How to use the variable value "ALL"

Hello all,
I'm trying to use the value "all" for a selection variable in a Web Interface so that to have no restrictions for that specific variable and that all the rows are shown on the interface.
Unfortunately it does not seem to be working because when I select the value "all" the system seems to go back to the latest rows saved under a specific value for that variable and does not show all the rows saved under any variable's value.
Anyone knows how to make this work? One option is to remove the variable from the web interface altogether, but that's my last option.

why is leaving out the variable your last option? If you want to select "all" then you don´t need a variable.

Anita,
I have worked on the Global variables and i found no issues. Make sure that the variable is declared in the Declaration Section and then initlaized in the Initialization section.
If you declare a variable in the Declaration Section ,
int i;
then in any udf you can use if directly. No need to re declare the variable in the UDF. If you do this, then it becomes a local variable.

How to clear the variable value in session store?

I'll try to build form for search. There are LOV and
search button on form. When user don't select anything then push
search button, I'd like the report to show query everything. I
mean the report will show like condition where id like '%'.
And I send variable between form to report by using session
store.
I select nothing in LOV but value that return by LOV is
not null. It's in stead of old value of LOV.
Please tell me.. How to clear the variable value in
session store? I'd like to set it to null. If you have greater
way to do like this, please tell me.

How to use the prompted value in the filter expression

Hi
Is it possible to use the prompted value in the filter expression?
My requirement is that user will be prompted for a date field and I need to filter the records such that the records are displayed for the last 5 weeks from the date entered by the user.
If somehow I know how to use the prompted value in the filter expression then this requirement is easy to be done. If this is possible, please guide me?
If there are other ways to acheive the desired results then please suggest.

How to change the variable value in fox formula?

    Please help me achieve this scenario,
         in the variable selection screen , i wil give some i/p like, calyear(0calyear) = 2008.
      In planing function using FOX formula, i must be able change the variable value to 2009.
Will it be possible to achieve this, can we change a variable value using FOX formula, if possible

i dont know what is your requirement exactly.If you can give a better explanation of ur requirement we can help you. But to answer your question yes we can get new values for the variable in the planning function.
for this you need to couple the planning function together with the planning filter in a planning sequence. This planning filter should have the variable that you wanted to change. In the WAD when you want to call this planning sequence there is an option to call variable screen. If you enable this, it will pop up the variable screen to get this value again.

How to show the variable values in key format in the information tab

Dear all
in the information tab of the query, we can see all the filters and the variable value. But we can only see the infoobject <b>text</b> of this variable, how can we do if the user needs to see the <b>key</b> of this variable?

I've referred to the Web API, and find a way to display some specified variable, but since this is the standard webtemplate and we need to show all the possbible variable used in the query. Anybody has better solution?

How to use the prompt value in the report column

I have a report prompt column which is 'Adj Type' which holds values 10,20,30 and when user selects Adj Type = 10 then this value should be passed to report column.
For Eg. Column 1 value is 10 and this should multiple with prompt value and the output should be 10* 10.
Any thoughts how to capture the prompt values in report column for calculation.

2) In Fx Table_name.Your_column * @{P_Var}
@{P_var}{20} ( 20 is default value it will override when a user selects value in prompt

How to use the updated value in the same update statement

I just wonder how to use the updated new value of other column in the same udpate statement. I am using Oracle 11.2, and want to update the two columns with one update statement as following:
create table tb_test (id number(5), tot number(5), mon_tot number(5));
update tb_test set (tot = 15, mon_tot = tot *15) where id = 1;
...I would like to update both tot and mon_tot column, the value of mon_tot shall be determinted by the new value of tot.

i have a problem of using the variables of a function exit in the include program..
If i use those variables there will be an error indicating 'Field FEBVW_IN is unknown. It is neither in one of the specified tables nor defined by a DATA statement'. Please help... Below is the code of the function exit:

Sometimes you will get this error message when checking include code in exits even though there is really no error - it happens because the include does not realise it is in the function due to the navigation index being out of date.
Try activating the code - it may work even though the check said there were errors.
You can also get this issue when trying to drill down on the field in the include to view its structure.

so i want to send the variable value v_basic as a parameter through form to report...and simlarly other variables values which i have calculate in procedure....

can you describe how you get the value for this variable?
is it calculated on one report and then you want to pass it to a 2nd report? if that's the case, what you can do is have the reports linked via an opendocument link and pass the value to the 2nd report as a parameter. the value / parameter is only shared when you press the opendocument hyperlink.

if you are just trying to find a way to share a calculation across reports look into creating a Custom Function which can be added to your repository. please note that this will not pass a calculated value across 2 or more reports, but will just have a shared method of making the calculation.
as Abhilash mentioned before, there's no way to use an actual Variable across 2 separate reports without them being a main report and subreport(s). in that case you'll want to look into Shared Variables.

