How to use wsit with jeveloper for developing and testing web servises

hi, all. Just want to ask one realy simple quastion.
I'm new with web servises, so my question may be doesn't fall well into this section , but this community looks friendly for me and i hope to get some usefull links and advises.
First of all could anybody say me if i'm righ or wrong with the following suggestions:
1. What is the principal difference between axis 2 and wsit products? Do i understand right that they both extend or support so called jax-ws2 API and represent different approaches in that (are they competitors?), or this products serve for different sakes at all and could be used together? I want to understand without much digging how these products correlate with each other...
2. If i'm right what is oracle favor? And if oas standard supply doesn't include wsit, how to install and use this product for creating interoperable web servises in jdeveloper enviroment? ...or jax-ws 2.1 wasn't included in oc4j v10 and will be the part of v11 only?

Both Axis and WSIT are not Oracle products - so I'm not exactly sure why would you post the question here.
JDeveloper has native support for JAX-RPC based Web services development in 10.1.3 and JAX-WS support in 11 - check out the online demos linked from the home page to see these in action.

You have to use any type of Version Control (e.g subversion).
You can read about Version Control. But I will talk about subversion in brief description:
1- Setup subversion server.
2- From subversion server create new Repository and define users (or use users from active directory).
3- From JDeveloper Main Menu --> View --> Team -- > Versioning Navigator --> Create new connection to your subversion repository.
4- Create new ADF application in JDeveloper.
5- In Jdeveloper Main Menu ---> Versioning -- > Version Application -- > select the subversion connection.
6- Add the application in subversion.
7- All developer should make a connection to the repository they will see the ADF application.
8- Right Click on the ADF application --> Check Out.
9- All developer will take a copy of the ADF application in their local machine.
10- If developer make changes in the application he can commit changes to repository and all others users can update changes.
This is a quick and brief description of how to use subversion for team development.

Hi Arnab,
The expression is checked only for the current MDM session.
If u login with the ABC language it will always show the ABC language no matter how many times u execute it.
Try connecting to the DM with the XYZ language.
It should go to the if part rather than else.

Virtualization for development and test

Hello,
I was wondering what virtualization technologies other software developers (or Apple) recommend/use for software development? I understand that Mac OS X itself needs to be run on Apple hardware, which means an Xserve or Mac Pro. Aside from purchasing the hardware, what else needs to be done to set up multiple virtual machines for development and testing purposes?

I don't know all the details, and how it would work, but one thing you could look into would be using Net Boot from and OS X Server. The last time I went in to the Apple Store, they were using that. Basically, they hook your computer up via ethernet and boot from an OS on their server that they know is good (no bad third party kexts, strange drivers, and so on).
It looked pretty slick. I don't remember if they could load different OS versions, though. On the other hand, I could see it being a problem, if what you were testing trashed the networking, since it uses ethernet.

How to use an external drive for windows and mac

I recently got an external hard drive (2 TB seagate expansion) and I need to be able to use it with both my mac and my windows computer. I have read numerous forums and tried downloading various third party programs but nothing seems to work! One of the things i have read was to create a partition on the drive, this is easy enough and i did try it so i do have one side i can add stuff from from windows and one side i can add stuff to from my mac but then i cant access the other side. So say i need to get a file from my mac to my windows. I add a file to the mac side of the partition from my mac but then when i plug it into windows i cant retrieve that because its on the mac side of the partition (and vis versa). Is there some sort of easy way around this? or some way in which i can format the drive where i can move files back and forth from windows to mac without any expensive third party programs?

PS. I did notice when i originally got the hard drive i had a bunch of files on it that were added from windows. When i plugged it into my mac i could see and copy these files but i could not add new files. Is there anyway to get around this "read only" type formate if i were to reset my drive back to its factory settings?

