.  My parent class, "ANT Message Class", has two children - "ANT Command Class" and "ANT Response Class".  The children share a lot of data and functionality, including the factory pattern that the parent class' "Load Message Class" VI implements (see image).  I would like to override this VI with a Command version and a Response version, which would simply call the Message version with their respective classes overriding the dynamic input and output terminals.  However, I am getting the error "Front Panel Terminal 'ANT Message Class Out': Run-time type not propagated from dynamic input to dynamic output."
    Not sure how to get around this one.  Any ideas?
    Thanks,

    The To More Specific node is dealing with compile-type inference. In this case, you are loading a default instance from disk and then attempting to cast to the base Message class. However the type you are casting to is going to a dynamic output - this gives the compiler no assurances that the input class at run-time on the dynamic input will be the same as the output type; only that it will be a type at the top of the hierarchy. Dyanmic dispatch inputs/outputs must be the same type to guarantee some form of type safety.
    You need the Preserve node there so that you can guarantee the class at both dynamic dispatch terminals will be the same type.
    However this is probably not the best mechanism for a factory method. Factory methods should ideally be static; their job is to provide an instance of the right type (e.g loaded by path as per your example) and you don't need an instance of a class to do that. The only reason I can think of to over-ride said functionailty in a dynamic dispatch method is to provide some form of custom construction for the creation of the type. If all you are creating is an instance with nothing but the default private data then there is no reason to over-ride in the child classes.
    EDIT: Another post collision. nathand is on the money with this one.

  • How to Use Transient View Objects to Store Session-level Global Variables

    hi
    Please consider section "40.8.5 How to Use Transient View Objects to Store Session-level Global Variables"
    at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/web.1111/b31974/bcstatemgmt.htm#ADFFD19610
    Based on this documentation I created the example application
    at http://www.consideringred.com/files/oracle/2010/ProgrammaticalViewObjectAndRollbackApp-v0.01.zip
    It behaves as show in the screencast at http://screencast.com/t/qDvSQCgpvYdd
    Its Application Module has a Transient View Object instance "MyEmployeesContextVOVI", as master for the child View Object instance "EmpInCtxJobVI".
    On rollback the Transient View Object instance keeps its row and attribute values.
    Also when passivation and activation is forced (using jbo.ampool.doampooling=false ) the Transient View Object instance seems to keep its row and attribute values.
    questions:
    - (q1) Why does the expression #{bindings.MyEmployeesContextVOVIIterator.dataControl.transactionDirty} evaluate as true when a Transient View Object instance attribute value is changed (as shown in screencast at http://screencast.com/t/qDvSQCgpvYdd )?
    - (q2) What would be a robust approach to make a Transient View Object instance more self-contained, and manage itself to have only one single row (per instance) at all times (and as such removing the dependency on the Application Module prepareSession() as documented in "5. Create an empty row in the view object when a new user begins using the application module.")?
    many thanks
    Jan Vervecken

    Thanks for your reply Frank.
    q1) Does sample 90 help ? http://blogs.oracle.com/smuenchadf/examples/
    Yes, the sample from Steve Muench does help, "90. Avoiding Dirtying the ADF Model Transaction When Transient Attributes are Set [10.1.3] "
    at http://blogs.oracle.com/smuenchadf/examples/#90
    It does point out a difference in marking transactions dirty by different layers of the framework, "... When any attribute's value is changed through an ADFM binding, the ADFM-layer transaction is marked as dirty. ...".
    This can be illustrate with a small change in the example application
    at http://www.consideringred.com/files/oracle/2010/ProgrammaticalViewObjectAndRollbackApp-v0.02.zip
    It now shows the result of both these expressions on the page ...
    #{bindings.MyEmployeesContextVOVIIterator.dataControl.transactionDirty}
    #{bindings.MyEmployeesContextVOVIIterator.dataControl.dataProvider.transaction.dirty}... where one can be true and the other false respectively.
    See also the screencast at http://screencast.com/t/k8vgNqdKgD
    Similar to the sample from Steve Muench, another modification to the example application introduces MyCustomADFBCDataControl
    at http://www.consideringred.com/files/oracle/2010/ProgrammaticalViewObjectAndRollbackApp-v0.03.zip
    public class MyCustomADFBCDataControl
      extends JUApplication
      @Override
      public void setTransactionModified()
        ApplicationModule vApplicationModule = (ApplicationModule)getDataProvider();
        Transaction vTransaction = vApplicationModule.getTransaction();
        if (vTransaction.isDirty())
          super.setTransactionModified();
    }Resulting in what seems to be more consistent/expected transaction (dirty) information,
    see also the screencast at http://screencast.com/t/756yCs1L1
    Any feedback on why the ADF Model layer is so eager to mark a transaction dirty is always welcome.
    Currently, question (q2) remains.
    regards