How to use bind variable value of one VO as initial value for other VO row?

I have two View Objects: one read only with several bound variables and another editable entity based. Correspondingly there are two ADF Faces pages: first contains search form based on the read-only VO and second create form based on the editable VO. The search form has several hidden fields for some of bound variables because they aren't edited directly by user. These fields are updated with PPR when user selects other search criteria from LOV.
There is a command button in the first page that navigates to the second form. Is there any way to transfer values of bound variables from the first VO to the second VO as initial values of the new row?
I tried to set custom controller for the second page and retrieve search criteria values from request parameter map but values from hidden fields are missing. I think because that these fields are updated by PPR. Of course I can add custom action method to the navigation button and in the method put these values to request parameter map but I hope there is better solution.

To summarize, given a bind variable value for one VO, on creating a row in a second VO, for 1 of the attributes of the second VO, you want to use the first VO's bind variable value. Correct?
A potential solution ADF BC driven:
1) Ensure you have an AppModuleImpl for your AM
2) Ensure you have a ViewImpl for your 1st VO (where the bind variable will exist) - lets refer to that VO as "Alpha"
3) Ensure you have a ViewRowImpl for your 2nd VO (the one you want to default the value in) - lets refer to that VO as "Beta"
4) For your first VO "Alpha" create the bind variable (say pValue)
5) In your second VO "Beta" ViewRomImpl add following code:

protected void create(AttributeList attributeList) {
super.create(attributeList);
AppModuleImpl am = (AppModuleImpl)this.getApplicationModule();
String someValue = am.getAlphaView1().getpValue();

You have to define a Text Variable of type customer exit and pass the value of the Variable you have created for the condition in the Exit Code.
You have to use the correct I_Step = *.

Hi Gnana,
you can use de "area value" option when define a button with planning function and variables for passing values to function. These values are in excell cells so you can modify it as you want.
So imagine that your planning function has only one variable, the command sequence looks like
CMD                                           1       EXECUTE_PLANNING_FU
PLANNING_FUNCION_NAME       1       YOUR_FUNCTION
DATA_PROVIDER_FILTER           1       DATA_PROVIDER_1
VAR_NAME_1                             1       YOUR_VARIABLE
and now you delete row with VAR_VALUE_1 and in result area you use for example
$A$1:$C$1
Now, cell A1 = VAR_VALUE_1
cell B1 = 1
cell C1 = Reference to another cell with your variable value (text item). You can use any excell function for fill 0's
And now, when you execute planning function you're passing cell C1 as value of your variable.

How to Capture the Variables Value into the

Using JSLT part of the Jdeveloper/Jheadstart, ADF/Struts Framework.
I'm capturing the value fine using the following,
<c:set var="CvInformationFirstName" scope="request" value="${bindings.CvInformationFirstName.attributeValue}"/>I can even show the value without any problem,
<%-- Show the saved values --%>
<c:out value='${requestScope.CvInformationFirstName}' />Right here, we I try assigning the value of the firstname to a field, I can't accomplish this since I just don't know how to do it,
<html:text name="CvInformationBean" property="CvInformationFirstName" size="10" maxlength="10"/>

I am not sure what it is you are trying to accomplish. What do you mean with "assigning"? It is a business rule where the FirstName and LastName fields of the master need to be equal to the FirstName and LastName of the details, or is it the other way around? Anyway, it seems you are trying to get this business rule implemented by playing around with <html:text> elements in the JSP. You can't do it that way. Those <html:text> elemens are "two way". When the page is shown they determine which values get shown. Then, when the user enters new values and submits, they determine where those values are stored. If I understand what you are trying to accomplish correctly, you are trying to show values from one place, but submit them to another place. That can't be done strictly at the JSP level (not unless you use JavaScript anyway).
But then again, I may be misinterpreting what you are trying to do. Could you provide some more details about what the desired functionality is?
Finally, may I remark that this is the JHeadstart Forum, where you can communicate with other JHeadstart users all over the world. Also you may have noticed that the JHeadstart Team monitors this forum, and as such it is used as a means of providing some support for JHeadstart users that run into bugs or problems with the JHeadstart Tool (JHeadstart is a Consulting product that does not come with official "Metalink" support).