Three ways to go;
Repartiton the drive (1 partition) as MBR and with FAT32 file system. This is readable and writable by both Mac and Windows, but has a file size limit (which I think is 4GB).
The alternative is to leave the drive formatted as NTFS for Windows (this is not normally writeable from Mac) and employ a third-party software application which can write to NTFS. NTFS-3G, Paragons NTFS for Mac and Tuxera NTFS have all been recommended elsewhere.
Or you can repartition as GUID with HFS+ (Mac OS Extended Journalled) file system. This would not normally be accesible to the Windows machine, but once again there is 3rd-party softwsre available to enable Windows to read and write to it. MacDrive is the only one I'm aware of, but there are probably others.

[JS][CS5] How can use 'edit with' option for link using sripting

I Can edit link using Link.editOriginal () if the default application is as i need it will open it from there, when I try to open it with other application instead of default application of link file I can't (usually we "use edit" with option in manually). Is there any option to do it in scripting.
Any clue will help us to update the large set of links in a single click.

You are exactly catch my point, my requirement is to update math type eps file. If my math type equation default application file is illustrator (say) as below
it will open in illustrator instead of mathtype if i use editOriginal function...
Jus i need to open it in mathtype, the link file default application file is whatever it is.

Which iOS device should I purchase to use for development and testing?

I have the original iPhone, and so far I have been using that for testing the iOS apps that I have been developing.
I am in a dilemma as whether to purchase the iPod touch 4th Generation, or wait till I save enough to get the iPhone 4S.
I don't really need to use the device as a phone. In fact I would mainly use the device to test performance etc. I try to design the app to run on the original iphone, since that is the most constrained for performance, and I imagine it would run well on the other devices since they are faster. As for retina display, I think I can use the simulator.
Do I really need to get a new device at this time?

Sounds good on paper to you, but in reality it doesn't mean much. You're not testing with current software, so you have no idea about compatibility and if it's not compatible, speed won't matter. Not that your logic extends to real-world....

The simulator is not an emulator - all you're doing is testing a stack built for OS X/i386 and your computer monitor. You have zero confirmation on quality and layout on an actual device.
Without details about your apps and goals makes it pretty tough to say what you should/shouldn't do next except to say yes, you should have a newer device

How to use SetRotate with a AcroPDF control and VB6?

I'm creating a program in VB6 that has an Adobe Reader control (using AcroPDF.dll version 9.0) on the form that allows the user to open and view PDF files and I need to know how to use the SetRotate command programmatically to set the view of the PDF to a different angle (the view angle, like 90, 180 degrees, etc.).
According to the API reference, you use AcroPDPage.SetRotate but some how I need to tell it which control to apply it to and that is what I don't understand. If I just create a new instance of AcroPDPage and try the SetRotate or even GetRotate it gives me a 'object variable not set' error, which I understand since PDPage is supposed to be part of another object (such as a view control of some sort).
My question is, how do I get or create a AcroPDPage object that is part of the AcroPDF control on the form so that I can use GetRotate and SetRotate methods and apply it to the PDF view control (AcroPDF)? Although this is the prefered method of solving this problem, I guess if I could just get the AcroPDF control to show the view menu, that would be good enough.
I'm using the AcroPDF.dll version 9.0 and have Adobe Reader 9.0 installed on a XP SP3 machine. Again, I'm writing this program in VB6.
As you can probably tell, I'm fairly new to programming, especially using references to other program components like Adobe Reader.

Best practice for developing and testing AIR iOS multitouch apps

I'm considering switching our iPhone development practice from XCode/Objective C to AIR to leverage a larger pool of in house talent. The biggest concern I have right now is testing multitouch functionality - the prospect of having to do incremental builds, provisioning and deployment just to test and tweak the multitouch aspects of our projects is daunting, if not downright depressing.
What tools / services or techniques have been developed to facilitate what is undoubtedly one of the most common issues with developing for multitouch iOS using a desktop-based AIR development environment?

Concevably, you could roll your own internal service if that particular one doesn't suit you. (I don't have any knowledge about how they are doing it, but it shouldn't be hard to figure out since Apple's constraining rules would only allow a few possibilities.)
USB app install and debugging isn't supported on iOS. You have to use wireless.
Another option specifically for multi-touch dev/testing, is to use an Android device.