    Hello Zero-G. _,
    >> But I don't get any "Operation". I can't see my failure. - I tested around for the last few days, but I don't have a Clou, what's wrong...
    I am afraid that you have mixed the WCF and WCF Data Service, here is a WCF Service example(it works with the Entity Framework while it is not WCF Data Service):
    http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/127395/Implementing-a-WCF-Service-with-Entity-Framework, please check it, in your case, you are use this mode and you do not need to create WCF Data Services.
    If you want to write a custom method in WCF Data Service, you could refer to this link:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd744841(v=vs.110).aspx, as you can see, although if we declare a custom method, it would not show in the web browser, we call it as adding
    the method after the based service link directly:
    http://localhost:12345/Northwind.svc/GetOrdersByCity
    Or call it by using a client project which could detect this method and call it as in this blog:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/dataaccesstechnologies/archive/2009/12/01/way-to-expose-custom-method-in-an-entity-class-from-wcf-data-service.aspx

  • Multiple default values for Selection type variable

    Hi all,
    I am using Bex 3.5. I have a fundamental doubt while creating a User Entry, Selection Option, Optional type variable.  I am trying to include multiple single variables in the default section, but it accepts only one. Is it possible to add multiple default values to the variable so that they show up in the selection screen when we run the report via Bex Analyzer ?
    Thanks for the inputs !
    Regards
    Snehith.

    Hi,
    In one of my bi7 reports, i remember i have given multiple default values in a single variable. For example i wanted to have multiple material types in my selection screen.
    But i have to check out the type of that user entry variable.
    Hope the above reply was helpful.

    A Java AWT, X11 problem posted in the weblogic ejb newsgroup. I haven't been in here for long, but
    that has to be a first.
    If you have the DISPLAY env variable set to :0.0, you have to be at the console on a Solaris box
    running the XServer. 'xdm' I think is the code that has to be running. Also, I think the format is
    <hostname:0.0> or better <hostname:0> unless you are on a multi-headed workstation. Something like:
    export DISPLAY=hostname:0
    where hostname is the name of the host running an XServer and the .xhosts file allows access to the
    XServer from the display client.
    Apparently, you are not at the console?
    Anyway, I don't think there is a newsgroup here that I could even recommend to cross-post this to as
    it is not a WebLogic question. I think I would try the Discussion Forums at http://java.sun.com.

  • Use of Bind Variable in the Query of view object giving null pointer excep

    I am using this code in the backing bean of my page to set the value of the bind variable 'cmdID' in the view object.
    String AM = "model.UnixCommandsAppMod";
    String CF = "UnixCommandsAppModLocal";
    ApplicationModule am = Configuration.createRootApplicationModule(AM, CF);
    ViewObject vo = am.findViewObject("Command_options_view");
    vo.setNamedWhereClauseParam("cmdID", 1);
    vo.executeQuery();
    On the fifth line it is giving NullPointer exception.
    I am not being able to figure out the reason.

    User,
    a). Don't keep posting new questions in the same thread. It really does decrease the usability of the forum. Now, if someone searches for "INFO: ADF Faces is running with time-stamp checking enabled," they will find a post about null pointer exception in a bind variable and think, "oh, that doesn't apply to me." If your question is answered, mark the answer as correct. New questions go into a new thread. Kind of funny that the thread I pointed you to with the answer to your question also has this same admonishment.. ;)
    b). I'll relent and answer your new question. Ignore that INFO message. It is not an error. It will ALWAYS ALWAYS appear when you run your application in the embedded OC4J with JDeveloper. Had you searched the forum for "INFO: ADF Faces is running with time-stamp checking enabled" you would find that the first hit (among some others) has this same answer