How to use sp_msforeachdb with sp_rename for changing two table names in each databases-

I have around 990 databases on a single SQL server in which I want to rename two tables 'AuditEvent' and 'AuditPropertyEvent' to 'AuditEvent_Archive' and AuditPropertyEvent_Archive table.
Then I want to transfer lastest 6 months of data from now newly rename archived tables to New created Auditevent tables (Which will have same structure as old),
For doing it I tried Cursor and SP_msforeachdb as possible solutions but its not allowing me to execute 2 sp_rename statements with go inside a dynamic statement.
Please suggest any possible solutions on how to rename the 2 tables in all databases using sp_msforeachdb or cursor in a single go.

How to use AppleScript with AccountEdge for printing?

Can AppleScript be used to print an AccountEdge invoice to a folder, quit this invoice, then increment the number of invoice to be opened by +1 and repeat the procedure with this invoice too? I am new to AppleScript and not familiar with its limitations.

When you run a script like that from Applescript the environment it runs in is not the same as when you run the command from the terminal. Specifically where the file is being written is not where you think.
Try giving a full path to the output file say -0 ~/quotes11272013.txt to force the file into your home folder.

How to use a single page for create and update mode.

I need to develop a single page to be used for both create and update modes.
I am going to use a variable MODE
and i will set this in the emp summary page.
Based on the button clicked by the user i have to render the JSF page.
For tis if the user selects a perticular and cliks on update thn i will pass the empno to the next.
so there in the next i will appy a ViewCreiteria on my View Obj to fetch only that row so that only that emp will be displayed ion update mode.

In my opinion you are over complicating things.
This is what I do for using the sme page as both create and update without all this code.
1) Create a browse page containing a an adf table with a select one component bound to your view object.
2) Create an additional edit page containing only an edit form containing fields of your view object that your users must enter in order to add or edit rows.
3) Link the pages in the JSF diagram with an "edit" navigation case from browse to edit page and a "return" navigation case from edit to browse (make sure that redirect option is NOT set on both cases)
4) Remove the submit button from the edit page and add two application module bindings for the commit and rollback operations as command buttons in the form footer facet. Make sure that both buttons has an action of return and that their disabled property is set to false. You will probably change their labels to ok and cancel respectively.
5) Drop a create action for your view object from the data control palette inside your page as a command button and set the action property to edit also.
3) Set the action property of the view button to edit
This should basically work without any code from your part. -- at least it does so for me -- if you like to make it a bit more funcy you may add am action listener inside your buttons and set a requeScope variable for example #{requestScope.editing} to true or false depending on the button clicked. Then add a title to your page with a value like #{requestScope.editing == true ? 'Editing record' : 'Adding a new record'}..

How to use the Smart Cover for FaceTime and Videos?

Hi,
I bought a new iPad recently with a Smart Cover. I find the Smart Cover very good for typing, at the low angle. The angle is very nice, it feels very comfortable and it allows fast typing. But then what is called the FaceTime/Video angle seems way too steep for me, like 80 degrees. I need to be like 3 meters away, at least, to watch a movie correctly or to be captured by the FaceTime camera. I'm rather tall but still, I don't really get it. I thought for the first couple of days that I was folding the cover in a wrong way but it seems not.
Am I the only one to experience this issue? Or is there another way of folding the cover to get a correct angle? I haven't tried another Smart Cover but I would doubt that mine is faulty. But if it is how the Smart Cover is designed, I'm surprised that Apple went with that, I mean, I can't see the use of this angle, if you need to be so far away from the iPad. I actually bought one (and the Smart Cover) to use it as a support for books/tutorials when I'm coding on my Mac, and I'm finding that I can't find a place for the iPad with the cover on my desk because it ends up to be too steep anywhere I place it...

My experience is the same as yours (and everyone else's, I suppose.)
Other than the various ways you can fold it, Smart Cover is not adjustable.
This link shows what Smart Cover can do.
You have already found the best workaround for Smart Cover: reposition yourself, the iPad, or both so the camera view shows what you want in the picture.
You decide the best location for your iPad while you capture video. Because iPad connects wirelessly, you need not worry about dangling cables.
